99% Root P7 L10 (L07-L10 B604) - Huawei Ascend P7

1. Of course your phone should be on P7 L10 (L07-L10 B604).
2. Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip (please ask uncle google.com where to find that stuff).
3. Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip into Internal Storage (again, "INTERNAL" not external or sdcard)
4. Download CWM recovery (P7 L09 CWM 6.0.5.1). (please ask uncle google.com where to find that stuff also).
5. Flash it in fastboot. (Please ask uncle google again how to flash it using fastboot)
6. Turn your phone off.
7. Hold and press vol up + power button to load into CWM recovery mode.
8. Install update UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip
9. After installation success, reboot.
10. It will ask if you will fix su, press NO.
That's it. 99% rooted.
Note: If you want to customize (delete or add) your system apps. Just create flashable updater zip and flash it through CWM recovery.

Any confirmation on this so far?

I made that video.

Looks good. I did not want to be rude, but rooting a phone has its dangers, if you know what I mean.
Thanks for your reply

So are you now using this rooted 4.2.2? No more bootloop?
I haven't tried it yet as I'm out right now. But people at the other forum say that it's working and they have root access.

6. when you wrote "search for the previously downloaded file", do you mean I should install the .zip file from SD card?
9. How can you flash the recovery if you will not have root access? Or recovery can still be installed with out root?

for number 6, he means to flash the file you have downloaded on step 4. for number 9, you already have root access on that point given that you have followed all preceding instructions. The file you flashed on step 6 is the pre-rooted system partition of the 244 firmware, that is why on step 8 he indicated that you should not include flashing of the system part.
offtopic: now that there is a root method for xperia ZR, I will be buying it in the coming weeks. =))
Now it all seems to work fine so far. But what still hold me back is the pre-rooted zip file with the system partition from an unknown source. I always run custom ROM on my Android phones but usually they're from the developer directly. Flashing zip files downloaded from these Russian websites seem a bit risky. Anyone knows more about the source of it?

I also don't get the reboots I had on the .310 rom with SuperSU while deleting System apps using Titanium Backup.
request :/
can you guys make a flashable rooted zip of the 4.2.2 firmware please? i was deleting some bloatware and looks like i did something wrong and got a bootloop for some reason. Now i had to wipe data and everything, even the internal storage was formatted when wiping data!!! Reinstall the firmware and lost root, so ill have to do it all over again for the love of god, please!:crying:

The file zr244-system-supersu.zip is already a flashable zip of system partition with busybox, su and Superuser.apk. So you might find your missing files there or flash it for the whole system partition.

Just followed the instructions and upgraded to 4.2.2 with root. Data is preserved and so far everything seems fine. Finally see lockscreen widgets again!
is anyone able to get into recovery? pressing up or down during the green light doesnt do anything. the only way i can access recovery is to reflash it every time.

Okay, you need to first make sure that your bootloader is unlocked, to check this enable USB debugging, go to your adb directory and open a CMD and run adb reboot oem-unlock
If it returns with 'good to go' or something similar then it's unlocked, if not, follow unlocking procedures.
Second you need to download CM, and CWM.img place the cwm image in your fastboot directory and run fastboot flash recovery 'name of file'.img. once that is done do a bat pull and when you put it back in turn on and hold the volume up key. This will boot you to recovery.
Make a back up.
then you need to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache. Go to mounts and wipe /system
Go to install zip on the main page and locate either on the internal storage or the external storage the zip of CM and install it.
Reboot and wait up to 4-5Minutes for first boot, once booted go to your browser and download the Gapps zip and flash in the same way as you did the Rom without wiping anything. If you would like to use a custom kernel download the correct kernel for your android version and flash in the same way as gapps.
If you have any problems just search for a flashing tutorial or post your problem back in this thread rather then opening a new one.

If you aren't capable of following the current instructions then you should not be attempting to mess around with your phone.
None of it is difficult and all the information is out there - make it your responsibility to read, understand and know what to do if it goes wrong.

people is your weapon. you know how many videos are out there in youtube ? even if its an old one, it will definately help you understand the whole procedure. really it cant be any easier. u need to root the phone so you can install anything. u need to unlock the bootloader so u can change the boot image , you need to format so you have a clean phone and of course you need an os to open up again the phone. like he said it cant be any easier. take for example me. 4 months ago , i start reading and watching videos. it took me 8 days to learn the basic and understand what i have to do and took me one day to do it. 9 days overall. now ? now i can totally mess it up and bring it back to life in 5 minutes... study it a little. you cant mess with linux based os without understanding how it works.
<<EDIT>>
For example ,
Here says u have to do that to unlock.
He says for windows u need the drivers. You can search and find them. For example one place to download them is here.
How to install the drivers has nothing to do with this forum , you must know how to force the drivers in windows , but if u search u will find that too.
To unlock now is only one command in terminal. wait a few seconds and u are done.
The procedure is only one command. the hard part is not something that has to do with the android or the forum. its windows fault if its so lame that cant even recognize properly a simple usb device.

Help needed

Fellows,
Please help me in my problem,
I was on b817 recently then I decided to change it as it has many bugs,
Finally I get to b800(transition from),since then I'm stuck on it, I can't downgrade or upgrade always I get " there is no update.app " message though the from is in my Dr load folder. I tried to update/downgrade. Through update apk and 3 buttons method but all failed.
I'm running everything stock I never tried to modify anything and I'm not rooted. I sent Pm to some senior members here but no one has replied me. I'm a noobie member if anyone would help please on how to get this problem sorted step by step with links to required programs please.?
My customs is 433 ??
Hello, is the file located on /dload at your SD card? Did you extract the update.zip first? If yes/ not try it with(/out). If that all fails you could extract the update.zip and flash all images manually through fastboot.
Yes it is In sd card root.. but to go for b621 or b805 we have to put the update.zip file in dload without extraction..
I said I'm noobie Here I don't know what is fastboot and how to flash anything through it ???
I happened just like you B 817.After the downgrade puts B621 UPDATE.APP on dload folder in the phone memory or SD card, turn off your phone, press simultaneously + and - volume and power button and the phone will write a alone software B621.I hope I helped you. Before that make one factoey reset plz.

How to flash through boot loader?
What application do I need to flash it?
Sorry for that but I'm noobie..??
First you need to set up your PC correctly. I assume you are running Windows.
So, download and install the HiSuite to get all needed drivers. Then follow this (http://dottech.org/21534/how-to-ins...ows-computer-for-use-with-your-android-phone/) instruction, I recommend to use methode 2.
Now shut down your device, press volume- and power at the same time. You should boot into the boot loader (white background). Maybe the device has to be connected to the PC for that.
Now you could follow the instruction in the link in the last post of me. Since you booted manually into the bootloader, begin with the fastboot command. (All files that are going to be flashed have to be in the location you put the fastboot-files (as described in the link) in.
I hope this is understandable. If not, feel free to ask!
Well, many thanks for your help,
I've downloaded all applications required on computer.
I'm planning to roll back to b621(already I have the zip for it).
Then what to do exactly Or what to write in fastboot menu ? (sorry I'm complete noob. ???
I think (but I'm quite not sure) that B621is instead of beeing a full firmware just an update. So I'd recommend to use B609 as full (!)version. Maybe you find the B609 stock recovery somewhere to download or you have to extract it with the huawei-update-extractor (just google and install it).
Download also the newest versions myrom and twrp, save the twrp file and the B609 stock recovery in the directory of your adb folder, the myrom on your sd card.
Now you boot your device into the bootloader. How to do this is described in my last post. In big letters the status of the bootloader is showed up. If its locked read the xda thread about how to unlock and continure afterwards.
Type into cmd (how to open is described in the adb tutorial): fastboot flash recovery [name of recovery.img] for example 'fastboot flash recovery recovery_twrp.img'.
After that unplug the device and shut down trough pressing power for some seconds.
Press volume+ and power at the same time and you will boot into the custom recovery. Here you're gonna flash the myrom.img.
When that is done you should flash the stock recovery with the same procedure like you did with twrp.
Now you could flash the B609 with the dload method.
I'm sorry if this all is a bit messy, I'm just writing on my phone and I'm a bit tired..
Victory.....
Many thanks for your help I'm on b621 now.
Nice, your welcome?

[Recovery][LG-H960A] TWRP v3.0.2-0 (unofficial)

This is an unofficial TWRP port for LG-H960A.
Thanks to @KAsp3rd and @GROGG88
I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. YOU DO EVERYTHING AT YOUR OWN RISK.
READ EVERYTHING and MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE YOU START.
Instructions:
1. You must be on newest stock Marshmallow: H960A20a_00_0316.kdz
You can use LG Bridge to install official update, or download .kdz file HERE
2. You need to have bootloader ulocked.
Official instructions are here: ( Unlocking the Bootloader @ LG Developer )
Remember that this will completely WIPE YOUR DATA, you will LOSE WARRANTY and this operation is IRREVERSIBLE.
3. Flash TWRP.
I assume you got ADB and FASTBOOT drivers working and adb is paired (it should be if you completed step 2).
Connect your phone to your pc, open command prompt and reboot to bootloader:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Your phone should reboot and you should be welcomed by Fastboot Mode screen.
Now download the recovery file (below) to your pc, unpack (to get .img) and rename it to recovery.img and put it in folder where you got command prompt open and:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Boot to TWRP.
As on Marshmallow some fastboot commands are not working and LG is restoring recovery on every boot (so you cant use "adb reboot recovery" right now) you need to use one trick.
DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PHONE.
When still in fastboot from step 3 you need to turn off your phone completely. You can do that by holding power button or if that is not working take the battery out.
Now (put the battery in) and press POWER + VOL DOWN buttons. When you see LG logo release the POWER button (while still holding VOL DOWN) and press POWER button again.
You should see a screen which is asking you if you want to factory reset your phone. Don't worry - if you made everything correctly it should not wipe your phone.
Use volume and power buttons to choose YES (twice) - and you should see a TWRP screen (after a while)
WARNING: IF YOU REBOOTED YOUR PHONE AFTER FLASHING RECOVERY THIS STEP WILL REALLY ERASE ALL DATA. You need to flash recovery again (step 3)
5. (optional) flash SuperSU to get root.
Get SuperSU from official thread and put it in your phone.
While in TWRP from step 4 your phone should be recognized by ADB. Use below to move file to sdcard.
Code:
adb push BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip /sdcard/supersu.zip
Now in TWRP click Install, go to /sdcard/ and chooose supersu.zip. Follow instructions. After install you should choose to wipe cache/dalvik and reboot to system.
Your phone should be rooted now.
Download:
twrp-3.0.2.0-0-h960a.img.zip
(unpack .zip to get flashable .img)
Issues:
- Layout is wrong, status bar is being drawn on second screen.
- Date/time is wrong.

Hi,
that's just great, thanks a lot.
As root is now possible has anyone tried to install xposed on th H960A?
I'm wondering if the second screen fix for the Telekom V10 also works with the H960A.
What about Viper4Android and AdAway?

As root is now possible has anyone tried to install xposed on th H960A?
I'm wondering if the second screen fix for the Telekom V10 also works with the H960A.
What about Viper4Android and AdAway?

Didn't try xposed but I think it should work (if it's working on other V10 models - they are not that different). I just recently bought V10 and was disappointed in dpi, so I needed root to patch second screen to be dpi-independent.
Also: why would you want things like Viper4Android when you got really good sounding hifi dac onboard?

Are there any other known issues? I don`t need to install any custom roms. I need it only for root and xposed on Marshmallow. Is there something that can surprise me?

For sure it's enough to flash packages and get root. Xposed is independent from recovery so I can't say anything about that.
Testing are up to you guys. Don't be afraid as this phone is not easy to brick.

Quite simple answer. The onboard Hifi DAC only works with cable headphones. Viper4Android also supports Bluetooth devices.

Could you write a small guide about the dpi change (I prefer 540-580)?
Thanks in advance.

There is still a long way, right now second screen FCs are fixed, but layouts are still wrong. I don't know if I can fix it to be truly dpi-independent but I think 560 is optimal value for this screen.
Is this working with
H960a
V20a-AME-xx??
1k views and only 11 "thanks"??? Really? Guys! We need support devs! Big THANK YOU for ur hard work @rudi666. I haven't try ur method yet but I am happy with the fact that something is beginning to happen with v10

I did try his method and it worked like a charm. Ok, you'll have to reflash TWRP if you want to use it but I'm sure it's just a matter of time until we have permanent TWRP like th T-Mobile V10 obviously has.
Thanks to rudi666 I have root, xposed, adaway and viper4audio up and running on my V10. And as there are no interesting custom roms to flash in my opinion it does not matter that I'd need to reflash TWRP. If you plan your flashing in advance you can flash all zip files in one go. No real need for TWRP afterwards.
Thanks guys. Unfortunately I see there is not much going on in V10 scene, and it's a shame.

Hm.. if you follow instructions you should get permanent TWRP, just try "adb reboot recovery" to test it if you don't want to risk clearing data when using button combination. There is a file called /system/boot-from-recovery.p which is 'restoring recovery' on every boot (that's why there is an info in instruction about not rebooting your phone the first time), but after all the steps this file will be patched. I don't remember if the first use of TWRP or flashing SuperSU does it, but you should get permanent recovery. If not you can always rename this file manually.

Hi,
I will try that again and see if I can get permanent TWRP. But as I said currently there is no real requirement for that. I flashed SuperSU and both files for xposed when I first booted into recovery and that is all I need at the moment.
i cant enter bootloader

after adb reboot booloader it keeb restart to soft

[ZE601KL] Official Marshmallow WW_V21.40.1220.1698 ROOT and TWRP install

P/S: Im sorry if im against this XDA or forums rules. Its my first time to post something. If i done something wrong kindly let me know.
Condition: You have Official Marshmallow WW_V21.40.1220.1698 installed on your ZE601KL (I forgot to mention that Im coming from CM13, that makes it need bootloader unlock n root probably?)
TWRP install:
-go into fastboot mode (shut down your phone. press VOL UP + POWER at the same time until it vibrates and release)
-download and install adb (can get it here i guess. credit to @snoop005 )
-download twrp here (credit to maintainer @LuK1337) and put it in the ADB folder
-in ur pc hold shift + right click and click "open command window here" in ADB folder
-type in "fastboot device" and make sure ur device is detected
-type in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (recovery.img must be the same name with the twrp that u hv downloaded eg:fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-4-Z00T.img )
-type in "fastboot boot recovery.img" (recovery.img must be the same name with the twrp that u hv downloaded eg:fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-4-Z00T.img )
-look at ur phone and it should be installed
Root install
-download SuperSU (credit to @Chainfire) (thanks to @Cr0ssL1nk for notify me about the updated SuperSU! )
-boot to recovery (shut down your phone. press VOL DOWN + POWER at the same time until it vibrates and release)
-select install and browse for the .zip file location
-wait for the installation done and ure good to go
It works on my ZE601KL!!!
Thank you very much xyexiaoyuer in your first post
I would assume this process is the same for any of the variants for which the bootloader is already unlocked and assuming you use the correct TWRP image.
If nothing else, it should work for any Z00T phone. I'll try it on my ZE551KL tonight.

On the "fastboot boot recovery.img", I first got it to successfully transfer over something, then the second line said that it failed.
I continually did this and got the same results and my phone continued to say "fastboot" in the corner, so I wasn't sure if anything had happened.
I finally "gave up" and pulled the battery but I booted into the Recovery (Vol down + Power) and found that TWRP actually was installed and from there I flashed over SuperSU and was rooted in minutes.
Great job, and thanks! I may be a bit rusty with all this since this is my first Android device in about 3 years.

Boot twrp, not flash it to root?
Does anyone know if it his possible to just boot twrp from adb/ fasboot( not actually flash it), flash SuperSU to root my device, then reboot to stock to keep stock recovery ? My bootloader is unlocked.

Thanks, but I am pretty sure Flashing twrp writes over stock recovery and unless someone else has the stock image, you can't get it back. I don't know how to make a backup of stock recovery, that's why I wondered if only booting twrp will work.

if ure using ze601kl, i think the stock recovery can be downloaded here .. download according to your version of firmware of course =) let me know if its work for you. the last time im coming from cm13 to Lollipop im using recovery from there to write off twrp. hope this helps =)
Thanks, that's a great resource! I kind of hijacked this thread since I have the ze551kl. Even though its a zoot model, I'm reluctant to flash anything that is not the exact model firmware. Will the 601 image work for the 551?

You can boot into TWRP without overwriting your stock recovery using:
HTML:
fastboot boot twrp.img
That would allow you to install SuperSU without actually installing TWRP. If you want to replace stock recovery with TWRP, you would use:
HTML:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Are you sure your phone is truely rooted and that apps needing root really works ?
Because in the official SuperSU page on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 , the developpers says your phone must already be rooted before flashing SuperSU.
Also, change the 2.76 Beta's link you gived for SuperSU in your tutorial to the 2.76 Stable version from my link to the official SuperSU XDA page.

Welp! now that i check back using "root check" apps it seems that the app hv some trouble to detect whether the phone is rooted. the last time everything was okay except for busybox. Perhaps because i rebooted the device? nvrtheless i will update the link and test the stable supersu given in the link

I don't think rebooting caused this.
The thing that makes me worry is that Busybox was not okay the first time you rooted your phone, because it must be one of the first thing that must be ok when you root a phone.
Have you got any updates on your side about making root really working ?

No problem, proofs are just great ! :highfive:
Also, check this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67978015&postcount=8
Because you also must allow SuperSU in ASUS' Autostart Manager, that may be the problem you also got.
But please remember: Do not post something that seems to work but is not, a Beta or something not stable to other people without a lot of checking first

Thanks to everyone's help and ideas and especially to @rczrider. On my ze551kl, I successfully booted the twrp.img in fastboot, did a backup through twrp, then installed supersu zip, and successfully rooted. No overwrite of stock recovery with all the root privileges. Perfect.
