Does anyone know a way to remove the persistent WiFi calling notification?
If I'm not mistaken, if you turn off WiFi calling in settings menu, it will stop notifying you about turning it on etc etc. Does that help? At least I haven't seen any notifications since turning the feature off. Hope it helps.

if you want the notification to go away but retain the functionality there are instructions about it in the FAQ here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698787 question 25

If you're rooted and use Xposed, there's a module called NotifyClean that allows you to manage all notifications. It's what I've been using for this and a number of other notifications.
Why doesn't anyone ever suggest longpressing the notification? When you longpress the notification, go to App Info, and uncheck the show notifications box.
It works on the stock Rom as well. This is a KitKat feature that I never saw mentioned anywhere. This feature is great for games without a way to stop push notifications, and for apps with ongoing notifications that aren't helpful at all.
That is grayed out on stock unrooted.

hi,
I have the driving mode for Assist enabled, but even when I'm not driving, and the phone is on vibrate, an incoming text message is read aloud.
does anyone know if this can be disabled, while driving in Assist is still active?
thanks!
yikes! it's happening even with Assist for driving disabled. help!
In settings accessibility is talk back off?
yes. apparently this is a known bug: http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-x/309526-moto-x-text-messages.html
thanks, androidcentral!
Use a third party texting app, and turn off notifications in the stock app.

Hey, my wife has the xperia tl, completely stock, and upgraded to latest update. Recently, the push notifications for text messages have stopped, so she doesn't know that she has any texts unless she opens the stock texting app (she doesn't use non-stock texting app). All the settings in the texting app are correct, and I've spent some time on Google, but can't find anything. So, asking for help on this.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly with "push notifications". But if your wife's phone has Extended Standby function enabled, reminder notifications are actually not working.
You may consider giving Smart Notify a try (Google Play).
No status bar notification, no indication at all that a new text has come. Facebook and email notifications work fine.
Extended standby is not enabled. Smart Notify, even with correct settings, does not alleviate the problem. Other ideas?

If you place a Contacts Direct Message shortcut on your screen, does it show the no. 1 when a message has been received from this contact?
I am a noob, so don't expect anything from my input, just ideas regarding things I'd try.
was having a texting issue myself latley with a TL. Did a master reset and everything is working perfectly again. just make sure to back everything up
So I'm trying out blocking mode (picked up the S5 on an extra line I'm not using to try it out). I have notifications, calls, alarms all set to be blocked. The time is checked as "always", but I'm still receiving emails, as well as when I text from another phone, it comes right on through. The allowed contacts is "none". Anyone else tried this? Did I miss a setting?

shouldn't stop them from coming through it only stops the notifications for them, in other words no sound or vibration. i havent used it personally but that is how it is supposed to work
Ah ha. I get it. Thanks. I guess I was assuming like an "airplane mode that allows wifi" lol

Hello everyone.
I've updated to 5.0.1 and I've been having issues with updates basically I'm not getting notifications for my Emails or WhatsApp or any other app for that matter, i have to manually go into my apps to get my notifications. For example, once I go to my WhatsApp i get my messages all at the same time (iOS style) and also my emails, I have to go into my mail box to refresh to get my emails. Is this an issue or i'm missing something in the settings?
I searched before starting this thread couldn't find anything.

Sounds like you need to do a factory reset. Always good with an update anyway.

tell me, are you using greenify? i had the same issue for a day, until i found whats causing it. i never greenify my apps with notifications first off. greenify has a setting to keep notifications, when i enabled it i stopped getting any notifications. as soon as i disabled it and rebooted, i got notifications again.
I just did a factory reset and it seems that it has solved the issues so far so good.

Hi Everyone,
I don't know whether it has been asked or not before, but i searched the forum, and didn't find anything related to it.
OK, my point is that i do not receive notifications or messages from whatsapp, insta etc whether it is in normal mode or power saving turn on.
Also i have disabled all the relevant battery options, which may can cause the issue like adaptive battery(turned off), Put unused apps to sleep, sleeping apps(not a single app in sleeping app), auto disabled unused app and optimised settings.
I have to open app to see messages.
Please suggest some workaround. and share your experience also.
Thanks
Have you checked app notification settings? On Oreo, you can find this in individual app settings.
And have you given notification permission to any app like Tasker, Pushbullet, Nova or even your Wearable Companion? Regarding latter, do you have any wearable connected?

i do not use such type of apps, permissions and other things are perfect, The issue is that i have to open app to see my messages, when i open app, i receive notifications also, seems app were sleeping, but in actual they are not.
I'm having the same issue. I've disabled all battery saving and app killing features, yet most apps that send push notifications don't auto update at all. I have to go into the app manually.
Example I just installed a new package tracking app, since my other one wasn't sending push notifications. I just opened it and BOOM 4 notifications. Yet I have it set to push those to me as they update..
What gives?
