Hello all
I am using now custom stock 4.4.4 ROM with white UI, and I want to change UI to black UI with Xperia theme.
I don't want to replace my ROM to Black ROM.
So, Is it possible with Xperia theme ?
I saw new theme on xperiablog and Google play called Blue Note and that theme can change font color:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So, can someone change the font color to white and make black background ?
and If someone did it, does the theme will cause some problems on other apps? like hidden text:silly:

That theme doesn't work well with white UI.
It can't change the font color to white and the background to black!

No idea then
If you have root and Xposed installer seach for "Holo themer". It allowes you to change the color of several system apps. With GEM you can force the navbar and statusbar to be black in settings instead of gray

I am asking if it is possible with xperia theme, because Blue note theme can change font color to blue.
So, why nobody try to edit any stock theme and change font color to white with black wallpaper.

I am very noob for making theme. I tried before then I stopped because I have to study , but If I got free time I will try to learn.
Here I am giving idea for themers/developers. So, they maybe can make dark theme for white UI.
Instead of making black ROM edition, they maybe can make full black xperia theme.

You, my friend, just solved my issue: I wasn't able to change the text color with my Lollipop theme. Thanks to the theme you used as an example (Blue Note), I've done it. I'll share the results here later
As to your question: everything can be done with a Xperia Theme, including dark background and white fonts. Of course, everything may not fit perfectly and lots of testing is required.
Thank you!

Well I was half wrong... The Action Bar (title bar) text color and the items text color (Wifi, Bluetooth, etc. when in Settings) change altogether, so I can't just change the title bar color to white and keep the rest of the text black...
It works OK on the Blue note theme because everything changes to blue, but not when you want some parts white and some parts black... :crying:
For your dark theme request: you would change the background to black, make the text white, but then you'd go to the dialer and find white text on top of white buttons, "ghost text" as you said.
Sorry... (I'm not an expert themer, so many things slip through my fingers)

So,what I understand that we can choose only one font for all system parts
and if we want white font, we will need to change that dialer background
Thank you. You just made a beginning :good: others maybe they can do it. "hopefully"
@ibanez7
@xXWeresXx
@niaboc79
Can one of you make it?
I think it is not very important to use white font color for dark theme,
because I think it is not possible to change dialer background.
@antonio1475 try to make dark theme with purple font color and purple accent color.
I think it will look nice and it will be first dark theme for white UI

you do can change text color in action bar and change dialer background aswell, i dont have my pc right now but if you need help let me know, you just have to override the styles take a look to styling the action bar in android development.

I know (guess) I can, but it's not my intention as I'm making a Lollipop theme. I'd love to change just the action bar text color and keep the rest of the text black, would you know anything about that?
I bumped into this thread and discovered how to change the text colors, sorry for mixing my project into this request...
@AltairFriend I can't make themes now, I can't even finish mine, but I encourage you to learn (the best themes are made by yourself, as you can make it yours and as you like), and I'll be glad to assist you

do you want to change the color only in the themed apps ? if so you have to go to styles.xml and add a new attribute
<item name="android:textColor"=#HEXVALUE</item> in the main app theme... but if you want to change the default text color in every sony app, in framework-res.apk go to res>color>semc_widget_text_color_dark and semc_widget_text_color_light and change the hex values to whatever color you want to use.

So...awhile back I posted a few pic's of my own personal theme that I was using.
A few people said "they really liked it" and wanted me to share...
So...here I am.

I asked Branden from http://alldroid.org (Super cool Guy) if he would put it together for everyone if I supplied the files I personally use.
And there you go.

Any updates? This theme looks awesome.
The black bar mod w/o hero icons, tray, settings is just lame to me. Once again, this is just my opinion, others may like it. What I would like to see with this theme is a transparent notifications bar. That would make this theme complete. Once again, I'm not sure how difficult that would be, but it would definitely help this theme move to uber status!

Probably will be released sometime this week.
That battery icon is killing the theme for me...perhaps the white outlinish one, set to some transparency?

I believe the reason is because the background behind the notification bar is black so when set to transparent, you have a black bar... or so I've been told that's why.
please release today!! the 2nd pic looks nice!!!!
in eclair its really easy to make top bar transparent as theres no background image in eclair. thnx wicked_beav for the idea. but the prob is that in case of tranaparent notification bar its tough to see the font. if u use black font color and black wallpaper then u cant see the font and if u use white font and white background then again u cant see the font.
btw htcclay: bro how did u change the font color of top bar to white?

thnx david for the link. actually i have been changing color of font of statusbar in 1.5 cupcake for hero by reading that thread and another thread by fxn. and to change ticker color and date color i need to change settextcolor values in statusbarservices.smali file. but problem is that theres NO settextcolor field in statusbarservices.smali in ECLAIR. so i cant change colors now. if any1 has managed to know which fields to change to change font color in Eclair it wud be much appreciated. cheers

I've been trying to theme with very little success. Guess I'm still a super newb. Anyway, does anyone know if it's possible to make a CM7 Theme Chooser theme that is a stock CM7 theme but with Androidian's black carrier label/ notification power widget background?
Thank you for your responses.

Oh so it's not possible for now? I'm trying to edit the files, but I have very little idea aside from stat_power_background.9.png
I can edit that file to make the background of the notification widget bg black, but I don't know which file to edit the whole carrier label section to black.
So, I'm new to this theming business. However, I've noticed that there's NO themes that gives one a solid black font on light backgrounds and a solid white on dark backgrounds.
Cant someone tell me how to create a theme that does this? AND if it's possible (most likely not) keep the colour on icons like the quicktoggles blue or something like that. That'd be cool to get some help with.
Thanks,

Hello guys!
I have made a new theme called RedBlack. I have tried to customize many things. Hope you guys like it.
Features
1. Coloured icons in settings.
2. Changed icons of wifi,nfc,wifi hotspot etc.
3. Coloured arrows showing in out going of data.
4. Battery icon will change its colour from green to yellow,orange and red.
5. Red and Black combination used ( my favourite colours ).
6. Amazing glow red colour in notification panel.
7. Very cute icons (credit goes to @maximax2795 )
8. Changed nav bar icons.
Installation
1. Unzip the file and put "RedBlack.hwt" in HwThemes folder.
2. Select RedBlack in theme app and then apply with fonts and restart to change navigation bar icons.
3. Please reapply the wallpaper by long pressing the screen. (Because wallpaper looks horrible when zoomed and for some reason it always zooms the wallpaper when applying even though resolution of wallpaper is perfectly 1080x1920)
You guys can see that wallpaper looks very nice if you reapply it.
You guys know how to appreciate my work

You didn't ask me if you could use my icons, settings icons, notification bar icons, dialer, system UI and navigation bar buttons.
This is nearly a completly rip-off of my theme (in which i put a lot of time and work!) with just some changes.
Please remove this theme, or change big parts of it!
Nice theme
Well whoever made it its a dam nice theme!

Can you make all the backgrounds semi transparent?
Hey guys,
I just installed the deep darkness theme on my OPO and the theme over all is great how ever the notifications are almost unreadable. They text is in grey with the background being white. The 'title' of the notification is white on a white background which makes the entire theme somewhat useless. I've tried enabling the notification style from a different theme but it doesn't seem to work.
Even if I reboot my phone, the original deep darkness notifications remain.
Does anyone know how I could edit the text colour of the notifications?
Thanks guy!

In notification style use white color for text and set notification baground color to black and soft reboot or restart system ui.
If this would not worked then u have to change the theme!
And postsuch things in questions and anwsers. That is appropriate threads
