I have some questions on this device. I have one on the way and wonder what are the differences between it and the GSM variant? Will the root procedure listed work? Will there be development done for it? Will the ROMs that exist work?

bump? got my device today. htcdev don't even let me select desire c as my device? what am, i missing?
Othet supported devices or something works just fine.
Don't try to flash any roms that are for gsm version, or you'll have problems mate.

So I got bootloader unlocked on my HTC Desire C CDMA(RadioShack Wireless{Cricket}). I tried to flash the recovery on : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004198 but got only an error saying not to redistribute the HTC software, and never actually booted into recovery when I tried. It still boots bootloader and regular fine, just no recovery? Can't flash the su.zip with no recovery correct?Anyone could look into building a recovery for CDMA variant? Or steer me in the right direction to build my own?
No one can help? I just want a working root and recovery for the CDMA version... Not to knowledgeable on building recovery, but I have some experience...

Same here
I got the same problem, looks like all these toolkits and roms for the htc desire c are for the gsm versions. Check everywhere on google and can't seem to find any rom or recovery for the cdma version! :-$ We'll just have to wait for an RUU. If you find a way to fix it let me know. Thanks in advance.

By the way, i flashed a rom that was for htc desire c but didn't work and now nothing works but the bootloader, i need the boot.img and system.img to make it work again
hey guys i have a CDMA desire c and ive mangeged to flash cwm and all the roms (From nameless v1 to revoultion v2.1) no problems at all :L i think it may be as i still have a really old GSM sim in it (becasue it has such good rates on it)
CDMA phones don't use sim cards, if your desire c uses sim card then it's a GSM not CDMA, nameless rom and evolution work well on GSM but don't work on CDMA desire c.

That doesn't seem to be the case for me. Like OP, I am having the exact same problem. Radioshack HTC Desire C but getting that message anytime I try to access recovery in my bootloader. Radioshack are an MVNO piggybacking on Cricket's service and they're CDMA so it's something to do with that.

If you can't get to recovery try flashing this one its the stock recovery for the Radioshack HTC Desire C.
I hope it helps!
No CDMA (to date afaik) for Cricket on XDA.
Check my posts history or search forums for HTC Desire C Cricket, has external link for that device

The red text saying Do Not Redistribute is because you have unlocked the bootloader and (if you rooted) do not have the Stock Bootloader installed.

If you have to switch ROMs, flash a Stock ROM and Stock Kernel!
Even though it worked with Maximus HD 5.0 for me.

I've downloaded the same exact one from the web site 3 different times, I tried e-mailing, but gmail & other web based e-mail providers do not allowed files bigger than 25mb. But I downloaded the apk off of theroot.ninja 3 different times and same error with each test.

upload it to google drive or dropbox, and email me the link.
Try it on mobile network, or a different wifi network.
Works perfectly on Android Revolution 8.0.
Did not reboot at end. Waited 10 mins and then rebooted manually.
Thanks.

can you link me to the exact zip for your rom so I can look?
Custom roms with bugs drive me nuts.

How did you unlock the bootloader using sunshine? How did you gain root access
I've been searching for a way to root my HTC Desire 626 (verizon) for the purpose of flashing a custom Rom. Im having trouble getting a straight answer . Has anyone made any progress or know something I don't.
Hello, i have HTC Desire 626 with 2gb RAM and 16gb ROM and android 5.1 with sense 7. I buy this phone in poland.
Update is real for this phone ?
What is the exact model of your phone? I have 16GB/2GB version with 1.7GHz Octa core CPU it is HTC Desire 626q (a32ml)
I joined to questions. Htc desire 626 (a32ul) T-mobile. Apparently appeared post with Tmobile PL Tmobile DE and sends updates (http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/general/htc-desire-626-a32ul-android-6-0-1-t3407990) but it's probably some sort of mistake.
Sorry for my English
Hello. For those interested in HTC Desire 626 T-Mobile PL got updates to Android 6.0.1
Will this rom works on HTC_D626q (a32ml_htc_Asia_TW)..
Really needs help guys ..
Im pretty sure the only way to do that is with s-off and supercid because the only way to flash is with the RUU. And that's dangerous if the desire 626q is very different than the 626s. So I'm pretty sure the answer is no.
Not to be a spelling and nazi but.... Marshmallow.. autocorrect??
