Hello
Looking to give an aosp based rom a try despite the poorer sound quality that is to be expected. Quite a few recommend Viper4Android from the Play store.
Can anyone recommend some optimal settings for this app to help boost the sound volume and quality, including what driver options to use when installing the app?
Many thanks.

I Love PAC and Carbon ROM and CM 10.2 and all derivatives but the thing that stops them from being my daily driver is the sound quality. i can't find anything to match the sound quality from stock rom with PureXaudio. I am currently on
Does anyone have any recommendations as to any AOSP sound mods please? I would love to go AOSP but i listen to music a lot and i cant live with the sound quality through my headphones on AOSP.
Thanks if anyone has any tips suggestions.
hey there is a modified dsp manager package by eng stk..search on google and flash it(v4.6) and u will be amazed by the audio quality.just like the great audio quality on cm 9 and before.by the way only flash that package on cm 10.2 rom.it is there in xda.
We can not create music variety in Oneplus3t, there is no way we can increase bass or mid range..
Please suggest any dolby music improvements as it is i Lenovo phones.

I'm running Viper4Android with Ahrion's Audio Modification Library and ViPER4Android FX Magisk Modules and getting some amazingly clear sound. I'm using Vertex ROM though.

For now if you wanna listen music just use MIUI ROM because for now, most custom rom have a bad sound bug if use headphones uses jack port. For Bluetooth i don't know tho, i never use a Bluetooth headphones before so i can't tell, but i think the bug will affect Bluetooth too.
There is a great sound mod called "Ainur Sauron"
Here is the link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
You just have to flash it, no need to setup anything else
I don't think it is compatible with MIUI
So you can try flashing it on a custom ROM
I've been using it for a while now, and my audio output improved greatly.
Hope this helps

Are you on earphones when the volume lowers? If so, maybe the V4A setting called "auditory system protection" causes it. Also, disable notification sounds/enable silent mode while you are playing music, or change the Poweramp audio focus setting (Poweramp -> settings -> audio -> untick Short Audio Focus change)
I used to have the same problem as you, when I was using Xtreme music mod and Dolby Atmos.

Can i flash this over dolby atmos? I need louder sound quality especially for dialogues through speakers. Dolby is already doing a great job. Should this one do any improvement? Or should i uninstall dolby and flash this? Need louder sound on speakers

This mod is compatible with all other audio mods, but make a backup of your system in case anything goes wrong. Try flashing it over your Dolby
I tried flashing Ainur first then Dolby, the Dolby app crashed.

Hello,
I want to ask which is the best sound mod for rooted with magisk Xperia XZ1 compact with android pie crDroid rom?
Due to the purchase of studio headphones, I need an amplified signal with a clear sound and clear bass boost. Maybe you can help me?
On my previous phone - Xperia Z2 tired:
-- dolby digital plus- It's just OK, louder, clearer sound but I got version without bass boost which is too less for me... (of you have dolby with bass boost, can you give me a link please its name is a bit different - dolby atmos )
--Sony music engine - it didn't work, but I remember from stock system, there was nice bass boost but without sound enhancement
--XTREMEMusic mod which gives you really nice options like 32bit, popular sound engines included in one but I have problem with launch equaliser UI. I couldn't find it anywhere I have written mail to Developer but I haven't been answered.
--viper4android unfortunately, I couldn't install it and it forced me to change selinux so I gave up.
Maybe you know some useful advices, or other soundmods.
Now I'm on CrDroid customRom with dolby digital plus, dloby atmos is incompatible. But I remember that stock system with enabled deeshx gives pretty good effect. Now I hear difference between old z2s dac and current. It's much louder especially with dolby. But still I'm searching for perfect and safe mod.
Hey!
Have you tried installing the viper4android app made by Team DeWitt? It can be found on xda labs. I was using a magisk module before, but always had problems. Then I found the app. It was easy to install and is working flawlessly. And there is no need to disable SeLinux for the app to be working. I am using it on LineageOS 15.1.

Thank you, I'll try it
Oh yeah!
I successfully installed Viper on crDroid. It is much better than dolby digital plus on our XZ1. Definitely. Now I'm using it. Thank you very much elChorche, and of course devs of Viper.
Thread is still active . I encourage you to write here if you know something different or have any questions connected with topic best sound for xperia xz1 compact.
[you may ask why Dolby Digital Plus is worse than Viper4android? [/B]
Dolby Digital Plus:
Advantages:
-Simplified equaliser
-groups like movies music game and custom
-Louder
-Surround
Disadvantages:
-Too less options
-too less bass and no separated management
-works strange, sometimes louder sometimes just normal
V4a:
Advantages:
-Too many options
-Clear pure bass
-you can crate many groups in speared bt, headset and USB
-Many sound corrections
-not only one Surround
Disadvantages:
-You have to spend a while to learn how to use it
BTW:
What is the best set in your opinion? I tested a couple of options with my earphones and some bt devices sitting and listening with my friend.

Perhaps these questions would be answered on the Viper4 thread?

Maybe you are right.
What I meant was sharing settings best for our XZ1C DAC.
Anyway, thank you
Have you noticed that the mic quality on custom ROMs are all absolutely horrible? The mic is too soft and just sounds bad overall. Well, I definitely did and I am pleased to say after some tinkering, I've found a solution.
The solution:
- Download the ASUS Sound Recorder app. You won't be able to install this on the Play Store as it will say that your device is incompatible. You have to go to a website that provides the APKs. Orrrrr... you can click on me to download a version that has been tested to work. By simply installing this app, your mic will sound much much better overall.
