Just received my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. It's being charged up right now. I'll let everyone know hows the sound quality tonight.
Paid: 99.99 + 5.95 Shipping = 105.94
Edited: Here is what i have experienced with this unit.
Here are the Specs: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hbh-ds980?cc=&lc=
Sound: Great Clarity and rich Bass( Sounds like your in a car thats equipped with Sound System)
Range: Since it is Bluetooth Version 2.0 , it has better range than any other bluetooth headset Version 1.2. ( My previous Stereo Bluetooth by LG HBS-110 was V1.2. While listening to music, it got cut off when i went into another room, and came back on when it was in line of sight.) On the Sony Ericsson, it was cutting off a little bit but not completely off, and can go farther than like the LG)
so far thats with the Music portion. Still have to play around with it more to see whats great about it.

Munchies, I ordered it from http://mobilecityonline.com They are located in NY
I ordered it on 12/11/07 at night and it got here 12/14/07 in the afternoon. I choose their cheapest shipping, but it got here faster than it was scheduled.

I think Sony DR-BT Serie is better. Its more a Headset for Bluetooth MP3 Player. They have better DA-Converter inside. I use in the moment ... DR-BT50.

i've been using the Sony DR-BT10CX for the past few months and am very pleased with the sound quality i am receiving. i am having two major problems that i do not know how to fix:
1. every time i go to connect the headset to the phone, i have to go into the bluetooth settings, uncheck the boxes a) wireless stereo and b) headset, then save those changes. then i have to go back into the settings and re-check the boxes and save. - this is a nightmare of an issue, when the headset should simply connect automatically when turned on.
2. making calls is fine, but when a call is received it does not answer through the headset, but through the phone. pointless if you are driving for example...
if anyone knows how i can fix this, i'd love to hear a solution...
MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver
I'm using the MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver to stream music to me car stereo via 3.5mm input cable and to me earbuds when I am riding on my motorcycle. It connects quickly, sounds good and lasts about a week between charges. I only commute about an hour a day. I got it for $80 at Fry Electronics. I have seen a few of them ob ebay as well.
HT820 + Telus P3050 Touch
I have the Motorola HT820 on a Telus Touch P3050 Vogue and it is very good. I am pleased with my choice.
Sadly I must say stay away from the BlueAnt X5's...horrid sound quality. It seems that the sony's have good sound quality, at least as good as a wired buds that are included. The X5's are much worse. Less spatial seperation, more "muddy" sound, just not good.
Everything I've heard and read about the Jawbone BT headset says that it's a very high quality unit, with excellent noise reduction/cancellation properties. I'll be getting one when I save up some pennies. (10,000 pennies to go!)
i'm using the BlueAnt Z9 with the new 3.4 firmware update and, for me, it's loud and clear with the Vogue. i actually have to turn it down...i have not had any complaints from others when using the headset. when i purchased the Z9 it had the 3.0 firmware and the volume was very acceptable to me. also, the 3.0 firmware allowed you to control the volume with the phone. with the 3.4 firmware, all volume is controlled by the headset.
Jawbone
I have the black jawbone best bluetooth I have used thus far and I have tested quite a few. connects flawlesly and quickly as soon as you turn it on and the noise cancelation that the jawbone is famous for actualy works
I have an old wep150 (samsung) I got it for another phone about a year and a half ago. Its sounds worse on the vogue than it did on my motorola phones. I hope to get a nice stero headset for listening to music and calls. I'm glad to hear the sound quality is good for these devices.
BT
I use the Jabra BT 5020 works awesome on my sprint (cdma) touch. Long life too.. I have always like the jabra products. You can also pair it with multiple devices. it has vibrate.
Timdawg
Just got the SE HBH-DS970 and it works pretty well. the call display only shows the number not the name unfortunetly. And My music tracks don't seem to show up on the screen. Any one else experience this?
I just got the new MOTOPURE H12 the other day and really like it. I got rid of the Jabra BT8010 because I felt like I had to yell into it. This new H12 is pricey at $129.00 but worth it because I am in the car alot. This thing is very small and very light. It comes with a cool desktop charger and carrying case that you can use as a charger also. Here is a link http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/h12/
Good question, CCRRAR!
Has anybody got a bluetooth to work with Voice Command??! The closest I've gotten has been with the Blue Ant Z9, I manage a RadioShack, and we just started carrying that unit. It is small, lightweight, comfortable, and very good volume. Better than almost any Motorola bluetooth re: volume. The plantronics are good volume as well, but a bit bulkier. But the Blue Ant actually recognizes Voice Command! The problem, like most, is it doesn't recognize the confirmation.
Very Frustrating!
Anyone found a fix? I've tried some that profess to be the "true fix" but no luck.

I am able to connect to my car and use it to make and receive calls with no issues. When I attempt to stream music to the car it connects but the car will not let me switch to the phone audio to play the stream. I think it could be a bug with the ROM.
Anyone else able to use Bluetooth for music streaming in their car?
getting my One wednesday if my Best Buy rep was accurate, and BlueTooth music better work, that's what I always use for playback!
Using it with an HS3000 hard wired into my headunit for the audio profile while simultaneously connected to the headunit itself for the phone profile and its working fine. Perhaps theres a firmware update for the headunit in your car?
I'm not able to get it to see my Sony Automotive Bluetooth player but I haven't messed with it while not driving to really go in to it.

You are receiving the audio through the 3.5mm jack. My phone connects to the car and audio calls work great. I'm also having an issue with my TV. It shows connected but no audio plays, however when I press the volume on the phone it changes on the TV. I'm thinking something is missing or messed up in the ROM. I'm not sure if this is happening with other versions. It would be good to know.

Well your question seemed to be a question of bluetooth connectivity using the audio profile, so i gave you one example of when it does work for me. It doesn't matter that its outputting from the HS3000's 3.5mm in to a line in in my car, the audio gets to the dongle is the point i was getting at. Here are a few other things i have tested with it since i was curious as to whether this is a bug:
Moto S305, LG Tone, LG Tone+, Francois et Mimi Trois speaker, generic bt speaker i got as a door prize, and a samsung soundbar. Nobody can help you test whether there is a bug if there no information as to what you're trying to connect to other than "your car". As far as i know your car's bt protocols might be outdated and HTC left out some code for their BT drivers to work with older systems or if it is a genuine bug.
I appreciate your input, I thought you meant the cable was connected to your phone. It's wierd that I have a 2013 car and my EVO 4G LTE and an S4 both work but the new M8 doesn't.
I have no problem with streaming over BT to my car stereo or routing phone calls through it. I do have stuttering audio while streaming, however, which upsets me greatly.
I went back to the car and started messing around with settings and it now works. I had to disable and enable audio streaming. Audio is clean and crisp. Thanks for the feedback!

At times my audio will not come through. turning off BT in the car and turning it back on seems to allow the audio to work.....
I do however get the audio stuttering from time to time. Sounds like a CD skip almost. Yea I have been trying to figure out if there is a setting missing or something....most likely a bug though.....
Is the stuttering with all apps? I havent had much issue now but on my evolte i used ti get stutters whenever i transitioned towers or went screen off using gonemad and some flacs, poweramp seemed to be a bit better at it though.

Wow, not good. It's posts like these that help me to be more patient as I wait for my upgrade in July. Hopefully the little one like these are ironed out by that time.
I'm also getting random Bluetooth skips. Probably kernel related.

phone is not the issue here. Most smartphones have the capability to stream music over BT. The problem is usually when your car is setup to only handle calls over BT, nothing more. there's a workaround for this: You use Mono Bluetooth app in combination with your favorite music player app. It's not HD, but it works.

It seems my factory car stereo (which is only a year old) doesn't like the M8. I tried my 7 year old BT headphones and they streamed like champs. Stupid factory head units . I'm trying a couple of changes in audio_policy.conf to see if they make a difference. I don't think kernel is the issue here.

Does your radio have the ability to turn Bluetooth audio streaming on/off? That's what worked for me with my factory unit.

No.
Alright, fixed up my streaming issue. I'll explain later and post a fix. Busy right now.
So what I ended up doing was updating audio_policy.conf in /system/etc to allow lower bit rate audio over BT/A2DP. Currently the file only allows streaming at 48000, while some devices can only handle good ol' 44100. Adding in the additional value seems to have smoothed out my streaming for the most part.
I did notice some intermittent skipping when my device was in car mode and/or charging at first, but those issues seem to have sorted themselves out now. I would recommend deleting your device and re-pairing after making the change to ensure the connection is set properly.
I'll post up a flashable zip shortly to allow others to see if it helps/works for them.
EDIT: Zip attached. Sorry it took so long, Firefox was giving me problems.
@Captain_Throwback thanks bro, will give it a try. I've noticed it only to skip when using stock HTC media apps. Using Google Play music doesn't skip for me. May be a coincidence? Anyways, flashing your fix.

BT nightmares continue in Oreo, even after latest updates. BT keeps disconnecting from my BMW handsfree all the time. It used to be during audio playback only, but now it keeps disconnecting during the calls too. This is very serious for me since I am mostly talking in the car, and I almost crashed my car the other day while trying to keep conversation alive while BT was going up and down all the time.
What a great disappointment of a phone this turned out to be. I don't have time right now to export/import all my apps into another device, otherwise I would have ditched this crap long time ago.
This is a known issue with the Nokia 8. It also does this with my Apple Airpods where no other Android device does. A number of people on the Nokia Community are highlighting Bluetooth issues, as well as WiFi and NFC (and Android Pay).
TBH I have the Wifi problem, but not the bluetooth one.
And I use it a lot : JBL go speaker the morning, Plantronics backbeat pro 2 the evening, and Spotify through my Peugeot 208 car for 1h30 everyday. So I can't really complain, but I hope they are working on this issue.
So far, HMD proves to be good for security update, but I'm not sure they are really hearing consumers complaints: Wifi, bluetooth, mediocre camera app, APTX-HD not working, Glance screen...

They don’t seem too keen to actually reply to users, which concerns me.
Their social media feed seems to be full of photos taken on Nokias and retweets and links to people saying how great they are. Very little actual consumer interaction or reassurance.
Pretty unfortunate for a new startup like Nokia/HMD.

any fixes so far? I have problems with BMW Spotify and BT, too. BT music works fine, just the app connection with Spotify does not work. Sometimes i can only connect BT Music and Apps when i'm connected as the 2ndary and not primary phone.
Ive sent my Nokia 6.1 back as the bluetooth connections to my new JVC car stereo kept failing. Ended up buggering the radio bluetooth so have sent that back as well.Bought new Pioneer car stereo, wouldnt work with that either. My old Sony Z3 works perfectly.Another worrying issue is that since I sent the Nokia back,a lot of my devices now wont pair with my Sony,my Moto 360 watch doesnt recognize anything,my Tom Tom wont connect, and Im worried that the Nokia may have upset my new Pioneer car stereo
I'm using BT with a plenty of devices all the time
Pioneer car stereo
Cheap BT hands free from amazon
Yatour hands free in volvo
Bose headphones
Anker speaker
The only devices I'm having problem with is pioneer car stereo.
This makes me think that the problem is with pioneer unit, not the Nokia itself.
I have my Galaxy Note 8 hooked up to my Pioneer NEX4200 headunit in my car. When I'm streaming music/youtube, there's a sound kind of like the old mechanical noise from a cassette player that is quiet but audible. I do not get the sound when streaming music when the phone is hooked up via AndroidAuto. I also, occasionally, get a quiet high pitched tone (almost like slight tinnitus) when connected via normal BT. I have yet to test the phone with other bluetooth sources, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Dunno , but when my wife calls me using BT from her car, I hear screeching type noises in her voice, almost like compression.

My phone calls are all good, it's just streaming music.
I have several bt devices, and I have observed that with two, the noise is somewhat choppy, with another, sounds crackling, I use bt since my sonyericsson k700i, around 12 years ago, but, I started to note issues with bt starting with my note 3 onwards, I think that the evolution of bt has somewhat screwed backwards compatibility
I have encountered a weird problem specifically related to PUBG. When I start the app, it sometimes, randomly routs the audio to phones main speakers (the speaker primarily used for calls). Sometimes, it routs the audio through the loudspeaker even while I have connected a wired headset through adapter provided in the box.
When I connect a Bluetooth headset before starting the game, it plays extremely downgraded sound through the headset or simply uses the primary speaker (as above) as sound output, totally ignoring the bluetooth headset. Whenever this kind of problem occurs, restarting the device solves it, but on a later stage it comes back. Other applications like youtube and Google Play Music behaves as they should with all the three sound output options (Loud Speaker, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset). The problem occurs only with PUBG Mobile. Can anyone please provide a solution to this?

Encountered the same problem with Bluetooth headset and I fixed it by -
1) Going to world chat.
2) Pressing the voice message button for a few seconds.
3) sound stops coming for a second .
4) You get perfect quality audio after that.
PS - It only happens for me using Bluetooth headphones, not in my earbuds. And never tried phone loudspeakers while playing the game.
Actually what happens is, when the game starts, for some odd reason, your phone thinks you're receiving a call and acts accordingly. If you use any of the mic actions in the game for a second, it fixes it.
