Hey guys,
I have flashed the tmo roms onto my n9108v note 4(china mobile), everything works fine except wifi calling. It stucks on "enabling" stage. does anyone have any idea why this is happening? my china variant note 3 with tmo rom works fine. Did samsung or tmobile do something specifically to the note 4s so people cant cross flashing rom anymore?
Hello, FYI -
I can't use this function on my N9108v and I'm in China using it on the China Mobile network.
Cheers.
Wifi calling ONLY works on T-Mobile thats it no other varient. No one know goes to port it.. To this point is not possible. So just because you use a T-Mobile room won't give you b Wi-Fi calling. It's rooted to the carrier not the rom...

hello everyone.
I got a gsm unlocked N-920A from AT&T and I'll be using it for other networks. I'm sure you all know how slow their rom is when it comes to updates. I plan on installing an international rom on it but I unfortunately lack the expertise to know if it will work.
google isn't much help here as it keeps showing other things.
if there's a way. what exactly would I need to do. and would it automatically update when the note 7 UX and nougat are released?
thank you for your time
Hey everyone,
Basically, i live in Canada and i am with Rogers, one of the big three wireless networks down here. I ended up buying a note 8 from Samsung USA directly since i got a really good offer, saved about 60% off the note 8 compared to price in Canada.
My problem now is that i can longer use VOLTE, WI-FI calling or even caller ID & spam protection (greyed out).
Is there anything that i could do to enable this settings? I am not sure if i can flash the N950W firmware on my phone, haven't really flashed anything on a samsung since my note 5.
Can someone please help me out with this?
Thinking of getting a Note 5. I know that Android is a mess and functionality varies from one android phone to another. Does the Note 5 support VoLTE?

Not used it but I think it's have VoLTE as in ROM devs shared VoLTE patches and information regarding VoLTE working or not.

Does that mean it works only with custom ROMs and not natively?

It would tend to be the other way... Sprint and T-Mobile have voLTE built in. But custom roms tend not to, esp. when having to deal with a US carrier. It is less of a deal, however, than one might think. The one real time voLTE is nice is when one is out in the boonies somewhere "out of range" but has an internet connection.
Wow this is ridiculously complex. Can we start with the basics. Does a Note 5 without customization (by carriers or custom roms) support VoLTE?

Yes it does.
I am looking in the UK and all the Note 5 models I can see are SM-950A unfortunately (unlocked AT&D models). I suppose that means the risk of carrier-specific hardware customizations, carrier-specific software customizations (and the risk of no volte), and slow or missing updates? So I should look for the standard model which is the SM-950I?

Are you sure? I got a Note 5 sm-n920c, and advanced device info settings has "VoLTE Provisioned" off, and it cannot be switched on.
On EE UK, setting to LTE only prevents making phone calls.
Need to confirm whether this is an EE problem, or a Note 5 problem requiring hacking the phone.
I have the 920T on T-mobile and it supports volte.
Is it have Volte in galaxy note 5 n920s by sk telecom.

Post in thread 'Airtel Volte on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 still not Working ?' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ote-5-still-not-working.3839531/post-84852033
I often come across encouraging posts about flashing T-Mobile firmware on unlocked phones, specifically Note 9 in this case, and not having any drawbacks since the hardware is the same. However, after doing further research I found that the picture isn't as rosy as it seems when it comes to flashing T-Mobile firmware to unlocked phones. Here are some specific questions:
Can I roam on U.S. cellular network if I flash T-Mobile firmware on unlocked Note 9?
Will I get T-Mobile OTAs if I flash T-Mobile firmware on unlocked Note 9?
I remember that despite hardware being the same, the Note 8 UNLOCKED had only 2x2 MIMO capabilities, however the T-Mobile variant had 4x4 MIMO. Is it the same scenario with Note 9 Unlocked vs Note 9 T-Mobile as well?
I am 90% sure that Band 71 exists on Unlocked Note 9; will I have access to all T-Mobile bands if I flash T-Mobile firmware?
As mentioned in this thread, the camera LAGS on the Unlocked Note 9 variant. If I flash the T-Mobile firmware, does that make the camera better?
Please feel free to inform me if I am missing anything other than VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, DIGITS, RCS etc.
I understand, I should get the T-Mobile variant, but I am absolutely trying to avoid sending Samsung my phone for a trade-in, and don't want T-Mobile's bill credits for my phone trade-in. That's why I am interested in getting an Unlocked Note 9 and flashing a T-Mobile firmware on it.

At least 50% of what you "learned" was not true. Don't believe what you read on Reddit. Lots of idiots there. To answer your specific question: If you flash TMB firmware on your U1 device, it will become identical to anything sold in a T-Mobile store.
The only things you gain by using TMB firmware are video calling and digits integration. VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling have been on unlocked Samsung firmware for T-Mobile for at least 3 years. Digits is also usable on U1 if you're willing to use the standalone Play Store app.
The radio is the radio. There's no difference between U and U1.
Can this be done with the note 10+ as well? Flash the tmobile firmware on the unlocked exynos moldel to gain rooting power!

Radio is radio?
What's are you thoughts about the note 5
?
I have the note 5 international model and the network always so slow 3g says 4g icon (not true) and calls go directly to voice-mail for the past 3 years while using on tmobile. How are the radios the same when I put the same Sim card in to the tmobile branded note 5 network works like it should.
Tried to flash note 5 tmobile firmware on international model. Failed

just even thinking of trying it is insane.
read b4 doing such things.
edit:
since about 4 years maybe more the US has snapdragon chips and the the international devices have exynos. you cant mix the 2.
btw ure odin is seeing 2 com ports....
Ok ok. I suppose I was misunderstanding the thread here
" Flashing T-Mobile firmware on Unlocked Note 9 "
I am trying this on a note 5 before buying a note 10 to avoid wasting money if the network is not going to work correctly. Again sorry i am such a noob.

the thread is flashing n960u firmware on a device purchased unlocked with n960u1. they are both identical snapdragon devices.
Ha! Get trolled much?
I just checked the specs and wanted to ask what are your thoughts about the international note 5 and the t-mobile note 5 specs looking the same. Are these not identical devices as well? Attached is a screen shot of this.
N920T & N920I

contrarily as today's devices in america, it would seem that those two note 5 models have the same SoC.
maybe post in the note 5 forums your inquiries since these are the note 9 forums.
Ok I will do post my question there. Although I do have one question for this thread of anyone knows the answer it would be much appreciated. . Does the unlocked note 9 network work correctly on t-mobile? Or does it have unmissed calls sent directly to voicemail and cell data 3g only?
Does anyone own an Hong Kong version outside of Hong Kong?
If so, what are your experiences in terms of:
1. What country are you using it?
2. Does VoLTE Work?
3. Does Wifi Calling Work?
4. Both sim slot capable of 5G?
5. Samsung Pay work?
6. Call Recording?
Using G9980 HK version in Australia. No issues. VOLTE and wifi calling works. 5G works very well on SIM slot 2 only, not on SIM 1. No call recording. Have not tried Samsung Pay I use Google Pay.
Im in japan right now, and 4g works in both sims, volte works, in options could put 2 sims on 5g, but here dont have 5g yet.
in case someone else interested:
- Austria
- everything except for Samsung Pay and Call Recording works on my side
- 5G not tested, but shown as option

I'm with Optus. I had to activate 5G though the Optus app not sure if you might have to do that with Telstra or call Telstra support to make sure 5G activated
