You made just iconmask. Nothing more. Look at blaze's template and make icons to add your pack. Have a good day.

I know, still a theme though, i have a proper icon pack with individual icons in the works but i only have around 100 for that, there's a free version with 50 already on the store, i just need to build up my icon collection first. I thought that icon masks would be better to start with because i don't really know a lot about coding.
Looks good! It's always great to see a new themer/dev around here. I do agree that an actual icon is better than a mask but then again I don't even know how to do that! Stick with it:good luck ?

Thank you yeah I had no idea what I was doing at first but i've had some good help from these forums, I would be putting more effort into my proper theme with individual icons but I'm usually too busy (at university) hopefully soon I can crack on with it

I know, that why I like transparent, maybe not very useful, but it just a new concept. , but this glass effect is more difficult for me than I expected..
I might could help if you tell me more specific what you want.
Here are the png files I would like to "create with your help":
One is for the status bar, this should be the red topbar in the pics of the first post.
And the seond one is the tray for the launcher, I post what I got so far, but it's still not looking how I would like.
I hope you understand what I mean now...
ok i did the files for you as close to what you showed in your mockup.
statusbar_background.png:
tray_handle_normal.png: this file is 40% transparent since that is what it looked like in your mockup. it looks grey because it is on a solid background here. however when you open it up in photoshop and gimp you will see that it is transparent.

Oh thanks!!, I'm going to test it right now.
I just saw a demo of windows phone 7, and i must say, the user interface is awesome.
I put together some tiles to use on your android phone with programs like desktop visualiser and other theming apps.
Most of the icons are from Albook Extended (http://stopdreaming.deviantart.com/#/d1zoewh)and were made by ~StopDreaming on deviantART, be sure to look at his work because its amazing. I just hacked around with them, removed the backgrounds and put them on colored tiles, So make sure you credit ~StopDreaming for the wonderful icons

I couldn't help myself, went ahead and made 70+ high-res tiles, all in three different colours.
this took an insane amount of time, so I hope someone makes a nice theme or something

Ok, So people were looking for more tiles, so I cooked up about 80 more. These are all also available in crimson, as well as pink, blue and green.

Nice! I just finished theming my phone, so I'll wait a while before I try, but still, very nice looking! Wish launcher pro did scenes, so I could play with a new theme, without screwing up my old one

Wouldn't it be so very cool if there was a way to convert icons into 'Hubs' ala Windows Phone 7?
Then we could create a real WP7 simulation using these great tiles.

Keeping it rather simple as the kids return to school and hoping to get some free time to set up a new pc for adb and such. Thanks again for sharing, I made a couple of yellow ones to go with it.

Ok, made an angry birds icon, not sure which one is better. Here they are if anyone wants them.
Ok folks, my friend just got a hero and we were talking about why to root. I showed him several ROMs from this site and all the cool themes. We got to talking about how cool it would be if there was a STEAMPUNK themed ROM out there.
Here's the rub... I SUCK at theming.
I looked at the "buufed" rom and I like some of the style, but it's just not quite what I'm looking for. Props to the developer of that ROM because it's very thorough. This is the depth I'd like the Steampunk theme to have, but I just don't know how to do it. I've never built a ROM from the ground up, so I don't even know where to start.
Is anyone out there interested in a project like this, or could someone help me know what to do?

Ok... I have a great deal of respect for all you devs and themers out there. This is a beast. Time-consuming and not very forgiving...
I have started working on my steampunk theme. Here are some screenshots of what I've done so far. By no means is this a complete theme. I am using ZenHeroFX 2.0 by nfinitefx45 as my base. Credit to all artists/devs for their work.
I have themed the notification pull-down as well, but I don't have a screenie of that yet. Also, I themed the stock sense rosie, but (again) no screencap yet. I'm curious what y'all think...

Wow. You're a fast learner! Here are some clear notification bar icons that I made. You can use them so that the black squares wont show up around the icons in the notification bar. Just unzip the zip file, and you'll see the folders that the icons are supposed to go into. Good luck!

This is looking really good. Here's another theme I found a while back that has some of the same elements of csrom and your current build. I've never used it, but maybe something in there will help you, or maybe this dev can help you.

sadly though, I am using CM6 or AOSP, so would not actually end up using it, but I will be watching this thread for S&Gs anyway. the end result should look spectacular.
if I could add one "suggestion"? Get rid of the "branding" (SteamMod in big letters on the lockscreen?), I would think ppl would rather have something less intrusive in the look. I know I would. something clean and mechanical. just a IMHO kinda suggestion, great work regardless!

No problem-o... I appreciate the suggestion. Funny thing, too... I was using some of the mods from this on my daily use, and I thought "I need to take off that lettering 'cuz it's getting on my nerves." I'm just going to use it as the splash screen when sense loads rather than on the lock screen.
I have to take a break from this for a couple of days, but hopefully I can work on it some next week. Here's where I'm going to have most of my problems... DISTRIBUTION. I can theme my own phone b/c I know what I'm editing... I just am not sure how to make it so others can use it without bricking their phone. Any ideas? I hate Metamorph... was thinking more of a flashable zip? Or maybe just a themed version of a full ROM? ??

Basically I brought over a similar theme design from my HTC Desire. Still tweaking the dock icon fonts and wall paper. It's a work in progress.

Wallpaper you just need to search around but wallbase.net has been my go to.
Finally, to change dock icons and various other things, I use Launcher Pro, you can get it in the market. My dock icons I made myself.

welcome to the android community
in a nutshell...read, everything you need to know is in this forum. you can do slight modifications with new launchers (adw or launcher pro) but to really make significant changes (complete themes, fonts,etc) you will need to root. (needed to do screen captures as well)

First of all this's not a self advertising cause if you have eyes to check the top threads jn theming forum you'll see my theme So I'm giving a fact that my theme is good and popular.
Second thing I saw link and I didn't like (cause I don't like Samsung) So I thought it would be nice to show a good tested theme
