I keep getting this error when trying to flash TWRP. I was flashing insert coin rom and it told me i needed to update twrp.. when i slid the option to install it it left me with no recovery at all and now it wont let me flash a new one. Every time i try to flash I get the FAILED (remote: image error! (BootMagic check fail)) that comes up while writing.. Im putting the file in platform tools... my device comes up when i type fastboot devices.. What else could be going wrong?? Im Using the HTC One M7
Did you check the md5 to make sure the image you're trying to flash is not damaged?
How do I do that?? But I've tried a few different ones and same result..

www.winmd5.com download checker tool here. Correct md5 can be found at the downloads location.
But to be honest sounds like your trying to flash a .zip file to recovery. It should be .img are you sure you didn't download a flashable zip instead of the TWRP recovery.img.
Download the recovery you need here to flash in fastboot http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7

Ok sound like it's in the wrong folder. Is the .img in your fastboot folder.
Or you can try this way in the fastboot command window type.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery
Leaving a space on the end
Then drag and drop your good .img into the command window.

Are the recovery.img file in your adb/fastboot folder?
Are you using these steps to flash the recovery?
In bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <name_of_recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Hey I tried installing a 4.4 rom, got a boot loop recovery keeps crashing and I can get into fastboot now.
The computer is recognizing the phone and I can use fastboot to flash a new recovery but CWM and TWRP recoveries continue to crash on reboot... What can I do?
S-On or s-off ?
either way your best bet is an RUU. the GPE RUU if your s-off or the proper carrier/region RUU if your s-on.

Thank you for the reply, I believe it is s-On the top of the bootloader screen shows tampered & unlocked..
if it doesn't say s-off and you don't remember doing S-off then you're s-on.
What is your CID? you'll need to track down an RUU that matches. Also since your s-on you can only go up in versions, not down so you have to match the mainver.

What hboot do you have
1. Download a fresh copy of the latest twrp 2.6.3.3 from here ------> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
2. Throw that recovery image into your fastboot folder and rename it twrp
Fastboot erase cache

Now my turn to ask you. Now I'm on hboot 1.55, is it still ok to flash stock Rom with hboot 1.54 so I can get the official update to see if it's as fast as some people claim?

boot.img is the kernel, not the system.
have you tried the fastboot flash command with a valid boot.img (not revcovery)?
or if you were trying to flash recovery and not boot.img have you tried again using the right command?
sounds like it should be easier to fix than go back to stock with ruu....
Surely flashing a Rom in recovery would fix that?

im s-on so im not sure if that's gonna make any difference
and my biggest problem is the signature verification (in recovery and boot-loader )
You cab disable signature verification in cwm. And as you are s on you can only flash newer versions or RUU not old ones. Flashing a Rom any Rom would flash the boot image and should be all good

The ruu is probably encrypted, so you can't open it. Find someone with the same firmware and ask them to make a backup of their boot partition, you can then flash the boot image backup in fastboot.

When you flashed the stock firmware (unmodified) did you boot into recovery and do a factory reset?
After factory reset did you reboot into recovery after it so that the wipe will take?
If flashing a pure stock firmware didn't work then you next option would be to try the RUU for your phone.

Thanks for the reply
I downloaded an RUU .zip file, it didn't help;
When trying to flash it using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash zip RUUFILE.zip
I get a signature failed error. And I still can't unlock my bootloader.

you type this commands?
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip (name of your ruu file).zip
fastboot reboot
and can you give me the link to download this ruu?
extract the zip file or rename it like this for exemple
jjj.zip to jjj.exe
try to open this file as administrateur
thx

Yeah, I tried these commands but when trying to rebootRUU , the phone just reboots normally and gets stuck on HTC logo. As for the link, I'll look for it online and post it here in a while.

OK thx alot
i think the zip file can't flash with fastboot because we don't turn on the developer option
so the only way to fix this is RUU.exe
I have the same problem I have unlock bootloader anyway its not works I can't do recovery I can't flash anything....
Phone turn on and stock on htc logo... T_T
In the general thread see my guide, I added links for the RUU and ZIMG files European and Asian versions to revert back to stock
