Ok so I had this att note 3 unused laying around.. So decided to root/twrp it using safestrap.. Well all was good went and got the du rom and gapps and went to back up my stock os with twrp but, took up about 7 minutes of my time to back it up so I thought all was good and did the full wipe.. Well the rom didn't work and for some reason my backup didn't save... So now I'm stuck with no os.. Would like to get back to factory os and I made sure I didn't do a wipe of the SD just the factory reset in twrp.. Any help would be great.. Haven't messed with a Samsung device in years...

If you follow this link, you will be able to download the odin files to get your phone back to NC2 or 4.4.2
Thanks for the quick reply, but I guess you have to go in trwp and manually select the internal SD card, I did and my backup was there so restored it and everything is OK!

I messed my phone up tonight and got it stuck in a bootloop since there is currently no RUU out I'm left with no choice but to go back to the store. Does anyone know if T-Mobile stores have the stock RUU and can restore it?

Hold volume down while it bootloops. I guarantee you'll make it into hboot.

If your problem is transferring files, can you not go to recovery and use usb-ms (while attached to the computer) which will then open the memory of the phone on the computer. That's what I did to transfer stock ruu when I recently bricked my evo 4g.

I'm currently in the process of trying to push a nandroid backup to the device via adb. The problem is that there's no stock ruu for tmobile as of yet so the only choice I have is to recover via a nandroid.

no success at all, I'm gonna head to the tmobile store here in a few and see what I can get worked out
I just came back from the bell store, and they said that they could exchange me for a new one but they don't have any in stock until Tuesday.
I soft bricked my nexus devices dozen times in the past few years, and was easily restored to stock. Lesson learned by me, never root a non nexus device within 1 week of its release.

Why even bother? Just push a ROM, wipe system and data, then flash it.
You don't need a ruu. What did you do to get into a bootloop.

Have you tried a factory reset? Did you use a custom kernel?

factory reset wont work but luckily i got it taken care of and got my device swapped and no custom kernel
dont know how you did that. ive flashed every rom i could for this device to problem recovering from bootloops
I managed to fixed mine finally, Installed twrp and mounted my USB via otg. Then flashed a custom ROM, rebootef, still suck at the boot screen. Flashed a custom kernel, and it finally got passed the boot screen.
So happy to get my One back up and running again.

had this problem. i sideloaded a rom on and then it was fine. use the m7 all in one to sideload from recovery and it should work fine.
Please I need some help! I just got a Note 3 today (I had a Note 3 when it first came out) and installed safestrap to it. I put a rom on my 64gb card and backed up the stock rom and then wiped all data, system, cache, etc. and when I tried to flash the rom it failed. I tried to do my restore and that failed also. I rebooted to recovery from safestrap and it went to the factory recovery. When I try to reboot the phone it just sits at the Samsung screen with the custom and lock icon. I don't know what to do. I think its the 64gb card that wouldn't allow the rom to be flashed or the restore to work. Is there an odin back to mj5? I think it's the only thing I can do.

I was able to restore to mj5. Do you know if there is a problem with 64gb sdhc 10 micro sd cards or flashing roms to the stock rom slot?
Flash from the internal. Report back

After a lot of playing around I think it is safer to use a 32GB for flashing or internal. Sometimes recovery doesn't play nice with a 64GB.
i would always recommend flashing from the internal with safestrap. just seems to be more stable. keep the file on your Ext for safe keeping but copy it to your internal for flashabilty<<<
I was experiencing problems with my rooted mj5 so i used that popular thread on how to revert to stock mj5. Everything went smooth, but im still having the bootloop problems. The custom lock logo is gone on bootup so i know its true stock mj5 now, but my loader hangs on the ATT animation logo for a bit then keeps restarting. This process goes on and off for a few times until it manages to pull itself through. Should i call ATT for a replacement or is this fixable?
Went into recovery mode and cleared cach - didnt work

f*ck.
Did you flash the 2400258.zip file in the stock recovery?

This. I've reverted back to mj5 multiple times and never got into a bootloop. Don't take it back to AT&T for your mess up. That's fraud.

As i stated above the factory reset does not work. I noticed the main problem was coming from the sd card slot. It doesnt matter what sd card is in there, it will cause the phone to lose signal and enter a weird bootloop. A few hours ago i re installed mj5 and did every step to get a 100% new stock again. The 16gb and 32gb class 10 sd card will cause my phone problems. The main problems are bootloops and if i go to make a call, the service bar will turn to an O with a slash until i end the call so i can not call anyone while my sd card is installed.
Im considering just updating to kitkat and if it has problems from there then i know the phone has hardware issues, then off to AT&T it goes...
My LG G2 (Verizon/VS980) was rooted on stock OS 24A. TWRP was installed as recovery.
This phone took a software update and now it's stuck in TWRP recovery. Help please.
Root no longer matters as long as I can get an OS back running on it.
Thank you.

If you have twrp it'll be easy to get it back on. First if you made a twrp backup just restore it. If not then
Second of all do you have any Roms on your internal memory? If so just install one through twrp.
Third if u have none of those you can either side load a rom through twrp and flash it.
Or you can go back to stock using this thread which should work 100% but you'll lose any data you had on your phone including pictures and other media http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960

There's a command you need to run to fix it, looking for it now.

NEVER take an OTA update without the stock recovery...

Hi I have an A&TT S900A. I just installed Unity Rom and upon reboot all is the S-5 Boot screen without ever getting to safestrap. How can I fix this?
I can tell you the same thing hapenned to me and going back to stock was my only option. The only thing to remember here though is that the file to odin back to stock will wipe everything off your internal memory, so you should probably make a back up of your internal memory first if you can. Good luck man.

Thanks a lot. I don't see an Odin return to stock thread specific to this model, so I assume it's pretty standard and will look for just a general walk through online.
ok odin worked fine, now to try if I can get this rom to install again... Thanks for the help!
