I was doing a bit of searching around as I will be taking my phone back to stock to sell. I have this article with the ATT Stock firmware and odin tools. If the firmware listed on the site or any site I download from is older, is that ok?
Here is a link to the article.

I have a Note 5, N920I from an Australian carrier and I'm curious if I can download from somewhere a 'stock' firmware for the phone, as if I had purchased it outright with no carrier. Does such a thing exist? What would be the process? Would I receive OTA updates faster (this is my hope)?
I did try to find an answer online, but I haven't found anything conclusive and I figured this would be the best place to get a straight answer.
Thanks!
You can download stock firmware from here and try to flash it using odin. there are a number of Australian as well as Singapore stock firmwares available.

Thanks will it trip knox?
They are listed by countries How do you know if it is stock?
I currently have marshmallow installed on my note 5 and I've been searching for lollipop 5.1.1 firmware and found one here
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-N920W8
Are the files here legitimate? I have it downloaded and about to install it using odin but I don't want to brick my phone during the process..
It's official rom, you also can download via samfirm
To download firmwares at high speed I recomend this website: http://samsung-updates.ru/ legit and secure
So i have a 950U1(XAA) and after dabbling around with the root (samfail rev3) I decided to go back to stock. I did somehow get back to stock but I installed the wrong version which was android 7.1.1 for a 950U (USC). I've been trying to flash in the correct model 950U1 (XAA) but to no avail I can't get odin to flash it. I keep getting an error "sha256".
Despite all of this rooting the phone via samfail rev 3 still works
The version of odin i was using during all of this was the PrinceComsy version found in the snapdragon note 8 root thread
EDIT: just stumbled across this after posting https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-sm-n950u-u1-t3685884
o boy do i feel dumb.
I'm fairly certain that thread holds all I need
Hi All,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I have an unlocked Note 8 (Model SM-N950U1) that I flashed a version of Verizon 8.0.0 to (N950USQU3CRB1). I've looked around the forums quite a bit and can't seem to find any way to go back to my original unlocked software. Ideally, I'd like to be on the most current version, but I'm not sure how to get there.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help!
There's two threads called carrier switching that deal with this in great detailed guides.
The abbreviated version is, download the N950U1 fimrware with SamFirm.
Flash it with patched ODIN 3.13.1_3B
Just advice, next time before you flash firmware on your phone, make sure you understand the procedure for.goijg back to stock as well.
I've seen a couple of threads about this here, but I'm confused about where I can get the firmware to flash an unlocked S10 (SM-G973U1) to T-Mobile firmware, and they've not really told me where to download the firmware that I need. One thread pointed at S10+ firmware, not useful to me, and the other didn't give any URL for downloading firmware.
Can anyone help me find the right firmware? I've used Odin before, and am fine with that. I also know that I have to have the right firmware for this to work *smile*.
Also, the firmware to flash back from T-Mobile to unlocked would be very useful, since I may want to change back to unlocked at some point. The reason that I want to flash T-Mobile firmware is since I'm still on the May 1 "monthly" Android security update on my unlocked S10. That doesn't make me happy, more than a quarter behind by this point...very disappointed.
Thanks!
There's a firmware thread here:

If the phone is SIM unlocked, the Firmware you want is the USC or XAA firmware... That way it will switch carriers apps and bloatware when you change sim cards...
Search for samfirm on google....
Have Fun!!
