I just got done setting the fringerprint scanner to work on an upwards swipe
It simple
Swipe up when registering 1 set will all upwards swipes
It will warn you to swipe downwards when trying this, but if you do it quick enough it will actually accept it as a swipe enough times to make a whole set.
Try it out

In my experience upward swipes work even if you only registered downward swipes, just not as well.
Do you find that this works better than the down swipe?

Interesting. Swiping down is a little hard at times. Guess I'll try it. Thanks for sharing.
I scan my thumb sideways. Better for me.

Pretty cool app I thought I'd share.
It uses your proximity sensors to do certain shortcuts on your phone without touching the phone!

There is a free version and a paid version.
The paid version is only $2.00, however I wouldn't recommend that if you don't think it's worth it.
Note: This is pretty much a novelty kind of thing, not really meant for daily use.

pretty neat app. I tried the lite version.
Holding the phone with my left hand, tilting the phone forward, and using my left thumb to swipe over the proximity sensor made opening the notification pulldown really easy. not a long drag or quick down swipe, just nice little motion over the sensor.
Installed the Lite version - works fine on my Galaxy 580 (Galaxy 3/GT-I5800) running 2.2.
Anyone else noticed that if you hold two fingers on any screen on the Gear you get a list of recently opened apps?
Much quicker to navigate this way sometimes.
You can also close the apps by swiping each one to the left.
Awesome tip. I didn't know that. Thanks.

Hmm ... Too bad that we can't clear the open apps.
I think we will see a lot of changes from Samsung with the gear. They rushed it to market, imho, without it being very mature. But then every new device has this issue.
I remember when people were complaining that the amount of available apps for Android paled in comparison to the iSuck devices.

You can also double tap
I knew about this but also if you double tap 2 fingers you get instant shortcut to volume / brightness settings and battery level
Wow this is a nice tip. Is this something that was in the manual that came with the device. I never read them
Doesn't this tip appear on menu that came with the box?

It seems all the Best Buy stores are sold out, yet I don't see a lot of people discussing the fit. I was able to track one down from a sprint store.
I love the thing.
I can't seem to find if it has the ability to double tap screen to do things.
How do you guys like the fit?

Its pretty cool. I'm using it on my nexus and got most of the features working. I don't know what that double tap feature is. When you double tap with two fingers it opens the settings menu. And when you press the home button 2 times it opens whatever you have it set to. Maybe that helps.

What features aren't working on your Nexus? I was thinking of flashing an aosp ROM, but did not want to lose functions. How are notifications?

Are there any apps that can lock the screen right away? I noticed when screen timeout kicks in, the phone is not locked right away. I am looking for something that would lock it right away. Thanks

Go into settings, lockscreen, and scroll to the bottom and click on secure lock time. Then check imediatley. This should fix your problem.

I like android 6.0 its fast, reliable and now on tap is great but I have become accustomed to swiping up to check my Google now, and I don't understand why it's gone. Can you not use now on tap and the swipe to Google now, I used to just swipe up check the weather, traffic or whatever I needed but now I have to hold it down wait for it to search a screen I don't care about then tap the Google now square or I have to go find the app. I'm sorry but I seriously hate it its terrible.

I don't know I have never had that problem maybe that's why they changed it, I feel like other people that actually use Google now and not just the search feature would miss it.

Agree, was confused when I tried swiping up, tap and hold takes much longer in my opinion than the previous swipe up
I am using nova launcher and I have set it up so swipe up will bring up google now, this way I don't miss it...

Snap.
But I think it only works from a NL screen, not while in an app.
