Hello everybody.
I've encountered a strange internal memory issue on my Xperia V running cm11.
No apps could write to the storage, even CM file manager could do nothing even with root permissions.
I have tried to wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache,sdcard0(internal), and reflashing CM11, this gave nothing.
Chmod 777 in terminal app, and in twrp recovery gave nothing either.
The only solution i found is flashing a stock rom (android 4.3 ) , ( but, as I want KitKat & CM) , I did flash custom kernel, cm-11 latest nightly, yet it works but only untill i erase sd (in settings app , or through recovery). Though this solution is not really reliable, as i could need to clean up my phone literally anytime...
Any help, please?
Thanks in advance!
Although I'm a Xperia T owner, I had similar issues under CM11. Some apps hadn't access to the external memory (regardless if it was sdcard0 or sdcard1). Since I'm back to the last stock firmware, the problems are gone. Guess the KitKat ROMs need some time get full useable.

Hi all
I have an issue with Cyanogenmod ROM here.
I runned on my Nexus One the 7.1 version with S2E script without problem for six months, then suddenly my 16gB SD Card reported a read/write problem and I have to reinstall everything.
Changing my sd card with a new sandisk 32gb, I decided to install the newer Cyanogenmod 7.2 official version (not nightly) but since then I have a serious issue.
Obviously, just to confirm, I wipe everything before installing pure cyanogen zip file. Then, I begin to install application but as you know internal memory is soon filled.
Then i backup, format SD card, partition it 1GB ext4 / 31GB fat, reinstall the backup, and install S2E.
The problem is that everything run smooth for almost 1 day - where i can install new apps and move to sd etc - but after some hours of use, if you try to install or update application all of a sudden market begins to report error message like:
error 492
file package not valid or signed
or, during installation, the phone has an half reboot.
Obviously i tried to wipe and reinstall everything many times but problem persists.
Also, when it happens, after some more time some applications began to work wrong, especially widget like simple calendar widget or beautiful widget.
I googled to search for a problem of this type, the only solution i found is to install latest version of the market as apk, which I do, but it doesn't work.
Any help?
Should I try another App2SD script different from S2E?
after s2E installation, do I have to launch something from terminal (which I don't do until now)?
thanks
I experienced similar.
I now use mounts2sd from DK Zero Cool. Fantastic script. What I do is to choose 'move data', and choose 'reverse mount'. With just those settings I have no issues. (You run the script from recovery and you're given the options in Aroma installer)

See how that goes for you.

Issue solved
Hi all
Just to make you aware that I solved the issue reinstalling everything using a recovery older than Clockworkmod 5.2, in particular the Amon_RA 2.1, leaving the phone to work with this recovery I wipe everything and reinstall Cyanogenmod 7.2 and S2E and everything is working fine now.
Hope it helps
Thanks
Hello. Thank you it worked for me.
I have tried installing all kinds of KK ROMs over my CM10 but everyone gives the "android.process.media" has stopped. How do I fix this?
I have formated my internal SD card and everything. Every bit of old information was wiped clean before I installed these ROMS. Still no dice.

Try this
GB 2.3.6-> CF-root -> wipe & format system,cache,data,datadata,dalvik -> install C-Rom ( directly on 2.3.6 )
It should solve the problem.
( Other roms like CM11/CyanAosp should also work. If installation on 2.3.6 fails at CWM, delete the recovery folder from rom.zip and then flash )

Sent from my phone. Why would you need to know what device I have?
Check whether the download manager is disabled... If yes then enable it... Even do a clear data of it...
You will find it at settings > apps > all
(if disabled it will be to the bottom of the list)
And if possible the moderators should move this thread to Q&A...
Hello.
I am having a problem with my phone not being able to save anything to my internal memory. I cannot create any folder and some apps doesn't work because they use it. But I am able to use the external SD though and there is no problem there.
I have tried reinstalling my ROM 3-4 times, and installing different ROMS, but this problem is on all ROMS.
I have done "Fix permissions" and wiped Data, Cache and Dalvik. I am able to install apps from google market.
Anyone have a fix for this?
Found the solution. Installing stock ROM fixes it.

I have the same problem. I cannot download files and save them on internal memory or make photos or videos or record voice.
What about having a look at my CM12.1 thread, post #3... "Fixing internal storage"
I have tried but unfortunately still not working . Maybe it works only with your CM 12 mod?

Try replacing 1023 in the Terminal commands with 2800
My galaxy note could not access the internal sdcard even with root.
So this happened with RR rom when i was trying to download something in chrome, then chrome gave an error that i couldn't download because it couldn't find any path. So i open zarchiver and it says access denied.
Then i go into TWRP, did a full wipe with internal sdcard then a clean flash and the problem still exist.
Then i decided to flash xperia z ised rom and xposed, the problem gone. but after 10 minute the problem came back.
Hi @Floenum,
I have the same problem with RR rom, but only the very latest (stable) RR.... 5.8.5 build, on Nougat. Under version 5.8.4, the issue was fine and could access storage.
But if I did a dirty or clean install of RR 5.8.5, then suddenly, the Ext SD card disappeared within the OS. Any other version of the RR, before it, or any other rom from JellyBean upto Nougat, would work... except the last RR build. I was told it was my SD Card being corrupt, despite it working in TWRP and all other Android Roms, just ONE BUILD refused to work. If you install "FX File Explorer" and then choose the option to "CONNECT TO STORAGE" then that way it will work, and you can access that storage again.
That said, I also have the same issue as you with INTERNAL SD, when using Oreo roms.... Hence gone back to Nougat for now....
