Hello all
Since I can't find any answer (or questions) about this, I'll ask for you!
My phone gets randoms soft-reboots while using any CM11 based ROM (CM, LS, Vanir, Omni). It gets worse when I switched to LiquidSmooth by Mourta with 3.4 Mourta's kernel. With ROMs like Beanstalk, Lego or stock 4.1.2 I don't have that issue (with stock or other kernels).
Edit: after soft reboot, launcher's wallpaper resets to stock one.
Any help will be very helpful!

Your rom might be corrupted. I suggest you to make clean installation

I always make a clean install, formatting Data/Cache/Dalvik/System. After download, I verify MD5 (if avaliable).
Strange is that only happens with CM11 ROMs.
I don't know, just a guess, but does recovery have something with this? (I'm using TWRP).
I used to get problems like this on mourta's kernel, but not on pure cm11. I am using CWM
Ok, the problem is "auto-solved".. I don't know, but it just stopped, and the rom is very good. I did't make any changes, nothing, and the soft reboots are gone.

I did not have any issues with wifi when I was on stock. I'm having issues when I flash SuperNexus 3.0.
Some people suggested that I shud try different roms and then report... I tried Gamerz v4.0 and now I'm on CyanAOSP v5.0
What could possibly be wrong???? Can some-one please suggest me steps to make it work fine...
PS: I have not flashed any kernels in any rom... I just used the kernels they came along with...

Aways is great dev, but IMO his ROMs go quite far away from stock, he likes experiments. If you were fine with stock based ROMs, consider the CM10.2 as it is close to stock but not conservative at all. Here good idea how to get it bug-free, check my post of this morning, there you can track whole the step-by-step workflow:

Will 2.3 do???
So you mean to say I should flash 2.2 and then root and install CM10.2....
Can I flash 2.3.6? As I already have its .tar file...
Thanks for ur reply tetakpatak...:good:

Yes, you can try that as well. But it was exactly my point, as I could have observed that most of people who have bugs with CyanogenMod have upgraded from Gingerbread to the CM10x. Those Froyo ROMs seem to be really "clean" to be overwritten, therefore my idea that it could help.
From people who upgraded to the CM from those Froyo ROMs and SpeedMod kernel nobody had bugs. I've only got so far one single time info that Trebuchet was bit laggy, but installing Apex launcher has solved that. On my i9000 Trebuchet is rock stable and fast, on my p5110 Tab I had to replace it with Apex, which indeed has worked perfectly well since the first second.

What may help also is describing the kinds of wifi problems you have. Most of the time its fixed by flashing a different kernel.

Hello everybody
I have a Sony Xperia T, and when I got tired of the stock ROM (JB 4.1.2), updated with PC Companion to 4.3, and everything started to go wrong. While daily use, the screen sometimes turned blue and afterwards the phone rebooted. This happened approximately once a week.
Less frequently, the phone shut down and I couldn't turn it on tipically by holding power button for few seconds. Otherwise, I had to press volume up + power keys until first vibration (I read this simulates battery removal) in order to start my phone.
I thought it might be due to the new ROM, so I flashed CM 10.2, but I had the same problem. Recently, I tried with PACMAN ROM (my current firmware), but it could not solve the problem neither.
Few weeks ago I read that this bug might be a kernel issue, but I'm not quite sure. Do you have any idea about what happens? Flashing a new kernel would end the problem? In that case, which one do you recommend? My phone is rooted, bootloader unlocked and CWM v 6.04.
Thanks you all for your time :fingers-crossed:
P.D.: I attach a screenshot with kernel, build, android version...
i dont know why someone would try out pac rom, a rom without a good forum thread support. a rom which seems dead for our phone?
about cyanogenmod, i not use it...so i just can guess: maybe they still not use the new sony 4.3 kernel source...that could be a reason for bluescreens (same pac rom)?
so you have this options:
omnirom official nightlies by tilal6991
omnirom homebuilds by scanno
latest paranoid android by tilal6991
plain AOSP by Rimmer1966
these use new kernel source, no bluescreens, good user experience, daily driver material.
try out and become happy...
you can find them in xperia T forum, just look around
edit:
why you have android version 4.2.2? is that a bug? build date 1.aug 2013?
we have already awesome kitkat (android 4.4.2) roms (list above)^^

First of all, thank you for your quick reply, I'll take it account
The reason why I tried with CM10.2 and Pacman ROM is that they are not nightlies. I don't totally rely on nightiles because of the many bugs ther're reported. Anyway, I'll try with some of the ROMs above.
Finally, I would like to know if I coud stay with my current ROM and solve my problem only by flashing a new kernel.
Thank you again ^^
you dont rely on nightlies? wrong decision regarding omnirom, all on my above list is daily driver material (even the nightlies)
easy Kernelchange and keep this outdated pac rom with 4.2.2? NO!
its that simple. there is no reason to use such an outdated custom rom, no reason!
Ok, I refused to change kernel, and flashed the third one of the list: "latest paranoid android by tilal6991" (I liked a review about it). However, the problem persists :crying: And that's a pity, because I love how the new ROM looks like
Take a look to the new screenshot of "About phone". The kernel version seems to be different to the one of the last cap. Any idea?
Thanks in advance!
I have a rooted and flashed HTC One (GSM). I am using OneDroid based on CM11 and sti kernel v2.0. I am however facing this really irritating issue whereby my phone reboots CONSISTENTLY when it is in stand by mode. It happens almost every 4-5 minutes. I doesn't happen when I am charging or using the phone. Any solution guys?

try to isolate the issue:
Flash a stock kernel or another aosp kernel (i.e TeamSeven kernel) to see if its kernel related
flash another rom to see if its rom related
go back to 100% stock, if the issue persist then its an hardware defect.

Thanks for the response. Any GSM compatible ROMS and Kernels compatible with one droid to recommend? I have flashed numerous ROMs and so far, only CM OneDroid turned out to be the least ****ty.

I do not know much about aosp kernel because i'm using Sense. Maybe try TeamSeven kernel. As long the kernel you flash is made for your respective device and compatible with your rom.

It looks like I have fixed the problem. Re-flashed the same ROM and installed only the apps I needed. Must be some faulty app that caused the problem.
Been trying to flash dr87's kernel to the Mahdi ROM (which has been a great ROM thus far), phone ends up getting stuck on LG symbol and starts getting the white lines, at which point I reboot into recovery and just re-flash the ROM. I've read other people have been able to flash it to this ROM with no issues. Wiped Dalvik before flashing. This is the VS98024A. Any thoughts? Heard the combination of this kernel and ROM was really good, would definitely like to try it out.

The DR's kernel is part of mahdi so not sure why you're trying to flash it.

It's been discovered LG used two different panel types on the G2, check out the explanation in the Furnace thread. You need to use the kernel that matches your panel type. As noted above though, Mahdi has a dr87 kernel in it.

I see, was not aware of that, I will have to look into that more. From my understanding, I believe this specific kernel is different from the one he used for the Mahdi ROM. I did assume that he used that AOSP v7 kernel in the ROM, however that kernel can be OC to 2.8, where the ROMs can be up to 2.5, and I read that some people had flashed that kernel to the ROM as well with good results.

I just looked, his AOSP kernel is only for roms running 4.2.2 source under the cover, I'm pretty sure the latest Mahdi is running 4.4.2.
Furnace AOSP should work on Mahdi.
bender_007 has a tool you can install to tell you which panel you have, check his signature - http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3279781

Okay I wasn't sure if v7 was perhaps the update to implement it for 4.4.2, I took it as that from reading the thread title but it does say only for 4.2.2 source. I will have to look into Furnace more, see how it compares to the kernel running in Mahdi. Thank you for the link and all the info!

furnace 2.2.3 works perfect with mahdi. in fact its made to run on mahdi.
What it is the most stable and for daily use rom?
Preferably with long battery life
CM11 preferably
I've tried many Droid 4 ROMS (LiquidSmooth, CM10, D4HD, SlimKAT, Resurrections...) but Carbon is absolutely the most (well, almost) stable ROM
Best thing about Carbon ROM is that it offers Permission Management function, which is extinct in other ROMs since CM 7.2

Hi I installed the rom on my droid 4 in rom slo1. It's starts booting but I only see the carbon bot screen and nothing happens after 5min...What did I wrong?
Make sure you do the wipe data/ factory reset.
P/S: Last time I flashed Carbon ROM, I needed to install gapps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed) as well. Without gapps, my rom could not work properly (I still don't know why?). Maybe you want to give it a go?
Hi I try both. I do a factory reset and also installed the gapps...same problem. I'm Using SafeTrap 3.75...can this be a problem?

Maybe. I'm not too sure . I'm running Safestrap 3.73.
So any idea, what I can do to solve the problem?
