I'm wondering if it an upgrade to the existing Tizen ROM. Dont want to flash it until I know more............
Yeah that is exactly what I am wondering too.. hopefully someone can tell us more abouth it!
I think it is a old regurgitation of android for gear
orphan is right.
I exctacted the build.prop and the changelist is 2014337. This is a little lower than previous firmwares so this rom is useless unfortunately.
No more android updates for our poor gear.... But at least we have null rom! : )

Hi,,
I have purchased galaxy tab 7.0 ,, p1000 yesterday !
I know its too late but its OK , its not for me any way
but I tried to update the tab to android 2.3 , but it seems something is wrong
I have downloaded the latest kies from Samsung website , then I have connected my P1000 , and every thing is going fine , but the kies says this is the latest firmware!!
what does that mean?
I know how to root the device and how to get the update but I don't want to!
why I can't just update it officially from kies?? I live in Saudi Arabia , but is it really a problem?? as far as I know its available for everyone now
any suggestions?

keis looks at your model number. so it's saying you have the latest software released for your model. most of what you see on here is people rooting and putting whatever they want on thier tablets. rooting is when you hack your computer to get low-level system access. which voids your warrenty. and android is linux so you should be familiar with how a linux os works and your tablets hardware.
ok thanks for replying ,,
I know all these stuff , and i am familiar with Linux also
but isn't this update officially released?
why does it say this is the latest firmware if it looked at my model number?!
does that mean some models don't get the update?
It's wierd. is it a import from somewhere else?
Keis would only reject models from certain places.
or your model is not on the roll out yet too.
samsung is a wierd company. good but wierd.
go into your configs and look at about your device,
and see what model and revision it is.

I'm in Saudi Arabia too and i'm also not getting any update while other people in Saudi Arabia have updated their Tabs from KIES
check this thread u might some answers

Gingerbread is definitely not available everywhere just yet. Unavailable here on my Aussie Tab for example.
It's possible that you're Tab is coded to a carrier/region and would therefore be ineligible. For example, I have a GT-P1000T (nothing on the outside will tell you this. Try checking the box) which means I can't get the upgrade. Same goes for other models such as the 1000R/B/K type models. This could be an issue.
Also, if you're Tab is locked to a network, your carrier might have to sign off on the upgrade first.

Yeah, got the ****s wirth waiting for Telstra to release an update, went with ODIN instead, never looked back...
Apparently as I was browsing the telstra site yesterday, there is an upgrade available for the Telstra GT-P1000T now available for download through Kies.... If you are game...
hello,
i got a question, I wonder why my s3 is still on android 4.1.1. I cant update via kies or ota, it just says i already got the latest version. Does it have something to do with my provider (proximus) or the fact that I have the 4G version, that I seem unable to update to 4.1.2? also, i never rooted my phone and im not planning on rooting it either.
thanks

I can't see any firmware from proximus on sammobiles, so there is a chance that it has not been updated for them, if you want 4.1.2 I would download the latest unbranded rom for the i9305 (be 100% sure that the model number is correct) you can then proceed to flash this via Odin, you will not need to be rooted and it will not affect the binary counter.
I suggest the unbranded rom because that comes straight from Samsung, and contains no carrier bloatware.
Next time please post your questions in the Q&A section, as it's against the rules to post questions in general discussion, I will report the thread and ask for it to be moved to Q&A for you

Sry but you didn't read it right and it was not a Samsung statement (just a rumor), for now we wait for 4.2.2 or 4.3 on S3 and only in like 4-8 weeks at least.

I would really prefer to not do anything with my phone, I tried rooting and custom rom and all that stuff on my transformer prime tablet and that didn't end good at all, so I really dont want to ruin my S3, as I have no idea what unbranded and Odin and carrier bloatware is... And sorry for the wrong section
Also when I look on this sammobile site for firmwares, I do not see my PDA number. My Baseband version is I9305XXALJ2 and buildnumber JR003C.I9305XXALJ3. I do not see those numbers anywhere on the site, and since you said I had to be absolutely sure I have the firmware with the right number, there is no firmware for my device or..?
latest is 4.1.2 on sammobile .
Updates Kies OTA are via your vendor . They may choose not to update .

The roms on Sammobile are completely stock, but if you have a carrier branded rom, and they haven't updated you to 4.1.2, and you don't want to mess around there isn't much you can do except wait.
But if you have the I9305 you can flash any I9305 rom.
Odin is a program leaked from Samsung it's what they use to flash test devices at the factory, unbranded is just a rom that has come from the manufacturer rather than carrier, and contains no carrier based boot animations or apps etc. Bloatware is unnecessary system apps (for most people) some examples are apps from your carrier.

Man, just download generic (not branded ROM) for your region and flash it via Odin 3.0.7. It takes about 5-6 minutes to flash and you'll be OK afterwards...
I never use branded fw. Every time I buy a new phone, put it to download mode right out of box and flash generic ROM.

The Luxembourg version is now on sammobile and you should be able to update your phone via Kies. This is the version sold by Belgacom in Belgium as they also own Tango.

This are 3 last symbols of firmware. I don't have Note 3 in my hand at moment so i post screen from my Note 4 as example.
Thanks, I have MLG?
but what are these mean?
Can I move from any one to another?
When flashing a new ROM, does this value change?
Thanks in advanced for any more info.
These have no meaning that I know of. MLG is the firmware your note is on which is android version 4.3. When you flash a rom it must be for your firmware or you must upgrade to the newer firmware to flash the other roms so if a rom says it's for NC2 you currently could not flash it until you upgrade to 4.4.2 which has firmware version NC2

A Factory reset can sometimes fix the OTA not coming through, just back up your data.
Or you can download the official filmware from either sammobile or updato and then flash it with Odin (13.3.1)

Ok I will try reset for now then try. Thanks.
Would you happen to know what happens if you download a firmware from a different carrier?? Does it lock the phone or can I get any firmware as long as it is for N950U??

Since you have N950USQS5CRK2 as PDA version currently, you will not get any updates period because it doesn't update from that version you'll need to do it yourself using odin and use this firmware from here.. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397966043

Is the new firmware present in sammobile? If yes, you can connect the device to a pc for updating with smart switch or Odin because often it takes a couple of day's for coming via OTA after that they put it on sammobile. If no, waiting is the better choise..

no there is no update avilable in sammobile
thank you
You could install either the Taiwan or Singapore release of android 10 on your device. If it has been released but I would advise that you wait for the official HK OS update release for stability.

Go into Settings > General Management > Language and input You can edit the Keyboard settings there. You may have the Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta enabled rather than the Samsung Keyboard.
