I was using an app called bootbox I changed the boot screen animation. I backed up the original boot screen animation. I also did an online nandroid backup to the sd card 01, removable. I saw another boot animation I wanted to try but bootbox doesn't give the option to delete a previously downloaded boot animation. After the second boot animation the phone would go into a bootloop. So I powered it up and held down the power button. I restored it with the backup without wiping the phone. It gave me a missing boot error. Now the device is hard bricked with only the led occasionally on green when holding down the power button with it plugged into my laptop with the battery out. Then the led just sits flashing red in second intervals. It won't come on period. Is there a way to get my phone out of this hard brick status? Thanks. I have the X Rockers rom installed on it, it's rooted, with an unlocked bootloader and Android 4.3. When holding down power and volume buttons it no longer vibrates, just the LED either comes on green for 10 seconds if just the power button and blue for 10 seconds with power and volume buttons. The LED stays solid then after 10 seconds shut off and nothing. Thanks.
In your case, if flashtool or other tool doesn't work at all, you better to bring your device to SC. or upgrade your device..

It's not hardbricked. Green led = Flashmode / Blue led = Fastboot mode.
If it's flashing Red than most likely your battery is depleted. Since it doesn't seem to be a kernel problem, try charging your phone normally, or get a replacement battery, or use a universal battery charger, then you can try booting into Recovery and use ADB to delete the bootanimation.zip file that most likely is preventing the phone from booting up (or any other file, don't know what Bootbox does).
If that is too complicated for you, you can always connect it in flashmode and flash a stock rom again, since your bootloader is unlocked. Just remember the key here is to charge your battery.
cool but

How do I get into recovery or flashmode and what is adb? Bootbox simply changes the boot animation. The phone ? also doesn't vibrate. When you connect it to the laptop it makes the usb connect sound then 10 seconds later the usb disconnect sound happens. Thx A.

Note: This is a re-post from the Verizon HTC forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533042)
I just rooted and S-off my HTC via rumrunner.
No flash roms install or custom recovery installed.
I wanted to see if I still had CWM from my last root (I returned to stock via http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...highlight=s-on.
So I went into the bootloader or fastboot (I don't remember) and hit recovery. This did not send me to a CWM, but it appeared to be the stock version of recovery. The process took too long (I know impatient) so I turned it off via power button + volume down.
Now I come to you in need, my phone is constantly turning off/on only displaying the green htc text, no red text, then pausing for 8 seconds, then off again to black screen. The whole process lasts 12 seconds, and this had been going on for about 10-15 min atm.
Plugging it in, my computer does not have the time to recognize it with adb, or fastboot.
I cannot use the power button + volume down to go into bootloader, and pressing the power button does nothing.
Please help me.
So here's the update.
Screen is now black, meaning the boot up/down process has stopped.
I have tried these:
A. Hold down the volume down + power button for 20+ seconds.
B. Hold down the volume up + volume down + power button for 20+ seconds and let up on the volume up button when screen goes black.
These two methods results in a single boot up to green HTC text then black screen.
I suspect the device has lost most of its power. Tried it for a third time, the device is now unresponsive and remains at black screen.
Now I plugged the usb cable connected to the power adapter.
The device enters the aforementioned continuous boot loop.
I tried method A and B, and there are no results, the boot loop continues. Now the device returns to the low or no powered state.
Now the device is connected to the computer. The same happens as if it were connected to the power adapter.
Method A and B still do not work.
Results: holding down buttons longer do nothing for me. The device seems to have lost power, but when charged, immediately the device enters the boot loop state.
Note: when doing method A and B the trials were done when screen is on and when screen is off, still no results.
Now the screen is off and not connected to anything. The problem still persists.

If I had to guess I would say your volume down is broken, else it would enter hboot
plug in the power and let it charge all day. then plug it to your pc and try to adb reboot bootloader or adb reboot recovery the instant you here the pc usb ingage.
once you get to the bootloader try and fastboot erase cache followed by fastboot reboot
after your phone boots you should be able to go back to bootloader and reinstall custom recovery

I have a few questions/concerns to this.
1. When I charge it, I can't stop the phone from the continuous boot. I'm afraid that doing this all day might hurt the phone more.
2. Currently I have been charging it via computer (still boot loop), and the computer does not recognize it at all. I think there is really not enough time because the loop duration is only a few seconds.
3. Since the phone is connected to the computer, the commands adb reboot bootloader and adb reboot recovery does not work. Error: device not found.

So what is this method supposed to accomplish?
I did this and the phone stopped the continous boot. However when I tried to go to hboot it went back into the loop. I did this twice, and I'm able to stop the loop with the bright light method, but I don't know what to do from here.
Note: when plugging phone into computer, the loop starts again.

the phone should not bootup with the power cord plugged in from an off state (are you turning the phone back on ?)
turn off phone by holding power 15 seconds under a bright light
plug phone into outlet (not PC) let charge till green light comes on (not Red)
hold volume down and power for 10 seconds ( you should be in hboot)
plug phone to PC choose fastboot hit power
your now in fastboot usb
from here you reflash recovery
fastboot erase cache and reboot recovery
if your still in bootloop I'm at a loss, and seems your hboot is corrupted I think you have to return your phone to Verizon or HTC.

Well I don't know if it is truly off, I'm just assuming it is.
But yes as soon as I plug the phone into the power adapter the red led flashes on, and the htc logo appears, then the loop continues.
I'll probably take it into Verizon tomorrow and update on what happens.
Update: Welp, I gave up. I'm going to get my replacement soon and I'll be turning it into Verizon. Really it's not that bad of a loss since I just wiped the phone, only thing is I lost my screen protector and carbon skin

There will be one vibration after that there will be three continuous vibrations.
try using flash tool after that by putting your phone in flash mode

Thank You, i did what you said, but there was no vibrations
Last night when i plug my phone to the charger, there is no red LED light (the phone's battery level is about 80%)
today after i hold the power buttons+ volume up + volume down, the red LED light flashed for a few times
i think it's telling me the battery is fully consumed(?)
so i plugged my phone to the charger again
and there's red light!!!
what can i tell from this?
I'm pretty sure this won't work as the boot partition got damaged during his try of flashing a recovery directly from the phone.

I am having problem with HTC Desire 500 DualSIM (hboot 1.3). It does not show anything after pressing pressing POWER on button. The orange charging LED blinks while charging.
What I have successfully done:
-Unlocked the device (from htcdev.com).
-Flashed CWM. (for hboot 1.3)
-Flashed custom ROM. (z4dug_CleaN_hboot1.03)
The device started after the ROM was flashed. It was totally operable and everything was functional. I wanted to install INT2EXT+. I turned off the phone, because I would need to go into recovery. After turning off the phone it would not start. I could not get into recovery. Now only a orange LED blinks while charging.
Note: I did not install INT2EXT+ before, I just flashed the ROM to see if the phone would run.
What I have tried:
-Entering recovery (Power + Volume Down) [Unsuccessfull]
-Pressing power button quickly [It did not boot up the phone. It is just vibrating.]
I am currently charging the phone and after some time it vibrates for 7 times.
as far as I know, the only fix is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-500/general/dual-sim-fix-dual-sim-bootup-problem-t2924591
you need to s-off first, and for that you'll need to get it to boot (for me it used to work by removing the battery for 5-10 minutes then putting it back in, plugging it in and holding volume + power

do not reboot phone with USB cable connected.
use power+vol up to reboot
are you using HTC orginal cable???
Do you have the USB Debugging enabled ?
original cable, debuggin not changed becausa frash rom flashed....I solv it with volume- + volume+ + power=shoutdown
I'v installed the last stock firmware.
Now there is another problem: the phone is completely drained, put it on charge, and after a while I displayed a black screen, with the logo of the battery in the middle, and bottom of the red "This build is for developement purpose only .... ", red LED flashing. Cut the cable, it will not budge from that screen, compelled to force a shutdown (volume keys + power). Then boot normally.
How can I avoid this problem?

you recovery might be corrupted. re-flash. i advise TWRP.
charge phone when off for a while the remove cable and turn it on.
if LED its flashing, it means its not charging.
The problem happens only when the battery is fully discharged. When I connect it to the charger, the LED flashes, and appears on the screen the logo of the battery and the red lettering at the bottom. Then, after a while the charge, forcing poweroff the phone with volume buttons and power, and the phone will restart correctly.

We agree that you intend to solve the problem, but till the time a solution is not found its advisable to keep the phone into ultra power saving mode at 15% or 10%, this will give about 8-15 hours of time to find a charger to charge your phone.
For me I have never let my phone die out of charge and I don't have a charger with me every where.
The only way to know if this is a recovery problem, which I doubt, is to flash the stock recovery and stock boot and check.
