Hi.
I purchased this a couple of days ago but have only just got around to trying it out.
First impressions are that it is very solidly programmed, it's pretty intuitive to use and that it's going to be really useful.
I have one issue so far in that my mouse only behaves as expected if I rotate it 90° clockwise when the program takes over control. I'm using it on a TV stick (mk808) which is in landscape mode which may have something to do with it. I apologise in advance if I'm overlooking an option somewhere.
I also have a feature request:
There are many games that do not respond to mouse clicks at all and are only expecting to receive touch input (obviously not the case on a TV stick).
Would it be possible to add a 'touch mouse' option so that a cursor is shown wherever the mouse cursor would have been but when clicking a 'touch' is made instead?
I hope I've explained that well enough (I can dig up some links that may be able to explain it better than I can).
Thanks.

Hi Darren,
Firstly ,I am indeed the Developer of this very app. But pardon me, I wasn't exactly able to comprehend the issue you're facing with the Mouse. Could you please rephrase the problem may be.
Now about the feature suggestion I'm afraid I won't be able to add this feature at this very moment. These are early times in the app's lifecycle so I'd like to wait for a while and collect all the suggestions and would look to implement the ones which most people want. But still, thanks a lot for the suggestion.
Anyways. do elaborate about the Mouse issue. I'll look into it.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't explain it very well, did I (I confess I was thinking more about my feature request ).
The issue is that when I move the mouse to the left the touch cursor moves upwards, when I move it up the touch cursor moves to the right etc...
I have since discovered that the keyboard is affected as well. If I create a profile with the mouse in the centre of the screen for example and put a 'q' directly to the left of it, when I enable that profile the mouse behaves as explained above and when I press q on the keyboard the touch cursor appears as if I had placed it directly above the mouse. In other words it's as if the entire profile has been rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
My assumption is that the problem is because on most mobile phones the 'natural' orientation is portrait whereas on my TV stick (and most tablets?) the 'natural' orientation is landscape (I could be completely wrong though).
I hope that explains it a bit better.
Thank you for considering my feature request, the only way I have found to get around it is using Droidmote but I would much rather use a mouse than my phone to control my TV stick. I doubt there are many others that will request it as well though, unfortunately.

I did get the issue the first time but just wanted to make sure. I now do understand the issue completely and you're absolutely correct about the Natural Orientation of Phones & TV Sticks.
I will try to reproduce the issue on my Ouya tomorrow, which too has Default Landscape Orientation. Will get it fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks again for reporting the issue.
Now, about the feature you requested, if in future I do get a bit of free time I'd create a little app which will solely do what you requested. Might come handy for a lot of users. For a Dedicated app it won't take me as much time to develop, but integrating it into MK2Touch would become extremely strenuous for me. Nice little idea though.
Hey @darren49, Version 1.0.2 of Mouse Keyboard 2 Touch GOLD is now live on Play Store.
It fixes the Orientation bug with Large Screen devices & Mini PC's. So please update to Version 1.0.2.
Hi
I've updated to v1.02 but am sorry to report that the issue is still there.
I tried uninstalling and re-downloading but with no change. Creating a new profile from scratch didn't help either.
I also tried creating a profile on my phone and transferring the file to my TV stick but no luck there either (unfortunately I don't have an OTG cable to test my mouse with my phone).
I have noticed that although in the app info the version is reported as 1.02, the version number displayed at the bottom right of the screen is 1.00 ? (I don't remember if the previous version said 1.01 or 1.00)

Hello guys.
Is the project still alive? Because i'm looking for this kind of app since a very long time ago, is it a test version or do we need to buy it directly for test it ? thanks

Indeed the project is alive. In fact a huge update is about to hit the Play Store.
And there is no test version. Only the paid one. If you have mailed me with queries you'll be answered pretty soon.
Thanks.
Ok, thanks for information. Can I know a bit more about the future update that the app will receive ? Will probablt buy it because if it's really what I think that it is, I look for it since a long time.

The new update will add Material Design UI refinements and two important features which will let people choose the Keyboard &/or Mouse manually and the other being Force Enable Orientation fix button.
The manual selection of Keyboard/Mouse should solve issues for users having more than one mouse/keyboard connected at the same time.
And forcing the Orientation fix will help users facing the Orientation problem on some devices.
Thanks for you fast answer.
I chose to buy it, so I tried it with counter strike 1.6
I have different question.
First, i'm French and i don't find any control scheme corresponding to an "azerty" keyboard, so it's a probem because it's really hard to control ... Is it possible to create it own control scheme ?
Then, I joined a screenshot of my config of the game. It's the first game i'm trying to config and it's maybe for that that it didn't work, but the only thing working is when I press w q d and s. The right click doesn't shot, the left shift doesn't sit, and the movement of the mouse don't make move the camera.
So i need to use my finger to move the camera, to shot etc even If i configured the app with button. Is something wrong with my configuration ?

My Droid 1 has a direction pad on the slide out keyboard which makes it nice for moving the cursor when entering in text instead of using your finger.
Does anyone know of a keyboard that can be installed that has a directional pad included? I got fat fingers and moving the cursor is hard enough lol. I'm running a few releases behind the newest Vegan build (just haven't backed up everything yet).
Thanks!
Bryan
(just realized this might want to be moved to the general section, not themes and apps.... sorry)
Smart keyboard use cursor keys.
Smart keyboard pro
Anyone actually managed to use them
I installed smart keyboard and Ultra keyboard but even when enabled the don't replace the existing keyboard. ( Vegan5.1 )
Using it now with tnt lite 3.1.2
Install with mod as discussed in other threads
Thumb keyboard is great for this tablet. Has cursor keys, and is easy to use. Can setup the layout for different size devices too.
Thanks for confirmation, I'll look for it

Do you actually know how to enable the keyboard? You have to select the checkmark in settings to let your tablet know it is available but to actually use the keyboard... You open something with a text box and then long press in the box. A popup should come up with input method as a selection. Tap that and all your keyboards will be there to pick from.
I only say this because I don't think you were doing the input method, change the keyboard thing...
Yes, I have them enabled the but I don't get the pop up to sellect the keyboard when I want to type. ( Working fine on my Desire phone)
Update, stupid me - long press in the text box
I am using thumb keyboard also and it has a great directional pad and seems to have great support. But either its the touch screen of the gtab or thumb keyboard cuz there is some serious issue of "lag" or lack of response. I am actually blaming the grab touch screen cuz I find it unresponsive in other places at times.

There was a thread awhile ago about touchscreen sensitivity, and a calibration apparently at boot. Search for 'calibration.ini'. It fixed the problem for lots of people.

I have found the directional keys on occasion to be a little slow myself. If you want to do the calibration of the screen just create a empty text file named calibration.ini and place it in the internal sdcard. I have one on the external also because I can never remember where it looks for it. Then reboot you tablet without touching the screen and it will do it's thing. You won't see it do anything, but it seems to work.
thumb keyboard
i also use thumb keyboard. goto handango to purchase it. less than 2 bux and its the best keyboard for gtab
ill have to give these a try out! Thanks!

Saw the video of it, looks great. Searched for it but can't find that version yet. Hope it will show up as an update soon.
OK, what am I doing wrong...
I installed several different keyboards (the free versions until I know they work for me) and I can not get any of them to be selected. I go into the settings and I see them listed and no matter how many times I press the checkbox they will not select. If I go into the settings for any of these new keayboards I get a force close.
Running TNT Lite 4.10 now. Same thing was happening on older versions.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That is a known issue with TnT. There settings menu doesn't let you select keyboards. I don't use TnT anymore but there is a way to change the settings app to the normal Android type, select the keyboard, and then there is a way to go back to the TnT settings menu and they stick. Pain in the A.. You can't just change the settings menu and leave it because it hoses up other things. There are a couple other ways I think people do it but you just need to search for "alternate keyboards" or something like that.
I personally can't stand anything TnT and run vegaN.
I get a force close when using either Smart Keyboard Pro or Thumb Keyboard. Force closes only began after repartitioning .....any ideas?? I was successfully running Smart Keyboard Pro before repartition.
I went out and grabbed a Microsoft Bluetooth Portable 6000 keyboard, which is fantastic, by the way. I purchased it with the sole purpose of using it with CM7 w/Bluetooth and aDOSBox. Yeah, I want to kick it old school.
First, when in landscape mode, it will not reorient the arrow keys. Up arrow is left, Left arrow is down and so forth. This is simply the keyboard not being remapped when orientation changes, however... I'm not seeing a simple way to compensate for this.
Any thoughts?
Also, I'm tempted to see what a Bluetooth mouse does on this. I'm finding that the keystroke standards in Android don't follow normal "Windows and clones" methodology. So, having to reach up and touch the screen displaces you enough to make it inconvenient to perform certain tasks.
Is there a proper mouse implementation either in Android or in the CM7 stack? If not, are they any APKs that would satisfy this?
I'm looking for a laptop replacement, if you get the gist of what I'm trying to do here. I want to be able to type a book on a Nook.
Ironic, eh?
I don't think android has the ability to change the key mappings based on orientation.. you might be able to write an app that would do this though. The easiest way to do this is to have to key maps and have your app switch between them when it detects and orientation change. That might not be very efficient but it would be fairly simple to write, I think.
As for the mouse, I can't comment on using it with the nook but I have used a bt mouse with other android devices and it works fine. It would just as you would expect.
I bought also a chinese flexible BT keyboard but has some lag sometimes.
Remapping of keys would interest me also.
There is a fix for the rotation problem. Also for getting the "<" and ">" buttons working. Search isn't working for me and i don't feel like manually combing the forums for it, but it's in a thread labelled "chisleu's mod" or something like that.
edit, found the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008612
I'm going to try this out. This is likely exactly what I'm looking for. I don't expect to use the keyboard in portrait mode... I'll let everyone know how it works for me.
I will eventually be cool enough to write something like this myself, but until then... Script Kiddie, AWAY!

Could be some bug, thanks for sharing this issue. Pieces thrown out of the screen are supposed to come back almost immediately.
Was it a single piece or a few pieces joined together(one bigger piece)?
I will test some more and will try to reproduce it and fix it. No one else has reported it so it must be happening rarely.
Once again, thanks for the feedback.
Hm, i've tried to do this again, but as You said they snapped back. Last time it was chunk of 4 pieces from the edge of screen. I've tried Young info menu and going back, but still no luck.
But I have to say this id wonderfull app. I'm lovin it

Lmao!
Sorry, that sounded funny.
"New app everybody!"
"I broke it"
Anyway, cool app! Thanks!
Alright, I had it for the past 3 weeks or so and here is the rundown.
The good: Great app, great collection of lovely puzzles with different themes and levels of difficulty. Amused me for hours and is a great time killer, especially during travel. Loved the choices provided and found it hard to put down.
The not so good: Buggy, occasionally sluggish, pieces do mysteriously disappear - had just one to go, so know it wasn't there. Among the biggest bugs and annoyances - pieces not turning when supposed to, pieces not locking in when they should and the constant 'locked pieces' popup notifications, even for pieces just stuck due to bug. Some puzzles had to be abandoned because the they got either too sluggish or pieces became unmanageable. Once or twice couldn't quit the whole game, not just particular puzzle played at the time.
Overall: Great game and concept regardless of the above. Once the small bits and pieces are ironed out, it will be one of my personal favorites. Would love the opportunity to use own pictures for puzzles.
Thank You very much for creating it, I really enjoyed it and wish you all the best with games development, I think you are on the right track
Hello enigma1nz,
Thank you very much for your opinion and feedback. This type of feedback, especially the "not so good" part, really helps me improve the game. I promise I'll do my best to fix all those problems you mentioned
I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions, they will help me identify the problems and come up with solutions/fixes.
1. What phone are you using? Should not really matter, but is always good to know.
2. What do you mean by "pieces not turning when supposed to"? Do you mean that in a game with enabled rotation pieces do not rotate when you tap them?
3. What do you mean by "pieces not locking in when they should"? There are two cases when pieces are locked: (1) when an unlocked piece is matched with a locked piece, the combined piece gets locked and (2) when you position a corner piece in its correct corner it gets locked.
4. About the "locked piece" popup: it appears when you try to move a locked piece more than certain number of pixels, to tell you not to try and to let you know that this is not a bug. I introduced this in the latest version along with "automatic locking". If you lock the piece yourself, you probably know about the locking, but if not, you might think it is some bug, hence the popup. Let me know if you have an idea how to improve that.
5. What do you mean by "couldn't quit the whole game"? You cannot get to the main menu or when you get there and press Back it does not exit?
Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to write here.
I am almost finished with the new version. It will have 15 more images and ability to import images from your phone. Hope you'll like it

Alright, lets do this I really appreciate you coming back with all your questions. I actually recommended your game to others, so we are all watching with great interest.
1. I am using T-Mobile HD2, running WP7.5 Mango, would be good to hear from 'native' Mango users and see if they experienced the same little annoyances.
2. Yes. In the very hard mode, where the pieces are supposed to rotate, or the custom game, some get stuck and fail to rotate when tapped, they also get difficult to move around the screen.
3. Matching pieces fit together, but fail to lock and buzz as one combined piece, e.g. the contours will still be visible and pieces are still separatable. I usually leave them in such unlocked state, because they will lock and buzz after a while or when they have other pieces added to them, that triggers the locking somehow. The 'locking and buzzing' feature is great otherwise!
4. The pop-up gets activated at random and often, even if you try to move the free pieces around the screen, so from time to time you have to click OK for the pop-up to go away every few seconds. I think the best way of doing it is to include 'don't show again' button.
5. The game just froze, couldn't get out of it, go back to the Main menu or anywhere. Used Mango multitasking to use the phone and leave it on the background, then reboot. Sometimes the last piece gets sluggish or can't be turned and I try to go back to the 'preview' and back to the game to see if it solves it, sometimes it works, sometimes I just leave the game and come back to the saved game later to finish.
Yesterday I encountered a new glitch that I never had before and it never happened again - the whole assembled puzzle with a few pieces missing in the middle moved around the screen with the remaining loose pieces getting covered by it as it moved and appearing again as the empty spaces moved over them. Hard to explain.
But as I mentioned - GREAT GAME. Easy to navigate and fairly straightforward. Can't wait to test the new version!!!! Thank you again so very, very much. I played it on a long trip recently and was surprised to find I made it to my destination without even noticing, that says a lot.
I haven't played this game since I downloaded it, though it's fun. I just have a looooong list of games.
Using the Lumia 800, I didn't notice issues with the pieces not rotation.
I'd like to remind users that the HD2 does not run WP7 natively and the display drivers are not as good as native devices. For example, my HD2 with a 4.3" screen is prone to more typographical errors than my Lumia 800, despite the fact that the keys on the Lumia 800 are much smaller and my fingers aren't exactly skinny.

I have no problems typing whatsoever, haha. Perhaps you need to update your WP7... I doubt your typographical errors have anything to do with display drivers
Yes, I mentioned in my post that it would be good to hear from users running native Mango, but seeing you haven't played the game since you downloaded it, perhaps you'd like to give it a good test over a few days and see what happens? It is possible that problems are limited to HD2 only, but we'll never know until more users lend a helping hand and test drive this game on their devices.

FFS, I know how to type! I have no problem typing well on the Titan, Lumia, and Focus Flash. The display drivers on the HD2, running BTTF ROM, are very different than native hardware.
Will play a few puzzles over the next few days and get back to you.
Thank you both for your feedback.
enigma1nz, thank you for providing the answers, really appreciate it.
I was silent for a while because I was busy working on the new version. I submitted it yesterday, hopefully it will be available in a few days.
Here is what's new and changed in version 1.3:
[New] Added 15 new images
[New] Added ability to import custom images
[New] Added sound for locking a puzzle piece
[New] Added sound for back button
[New] Added setting to disable "locked piece" prompt
[Improved] Performance improvements in image gallery
[Improved] In-game performance improvements
[Improved] Minor user interface fixes and improvements
I hope you'll like it!
The new version is now available in the marketplace!
Update! Got it working with Bluez IME:
1. Download Bluez IME off the Google Play Store and then the addon for iCade off of Google Code (located in info on app description)
2. Turn on Bluetooth and pair the controller.
3. Make sure input method is Bluez IME as SteppingSplash stated.
4. Select Device Driver as iCade (HID).
5. Now at this point, the controller should be good to go. It should be paired and connected with BluezIME. Just reconfigure the buttons again in the app (apparantly unknown buttons?) and make sure you enable special controllers in "other settings."
So far, tested and works with NESoid and Gensoid.
P.S. It seems to be testy when configuring. If you keep getting an error message about not connected, turn off bluetooth and try again. I hope all of this helps everyone with this controller.

Hi guys,
Just got the new iCade 8-bitty bluetooth controller from ThinkGeek. I'm not too happy with it so far. I am having massive problems trying to connect it to use with my devices/programs.
NESoid, SNESoid, GBAoid, Gearoid, Gensoid, Atarioid all do not work.
Mame4all is the only program on Android that works with it.
Supposedly, if you use the Android App Bluez IME, it will allow the controller to work, but I have had only minimal results with this. Many buttons do not work because I believe there is no driver for it installed. I thought I downloaded it and installed it, but I haven't been having good luck with it yet.
Windows refuses to connect the controller. Tried many different options. Refuses to connect.
Anybody smarter have better results with it than me? It seems to be truly for the ugh, BARF, Apple devices....
Do you have the input method box checked in your emulators? In the emulator, menu button>settings>other settings>"Use input method". That'll let you use a Bluetooth controller with the emulator.
Same problem here on Transformer Infinity. The weird part is that Snesoid will detect the key presses when I am in the key mapping settings section but then won't detect them in game at least not reliably. I found that if I hit a button furiously for a few seconds it might detect one key press. Oh I also tested with my Xoom and saw the same issues.
Oh and yes I have tried with the 'input method' both enabled and disabled and saw no changes.

Me too to the input method change...seems to just be "locked" out.
Same problem. You start to mash keys and it does detect one press. Hard to play Sonic the Hedgehog with only 1 input action per 10 seconds...
Well, I guess I should've not bought this. I'm going to return it if I can.
Yes I know Why does the key mappings screen work PERFECTLY in those emulators and in-game, no inputs????
Hey man, here in France the 8-bitty its really expensive! you still having problems?
I mainly want it for emulators, like snesoid.

Ok, after a few weeks I can tell you after setting up, the retro controller works great. Snesoid and the others work fine. (With BluezIME)
Still though, if you are worried over money, and if you have one lying around. get a Wiimote Controller w/ the Classic controller attached to it.

8bitty configuration
I tried your tutorial with my Nexus 7 but when I try mapping the buttons it says unknown in every emulators... How did you manage to map them properly ? In BluezIme it seems that the mapping is made for an icade stick controller... Thanks for the support !
Guys, I'm not buying this till I recieve from you 100% confirmation it's not a wasted buy. Otherwise I'm waiting. It's 65 bucks in France, SUPER EXPENSIVE!
I can confirm that this works 100% with Nesoid, GBCoid, Ataroid, Gameboid, Snes9x EX, Frodo C64, and MAME4droid on my Acer a500. I'm copying files right now, but FPse appears to have set up correctly as well. (Minus a few buttons of course) I'm working on Dosbox too, but it's being very cranky. The controller has a nice response time from what I've observed.
For people still having problems, this may be a solution:
1. Go into Bluez's setup
2. Click "Select IME" (Even if you've already set Bluez as your input method through the normal android keyboard and input settings)
3. Select "Bluez IME"
This was the problem I was having. I'd set Bluez IME as my input device within Android's settings. I had followed Dan's instructions, done everything he'd said, but it was still registering wxad key presses. When I went through Bluez's settings, I checked the IME selection and found that it was still set to English Android Keyboard. After setting that one to Bluez IME as well, everything started working as it should.
Thanks Dan for figuring this stuff out. I'm going to pass this thread on to ThinkGeek if you don't mind. I'm positive there are people looking to buy this who would benefit from the answers here.
Some emulators that work for 8-bitty without Bluez IME
The android aps "Nes.emu" and Sega "MD.emu" both work without Bluez if anybody is having trouble with it working. Icade setting right in the emulators.
I know that this thread is specifically for Android and thanks to the OP, I was able to get this working on my Droid X, but I was wondering if there was any way to get this working with Ubuntu? I've tried looking everywhere but nobody can seem to help. If someone could please point me in the right direction, I'd be so appreciative.
I just recently got one of these icade controllers too, and am having the same problem. I use an android based Samsung galaxy II, and I have both dosbox and Frodo (commodore 64) emulators on my phone with my games on them, and mame too but no roms for the mame ones yet. Ok, I had set up the bluetooth for the icade but still would not work on the Frodo one. Does anyone have any ideas for the Frodo one, how can this be set up properly? I am not an expert, but sort of basic to intermediate with these emulators, so this has baffled me. I am getting my ipad in a few weeks time, thinking I should wait til the ipad to use the icade, but would like to try further on my android phone. As for mame, not sure how to find the roms as the ones I had originally for ColecoVision console, I have absolutely NO experience in converting them to the pc so how do I get roms safely from others?
Can't get Bluez IME to recognize controller
Hi, is there anything I need to do with the nexus 7 or Bluez IME to get it to see my 8-bitty controller?
I turned the controller on and went into Bluez IME but when it scans for devices it never finds the controller.
Kyle
Hello there !
First of all, Excuse me if I do not express myself well, english is not my first language.
So I've bought the 8-bitty, and I have some problems with it. I've try it with mame4droid and SNES. At first, I've tried without installing Bluez IME, but I encountered some issues. For exemple, in the game, directions were wrong, my character was always going on the left, but the other directions where working (for the few I've tried), So it was not possible to play correctly. One time all was going well, I've played Street fighter II on SNES, and Metal Slug II on Mame4droid, all was ok. But the next day, the problems began again...
So I've installed Bluez IME, and wow, it's working in SNES ! But for Mame4droid, not working In the app, I can configure the buttons, all working great, but in game, no one respond... I really don't know what to do, and I find nowhere informations...
So if one of you can help me, it will be really nice
Thanks in advance ! (and I hope that my message will be understandable )
[edit]
Hello again !
I finally find a solution for my problem I use Bluez IME, but in the settingsof Mame4droid, I set "default" in external controller, instead of Icade, and now it seems to work perfectly
Forgive me for the forum necromancy, but this is the only thread that mentions the Nexus 7 and the 8-Bitty.
Its well known that in Android 4.2, they changed the Bluetooth stack. As a result, BluezIME and Wiimote connection apps were broken, possibly permanently.
I own the 2013 Nexus 7, and am stuck with 4.3. Is there ANYBODY out there who has gotten the 8-Bitty to work with any app on 4.3?
If not, can anyone recommend a gamepad that will work on 4.3 reasonably well?

Maybe try on the 2013 Nexus 7 forum?

I have downloaded and run Remix OS Player on two different computers now and neither one of them has captured my hardware keyboard, I can use the onscreen keyboard but that really lessens the functionality and is half the point of having it run on a desktop. Can anyone advise as to how to resolve this issue? The options, advanced options, and the OS options are so dummy proofed it is impossible to do anything advanced. Is there config files I can edit or...?
I had this happen once right after installation and running the Google Play Store activator and couldn't login in to the Play Store because I couldn't type on the physical keyboard. I shutdown the player, restarted it, and then the problem went away. Might work for you.
Hi.
I have this too, regardless if I restart or not. I actually can't figure out what I have to change in language and imput options to have my keyboard back. The only thing I can do is using the virtual keyboard. I think this happened when I changed the language to french, or tried the virtual keyboard for the first time before then deactivating it. Since I can't find a reset config to default, I'm going to reinstall.
If anyone have a guess how getting my azerty hardware keyboard back, could he please explain ? I find the way the multiple language/imput options are displayed isn't very clear and whatever I do it doesn't work. I'm visibly not alone since this thread is already open, and it may be useful.
Edit : looks like the config files are not in the remix folder. After new installation in different folder, it's directly the same with the new separated machine.

There never was any actual ability to use the physical keyboard even though the settings say it's present. No amount of fiddling with the unintuitive settings seems to correct the problem. My keyboard is a Saitek Eclipse USB keyboard on Windows 7 x64. I imagine this must be a limitation of the emulator or some basic setting. The two systems I have run this on are very similar setups with the exception that the other one uses a PS2 mouse and keyboard. Shortcuts like CTRL + ALT to unbind keyboard and mouse function normally so why not typing inside the emulator?

I don't understand. Are you saying you have never been able to use your computer's keyboard ? Well sorry, you already said it sooner too. I didn't read it was the same person.
The thing is I could use it till two days ago, and I'm not the only one. I could type the physical keyboard at first start of the player without doing anything, it was default. Then probably messed up with the options I touched and can't have it back. RemixOS live or hardware installed have the keyboard detected and used as default. So does the player (except maybe you but it must just be that your keyboard isn't recognized or I don't know what.
Detection and options problem here. No lack in feature like I understand you are thinking.
I am saying that there has been not one moment I could use my computer's physical keyboard in Remix OS player, not for the very first initial run nor extracting it to a different folder, it works just fine on both computers for Windows use though. I am using the PS2 keyboard as I type this... I wouldn't think it would be difficult for the player to bind to a generic Human Interface Device or a USB keyboard... Both Mice work just fine so I figure it's just a bad config file or something. Hopefully someone figures it out soon as it's annoying to say the least.
Since I had it then lost it. Could one user or more, whose physical keyboard works since the beginning and who never changed anything to default config, screen all his/their language/keyboard relater configs please ? This may do.
Guess they don't care... oh well... Nox it is.
If this can help some people forced to use virtual keyboard too. After looking for a suitable virtual keyboard, I ended using Minuum Keyboard and Hacker's Keyboard app. The first takes the less place possible, and the 2nd looks like it has the better ratio between space used and easy access to all keys (it's sort of computer keyboard replica) ... waiting for this issue resolve if it is resolved a day, this will sorta do the trick ... But the problem really sucks.
@Saiber77 @dzeek @Esdeve - Sorry to be late with this reply. I did share your issue with our product manager and he's been working on a fix with the developer team. We believe we've isolated the issue to the Gaming toolkit causing some incompatibilities with certain hardware drivers and configurations. We're still in the middle of working on it but I'll definitely update when there's news.
@Saiber77 - And, we always read and care... just somewhat short on resources and we just finished a week-long public holiday here.
Thanks!

I just installed Remix Player on my Intel NUC and find that my keyboard is not recognized at all. I have a Corsair K70 keyboard that besides being an incredible mechanical keyboard works otherwise great under Windows 10. Hopefully Jide can provide a solution.
Wow, public holidays, devs know what it is and have that too ?
Whatever. I run on a laptop, but if you need info about hardware I'll give. Thought it's already done in the hardware thread. Sorry not being able to remember exactly since what action from me the keyboard stopped being recognized (and I don't think I tried the gaming toolkit, if I'm right about it being the d pad we can see on the right).
Hello. New user here.
This might seem weird but I also had the trouble of not being able to type anything inside the player (was trying to login to the Play Store but couldn't type in my email address). I can use the CTRL+ALT keys to get the pointer out and I see the pinch? option when I hold down the CTRL key. But when I installed the terminal/command window app, the keyboard began working inside the player (weird right?)

Windows 10
Microsoft K830 Keyboard
I just found this OS; but like others crtl+alt is working, but nothing else. Hope it can be resolved so I can use the keyboard to play games
how can i enable virtual keyboard?
yea the keyboard outside American is pretty bad,my French keyboard here is not supported very well, but the player is still in early beta stage so can't complain here.there are better emulator .
The dev team has been alerted to this thread and the issues being expressed here. I'll update when there are either fixes, or if there's something you guys could help us with to solve these keyboard issues.
As for holidays, our devs work at least through Saturdays and some work Sundays as well. However, for state appointed holidays, it's illegal to order staff to work, so it's entirely up to the staff.
Thanks again!

i used to have the same problem, but i get to fix it making this:
- Open Remix Player
- Go to the last button on the white bar on the right side of the screen emulator (3-dot button)
- On the new pop-up screen, go to settings, and change the keyboard shortcuts option to Emulator Device ( default)
- Go and check if Remix Player can recognize Keyboard Input, if not, go back and change again the keyboard shortcuts option to Virtual Device and check if now Remix Player recognize Keyboard Input.
I hope that this steps can solve the problem for everyone.
psd: I don't know if it's needed to do this every time the emulator runs, if the keyboard is not working each time the emulator starts, then i assume that its have to be done this if you want to get to work your keyboard.
If you have the issue, can please try @starfoxcom 's solution?
We think this could be possibly fix the issue. We are trying to fix this issue fundamentally.
