Since Sony has announced a stock rom on lollipop for ZR, I doubt anybody would waste their time finding an outside lollipop source to compile on. We probably have to wait for official rom to kickstart the community, since it will be specific for our device tree.

Lollipop
how much time to make a custom Lollipop like AOSP relased Lollipop for Z,Z1,Z3 ...

The Z already has one - though not nearly stable or functional enough for daily driver status.
As for us - I don't think we'll get one. Sony has not released device binaries for our device, which means building it ourselves (i.e. non-devs) is out of the question. The yuga's AOSP Lollipop build is unstable, and many vital things don't work, which makes porting it practically useless (even if we knew how). Our best hope is for a custom ROM team to release it for the yuga and port it over, which we would need a dev to do - and even then it probably wouldn't work, at least for a while. Alx31TLse would probably be the one best qualified for this, as he's ported several ROMs from yuga for us. However, for the same reason, he will probably be too busy to do so.
We will probably get the official L update halfway through next year or so. If you want it sooner, you could try porting it from the Z1/2/3 when they get it; I think there's a guide somewhere for that, though I think that was for the Z. For AOSP, your best hope is that they will release the binaries for the ZR.
Note: I am not entirely certain about the necessity of Sony-supplied binaries. I write this based on what I remember from reading their AOSP page a few weeks ago. If someone can correct/clarify/enlighten me on this, I'd be grateful.

Jan 2015, android 5.0 lollipop will be in our ZR, hopefully :fingers-crossed:

I think the FXP team would be the ones to build the first lollipop rom for ZR. CM12 should be out by nov end, and the FXP team would probably take 2 weeks to port a nightly. Let's keep our fingers crossed :cyclops:

That is a BIIIG stretch; even the Z1/2 probably won't get it by then, going by previous update patterns. The wait will probably take even longer, since Sony will have to figure out how to meld their own skin and Material Design, which are very different from each other. That's probably why they're giving the GPE Z Ultra the update before the proper flagships - it's basically stock, so they don't have to modify it.
Don't get me wrong, I want L just as bad as you do; I just don't want to get my hopes up just to have them crushed.

Lollipop
Why AoSP Team didn't making d lollipop for Zr ...??

Stock android

So, I bought the T because alot of developers said they will develop roms for it.
There aren't that many roms available but there is one that is AOSP. That ROM was posted in August 2012 and hasn't received any update yet
My question: why isn't there an AOSP ROM available for Xperia T? I would love to have AOSP stock rom on my T :x

I know development is a little dry here, but I'm sure things will start catching up soon. The available devs are actually quite busy with cm10/10.1. I know it can be look a little gloomy, especially if you are coming from a rather busy forum, but hold your horses coz you can't request for updates and ETAs

I was wondering the same. Maybe through cm team D:
I'm pretty sure there will be custom ROM for our Xperia T but for now the source code is not out yet so no lollipop until it's published by Google.
There are fewer of us with this phone by the day, but I hope someone with the required skills is able to make an Android 5 rom for the Xperia T.
I think CM team will do, the only thing that makes me worried is Stable Kernel :crying: I don't wanna go back to old days with random reboots
Any chance to get OmniRom 5.0?
Well, some time ago tilal said, that he will work on building Lollipop for T.

Android M dev previews

Has anyone tried building this yet?
http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/tool/software-binaries-for-aosp-m-developer-preview/
Could this mean we get an official AOSPA build for the Z, when Android M lands?
That binaries aren't for XZ. Z have only Kitkat binaries published, so we need to wait for official Android 6 rollout with source
Yeah I realised that some of the reports I'd read were false listing the Z, so annoying as I was going to build it on my linux box at work.
Someone told Android M 6.0 is'nt supported for XZ.
I'm not really familiar with building ROM's but isn't it possible to make a port of the ROM Google uploaded for it's nexus devices?
Nope, it's not possible. Android 6 release date is 29 september, so we can wait this 2 weeks to start anything with new candy

Is it possible for me to manually port Miui 7 (LP) edition to the xperia Z1?

i have been waiting for miui 7 lollipop edition for the xperia z1 for the longest. now i dont know how to really build kernels be i can somewhat port roms.
i see that select xiaomi phones have a lollipop version of Miui v7 and i would love to get my hands on it. now i ask, is remotely possible to do this? i assume so but no one has taken the time to do it?
not to mention that our current miui v7 can work on stock kernel with a locked bootloader. now im not asking all that but i would like to get this project underway

Miui is proted using patchrom which currently supports only kitkat at the moment, someone suggested on one thread in the miui forum that lollipop might be skipped and patchrom for MM will be released, purely speculation of course but just like any OEM these guys are slow at releasing updates.

I don't think they will make a patch rom for mm. If they wanted to they would have been done so.
Also do I have to use patch ROM? I want to do it manually. Perhaps I'll port one thing at a time. Trial and error.
~xperia Z1~
Well I'm a little hard headed so out of boredom and free time I'll slowly port and read debug for errors and dependencies starting with the home launcher, then system settings etc
~xperia Z1~
take a look at this, its been done. someone has miui v7.1 on a non miui phone.
theres a way i guess.
http://www.gizdev.com/rom-miui-7-1-global-stable-with-swap-patch-rom-for-lenovo-a7000/
what if we ported that rom (or any rom in gereral) itself from that lenovo-a7000 to the xperia Z1?

Is it possible to change the 'sony stock' 'marshmallow' 'porting' rom?

Sony said, No more Z1 OTA. sadly.:crying:
So I want to know.
Is it possible to change the 'sony stock' + 'marshmallow'
+ 'custom(like Rockz1l)' + 'porting(z5, X series... Whatever)' rom
in the future?
Sorry for bad Eng.
I wish it is possible.

No, because you need Marshmallow sources from Sony, which they'll never release.
Z1 is done and obsolete. If you really want the latest Android version, download the unofficial CM/AOSP Marshmallow ROMs; otherwise, buy a new phone. Although CM/AOSP MM build has been released a while ago, they're still full of issues (camera is bad, low battery life, etc.). They're still under active development, so things may change in the future. I recommend staying with Lollipop because it's stable and has excellent battery life.

Thanks for your help.
I'm on 5.1.1 Kai rom + rockz1l kernel.
and I love sony features.(DSEE HX, Sony camera...)
So, I wish what I said, but it can't....sadly :crying:
maybe, buy used Z2 or X series is best choice in current situation.

People had success with porting Sense 6 to hammerhead, and it's surprisingly usable with some issues considering it's a non-source port for an entirely different device.
Porting a proprietary ROM is a pain as it mostly involves trial-and-error to find out what's preventing the ROM from booting up but we will see if a similar project appear for the Z1
