If you want some extra Swag for your Bionic, I just ported AOKP-KitKat to our device and after some testing I can confirm that LTE, camera, phone, hotspot, MMS, SMS, and everything else works!
For those who care, I just uploaded my AOKP-KK device tree for Targa here.
If you want some extra speed try JBX Kernel

The only "issue" I'm having is that it's pretty RAM hungry but I also downloaded all of my apks and so there's a lot of background processes running. And no I haven't. Personally I rarely use jbx because I hate dealing with trickster lol kexec runs fine for me but I will admit that jbx gives a lot of performance. Even if dtrail stops updating it, the current versions should run fine

I'm on jbx kernel 8/21/14. It's his latest. I was having trouble with trickster mod as well. JBX only ran smooth on 7/28/14? (I think is the date) and 8/21/14 version. It was more of trickstermod crapping out. I have swap space setup and some custom scripts as well. Smooth stable oc at 1.48ghz

Forgot to mention. I have a swap space thread floating around somewhere. Might help the ram issues. Not sure if the stock aokp kernel is compatible. I know JBX is for sure though.

I've been wanting to set up swap on my SD card but its an older one with a lot of pictures that I would hate to go corrupt when the swap degrades my SD card lol. I've always had a droid x and did scripts for that and build.prop tweaks but with the bionic I just leavebit how it is cuz it runs good. So in your opinion the newest jbx+trickster runs good? What tweaks do you select in the installer? I don't care about battery I'm a speed demon

I select all but I deselect HDMI off by default because I use HDMI. The only problem is the version I'm using isn't up for download anymore. Dtrails website is down. PM me if you want it I can upload for you. FYI I've had swap space on my sd-ext over two years and have never experienced any issues. I bet you can find a nice class 10 32 GB sd on amazon for dirt cheap. I got mine for $30 bucks and that was 2 years ago.

@Eiht (sorry if I'm thinking of wrong person) but orange bar kitkat bug doesn't seem to happen on this! Every kk ROM I have tried always gets orange data indicator and I have to use airplane mode to get data back. Been using this all week and no issues. Also I seem to be getting 4g in places I normally only get 3g...idk why though. This is with the kernel included not jbx...idk why jbx always gives me data connection problems :/

Hahaha... Its only been posted for 15 minutes man. Its still early, people are getting to work, etc... They will check forums soon, lol
I am not very graphically inclined and I usually focus on a clean stable core ROM. I let the themers do there thing. I am sure you will see some themes pop up. Some may already be compatible. Not sure though...
Build it and they will come!

Osirus my friend! How it going? I plan top be around for a while. I thought phone ROMS were fun.. Been doing them for 6+ years... Then I did a Tab ROM. Its like love all over again. This thing is INSANE! I got my hands on a 7" tab and realized I needed the 10.1.. lol All of this in less than a week! I have only had the 10.1 for a couple days now but its by far my most favorite device... EVER!
Just had to get a that damn bloat off it, lol. You know how I am with bloat. This is version 1.0 so there are bounds to be opportunities for improvement. Let me know what you find!

Yea, boosteds themes are great. Ive used all of them. One of the things that really sux about our tablets is the keyboard. Whether its the samsung or the google. You HAVE to try Thumb Keyboard. For what is worth, Pershoot enlisted quite a few of us to help debug the hell out of his kernel before he ever released it. By far it is the best kernel out there, and as far as stability goes, i probably fastboot'ed, wiped and reflashed a thousand times to make sure everything was rock solid.
As far as themes go, Boosted is where its at, IMHO. I haven't flashed anything new in a long time, but he's been awesome about dropping updates when a dev pumps out something new.
Glad to have you onboard and can't wait to get home so I can use the bandwidth god gave me (and comcast) to get this rom on my tab.

I share this with you, I found a rom here on xda, Hybrid Rom, code name "Paranoid" is not a rom with all the options that my rom is AOKP, but focused on the tablet.
This rom is a very interesting option, you can "set" any app to have an individual appearance tablet / smartphone, this is phenomenal (I love it!).
Of course, I included my installation aroma, with applications black and some other options (the same as AOKP).
Personal, remembering that my focus is the segment AOKP original, then things can go wrong, I have not tested for a long time, and will not give much support to this, but I'm sure the majority is working perfectly
I can not stop thanking these guys:
Spleef;
T3bill;
ATRIXXIRTA;
D4rKn3sSyS;
Paranoid Team;
hear everything these guys say, are behind all this too, always helping me with what I need!
I am grateful to all of them, are always where you need them ....

I flashed Spleef's version last night and most things seemd to work great.
I have my sim card in another phone so I cant test cell, and data connectivity, but wifi and UI are good.
I noticed that the rom was never going into deep sleep.
I tried flashed the bluesleepfix.zip that usually seems to help with this, and I kept getting System UI force closes.
Im gonna flash leo's and see if there is any noticeable change, mainly with the ability for the rom to "Deep Sleep"
But awesome work guys!
Make me love my atrix more and more!!

---------- Post added at 02:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:38 PM ----------
Here are some tips and tricks ive figure out on this rom.
1: Stay away from "Global Density" "Default SystemUI DPI" and "Default SystemUI DPI" settings in "paranoid settings"
Messing with these settings caused some systemUI force closes that caused my notification bar to disappear and the only way to get it back was to do a full wipe and re-install. Now to be fair this only happened to me with Spleef's build, and I have yet to test these settings in Leo's build, but I find them pointless, as I will explain.
2: Any change to the UI you want to make can be made easily through the "list apps" setting. Just navigate to the "settings" apk and make the LAYOUT "Tablet." Set the Dpi to 190, and it fits perfect. Any app the you want to be "tablet" moded can done this way as well.
3: Enable "tablet" LAYOUT for nova launcher. Set the DPI to 220. Navigate to "Nova Settins." Go to Destop/Width Margin and set to none. Same with Height Margin. Now go to "Dock" and change the "Width Margin" to none as well.
Now we are able to use all the space on the screen instead of it all being squished together, and you will get the neat tablet "3d blue cube" effect when changing home screens.
Hope this helps, and anything else I figure out ill post.
Good job guys!

Is gps working and wifi tethering?
Those two features along with battery life are the important ones left besides camcorder which im patiently waiting.
I've been running this ROM for a week it's solid all the way...I can't get GPS, WiFi is perfect though. Couple of random reboots every once in a while but awesome ROM

New Command decision
I have locked the current zip in our beta... it's still in testing right now. Command decision - when 10.0 (or whatever the next version is) comes out I'll put it public.
All beta testers on the list and those who already have flashed this zip - I will be sending OTA updates of the new betas until the official release.
(Coming Soon!) *Truly Stable, Fast & Buttery Smooth*
Not yet released, but stable fast and smooth?
I am going to remain skeptical until it is released. The beta versions sound just like every other 4.2.2 rom available.

Takes about 4-5 min, at least on my end, let it run its course.
I been messing with this ROM for almost an hour now and I cant seem to encounter any bugs so far, Ive tested every setting i could think of to look for bugs but it seems to be good on my end. Just wanted to let you know Scott its clean here so far.

thank god. thanks. one last thing i seen on another thread that someone posted a mod to increase the speaker volume slightly by modding the numbers. i believe the default was 60 but dont quote me on that. changing permissions and such is one of the few things out of my comfort level. would you ever consider a flashable zip or a rom with a slightly updated bump in these numbers based on testing for those of us looking for an easier way. it would be nice to have the stock speaker safely but slightly louder. i have done all kinds of mods on android but i have a mac and things like this just are not that easy without a windows computer.

Yeah, the wiping is just crazy!
I had a few people check it out before I posted it but thats not to say they could find every little thing. jspradling7 caught the only bug known so far and I fixed that on this upload (over the beta)
BUt yeah, let me know because I could not test everything... The verizon kernel and modules are just wierd. The touch panel is 90 degrees out of whack so when I held my AT&T Phone horizontal the display would go portait and when held portait it would go horizontal... Needless to say I could eventually disable screen rotaion but when it came to radio related stuff I couldn't really test it much.

I'm been running the ROM since you posted it and it runs very smooth.
A couple of minor issues I've seen but it could be my settings:
Settings>Carbon Fibers>Lockscreen >Active Display: I had to turn this off, though I like the feature. It kept wanting to wake up my device and seemed to interfere with the battery charging because it kept waking up the tablet.
Status bar and menu bar disappear occasionally. A quick press off of the power button then back on brings it back. i haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. Like I said, it could be a tweak or a setting on my end unrelated to the ROM.
Thanks for your work on this!
Thanks! I'm glad to know that it works. I'll try to get an LTE one up.

confession...
Was not expecting much from ROM since I have installed a couple of other KK ROMs on my KFHD89 and they were just 'ok' ( not wanting to dis their work, it is very much appreciated ). Well, I am pleasantly surprised with Carbon :good:
Mostly two things, performance...everything seems smoother, silkier, quicker...and battery is pretty excellent. I understand some of that is related to KK, but I sense some differences with Carbon.
Still have issue with some apps crashing on launch after install...where the solution is to backup and restore with Titanium Backup...wish this was not needed as a 'fix' ... also, it doesn't work with all apps.
Other than that, it's great and hope OP continue to keep us KFHD89 folks updated with fresh KK...at least for a little while
Thank you!

I downloaded and successfully installed the XBMC app from the link you provided. It went through the 'preparing for first run', I am able to swipe through various bits of the menu...I see scrolling news at the bottom. I was able to use the Weather app. Appears to be working. Not sure what else I could do or test with this app.
edit: I added a couple of 'channels' like HGTV and DIY...I was able to start playing/streaming a show on the HGTV channel.
edit2: forgot to mention, it flips the screen 180, but when you turn the tablet to reorient, it sticks, it doesn't flip back.
Great help

Loving the other KitKat Jem ROMs here as well, I appreciated your comment about wanting to keep this device section from getting too boring! Glad to hear there's still activity on the LTE front, although I realize that's a tricky one. I'm not expecting miracles here, just glad to hear about the interest. Thanks for all of it!
