Is their an option on the N4 to show the menu options on the screen? I know i can drag the menu icon to my home screen. but im looking for a quick way to access the menu settings.
Holding down the left "recents app" button down should bring up the respective menu on whatever screen you are currently on.

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to change what the '+' button at the bottom of the home screen does. At the moment it links to the ad widget/program/shortcut option menu. but once you have your home screen all sweet you don't really need this. You can always just long press on the screen to reach this menu anyway.
I would like to customize this button to launch directly into an application, or perhaps a shortcut to a sound profile context menu.
Any ideas?
Instead of the long press on home screen, is it possible to create a shortcut that does the same thing as this action? Or an app, like better cut, that can?
Not really following that you are trying to ask.
Long press on home screen let you add shortcut to apps and widgets.
or in app tray press and hold app to add to homescreen.
You want an app to do what is already available?
A shortcut that brings up the "Add to home screen" menu, instead of long pressing to access it.
You can also do: Menu > Add
Tried loading Lorex Mobile Lite on new S5 today. App appears to load fine. When I run it splash screen shows up then blank screen with "No DVR set up hit menu> add connection. There is no menu button anywhere on screen. Running 4.4.2 The same app on my wife's Nexus 7 tablet running 4.4.2 shows a menu button to right of the return button on bottom of screen an then works correctly. Any idea how to get menu button to show up or atleast get into menu?

I've run into this on a few apps. no settings menu icon in the app, no settings menu to the left of to the home key...
if you press and hold the multi tasking button the settings menu will come up.

Tried that. The app was not offered as on option to open in multi mode.

open the app you are trying to access the settings menu of.
press and hold the button to the left of the home button.
the settings menu of that app will then open.
pressing and holding what used to be the settings button still functions as the old settings button.

I have an AT&T HTC One running OEM 4.4.2
I am unable to get the capacitive home button to display the settings menu at my home screen. I have set the home button to "hold for menu and swipe up for Google" in the System Settings menu.
I am able to get this feature to work in Nova Launcher, but I cannot get the settings menu to appear on the home screen using HTC BlinkFeed. I prefer having this menu shortcut available versus having to use the settings icon. I am used to this feature being available with my previous Samsung phones.
Thank you for your help.
The three menu dots are showing up in apps that don't have it built in even though I have my home button set to open the menu on a long press. It's especially annoying now because it's an overlay that covers screen elements. Any ideas on how to fix it?
