The right size? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I love the compact even though it's been into repair already over the glass cracking issue in the back. Has anybody had the urge to upgrade to the z3 big brother? Not sure if this device is too small for me

I came from the Xperia Z to the Z3C. The XZ is about the same size as the Z3, but didn't really had the urge to go bigger.
But that's just my opinion. I will never go small then the Z3C tho.
For me the size is only important when it comes to my eyes. Looking at such a 'small' device is a bit harder for my eyes to get used to.

Xperia V vs. Ion impressions

Hi all,
I have the red Ion (lt26h) and now a nice black V. Here are some quick impressions:
1. Battery life: the Ion seems to happily last a few hours longer than the V. I listen to music and Whatsapp a lot.
2. Screen: the screen on the Ion seems to have better contrast, deeper blacks and the V looks slightly yellowish
3. Audio: the music output via speakers sounds better on the Ion. Via headphones, the V has more distortion
4. Camera: the rear camera on the V is sharp, fast and virtually zero lag. The front camera blows monkeychunks and feels like a bad joke - poor quality, not sharp, etc.
I'll add more as I discover them... anything in particular you guys want to know?
The Ion is definitely a "premium" phone. But the V will be with me often, especially when out in the field where I know I'll get drenched in rain.

Follow-up on battery life: in Singapore this is marketed as the "Bond Phone". It's no wonder he was uncontactable for so long!

Hehe yes a little
But seriously I´ve just got my V and it feels so and so, coming from a Note II it feels a little small and slow... I know it's a personal preference but should I stick with it or change to an Ion? ( just looking for user inputs )

Ive switched from note/note2 to V and T aswell. Loving the switch so far, running cm on the T and stock on V. For some reason the V feels a bit better in my hand than the T. The volume rocker and power button is better placed aswell on the V. Waiting to see new sony phablet aswell but so far very happy with my V minus the batterylife since im used to note2.

[Q] New Nexus 4 or used Xperia Z?

Simple question: new Nexus 4 or used Xperia Z (condition: noticeably used, but without big scratches, ~7/10)? What would you choose?
If you could, please write pros/cons. I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks.
If camera doesn't matter too much and you lkve flashing roms, and are happy with the dc-hspa speeds then get the nexus. If you decide to go for the XZ make sure it has an unlockable bootloader.

xperia is water resistant and has a bigger screen, nexus 4 has quickest updates.both are really good phones IMO, I was deciding between these two and went for xperia obviously.

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5421&idPhone2=5204 - Here is your answer. :highfive:
For me ZR is better + compact.
I would say the ZR is better. The specs are nearly identical but the ZR has better battery life and is more compact which is what's important to me. The only thing that would make the Z better than the ZR for some people is the screen size, but i just don't want a phone with a 5inch screen.
For me, ZR is:
*Perfect in Size
*removable battery
*the camera result better than Z (in my opinion)
*better contrast (in my opinion too)
What i dont like in Z :
*5inch is too big for me
*too much issue (i've seen so much report from Z user in forum like Screen Cracking it self, Overheating, etc)
*Non-Removable Battery+Drain so fast

[Q] Do you recommend?

Hello people. My old friend Nexus 4 is officialy dead right now (after 2 years i think) and now i want to buy z3 compact tomorrow. I read lots of good things about this phone but i also read some bad user reviews about the body and screen quality of this phone. So my question is do you still recommend this phone at the moment? Thanks!
Yes. Still one of the best phones ever and probably the best Sony phone. It has everything in one single package

Doesn't that go for any smartphone out there?
It depends...
I have had the Nexus 4 as well and I think that the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is a fantastic phone.
You should choose it if it is important for you to have a small(ish) phone that is waterproof. Otherwise when you come from the Nexus 4 - why not Nexus 5...? (Or 6 if the size doesn't scare you...)
Thank you very much for your answers guys. I got the phone right now and i am really loving it at the moment

Bkb50

Does anybody know if Bkb50 is pairble with z2 tab
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
The keyboard itself will work of course, since it's just a BT keyboard. But the dimensions of the Z2 and Z4 are different, so it probably won't fit properly. Especially the thickness is the main concern: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6161&idPhone2=7238
Have you looked at the Z2 equivalent case? http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/tablet-cover-stand-bkc52
Didn't know that it was back on marked again! Definitely going to look at this again
Thanks

The Z2 equivalent doesnb't have the touchpad sadly.
I'm trying to find a decent one that will fit with a touchpad. There are a few good generic keyboard stands, but not many with a touchpad.
I wonder though if the BKP50 would fit though. Anyone tried it?
