I recently updated to 4.4 through Sony not rooted.
My Bluetooth does not work at all.
It cant find other devices and nobody can find my phone???????????
Help anybody
Try Factory Reset and if this not help Repair via PCC. This are the first 2 things what have to be done after facing some issues.
I hope you did allow your phone being find-able...?
Hi there,
I installed the latest SONY firmware 14.4.A.0.108 on my Z1 and I tried to enable device encryption. But the device only reboots, no encryption. I tried several times, no success.
I searched the web and found a ton of tips, but none of them worked (e.g. unplug from power, kill all tasks and apps, boot to safe mode etc.).
I even did a factory reset and this did not help either. This can only mean, this is not caused by 3rd party apps, which are not there after factory reset.
Anyone here who has some hint about that issue?
Oh, the Z1 is not rooted, just plain Sony firmware 14.4.A.0.108
Thanks!
My note 5 is the duos version, imported in Romania from Taiwan (SM_9208) After updating to Marshmallow yesterday, everything worked fine except for on thing: it doesn't find my Wi-Fi network from home anymore and the only way I can connect to it is by going to,, add network " and manually inserting the ssid and PASSWORD because it doesn't appear on the available networks list. Thst means that every time I turn my wireless off and then on, I have to repeat that process.
I haven't had the chance to try any other WiFi network, but I tried with other phones to connect to the network and they found it and connected to it without any problem. Furthermore, any third party app like WiFi analyser is able to see the network.
Do you guys have any idea how I could possibly solve this?
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Try to backup your phone and then do a factory reset.
I factory reset after update OTA and everything work perfect.
uhm... does n9208 has update for MM already? if you have links kindly share tnx in advance
I tried doing the factory reset and it still has that problem.
And I did receive the update yesterday through OTA.
Other suggestions? Thank you, guys!

First, try clearing the cache again. If it still does not work, the update may have downloaded improperly so some file are corrupted. It will continue to use the same corrupted files even if you reset. Have your tried flashing the stock Taiwan Rom using Odin?
//LATER EDIT: I finally made it work by simply changing the wireless network's name. For some reason, my phone wouldn't find the network with its default name.
Hi,
I have KLD6 unit. tryed some Malaysk 4.4.4 ROM and after 2 weeks of use the touch screen has started to not respond sometimes. Upgraded to Malaysk 5.1 and still the same.
Downgraded back to OEM 4.4. Was working fine for a week but now it still happening.
Sometimes restarting the unit works, sometimes not.
Sometimes I can use the unit for a while and than after some minutes of use it's not working anymore.
Physaical buttons are working fine all the time even when the touch screen isn't.
Anyone have an idea? Maybe a software issue? Incompatible app?
Thank you all

Happened to me. Reinstalled MCU firmware and that cured the problem... Don't ask why ROM is messing MCU but it looks like it happens... So just try flashing you original or latest MCU for your device type. Of course first carefully read info on how to do that and be sure to use right MCU for your exact HU type. And write down Factory Settings as they may be messed after MCU reflash. And final note: I would also recommend Factory Reset or Clean all data/cache after MCU flash.

Hi,
Thanky you for the idea.
tried any public MCU for my HU.
2.83
2.85
2.91
Also tried couple of factory reset and wipes.
Noticed that the kernel has remaind the rooted one. Maybe that what causes the problem?
Hi there!
I recently upgraded to the latest firmware. Since then, I cannot turn on WiFi or Bluetooth. Tried software repair through the Sony Companion program for Windows, tried factory reset. Nothing helped. How could I solve this?
Thanks!
