Has anyone else noticed the watchface usually goes a few pixels offset in always on / standby mode? Its a bit difficult to see in most watch faces, but you can see it shift back to center when you wake it up. Its really noticable when you design a watch face that is the exact size of the screen or have something at the very edge because when it shifts, you get a white boarder or small items at the edge go off the screen. I just want to verify I'm not the only one here. I cant imagine its a hardware issue, but want to make sure before I'm no longer able to exchange it.
Thought I read somewhere it is intentional to stop screen burn in on OLED. All the watch faces apparently do it...

Awesome, thank you for the response. That does make sense and now I'm happy it does it lol. I'll just make sure to design my watch faces with a background larger than the template so when it shifts, there's no white boarder.
I'm just about to buy one. Being doing a lot of reading up. Finally decided between this and the Moto 360!

To each their own, but I'm so happy I bought this over the 360. Just personal preference I guess, but I love it so far and don't think i would like the 360 after getting used to the "always on" feature.
That's the bit I like and why I decided on the LG. Just need to get it signed off by the wife and is all good...
I think the LGGR makes a better choice for a man while the 360 is better for a woman. But let's not forget the ASUS Zenwatch. That's a good looking bit of kit for $200. Once again, IMHO a better choice for the ladies as the lines are somewhat feminine.
The think I like about the LGGR's styling as a man is that it reminds me of a watch an Indycar driver would wear.
The question is what adjustments can we make to watch faces in Facer so they don't look so bad?
Unfortunately, there's probably not much we can do about existing faces. I personally started making mine with a square background image (still round face). That way when it shifts, there no white line bleeding through. Search my username Jaydawgx7 on facerepo and check them out. I'm just getting started with the faces so I'm learning as I go, but I think they've turned out well so far. Hopefully more people start making their backgrounds larger than the circle mask in most templates as this watch gains popularity.

You're right some show white space like this one - http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/colourful-149b2fe3fdd. but the Mickey Mouse doesn't. - http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/mickey-dark-circle-full-1499f5d7a90
But I just realized the first example has a white border around it so maybe removing that in Photoshop will alleviate it.
It's just that some watch faces don't look as bad when they shift and others look horrible so there must be some work around even though it's probably a pain to do.

And I just figured it out. I extracted the images of each face. Both circular images were placed over a square, but the Mickey was a black square and the Rainbow wheel was a white square. Changing the Rainbow one to and all black background fixed it. It still shifts in dim mode, but it's not as noticeable. So it appears that watch faces need to be on a black background in order to compensate for the shift and not look terrible. It's a pain to do, but if you really like a face that has this issue, it's too hard to do.

has anyone here seen the google uk logo? the one that is composed of multicolored balls that can be disturbed or agitated by the mouse.
google.co.uk
it could be a nice live wallpaper.
-multicolored balls filling up a black screen or a color customizable background
-balls wiggles in place
-can be agitated by touch
-optional:
colors of balls that will appear can be customized
interval for color changing can be adjusted
Saw that earlier awesome isn't it
it would make good a live wallpaper...
and to clear things up it's not only on google UK.
+1 to this. Imagine even if it was simply the word "Google" as we're using Android phones I think that would be quite fitting.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
hoping someone could do this.
The Google logo is back to normal now, I think I could take a stab at this as I am learning Java and my demo paper (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=133197) is relatively similar. Anyone know where to see the Google logo again, I never saw it the other day when it was out, just heard about it.
Just did some thinking and did a proof of concept for myself, made a single dot that reacts to touch... should be easy to make lots of dots do the same and do other things.
here's one from youtube.

Hi.
I'm modeling 3d Android for one website, so I'll like to share with you my current progress; this is not finished model: I have to change hands (I don't like them as they are now), make legs, and add some more details. I have just posed what I have till now in to some quick pose and make quick render, to better see how it looks, and what to change.
I the end, this will be animated character and it will be used for banners, logo, icons, animated intro for videos, and some wallpapers and maybe even for theme for mobile phones.

I'm modeling this in 3d studio max.
And here is one more small update; I have remodeled hands, so that now I have more wide range of movement with them.
Awesome work, the first face looks better in my opinion, but the second is more original.
I also prefer the darker face. There is more contrast and makes the eyes stand out more. Also looks happier. Good details there. It is very difficult to make "green skin" look good at best of times!
Tnx guys for comments.
Face is still something I haven't decide yet what to do about it; I'll have to make some tests with expressions to see what will work best.
Now, I have to make legs; i'm thinking about making them somewhat similar to hands, but I'll put wheels on them (they will be mostly hidden; there will be a gap like for hands, where wheel will come out), so that he will basically role around; i thing that he will look cooler that way.

Here is one more update; I still have some things to do, but is getting some final form.
Looks pretty sick, but I must say, when the legs are on their own, well.....
I would like to know how can i check the screen of my new phone for dead pixel, patches etc.
I have already tried *#0*# method, but i want to check with light colors.
Some apps are there in market, but i dont think they support HD resolution.
Next, i can see horizontal lines across screen whenever i use the live wallpaper "Windy weather", its the one with windmills. The lines are especially visible during daytime in the wallpaper... so is it just a problem due to lower resolution of the wallpaper?
I havent seen any other color problem yet, except the above.
Look long and hard enough and you will find something that bothers you.
I'd say just enjoy the device.

I agree with you and i am happy wid my purchase, i just wonder is this because of low-res pic or its a minor banding.
Update: I am also finding horizontal lines in the Sky when playing original angry birds...
I know there are a few Gearfaces.com designer here so I have a request if someone is up to the challenge. I'm a huge RUSH fan and I'd love it if someone could do this.
Could someone put together this as a Watch Styler face?
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120411195423/rush/images/2/26/Clockwork_Angels.jpg
I'd like it exactly as the image with those hands and the pearl in the center. I am terrible at this stuff but I could possibly Photoshop out the hands and supply just the background.
Edit: Oh would be nice if an unobtrusive battery meter were included, like down at the bottom as a thin black bar across the bottom or something.
OK, It's not perfect but I managed to clone-tool away the hands, and using some creative cropping got the center dot almost in the middle.

Here's a quick go at it.

Nice watch face, needs time to be bigger
I just installed the watch face and i like it so much and loving the customizations!
Great Job
My only comment for now is that the actual time text is a bit small, it is readable and everything but it is taking a very small portion of the screen which makes it harder to read the time by quickly glancing into the watch, i have to look closely for a second or so to get the time.
What do you think?

AWESOME!
Looking forward to it
Heartbeat does not seem to work on LG G Watch R (Android Wear 5.1.1).
(Yes got the update that was supposed to fix heartbeat permissions).
