Hi,
I am getting very excited about the release of the upcoming lollipop GPE.
Currently I am running Sense 4.4.4. I read that in order the get the new GPE you will have to convert your phone to a GPE version.
When would be the best way to do this? Before or after the update has stroke lightning?
I am S-off and have supercid by the way.

Hi
I think you're talking about update not about CM
The Google Edition update will be next week, it's confirmed by HTC on Twitter, so you don't have to wait so long
Android L for Sense you will get 90 days after releasing official code of Lollipop.
I advice you to flash now RUU with GPE 4.4 and update it to 4.4.4 coz I don't know if there will be RUU with Lollipop released
Regards
If you want to get 5.0 ASAP, then I would flash 4.4 GPE now and then do the OTA when it comes out.
You would or have to ?
Thanks for the advices. Guess I'll be flashing gpe today. I do hope that battery life is OK. Now I use an undervolt on elemental x, xposed to block Google services wake locks and greenify Facebook. And that has been giving great results
Battery life is ok without root and with stock kernel better then stock with sense

Can't decide whether or not I should put in the work to convert my device to full GPE or just flash GPE roms and the updates when they are available. How many/often do you think there will be updates for GPE 5.0? 1 a month? 3 and then none? Any other advantages other than OTAs?
Thanks

Hello all,
I'm soon going to get a third M7. The device I'm getting has been updated to latest official version with Sense 6 (Android 4.4.3?), so I guess firmware was also updated.
Since I hate Sense 6 (flame away ) I'd like to ask if it's ok to flash an older rom with Sense 5.5 (Android 4.4.2) without downgrading the firmware?
As far as I can remember I had no issues running a Sense 6 rom with older firmware on my previous device, but what about the other way around?
Thank you in advance!

You should be fine, as long as you're S-OFF.
Might want to doublecheck with some more experienced folks here.
So i got kind of a dilemma. I just recent read a bunch of articles that the M7 now has its respective lollipop build. I am currently on CM 11 m12 and im really looking forward for a completely stock gpe device with lollipop and without all of the buggs of a custom rom. Can you guys help and tell me what i need to do to get the gpe lollipop software please??
I simply flashed the Rom. Its from santod GPE 5.0.1. its running flawless.
Hello, I hope this is the right section... my girlfriend has an old HTC one m7 which used to be mine and I gave it to her converted to google play edition with Lollipop 5.1, the phone is not rooted.
I did this years ago so I don't remember the specific HTC one procedures (I was coming from a samsung back then) but I converted an unlocked tmobile htc one lte to google play edition.
I'm now looking to update this phone to Nougat, especifically crdroid nougat which is aosp/lineage os-based.
I would also like to know how to return to sense if possible.
What would the steps necessary for this be? Do I have to convert the google play edition back to a normal htc one in order to install aosp roms or sense roms?
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone help?

if your phone is running the latest gpe firmware, simply flash twrp and your aosp rom. You don't want to flash the sense firmware back since the nougat roms work better with the gpe firmware.
