Pretty cool!

I've never been a big fan of live wallpaper.. Thanks for making me want to use it..
Looks great!

Just downloaded it and looks great! I'm loving it! Just one suggestion though, could you make it react better with the accelerometer? For example if you tilt the phone left the logo tilts right to a certain limit without turning all the way and vice versa, not sure if my explanation is clear enough but I think it would look awesome if that were to happen. Also the slow speed could be slower but that's just my opinion. Great work! Using it as my current wallpaper now

Looks great but I've got a FC when opening with Lollipop

keeps FC on mine ...im running paranoid android tho so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Ive installed and rebooted twice and it didnt work.

Please send fc report, I don't have 5.0 for tests. Thnks

Very nice work. Installed immediately.

Nice, i really like it. The only thing i would say if i was nitpicking is that the edges go a bit jagged when the logo is on an angle, but this can be fixed by selecting 'Force 4x MSAA' under the developer options in Android. Also on the red background, some faint lines can be seen down the bottom of the screen. But overall it's brilliant so well done, keeping this as my wallpaper for the moment!

It's nice, by the way can u add anti-aliasing to the wallpaper so that it will be more cool.

Wallpaper is nice, but i prefer normal ones just to have more Battery

Great background looks so cool but kills battery

Looks very nice
Thanks

just uploading now should be here in about 10 minutes... please keep an eye out
Thanks for the support
I like the dark notification / toggle screen but for me personally the icons in app draw and on front screen are too small. With the original CleanSense theme I didn't need to read what the apps were as the icons were instantly recognizable. I also love the transparent dial pad.
Oh man if this just had the same icons as previous it would be better and I gave that 10/10
Think I'll have to stick with the original, for now
Appreciate the effort, still loving CleanSense.

Ok thanks, sorted the dial pad but I don't see option for notification/toggle screen. Only notification as in ringtone.
Edit:
Nevermind, realised it comes under status bar. Unfortunately I prefer the original status bar icons so will have to keep original notification / toggle panel
Edit2:
I think it would be better if in dial pad, as you dial number digits appear in black, it doesnt look right being white and doesnt stand out.

Android Music Player theme concept

It bothers me that it's rare, if anything almost impossible to find a music player in the playstore with the holo theme being used, so i took the idea from Google's YouTube app and thought it would look nice if they'd make a music app with the same idea in mind, so i started doing a little work on the idea and since i know nothing about coding this is all i can provide...if it has been thought of before then i apologize, if not, then would be cool if a developer would take my idea and use it.
i wanna do a complete design of the entire internals but wanted opinions of you guys before i even go that far.
Purely personal taste, but the only thing I don't like is the blank CD icon above the album art. Other than that I like it. Keep up the good work!

Are you using Roboto as your font?
I also think that the search icon should be flat, and possibly implement that flat design choice into the album art/playing screen.
I also think there should be a couple more separation of elements using multiple color choices. Possibly use the holo colors.
It looks great though!
- Keep it simple
- Use one font size
- Don't make UI elements too small or too big
- Don't stretch images
- Don't use black on a dark grey background
A lot of "don't" here, and I'm sorry for that.
Personally, I would like a player that uses the Google Now design language. An evolved Holo design in a sense.

The flat look seems to be what's in. I think what's sorely needed is a dead simple, gorgeous music widget. With all the theming that's starting to pop up, i feel like that's the one gaping hole in my opinion. Whoever does that gets my money. I'm really keen on spotify's widget, I'd like to see an updated 4x2 version of that from them.

Looks amazing, I'd love a music asp that works AND looks good. My only advice would be to stick closer to holo. It looks a bit like metro ui from the mock ups.

:good:

Am I the only one that doesn't think the 4.2 text rendering is better.

I personally preferred the old 4.1 rendering that had more hinting. The new ones look too bold and fuzzy. I'd personally like to see a smoothing option like regular linux has with strength settings. Its not too bad on black text but on the grey review text in the play store for example it looks terrible.
agreed, not sure if it's my eyes that might have crapped out but I also personally feel text hasn't been as.. sharp.
I don't notice a difference, but then again I haven't used 4.1 in a while. If I look closely I may be able to see some blurring, but it might be just my imagination.
Sent from my Nexus 7
I don't notice the different text now. But I definitely did when I first updated, it just took some time to get used to.
AW: Am I the only one that doesn't think the 4.2 text rendering is better.
That's another of quite a few reasons why I remain on 4.1.
I don't need multiuser or lockscreen widgets; and except of these new features 4.2 is just more problematic, nothing else.

Day one with HTC one

Hi all,
I'm coming from and SGSII and I'm in the process of trying to setup my One how I like it. There's a few things troubling me though.
-The blacks of the screen don't seem especially black and it seems there's no way to adjust the contrast. The whole screen seems a bit flat/grey
-The menus are black text on white, I much prefer the white on black of the SII
-The scroll 'brakes' too quickly as your finger comes off the screen, it's like sliding something on sandpaper as opposed to ice. There's no 'mega scroll' flick
-I've had to download a task manager killer but I cannot end google+, gmail and googlemaps. I don't want them.
-The icons on my SII are a lot better
-I'd like the notification bar to be black
-On the SII I have gps switched off but weather apps still work, with the HTC gps has to be on.
-I'm going to have to root this phone to get adfree aren't?
I'm using nova launcher so a lot of things are similar but those things above are really bugging me. I've googled all of them and had no luck so let me know if I'm missing anything.
Thanks.
I didn't read your whole post but to get white text on black you are going to have to go with an inverted Rom, like d3rp or 42One I am sure there are others but those two come to mind.

Thanks, I might hold off on rooting for a while.
The main thing I wanted to check was that I wasn't missing an obvious settings and that the screen was working properly, it's VERY flat and grey compared to my SII.
Overall it's doing a good job but the screen is going to have to take some getting used to.

This is the difference between AMOLED and LCD. The contrast on the One is pretty much the best available on a phone LCD, but it is still an LCD, and cannot match the black levels of AMOLED.
-The menus are black text on white, I much prefer the white on black of the SII
The menus on the SII are white on black because white is a very expensive color to display, battery-wise, on an AMOLED screen. Inverted roms, or themes, will fix this for you.
-The scroll 'brakes' too quickly as your finger comes off the screen, it's like sliding something on sandpaper as opposed to ice. There's no 'mega scroll' flick
Depends on the app you're using. If you're speaking about within Sense (settings, app drawer, etc) then yeah I guess, but I'm not sure why you would need the long scrolling in such short lists.
-I've had to download a task manager killer but I cannot end google+, gmail and googlemaps. I don't want them.
Uninstall/disable them via settings>apps or kill them with an app.

You had to root your S2 to get that too.

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated. Much as I feared the about the screen. It's a shame, I do really like OLED. Those are the two big things now, the screen and lack of centre button. It's stupid because most apps now have a black bar at the bottom which takes up about 10% of the screen for the 'options' button. A button would be much better. If it had those two things it would be the perfect phone in my eyes.
Makes sense about the menus, I checked out the 42One rom and it looks pretty good. I spent yesterday getting everything set up so I'm going to wait to root and flash.
The scroll/flick behaviour is a bit different but some lists do have a 'mega-scroll' so that was me I guess, I'd still prefer it if it was a bit looser.
I found the only option was to disable certain apps, I guess I won't be able to get into removing stuff until I root the phone.
Maybe I should have said i don't like the stock icons, I still prefer the SII one but have since downloaded some icon packs so we're all good there.
On my journeys I saw someone had written a little program to guide you through rooting your phone so I'll have to find that again. I'd also like to backup my stock setup in case of warranty issues further down the line.
Thanks again.

You can use the HTC Logo as menu button. But you'd need a custom kernel that supports that.
AMOLED displays are usually very over saturated compared to IPS LCD displays. But IPS will give you a more accurate color and truer whites and blacks.

The HTC logo doesn't have a capacitive sensor, the "logo button" feature actually uses the first row of pixels immediately above the logo as a button.
Not trying to attack anyone here, just want to make sure that the information is explained a bit more.

Yep, it's the tradeoff you made when you picked LCD.
If its any consolation, displaying white on your S2 actually caused the display consumption to go up drastically (sometimes double the power required) while on LCD the screen uses a much more consistent amount of power. The whites on your One -should- appear as truer whites, while yes, the black will be more washed out.

Useful to know, thanks!
Thanks for the input, being brand new to HTC I'm still learning what's available.
Ideally I like Nova so I'd like to keep that. I'd like the general menus to be white text on black BG, I can clean things out with Titanium and stop ads with adfree.
From what I can tell I'm going to need to root the phone and then install a rom.
Are there 'pre-optimized' roms? Are there any Roms which are basically stock except for the colour flip? Can I get 4.3 in there as well? That middle button would be great too. My SII came with swype, I miss that.
I've found instructions on rooting but a little unsure which rom to go for, konfuzion's suggestion of 42One looks ok but I don't know what's out there, supported and up to date.
If you have any more thoughts they're always welcome
I'm gonna need some help on this guys.
I'm in the UK on the EE network, can I download any rom or do I need a specific 'EE' one?
Do I need a rom if I just want superuser privileges and a reversed/inverted menu? (also be able to install titanium backup and adfree)
I think I can handle the rest of it.
Thanks.
Well you most likely have a gsm one so you wouldn't want to flash anything in the sprint one section. And seeing as your gsm i believe there are a few roms over there that are 4.3

Hi!
See here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/launcher3-pixel-launcher-features-t3620972
Awesome!!!!
Two little things are different, at least from what I figured out - the rest feels exactly like the original:
- the search bar and weather widget at the top disappear from the 2nd screen (when swiping right); they don't in the original
- the navbar icons are solid in the original
Great work, thanks a lot!!
1.5 just released
