Hi, I am trying to get back to complete stock. With locked recovery and bootloader.
Im on HBOOT-1.55.0000
how would i go about factory resetting.
Could i just press factory reset in the bootloader menu?
No. I'm assuming you're boot loader unlocked but not S-Off.
There is a thread about this in Android development. But I'll give you a general outline.
You will do the following in fastboot:
First, you need to lock your boot loader. Then, go into ruu mode. Flash the firmware.zip. Reboot.
You should be good to go. However, it will say "relocked" not "locked" on your boot loader.

Hi,
I'm posting here because I'm not allowed to post in the development forum since I'm a new member.
Yesterday I tried to S-OFF my One with the Revolutionary method. I have an German O2 branded device with CID O2__102. I used the first version of the tool. After a few attempts, it worked. I got S-OFF und unlocked in the fastboot menu. Then I changed the CID to HTC__102 and installed the according RUU. After that I installed the latest CWM and flashed the 4.2.2 stock ROM. All worked without problems.
I decided to revert to Stock 4.1.2 and wait for the official OTA. So I flashed the stock recovery and typed "fastboot oem lock" and "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" in the fastboot menu to relock the device, according to the Revolutionary development thread. Now it says "relocked" and "S-ON" again. There was an error in the development thread, which has been corrected now. Should have used "./revone -l" instead of "fastboot oem lock".
Now, I have two problems:
a) The 1.29 OTA won't install, seems my recovery is broken. I can't hard reset the device either. But resetting by RUU works.
b) I can't get "S-OFF" and "unlocked" again. I tried many times and I'm still trying.
The One boots normally and the fastboot menu is accessible. If I try to enter the recovery menu from the boatloader menu, the device restarts.
Any helpful ideas?

As a newby you can't post a new thread. But it's not forbidden to ask the question in the dvpt thread if you've used their tool?
It's not a very easy question and it seems you already know what you're doing.
Just when I read you last sentence, make sure you deactivate the option in settings->energy 'fastboot'. It seems to create problems to enter recovery. On mine I have to flash the recovery many time (erase cache before and after flash), to be able to finally enter recovery. It works with CWM (not touch version).
I tried again to post there, the system will block it until I have 10 posts.
Yes, I'm quite familiar with that. I never did a lot of rooting, S-OFF etc., but I debranded each device I had from HTC (Touch Diamond 2, Desire Z, Sensation), so I know the concepts.
I'm not sure, if it is possible to flash the Stock recovery with S-ON and the (re)locked bootloader. At the moment I'm still trying to get S-OFF and unlocked again by using the Revolutionary tool. But no sucess so far. But I will try your idea with the fastboot setting.
Hi all,
I bought Roger HTC One form kijiji, it was rooted with stock Android 4.3 installed (not HTC version). I tried to restore it back using following guide.
Boot loader headers
***Tempered***
***Unlocked***
sakitechonline.com/restore-your-htc-one-to-sense-5-stock-or-factory-rom/
after doing step 5. I figured out there is no Rogers RUU file out there.
now my phone is only reboot in fastboot mode I cant go to even recovery mode since boot loader is re-locked.
current boot loader headers
***Tempered***
***Relocked***
Please help...
do I need to unlock boot loader again or is there any other way around.
Any one has Rogers stock RUU file ?
Thanks in advance.....

You'll need three things :
ADB
Fastboot
A custom ROM of your personal liking, I recommend Android Revolution HD but it's up to you
For now we simply need you to connect your phone in fastboot mode and use the following command :
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Once you have the results post them here.
You need to unlock bootloader again, after that you can get stock using these methods (which require S-OFF). How you unlock your bootloader and wether you can or can't get S-OFF depends on that information we need you to post.
This is not an emergency...I am in no hurry, but I would appreciate some helpful advice.
I have a Sprint HTC One...I have S-Off which I gained by using revone. (I unnecessarily locked the bootloader after gaining S-Off.) In the months since I did this, I replaced twrp with the stock recovery to take at least two updates. (Stupid, I know!)
I am now unrooted and cannot boot into recovery.
What is the best way to regain root without htcdev?
I have tried this guide...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475902...but I cannot get su permission in adb shell.
Bootloader screen:
***LOCKED***
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-SPCS_001
HBOOT-1.55.0000
RADIO-1.00.1108
OS-3.05.651.6
Thank you for your help!
You must unlock your boot loader, then flash the recovery you want. To unlock, since you are s-off, you can do that without the htcdev approach. Just read through the q&a faq thread. The instructions are all in there.
BTW since you are S-OFF there is no need to re-lock your bootloader to take the OTA/update your firmware
Unlock Bootloader
http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
Install Custom Recovery (I use the - Fastboot Method)
http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/171
Download SU files (UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip)
http://download.chainfire.eu/351
Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip to the phone using USB cable, then boot into custom recovery (reboot phone while holding the down volume button). Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip
Help still needed...information updated in first post.
couldn't he fastboot flash recovery and flash stock rooted like this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612576 I presume you can access bootloader? its been a bit since I have seen stock, im curious?
edit.. don't remember now what the bootloader screen is like before unlocked? duh?
I thought this might work also, but flashing the recovery through fastboot always reboots to the red arrow.
I think I am going to have to go ahead and do the htcdev method...doesn't seem to be any reason not to now.
Thanks for all your help!

Hmm, so the actually flash of the recovery is successful, it just doesn't stick on your phone?
Hi,
My goal was to revert my HTC One to stock, no tampered, no locked, etc. After hours of trying to find a solution to S-Off, I was finally successful with gaining S-Off, Removing the Tampered Flag, Re-locking, and returning to S-On.
I'm not entirely sure what happened next. I think I most have chosen "reboot" so that I could get back in and apply a new RUU.
Instead, my phone returned to bootloader, with a surprise reappearance of the "Tampered" flag, and a new one now, "Security Warning".
Attempts to reboot simply return me to bootloader. Attempts to access Recovery return me to bootloader. Attempts to power down work. And when I power on again it returns me to bootloader.
What. The. Hell. Happened.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Additional Details: Here are the steps I took to achieve each change:
S-Off - Rumrunner - Successful
Remove Tampered - Via this thread:
Code:
adb devices
adb shell
su
echo -ne '\x00' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 bs=1 seek=4265988
exit
adb reboot bootloader
Reset Lock Status -
Code:
./revone -l
(the directions I had stated "-L" but capital wasn't recognized, and lowercase worked.
Reset S-On -
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Looks like something screwed up. Once you are S-OFF, you do not need to lock the bootloader or S-ON to run RUU. It is (was) your get out of jail card.
Can you select factory reset from the bootloader menu? What is the result? If no go, then unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery, restore backup and/or flash custom rom, and restart the process.
Also what RUU were you trying to run, and why? Warranty related?

Thanks for the reply. I was going to do T-mobile's trade-in program (every 6 months), but need the phone back to stock or they won't accept.
When I chose factory reset, it returned me to the bootloader.
My guess is it is freaking out because I relocked everything but still have a custom ROM.
Thanks for the advice, now time to hunt through the threads to figure out how to do all those things again. It has been a while, I've been unlocked for ages.
Your best bet will be to flash a ruu from tmobile based on 1.44hboot. As the new 1.55 hboot may not like being s-on.
So, in very short.
1. unlock bootloader,
2. flash custom recovery,
3. restore backup and/or flash custom rom (adb push/sideload/otg cable)
4. S-OFF
5. Run http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-20-10-40-1150-04-release-324846-signed-zip/
6. Figure out how to lock bootloader.. using nkk71's guide

What steps did you take that led you to this point? Are you stock recovery at minute or are you custom recovery? Is your phone detected by fastboot (type fastboot devices)
Also I assume to tried HTC.com/dev to unlock using a different unlock token?

just for future reference, he needs to flash the stock firmware, same one he already has, my suspicions say he has re-locked his bootloader with a custom recovery on there, thats why he cant unlock his bootloader, it requires stock recovery, the only way to get stock recovery on an s-on and re-locked device is to flash stock firmware. :good:
