note edge rom on the note 4 - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I always wanted the edge over the note so i stiill hot the note and tge note 4 is the only one compatable with the vr.i work for samsung store and my question do you think is possible to flash a note edge on a note 4

The "Edge" is a physical 160 pixel wide extra screen. You can not add something like that in software.

Thanks i fivure that but seen it 5.7 to 5.6 i wonder to still ask i work at samsung and yo the edge is nice

Is it worth to change Note Edge for Note 5?

My Note edge broke down and got money from insurance.
Now, I'm wondering whether to buy note edge again or to buy note 5.
Any owner note 5 used note edge before ?
Is it worth to change Note Edge for Note 5?
To me Note 5 is a regression in terms of features that power users value. It has got a much better screen (have done a side by side comparison), more powerful CPU and an extra gig of ram and touch type finger print sensor but in turn it looses wired MHL TV out, MicroSD card, removable battery among others. I do not know how much you value these features but if I could go back in time I would leave Note 5 altogether and buy something else.

I upgraded from the Note Edge to the Note 5 and do not regret the decision. I did go with the 64 gb model to ensure I have enough space. Battery life has been MUCH better on the Note 5 and I am in love with the upgraded camera. I was sold with how quickly I can access the camera. I also like the size and feel of the Note 5 much better. The Note Edge was always a bit awkward for me with the curved edge on the one side. I never really got much added benefit from the edge screen, so I have not missed it. I never used the IR port and never changed batteries on the Note Edge. At the end of the day, it became a no-brainer for me and I am so happy with the Note 5. I think it really comes down to how important are the SD slot, removeable battery, IR port, and edge screen. I am even more happy with the Note 5 than I expected to be. Not sure if that helps.

Heck yeah.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A
I don't really think it is, truthfully. If you have the money to buy a new device why not go for the newer device, sure but to actually upgrade from a normal working edge it doesn't offer enough. It's the same screen as the Note 4/edge, albeit a little brighter, both are 515 ppi i believe. The camera is the same the only difference is the aperature size lets in a little more light for better exposure, however this is not always noticeable as you can see for yourself in reviews by credible reviewers such as android authority and many others on youtube. If you prefer expandable memory, removable battery and the curved screen aspect definitely stay with the note edge, if you MUST have the faster cpu and extra ram for VERY HEAVY multitasking and absolutely MUST HAVE the newest handset then get the Note 5.

S8

Just reading some online rumors about the development of the New Galaxy S8 and the newest rumor out today says it will have a variant (called the Galaxy s8 plus) with a 6 inch screen and it is going to replace the Note line of phablets. Is this true or do you think the Note line can survive the problems of the N7. I love my N5 and want to stay in the Note series when I do need to upgrade
I really don't care. If the s8 plus has an spen and all the features of the note line then I'll get the s8 plus

Note 7 Fe or Note 8 or Note Edge? Worth upgrade?

Right now my Note 5 is running samsung s8 rom on its software.
Its fun with edge features and S Pen I Can put up all my daily tasks really well and fast with So Much customization In hand.
I live in a country where mostly Note 7 FE Will launch and its going to be 50% cheaper than the Note 7 originally was.
Do you think it would be worth buying Note 7 FE For Water Resistance,SD Slot? or just Wait for the Bigger Note 8 with Better Software update?
I don't know what will the Note 8 Bring to the Game.
I am already Fine with 5.7 Inch screen. Would 6.4 be good thing for an upgrade?
Both, one after the other!

I like the note 8 but the 6.4 Inch is scary.
I do love Big Phones but not that big lol.
Main advantage of Note FE It will be cheaper for me and will offer same camera as the note 8 also i can an SD Card with 128 GB SD Card.. thought the software will be outdated.

1)You are fortunate enough that its going to launch in your country while i am still waiting for Samsung's official commitment for my country India for N7 FE launch
2)If you ask me in case i will just say go for N7 FE until N8 Will be officially announced ATM everything is just in rumour mill like 6.4' display with dual camera setup
3)In India N7 never launched due to disaster happened before official launch so if sammy will announce and release N7 FE in my country i will surely buy this masterpiece until availability of next beast N8

I am not sure but mostly it will be released where i live.
Obviously they wont release in europe or usa cause they would want the note 8 to be more poppular.
But i think the note 7 fe would be a good discount to the note 8. Wouldn't you think. It will be half the price of the note 8.
But it will have no ROM Development thought.
And it would not have S8 Ported features like the Note 5
Luckily here we both are in Asia that means we will be getting note 8 exynos variant means it will have support for custom roms ??

I would wait for the Note 8. The Note 7 FE probably won't be getting proper updates due to not being launched globally. Get the Note 8 instead which will be a much better device to buy simply for the fact the Note 7 is already a year old.
The tiny bezels and the aspect ratio will make up for the 6.4 inches. Don't know where you got that the Note 8 would have the same camera as the Note 7, even the S8 has a newer sony sensor so that wouldn't make any sense. The Note 8 is nearly out so why buy an outdated phone?

Well note 8 is to much big, i had the note 7 2 weeks and dont have better phone since, had s7edge was a great phone, now i have regular s8, because s8 plus its too big, no matter what we do we always use the phone with one hand, and this crap od 18.5 /9 is worse,
Doesn't mention the horrible Fingerprint sensor that i can't use to.
In s8 it's the perfect size for one hand, but the screen is small, even s7edge is bigger, you have more screen to see videos and movies.
Imagine note 7 that 5.7 beautiful screen, Fingerprint in the right place, and can use it with one hand.
And the edges are perfect, nothing like the s8.
If i can put the hand in note 7 again, its a phone that i will never sell it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 S-Pen on Other Samsung Note Devices

Hi all,
I hope I am posting in the correct section.
Yesterday I gave a try on a new Live Demo Unit of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 S-Pen. The new S-Pen has thinner point and gives better precision when writing.
Tried to use Note 8 S-Pen on my Note 5 device, it also works fine on my Note 5.
You can see the difference of the precision between the S-Pen of Note 8 (below) and my Note 5 (above) on my phone in the attached image. Note 8 pen is precise and thin, my Note 5 pen is thick and leaky.
At this point in time, the price of Note 8 in Europe is still out of my common sense of smartphone price. So I might wait for the price to be reduced even if it doesn't come with the Dex Dock. Meanwhile its new S-Pen which also works fine on my Note 5 makes me crave for it.
I have not got chance to try to change the tip of my S-Pen with Note 8 tip. So, my question is, do you know if I can somehow increase the precision of my Note 5 or earlier Samsung Notes S-Pen by only changing the tip, or I need to buy Note 8 S-Pen as well?
I think the new pen is just a better pen. I know the note 7's pen was noticeably better than the note 5's pen that I had as a loaner device briefly. In fact, the note 5's worse pen was one of the reasons that when I had to give up my note 7 I didn't stick with a note device. The note 5 was just a huge step backwards. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be a simple tip change, but you'd have to buy the whole pen, and then it wouldn't fit inside your phone anymore.

Galaxy note 5 buying in mid 2019 ?

well as the title says i'm really curious that is it worth buying the note 5 in mid 2019 since i was in the market to buy a phone i can find s7 and note 5 to be in the same price tag and both are in good condition and (used phones both of em) i got confused which i should buy s7 or note 5 and my bet was on the note 5 until i saw both prices and i would like to hear your guys opinion that which one should i buy. ( i wanted s-pen features coming from note 3 )
The Note 5 was a great phone. The only reason I traded it in was the amazing Note 8 promotion. I found it to be every bit as fast as the S7 and the larger flat screen is much better.
The only considerations I would make:
-The Note 5 stopped getting updates at 7.0 Nougat whereas the S7 got 8.0 Oreo.
-The Note 5 does not have Always on Display and would require a third party app for this feature where it's built into the S7
-The S7 has water resistance, the Note 5 does not.

what about xda support well i was gonna buy note 8 but since it's still have 1000$ tag in my country rip :x so i thought note 5 would be a good choice but s7 was available to and have you rooted your note 5 with any Samsung experience rom along with Gcam ? The S7 has water resistance, about this i think i should be cautious since im buying a refurbished phone

the note 5 is still a pretty solid phone and if you install a good rom you can get aod and other features too, but the development is pretty much dead, so I'd go for the s7 edge. It has a better low light camera and the xda support is comparatively better too. Also not to mention expandable storage. Have both currently and if you dont need the s pen that much the s7 edge is a better choice.
