[Q] [Help] M7 no OS, cant boot - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys need some help
My HTC M7 was playing up, restarting by itself, etc etc, so i decided to wipe the whole thing and start again, so i have no OS atm, also is s-off
Running TWRM atm as recovery.
Now heres the problem
Sideload hangs at 1%
Push hangs and displays nothing
RUU hangs, wont complete sending
flashing a different recovery hangs (cant anymore as i relocked bootloader as an attempt to use RUU)
cant do anything
Have tried all USB ports, 3 different sets of drivers and tools, and even a toolkit and i am stumped
the tools detect the phone in adb and fastboot, but cant do anything with it
Any adivce?

Make sure your using the proper cable. Alot of these cheap cables have been found to lower the data transfer speed to a point that it hangs. Only thing I can think of

Do you have HTC sync installed on your pc. its well known for causing these types of problems. If you do try uninstalling HTC sync but leave drivers installed.
Also check your sdk (adb/fastboot) is up to date.

Thats the issue with cables. Most generic cables are not great or useful for data transfering.

Btw you don't need to relock the bootloader to flash a ruu if your phone is s-off.

Bricked after factory reset

So I was really dumb and tried to factory reset my phone while I was on a custom rom and now am stuck in a boot loop. I have been googling around to try and figure out what to do but nothing seems to work. When I try and Hboot an RUU stock file it gets stuck at UserData. I also cannot get into recovery only Hboot.
I am relocked and S-On. Don't know what else to do. Is it beyond repair?
Ok when you run the ruu are you selecting fastboot in the hboot screen ? Does it say USB after fastboot when connected ?

When i hold down power and volume down it goes to the Hboot screen and it automatically looks for the PH39IMG.zip file so no I am not running fastboot but when I do select fastboot it only says fastboot no USB (i do not have it plugged into PC btw).
When you select fastboot , then plug it in the pc and it should go USB , if not you need to install the drivers
If you need the drivers you dl htc sync manager , or dl the toolkit in the dev forum and install them that way .
Fastboot USB is showing up but HTC Sync is saying there are no devices connected, not sure if thats a problem.
Ok did you do this when you ran the ruu ?

HTC sync looks for devices that are powered on...just try and run the ruu..listen to bigtjmc
AND DON'T UNPLUG ONCE IT'S GOING, THE PROCESS TAKES A WHILE...

Well I was actually extracting the RUU image from my PC's temp folder then placing it on my phone to allow Hboot to find it. I am now running the actual RUU software on my PC and it seems to be working. I will update when its finished. Thanks so much for your help.
Right on ,
Let us know what happens .
The ruu is stuck at 34%...I have it plugged in still not sure what to do from here
How long has it been stuck?
Don't unplug it...just let it sit...

sorry guys I was in class and couldnt respond. so right now i went through the RUU recovery steps and it allowed me to re-do the RUU setup. I just redid it thinking my PC may have messed up but I am stuck at 34% again. Any suggestions for what I should do after I recover it again?
edit: forgot to mention that I left it for a few hours while in class and it took me to the recovery setup
Can you get into recovery when it sends you there ?
no I cannot get into recovery. All i can do is get into fastboot.
Right but what recovery setup you mentioned earlier ? Maybe you got a bad ruu download try and re dl it or try a different version.
Sorry the recovery I mentioned was a recovery process the RUU takes you through when an update fails. I also have tried about 4 different downloads to no avail. I have been using this file here
Ok , what Rom did you have on the phone ?
I couldnt tell you for sure I installed it pretty quickly after the ICS update was available. I want to say I installed one of the HTC Holiday or Raider ICS roms because that was available before the Vivid one. Once that was installed I rooted.
Ok one last thing and I will see what I can come up with , the ruu screen when it stopped at 34% what was it trying or waiting on ?

[Q] Sprint One, can only access hboot and recovery

I feel like I have used up all my resources on trying to get my Sprint HTC One back to stock.
Last night I was able to unlock it with no trouble. I didn't realize this would wipe out all my media as well. (not the issue)
So I was going to go and install Benny's Cleanrom and I used Superwipe to clear all the cache and everything that was being restored from the back up. I flashed the Superwipe Rom and it seemed to have gotten the job done, but it also wiped out my OS.
So now I have been stuck with the ability of accessing bootloader and recovery, I am using TWRP right now. None of my pc's recognize my phone when I try to mount it. The phone also shows errors when I try to do so, coming up stating that it cannot mount anything except usb otg. I don't have a USB OTG cable right to use, so that option is still out the window.
I have tried this method
I have tried this method multiple times but ADB was not working. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317989
I have tried the Fastboot method, which had me relocking the phone and running the ruu. Though since I am on the latest version 1.3, the 1.2.9 RUU I was trying to use kept on failing. When doing it through Hasoon's AIO tool it seems that the ruu works when I flash the ruu zip. Though running it the first time it would show up that it failed, but when I re-flash it the second time on the cmd line it shows successful though on the phone the green bar never completes it and it stays at like 95% and doesn't complete the install on the phone.
If someone knows how to get my phone back to stock I would be very appreciative. I am new to rooting on the HTC One, I previously rooted my Evo 3D and my girls SG2.
If someone wants to help me out with team viewer, I will gladly allow anyone to assist me in that matter. I am just hoping that this can be resolved.
Now I see when I type ADB devices in cmd, it shows FA33ZS907479 recovery. I don't know if this has any relevance in that it sees the TWRP recovery.

[Q] Converting my ONE into a GE Android

So, I unlocked my One, got the S-OFF (HBOOT 1.55), when I was pushing the zip file containing the stock GE ROM, it got stuck on "waiting for device". I've tried uninstalling the drives, and installing them again, but its not working. I can turn on the phone fine, but the Recovery is the Google Bootloader and I can;t seem to find a way to go back to the original HTC Bootloader since it wont let me push files while in the bootloader...
What can I do!?

If you've still got s-off and can use fastboot, you could just change your CID and install a GE ruu.

I do have the S-OFF, however, once I enter the Fastboot menu, Windows wont recognize the device and wont let me push anything. It gets stuck in "Waiting for device". Ive installed the latest Google USB Device drivers using the SDK Manager and nothing has changed. :crying:
Try a different USB cable, or port, or a different computer..
Your phone says Fastboot or Fastboot USB?
Remove unneeded drivers

If Windows PC can see phone in normal working state ( like MTP device / Android ADB / USB disk ect ... ) mean - you no need to worry - HW is OK, then try to use a small free tool called DeviceRemover and just clean unneeded ( wrong / old / damaged / ect.. ) FastBoot driver(s) from your system and then try again to connect phone in fastboot mode. Hint - use last tab "Display Mode" to select "Hidden / Deattached" devices - these that not work for you.

You'll have to use a different computer, one running a pre windows 8.1 os.
Windows 8.1 only recognises fastboot for 1.55 or greater bootloaders at the moment.
I had the same situation and had to re-install windows 8 which was a bit drastic but solved this problem
If you're having trouble with the connection in Windows 8.1 like that your Phone does not get recognised, easiest solution get a Linux Live ISO on a USB stick.
Get Universal USB Installer from here http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/
Let it Download a UBUNTU Live ISO
Let the Programm install it on your USB stick and set the Persistent File Size to your liking
Boot from the stick
Open Terminal Window
Install "adb" and "fastboot" with .... sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
Connect the Phone and check if the Phone is recognised (fastboot devices or adb devices)
Do the update
Well, it was a driver issue. I did everything using the Mac OS X partition of my MacBook (for some odd reason I thought all this process was "exclusive" to Windows due to the exes and whatnot, but I was wrong). Now I am running the Stock Google Play Edition on my phone with no issues.

[Q] Getting boot loops no matter what rom

Hey guys,
I have the latest twrp sprint build installed on my Sprint HTC One (m7wls). It seems that no matter what rom I install, after sliding up the lock and unlocking the screen, I get a white HTC splash screen. The phone then proceeds to boot loop. I can access my recovery perfectly fine. This has happened with Android revolution, viper rom, nocturnal google edition, beanstalk 4.4 ge. etc. If it's a GE rom, then the phone will go maybe 1 or 2 steps into set up and then boot loop. If it's a sense rom, I get the same result for each one: i swipe up to unlock, get a white splash screen, and bootloop. I've tried wiping every cache, reflashing several times, and sideloading. I'm really lost guys, I don't know why my phone hates me. Any ideas on what's wrong?
Thanks

Sounds like you installed the GSM version of ViperOne or ARHD(meaning not the version that still has Sprint support).
You will need to RUU to fix it

I've tried another usb port, no dice. I tried the "fastboot devices" command line under both ports, and the device shows up so idk why the RUU utility won't work. I may try manually flashing the firmware via fastboot command.
*edit* I managed to manually flash the firmware package via fastboot, but the phone refuses to boot into even stock android. It's going straight to hboot each time, where it say i has os- 3.05. What's going on? I already relocked.
**edit 2** I've managed to RUU! Now time to reflash recovery and try another rom. Any recommendations?

HTC One M7 Boot Loop With Line of Distorted Pixels At Boot?

Ok, I'm obviously new here, so I'm hoping someone might be kind enough to help. I have a T-Mobile HTC One M7 that seems to be stuck in a boot loop and shows a pixelated/distorted line of pixels right under the "htc" logo at boot. The bootloader is unlocked and I have TWRP recovery 2.8.4 installed - I can flash any recovery and send ROMs via adb no problem, but when the phone goes to reboot to complete the ROM set up is when the problem occurs. What's strange is I was running Android Revolution HD 91.1 just fine before this happened - it first happened after I tried to install AdAway. As it is now, I can boot into bootloader or recovery and can navigate just fine, but if I try to simply start up the phone as normal it goes into the bootloop and shows the distorted line of pixels at the htc boot screen. I've tried wiping everything, tried TWRP recovery 2.8.5, tried a couple different ROMs, and the results are the same. Really hoping someone might be able to help. Some information from the bootloader that might help:
S-ON
HBOOT-1.57.0000
OS-6.10.531.10
Also I'm using a Mac (but also have an HP Stream 7 Windows 8.1 tablet if that might help?) Please help!!

Tried it one last time before tossing the phone for good - failed again, then tried again and it worked! (Again I was using an HP Stream 7 tablet with a USB hub for everything, could have been part of the problem) Thank you so much for your help - gotta admit, this custom ROM stuff might not be for me. Thanks again.
