Hi,
I was using one of the nightly of CM11 and recently i updated my rom to 11-20141102-UNOFFICIAL-lbhuashan, its really good works fine, and i felt its much faster than stock rom and the nightly. Well after installing this my recovery got updated to 6.0.5.1 and PhilZ Touch 6.59.0(CWM 6.0.5.1 - PhilZ Touch 6.59.0).
But the issue came up is, i can't see my Internal SD Card, if im inserting external SD Card, its getting mounted into SDCard0.
It was like SDCard0 as internal memory and SDCard1 as External memory.
Is there anyway to mount the Internal SDCard as SDCard0 like it was before?
I dont want to change the rom because its really working fine for me.
I dont have any issue to format again if that will get worked, but i couldn't see its working..

This is not a bug its a feature to enable USB mode for PC connections. The space from internal SD has been merged into data partition.

Oh is it so?!! Its ok but some app files are getting installed to EXT SD Card, like com.android.browser, com.andrew.apollo etc.
Isn't it possible to move to the Internal SDCard itlself? May i know the benefit of merging this internal memory to data partition.
I felt like its using 8GB for the rom and apks etc and still using the external card too.
First i thought it might be used for swap area or zram, so i installed this rom by removing the external card but still..!!
Is there anyway to move the android, baidu, data etc folder to the internal memory??

No because internal memory doesnt exist. Data partition is for app installs the folders you are referring to arent the apps themselves just user files that get created on install. It actually works well for me so far so i dont mind the change but i can understand why others wouldnt.
Try MrSteves final CM11 weeklies release as this has normal file structure.
now using cm12.1 happily

Hi,
I just changed the mounting of the sdcard and emmc to be reversed. As far as I understand, the sdcard is "usually" the internal sd, and emmc is "usually" the external sd.
The biggest issue I faced was that everytime I reboot my phone, I'll have to remove and reinsert the sd card so that the sdcard is detected by the phone. After I swapped the mounting, everything went well. Is there a reason why the devs use the scheme?
Thanks
EDIT: I'm seeing this on CM nightly 204
haven't use nightly 204 but in stable CM7, there is an option called 'Use Internal Storage' under setting menu 'CyanogenMod Settings'->'Application', check it then internal sdcard would be mount as /sdcard.
Hmm... That's a good option.
Just wondering why the it is not checked by default.
I didn't have sd inserted at first, so *nothing* is working. Camera complains, installing apps failed, etc.
CyanogenMod reverses the sd and emmc mountain as the internal sd is rather small and external is typically larger. They do this since many apps do not offer a way to switch storage location. It is possible to switch them back and there is a tread on it but since I'm on mobile I really can't link to it right now.

I see, that made sense... Yes, option to swap it back is mentioned by hkkp.
But I still think it should default to sd as internal sd, emmc as external flash. Let user make the switch if they wishes to...

i use nightly 204, and didn't happen like you did. i prefer external sd card is default and internal to be external. because external sd is bigger then internal one and faster i use class 10

Odd... Must be some dirty data during flash. Could you check this out?
1. Go to Terminal / adb to the phone
2. type "cat /etc/vold.fstab" without the quotes
3. paste the output here
Could you also check if "Settings->Cyanogenmod Setting->Applications->Use Internal Storage" is checked by default?
Anyone used the V to backup and restore using CWM 6.0.1.2.
When doing mine, it reduced my internal memory to 3.7 GB rather than keeping it at 8GB.
Any ideas how ti get it back to the correct size?
Regards
Does anyone know how to completely delete partitions on the internal SD using adb or something?
I just want the full amount of memory to be visible again
Cheers
My internal storage got corrupted some time ago, wiping internal sdcard in recovery did solve my problem..
Why would you like to do it in adb?
I used CWM to create a backup, when it was 'freeing up space' it resized my internal SD card to 3.71 GB (used to be 8GB).
Ive tried a format in recovery already, but the size does not change, i want to know if there is a way to look at / manage the internal SD card partitions to see what CWM has done, and then format or restore it from there.
Cheers
.. Ok so u can't fill up your internal sdcard above 3.7gb right?
idk much about partitions..
But what if u mount the internal storage as MSC mode (instead of MTP?)
Correct, the internal card is just not showing the right available space.
I have not found a way to mount the internal SD card as MSC yet, been looking, so i could possibly then use mini partition tool on it.
I remember Doomload had a way for the Xperia S, could check to see if it works for the V.
i´m not sure but i have read somewhere that only 3,7 Gb is user available
http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=1398673
that´s in swedish can be difficult to understand but there is stated about it, i dunno if it is correct
Hmmm, i actually never noticed that, could be right all along then.. thanks for that, ill have a scout round to confirm if thats the case. Seems strange, why would 4GB be required on an SD card. Either way, at least i know it's ok now, haha.
Regards
[EDIT]
Confirmed, 3.7 available

I tried taking a picture yesterday, as it was taking my phone crashed and rebooted. Usually I don't find this to be a big deal, but when it rebooted the phone came up with a notification that "Blank SD card: SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem." When I click on that it says "Format SD card? All data on your card (under path '/storage/sdcard0') will be erased. This action can't be reversed!"
Although I believe sdcard0 is internal memory, I backed up my sd card just in case by plugging the micro sd card (32 gb patriot class 10, about 22 months old) into my computer and it read just fine, so I copied all the data off of it, formatted the sd card, copied all the data back on, and turned on my phone. I still get the same error and can run ES File Explorer and it shows all my data on the sd card in /storage/sdcard1 (although opening up the Gallery app shows "No external storage available" but opening up pics from ES File Explorer still shows them behind the message). Just to confirm, sdcard0 is the internal memory right? If I format sdcard0 will that format my entire rom? Am I better off wiping and reflashing? I don't think I have anything important on the internal memory.
I'm running cm-10.1-20130806 (waiting to upgrade to 4.3 when Bluetooth is working).

Wiping internal memory worked fine, thanks again for the help. I thought I would have more free time to try out your pac rom, hopefully I can get around to flashing this weekend.

While using "Adopt SD as Internal Storage" in Marshmallow , Camera app is not working as it is searching for SD Card. Any solution ?

I wish to point out some more observations:
1. You'll get a hell long time reboot if you've made your ext_SD to be used as Internal Storage.
2. Applications could crash more often resulting in freeze and auto reboot.
3. Atleast in my case Camera worked perfectly but FCs on other applications made me move back to use ext_SD as intended and NOT Internal Storage.
4. Also it messed up the MTP.
5. Lastly but the most important one: It's virtually impossible to go back to "use ext_SD as intended" from the Android itself AND formatting the card from Windows/Mac OS/Linux is messed up since the ext_SD will show its capacity as 30MB in case of a 4GB or 11.2MB in case of 2GB.
To correct this and regain it's lost capacity, I had to download the formating tool from this website (SD Association) since default formating tools preloaded on OSes will not work: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ and format using the software.
This is just my hypothesis after flashing stock at least 20+ times and doing all the trial and error.
Based on the hypothesis, further I wish to conclude, ext_SD as Internal Storage on Marshmallow is way too buggy atleast on Android One.
EDIT: I'm dong some more trial errors on different TWRPs as 2.8.6.0 treats ext_SD as ext_SD while 2.8.7.0 treats it as a normal SD.
SuperSu Beta 2.52 is confirmed to cause bootloops.
It seems u have not formatted ur sd card properly to use it as internal storage. It happened with me also. I would suggest u to format it as portable and then again format and use as internal storage.
While formatting as internal it will be stuck at 20% for long time, so don't minimize the screen let it get complete to 100%. Afterwards u will get message that it can now be used as internal storage. Now u can use camera app as intended.
For those who are experiencing random reboots, i would suggest them to use class 10 sdcard.
hi all!!
i have xperia sp 8 gb!! installing few app takes lot of space .. with the new feature in marshmallow (installed cm13)
where we can use sd card as internal memory and move app + whole data. however if we use that function the data is encrypted and we cant flash anything using twrp or even cant install the updates.
so i wanted to create a partition where 25-50% can be used as internal and rest as portable!!
i have tried to create partition using TWRP .. result failed.. nothing really happened ,, tried both ext3/ext4 and after reboot the sd card detected has to be used either as portable or internal
then i tries app2sd and link2sd both are again not able to create partition.
app2sd has option to create adoptable storage which it actually created and i could see 25% as internal and 75% as external however when i tried to move app it was just like move to sd card.. where app was moved to adoptable storage and data still remains in internal memory!!
anyone can please help... in short i want to use my sd card both as internal and external storage!!
internal : to move big apps with data
external : so that i can flash apps/ install updates!!
thanks in advance
