Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out the differences between versions of the Moto G 2014. So far I understand the following, could people correct my errors please?
XT1063
Single sim, 8GB, version with the below bands. Android L available OTA. Poor T-Mobile US coverage as lacking AWS 1700
GSM 1800, 1900, 850, 900
UMTS 900, 850, 2100, 1900
HSPA 900, 850, 2100, 1900
XT1064
Another US version, single sim, different band support (below) Android L available OTA.
GSM 1800, 1900, 850, 900
UMTS 850, 2100, 1900, 1700
HSPA 850, 2100, 1900
XT1068
8GB International version, as sold in UK, DE, and others. Dual sim. No Android L OTA yet.
Some territories have a 16GB version.
GSM 1800, 1900, 850, 900
UMTS 900, 850, 2100, 1900
HSPA 900, 850, 2100, 1900
XT1069
Seems to be XT1068 with some form of DVB-T tuner. All other details as XT1068 including dual sim.

Yes we have 16GB version
http://www.flipkart.com/item/MOBDYGZ6SHNB7RFC
Xt1063 is single sim, and have and 16gb version, i have a xt1063 16gb single sim.
XT1068 is also sold in Germany, with firmware RETDE. The one from UK has firmware RETGB.
I wonder if those firmwares are freely interchangeable (without any side effects), also considering there's also RETALL version.
Hi, so I just bought a moto g 2nd gen from amazon (amazon.com) global gsm version, but they dont specify which model it is and I want to know if I will get ota update, I live in another country and the phone will take a while to be here so I cant see the model behind the batery :crying:
XT1069 is a brazilian variant fitted with 16Gb and digital TV support
Xt1068 in Brazil have just 8gb. And costs 270 bucks.
XT1068 is also sold in France 8gb with RETALL firmware

Mine is XT1063 and it's sigle SIM
I have both the xt1063 (bought from amazon when the US version was out of stock) and I also have the xt1064 (bought directly from Motorola, just received yesterday)
Both are single Sim versions here in the US, the xt1063 lacks the 1700 AWS band needed for HSPA+ on Tmo here in the states. Once I left the city my xt1063 would fall to edge...and frequently I was stuck with an almost useless "G" data icon. For the past two day I have been using the xt1064, my phone has not dropped out of HSPA+ even being 40 miles outside the city at home.
...for anyone in the US on the fence about buying this phone, wait for the US version...you will be much happier with the signal reception
I've updated the original post with your info, thanks guys.
So it seems the two models sold in the US are 1063 and 1064, both being single sim, which perhaps explains why nobody else has Android L yet.
I'm interested in the idea of a DVB-T tuner in the 1069, I wonder why that didn't make it worldwide. I also wish I could buy a 16gb version :/
Yesterday was announced the 4g version of Moto G, codename xt1078. Its ready to be launched here in a couple days.

Hey everyone, I updated my question and post it in the right forum, so here is it :
I'm gonna buy a S3 4G LTE on kogan in australia, here the frequencies according to the description :
2G Network 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
3G Network 850, 900, 2100MHz
4G Network 800, 1800, 2600

(I think it's the SGH-I747)
I'm going to travel around USA/Mexico, I found the map of GSM world coverage, its says for those countries :
2G 1900 850
3G 1700/2100, 3G 850/1900
Will the 3G be working in thoses places ? (i'm just worrying about the frequencies in bold, 1700 and 1900Hz)
Cheers

I just purchased a unlocked xperia z, which was imported from Singapore. From what I read this phone should work on the T-mobile network, but all I'm getting is 2g. I put in the T-mobile APN and even tried scanning but all it shows is 2g. Any insight as to what's happening? Thanks!
The phone has these bands:
Networks
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS/HSPA+ 850, 900, 2100
LTE Band I, Band III, Band IV, Band VII and Band XX (800, 850, 1800, 2100, 2600)

Nope. Only 2g. It does not have the 1900 hspa/umts band. U need the c6602 model number. Will get nice hspa speeds on att networks tho.
Quick question: I'm able to get a good deal on a XT1095 but live in Europe, so I guess I would be better served (range/compatibility with the available networks) with a XT1092 model - quite a bit more expensive.
Is this a non-issue? Is there no hardware difference whatsoever and can I convert them via software and actually get all the network support I need?
Moto X - Pure Edition XT1095
UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700 (AWS), 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17)
vs
Moto X - XT1092
UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (1, 3, 7, 8, 20)
I believe in Belgium UMTS/HSPA+ is on the 1800MHz band so that would be needed to get this where there is no LTE coverage.
Hey there.
I bought my Moto G v2 a few weeks ago in the US, but I live in New Zealand. Because of this, my data connection is stuck on edge here (woo hoo 0.19mb/s download).
Does anyone have the modem files or something?
Did you check the 3g band used by your carrier?
Its unlocked?

"2 Degrees uses GSM900MHz (older 2G technology), UMTS 2100MHz (new 3G technology) and also can use GSM1800MHz and UMTS900MHz"
I have the US version of the phone, which uses different frequencies to the international version.
Yes, it's unlocked.
I was under the impression that it is a hardware thing and you'll not get 3g there with the US model.

As I understand USA model is missing the 900 and 1800band for 3g
Is unlikely that will work but you can check this thread you might find something

2100 is international & us model is missing this.
http://www.ebay.com/itm//322043256747?lgeo=1&rmvSB=true
This is a model made for US Cellular. Its GSM tho and unlocked.
Its super cheap right now and tempting.
Looks like it has 2, 4, and 12 LTE bands.
What I'm not sure about it the 3G bands (it has 1900 and 2100 but not 1700, would that cause a problem?) and 2G (in case im in the boondocks).
This one has:
LTE Bands 2/4/5/12/13/17/25, CDMA 800, 1900 MHz, WCDMA 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Anyone know more about this than me?
thanks
