So I just got my nexus 6 today and was looking forward to using Google music 6month trial. I enjoyed the free month i had with the nexus 5.
The problem is that it's saying I have to pay. I looked it up and the offer is only valid to new subscriber?
Is there a way to redeem the 6 months without creating a new account?

I'm fairly sure creating a new account is the only way to get it, assuming you've used a free trial before.
In the terms and conditions it says you only get the free 6 months if you are not a paid subscriber or have never used a free trial.
Woohoo for me then

Poop. Thanks guys I just made a new account

If you use your regular gmail account to set up your phone, how do you use a separate account to listen to Google Play on that device? I can understand if you want to login into it on the browser everytime but I imagine it would be different as your always logged into your google account on the phone.

Watch out if you plan to register multiple nexus 7's on the same google account, you will only get one credit. According to google you need to register each device under a different google account, kinda stupid for a family. I am going to call back tomorrow and see if they can "fix" this......

Why would they *fix* that? It's working as intended. Families aren't allowed to "share" accounts. And really why would you even want to? Except so that multiple people can all use the same paid apps at different times on different devices? Which of course google has no intention of making easier.
I don't see the harm for a family. I control what is on my kid's tablets. Google allows many multiple devices on one account.
Hi I just figured out a way to get unrestricted access to google books , magazine, movies and TV from outside the US. {I am from india}
It involves no rooting or side loading. I am editing the video on how to get it done, will upload as soon as i finish. you will get the $25 free credit too using the following work around.... wait for it....

i assume it involves using a US VPN?
Plus you need a US credit card in order to buy any of the said magazines, books, movies etc... So it's pointless.
heh, I just want the $25 credit!!
Not really,
i'm out of USA, and could buy a movie and a book with a US VPN + International credit card.
Just give a US Zip code, the billing address vs register are not checked.
but my problem is: when i back to my N7 or my Gnexus i couldn't see the movie because it recognize that i'm out of US (My Google play movie version ends with "br").

Yes it works but I have seen people with suspended wallet accounts because of these fake addresses. People were crying even on this forum because of this issue. Not everyone face this problem but probably they do random checks.

1. If I upgrade my firmware or uninstall the app can I download it again for free or do I have to pay it again?
2. How does Refund works?

As the person above me replied.
You will have 15 minutes to cancel an order. To find the "Refund" button and cancel your order:
Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
Tap Menu > My Apps.
Find the app you've purchased that you'd like to cancel and tap to open the details page.
Within the 15 minutes, you will see the option to "Open" or "Refund" - tap "Refund" to cancel the order.
If you cancel your order within the first 15 minutes, your credit/debit card will not be charged. Any line items on your statement are only authorizations.

OK thanks for your answers

That's some app has within 24hr refund program mostly send them email. Read apps description carefully

Well, there used to be a refund period of 48 hours. But people really abused this when it came to games. That was a large reason why big companies did not want to come to android (that and piracy). Some didn't come at all and others like game loft made it so that you had to buy games from their website and then side load them.
Because of these issues, they turned the refund period down to 15 minutes. Personally, I think 30-60min would be perfect. Sometimes it takes 15 just to get a game on progress working properly.
But, at least it is better than the 0 minute policy Apple has.
Actually 15 minutes is enough. Many people are already misusing the refund feature. Buy app. Quickly make a backup of it in Titanium backup / copy the .apk installation file from cache/download/ and then ask for a refund. Its cheap, I know but many are doing it
About Google wallet, it is quite secure. I have bought with it and removed my debit card attached without any problem.
They may charge 0.01$ for no reason but they refund it back within a month or a week. I think its for verification. I tried with my debit card.
@chemical: hell yeah it's cheap! It's like stealing one candy bar from a local store... i mean, if you can't squeeze that one dollar on an app that you'll use for a long time, there's something wrong... what's better, have an app for free, or pay 1$ and get updates for as long as app is developed? :]
Support your local merchants and not so local developers!
So you have 15 mins to copy the app from /data/apps or /mnt/asec to your SD Card >

go fvck yourself if you can't afford to pay 1 or 2$ for an app that you'll use for a long time

You obviously never tried to do something creative (let it be painting, app, or piece of music) and sell it. Many developers release apps on play store to make money for living (unlike you, probably living with your parents without any source of income, acceptable until you go to school) and pay bills and rent and you said "everyone should abuse play store", how would you feel if some big bad guy grabbed you in a dark alley and mugged you off from all money and other goods? Not so good, isn't it? You do same thing by abusing play store...

However, there is one problem. What will you do if someone sends you malware to be published on Google Play?
You are the one who is responsible for everything you upload there. Just my thoughts. Think about it.
Well, lets just hope that this doesn't happen, i'll review the apk a bit and look for something that screams "I'm malware"
Who knows if even anyone is interested

If there will be malware, they will delete your dev account. Just for your information.
Good luck!
Hmm i'm sensing some sort of breaching of the developer terms of use
Maybe i'm just cynical after they removed my free app for copyright infringement lol but they did say several time that repeat offenses will result in your developer account being terminated.
But i agree the $25 is kind of bs, just for the intent to filter out spam.
Well, lets end this thread, there's no one interested anyway

GiveMeApps has no developer fees and gives you the option keep 100% of your earnings. They'll also let you withdraw your earnings whenever you want (not once a month or once every two weeks, or whatever), but they WILL delete your dev account if you upload malware. Wouldn't any reputable online store do this anyway? http://www.givemeapps.com
You're responsible if you upload harmful content, but most dev agreements will hold YOU responsible for any damages, so be careful. Why would you risk your own account?
you keep posting about them in every thread, but when are they going live?
every app i click on has no description and a pic of angry birds on top.

There's a lot more to distributing your apps through Google Play than offering your users a nice way to update them. Google Play is also a great showcasing platform, its search algorithm ensures prioritizing your app to the intended targeted users, etc. Also, as other people pointed out, it's the best way to keep users away from malicious apps.

Plex for PlexPASS is free, but it requires a PlexPASS membership to use.
Plex for Android is paid, but does not requires a PlexPASS membership to use.
I should point out that the Amazon version is three versions behind the Google version....
Thats an Amazon thing not really a fault of Plex...(At least thats what they claim!)
Actually I consider that a good thing. The Amazon version does update, but it's just a few weeks behind the Google Play store. Let the other bleeding-edge testers run past me and throw themselves on the pikes before I decide to update.
