I have the XT-1052 version of Moto X and its running the Asia Retail firmware. I had unlocked the bootloader and flashed CM12 but returned to stock rom through this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/retail-firmware-uploaded-xt1052-t2976596. I will be selling the device and want to re lock the bootloader. Can i type the ''fastboot oem lock'' command in mfastboot tool and re lock the bootloader? Also, will it erase the whole data on the device?

Yes, fastboot oem lock will lock it, and no it will not wipe data. Only unlocking wipes data.
But you status code will show relocked you can never get status code back to locked once unlocked.

Correct. Whoever has the phone will be able to see the "tamper seal" that shows the bootloader was previously unlocked, but is now locked again.
I would provide whoever you sell the phone to the bootloader unlock code so they can unlock in the future if they so desire. Not sure if they can request the code from Motorola again or not.

I tried it but it asks me to flash the signed images. The link i mentioned above comes with an XML file which dictates the steps RSD should be following, right? So if i upload the XML file can you edit the command line and add the command? I am not an expert in this stuff.
i have relocked flashing manually with fastboot, not sure if you add the oem lock cmd to the xml will work.
fastboot oem lock begin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock

the lock is the last command, if you don't flash all the files in order the last command will not work, only exception is the gpt.bim, but is a maybe...
so if you have error principal on line 3, you need to check if the file exist, it command is flashing a file, if the file don't exist will not flash and a error show, and check all the command again, try and make a print screen of the process and the folder with all the file, and put it here...
if you have a full original Motorola ROM it must work, if everything check the rom is the probem.
I know i may have check everything command files it all , but i must try all possibilities.
and way you need to lock it?
i don't use mac, just windows and the PC or MAC is not the problem becouse i use that some order of commnad's last time i lock my phone but i lock just to see if is possible because after you unlocked you never need to change for noting.
bootloader have 3 stats:
Status code 0 =locked with warranty
Status code 3 = unlocked without warranty
Status code 2= re-locked but also without warranty
Status code 1 is unknown.
you can receive and install the OTA if you have the stock ROM no changes no root + stock recovery and boot images, bootloader status doesn't change a ting.
the only uses for re-locked it is to test if you can, or test if the rom is full stock or try to send for repair but in that last depending on the region it will not be repair for free, because it loses the warranty after bootloader unlock, but if yours region don't care for bootloader status, or the help center care but don't notes it you can try and have success.
I have the P10 64gb Dual Sim version, VTR-L29C63B162
I have rooted the phone, unlocked the boot loader and upgrated to VTR-L29C63B162
After searching the forums and the web I can't find a successful or comprehensive way to Revert all the changes, can someone provide thier help please?
- Relock bootloader
- Remove root
- flash stock recovery and OS
Thanks:good:
Hey Mate,
First: i never did locked the bootloader again, but i readed something on the internet about it. I also not have a Guide, but maybe i can give you some hints about it.
Flashing Stock Recovery and System via. Bootloader
If you want to flash back the Stock Recvovery and System you have to download the original Firmeware (Update.app from Huawei).
After you got the Update.app (should be like 2 GB) you have to extract the Update.APP to get BOOT.IMG, SYSTEM.IMG, RECOVERY.IMG (plus CUST.IMG).
To extract the UPDATE.APP you can use this tool (HUAWEIUPDATEEXTRACTOR) from worstenbrood:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Extract the BOOT.IMG, SYSTEM.IMG, RECOVERY.IMG (plus CUST.IMG) to your ADB and Fastboot Platforms Tool.
after that you can flash the Images in the fastboot mode.
I think (i am not 100% sure about it) to flash the Images in this sequence (control that on the internet):
fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.IMG
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG
(fastboot flash cust CUST.IMG)
after that your phone should boot like your unboxing it the first time.
Locking Bootloader again via fastboot
I think you can relock your Bootloader again with one of these fastboot commands:
fastboot oem lock YourCode
fastboot flashing lock
fastboot oem relock YourCode
if one of this is working you can boot your devices (fastboot reboot).
I never tried this and dont know exactly whats your goal (relock, lock whatever) but maybe this is another hint:

Kind Regards
@neuenburg Thanks!
I will try this and let you know if it works for me
It worked , although I had to:
- restore factory settings
- connect device to pc via usb
- click on build to enable developer mode
- enable USB debugging in developer mode
- unplug device, replug and authorise usb debugging for the pc
Then I did this via adb cmd
- adb reboot-bootloader
- fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG
- fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.IMG
- fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG
- fastboot reboot
Go back into fastboot after device restart
- fastboot oem relock [unlockcodexxxxxxxxx]

Thanks a lot, works great!
When relocking the bootloader does the phone then say *bootloader relocked" or anything like that or is it back to standard as if first unboxed?
Also, on a side note, is there a way to use banking apps with the bootloader unlocked/rooted etc? On my old phone Barclays wouldn't work with the root but it looked like Magisk etc were working on ways top get past this.
[Q] fastboot oem unlock with correct code fails with "command did not succeed"
Hi,
I recently got an xperia Z into my hands and wanted to unlock the bootloader.
I checked the IMEI in the system settings and requested and received an unlock code for the device.
I unlocked the bootloader with the code,
but now I am not able to flash or boot anything via fastboot (device still boots normally though).
When trying to flash e.g. twrp to the boot partition
(
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
)
it fails with "remote: command not allowed"
Also trying
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
does not work properly:
In this case it just reboots into Android.
I am using Linux to flash stuff.
I already tried using the flashtool, which also didnt bring me any success.
Does anyone have an idea or a solution to this problem?
Best regards

You need to enable bootloader unlock through setting in developer option enable oem unlock, and then you can use the ' fastboot flashing unlock'
You can't root with locked bootloader as it will show an error message your device is corrupt,
At you situation now you should flash stock boot and then the phone will open and then you go to settings as i mentioned to enable oem unlock through developer option in settings
Fastboot unlock bootloader with long command, you will see it unlock temporarily till reboot, flash boot.img and recovery.img, reboot into recovery wipe data & cache, utilize USB otg to reinstall rom.

Use "Fastboot fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX629J" to unlock the bootloader and flash the correct boot img. Or you can go to stock recovery flash the whole system. It is caused by an unsigned boot file.
