Tap & Go Restore not working? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Nexus 5 with L and app/data backup turned on. It's also rooted and running faux kernel, no other mods.
When I tried to use tap & go restore with my new N6, everything appeared to be fine, but after I hit OK on setting up Google Now, a little notification comes up saying "Couldn't restore backup."
Anyone else have this issue?
UPDATE: I flashed the stock kernel and unrooted and it's still not working ... I thought this was supposed to be easy?

I think on the old phone you need to have the Back Up my Data set to backup to the Google Servers. First time i used it, only my google account got transfer'd (setting wasn't checked on my old phone). I checked it and tried again after I unlocked it and the phone wiped and the second time it worked better. When I touched them it asked me which device I wanted to restore (I had my N6 from before and my S4e showed up this tmie as well). All my play store apps installed, some of them the data migrated others didn't.

Thanks @lordgodgeneral.
Not sure if my N5 hadn't properly synced or what, but I left the N6 on for a bit and ended up getting a system update. After the system update I did a oem unlock. After the oem unlock, the restore worked. I'm doubtful that it was the oem unlock, so either the system update fixed it or my N5 was able to properly sync/back itself up to Google servers.

Yesterday, I turned on "back up my data" and "automatic restore" under settings->Backup & reset. However, my apps still did not transfer over. How do I make sure Google Servers has my apps? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks

Tried looking up a few vids on Tap & Go, but none answered the question I have. I know it restores from an old phone, but exactly what gets restored? Is it just Google accounts that you log into on the previous phone, and all of the Google settings associated with those accounts? Or does it restore any phone settings at all? I know it can do WiFi settings, but does it do anything with deeper settings like power saving settings, stuff like that? Basically hoping it restores the Google accounts and then the phone itself is still at the default settings it has right out of the box if Tap & Go hadn't been done.
Also, does it happen to transfer pics and all that too?

Does anyone know if Tap and Go can be used if it was skipped during the initial set up? I'm having trouble figuring it out, because I skipped it out of the chute

I bumped by N5:
Restored everything. Apps, widgets, placement on home screen, WiFi passwords, etc. Didn't restore my car's BT sync, but that's about it.

I bumped a galaxy S3. Only restored apps, widgets and placement. Didn't restore any of my app information like logins or things like my text messages. Seems like a cool concept similar to iCloud, but doesn't seem like a full transfer.

I'm having a similar Tap & Go issue. Tried to move from Nexus 5 to Nexus 6 on Tmobile. Tap & Go failed the first time, but the second time it says it completed and had me sign in to my google account, but nothing transferred over to the N6.
Android 5.0.1 update eventually downloaded and installed, but still no account transfers. Maybe I'll try to reset the N6 and try it over again.
Can't find anyway to restart Tap and Go after its done the first time. Doesnt appear to be a way without resetting the device.
UPDATE:
After I reset the new Nexus 6 device, and retried Tap & Go during device setup, it worked this time. So far it looks like it transferred apps and home screen widgets and layouts. Haven't dug in to see what else it transferred yet, waiting on apps to finish installing.
Not sure why it needed a device reset and a 2nd attempt. Maybe it needed the Android 5.0.1 update that installed after the first attempt, but that doesn't make sense why that would matter. I did set my N5 screen not to timeout for 5 minutes (had it at 1 min before). So maybe the N5 locking in the middle made it fail, but again, no proof that was really the case. btw, both my devices are just bland stock android 5.0.1 .... i haven't rooted or anything.

Lucky you! I tried 1/2 dozen times, no luck.
I went back to manually logging in (no NFC T&G) then choosing the backup manually and letting it install. This went ahead and started installing apps .
The only issue was although it was backed up in settings my 2nd Nexus 6 didn't appear in the backup list, only the previous Nexus 5 that I had to restore from, this was still ok and quicker than manually installing one by one,

I would skip Tap & Go, put in my google account Username and Pass, then you should see the following if you are using Android 5.x

I tried this twice and both times it successfully downloads all the apps I had on my other device but none of the app data. Am I missing something? How did it work for you? Did it take a while to populate the apps with the right data after all the apps were downloaded?

Hasn't worked on my new 6P that I'm trying to switch from my N6. Google hasn't been able to help me yet either.

My nexus 6 won't work either when trying. I just setup the longer way. Was probably better off anyway. Used Google services to backup contacts etc and then helium to backup txt n stuff. Helium sucks and had to do a work around to get it to work but worked.

Success eventually - Software Levels
I couldn't get this to work between my old Droid Turbo and my new one. In the end I realized that the new one needed several system updates to bring it up to the same level as the old one. Once I did that, then did a factory reset on the new one, I tried again and Tap & Go worked.

Market Enabler

People often mention that to get apps to show in the Market that are missing, they use MarketEnabler. When I do this, and fake T-Mobile, Verizon or whatever, it never shows any missing apps at all. It looks like it does nothing. I've even tried Force Stopping the Market afterwards and clearing its cache. (Yes I have root. I'm currently running CM7, but it didn't do anything on Eclair 1.0.1 either.)
Am I missing something? Is there a trick to getting it to work?
Is there any other way to get apps to show up? Downloading on my phone, backing it up, and transferring it is getting annoying haha.
Anyone?
have you tried "market access"?
without it i could not see paid apps in the store (because of my country). now i can buy apps with no problem.
still, i dont know if it will give you access to those apps hidden for you

Thanks. Gave it a try but still missing apps.
The Amazon app, official Twitter app, Google Voice. I can't get these to show up still, and probably plenty of other pretty "standard" apps.
Can anyone on CM7 get these to show up in the Market? If so, how?
and can't you get them thru the web market? (just speculating, i dont have CM, i'm still waiting for a stable release)

Note: I do know how to transfer apks manually; it's just annoying to do so. I wish the apps actually showed up in the Market.
Its not carrier restricted since you are not coming from a carrier. The problem is actually being addressed at length by the CM team in the dev threads.
edit: its related to (i believe) some apps requiring an SD card and some apps requiring a security setting related to copy protection... I could be wrong on that 2nd part.

So are you saying some apps (like Amazon, the official Twitter, and Google Voice) cannot be seen by ANYONE running CM7, no matter what?
Hmm. Could you tell me, how much time it took for web market to recognise your device after rooting and adding google apps? It was more than 10 hours since I autonooted, but there are no signs of my nook in market's device list. I use autonooted 1.1.0.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, not sure. When I checked to see if Market Installs would work, that was the first time I logged in since installing CM7 last weekend. I assume it shows up immediately after you register with the Market on the device, but I guess not.
Oh, so you are running CM7.
Does anybody know whether Nook with nooted 1.1 ROM shows in the web market device list at all?

No, I am saying it is hit and miss. Check the dev thread for details and a work around.
I had success with market enabler, but not on cm7..nookie froyo and I did the clear cache of market force stop and google framework something or other also.
Did a reboot and then first thing used market enabler to fake Tmo and then all the missing apps I had been looking for showed up right away.
hit and miss is no joke though.
tried both verizon and tmoble. didnt do anything except cause my market to keep crashing. trying to reboot a couple of time to hopefully bring it back up. glad i made a back up a little while ago.
guess ill search for another solution.
I have all Apps listed.

Paul, I've never had much issue using CM7 nightlies. A few Vs back the "my apps" starting working as well.
PM any requests while you futz with your Market access. I'll send whatever you like.
well it appears that my nook was registered through the marketplace properly, went to the the android market website, found the app i wanted (google maps), selected install, it lets me choose either my phone or my nook. chose nook, downloaded right away. now i have access to anything not showing in my market.
not the most ideal fix. but it works for now. not like i was missing many anyways. try it out. can probably even be done from nook browser.

What ROM are you using? And did you edit your build.prop manually? What "fix" do you mean?
No matter what app I select on the market.android.com website, it says my Nook is not compatible (see a few post #8 for screenshot).

im just using the custom froyo 0.6.8 from sd.

i havent done anything besides run this version. i really dont know how to do any of the fixes or anything else. very noobish. so glad this had everything i needed and runs so smooth.
by *fix* i mean, just way of doing things. not really a *fix*. there are apparently fixes out there. but this required no programing and no use of adb, although i finally figured out adb wireless. so i could finally try it if i wanted.

[Q] Trusted Places not working with 5.1

So after updating to 5.1, I'm finding Trusted Places isn't working in Smart Lock. Prior to this update it worked fine, although refused to recognize my Home and Work locations, forcing me to add them manually as new addresses. But now it actually shows my Home perfectly in a new, better interface, but no amount of turning my phone off and on, rebooting, or confirming my location with Google Maps will get it to not lock itself when I turn off the screen.
Now initially it would also crash Google Play Services when I'd go into the Trusted Devices screen or tap on my Home address, so then I updated to the latest Play Services and restarted. That seemed to resolve that, but it's since resulted in still usually crashing when it tries to pull my home address. I finally disabled Home, then added it manually, like I had to do int he past. It accepted it, but unlike in the past, it still won't work. Phone locks when I power it off, despite sitting right in the epicenter of that feature.
Anyone else seeing this? Anyone else manage to resolve this?
I haven't upgraded, but trusted places stopped working for me yesterday. I think it might have something to do with google play services.
Still on 5.0.1 myself and I ended up just turning the locking off because it was screwing up so much. So not sure it's a 5.1 thing.
Sent from my Nexus 6
Trusted places not working here either. Still on 5.0.1 stock. This just started two days ago.
Trusted Places was working fine on 5.0.1. After upgrading to 5.1 I have the following happening
Trusted Places through Google Maps (Home, Work) Do not work
Trusted Places Manually added do work
Same here. Sideloaded OTA yesterday and TP fails. If you revert Play Services back to 6+ (5.1 takes it to 7+) it works fine, so a Google Play Services issue.
Also for me, I have a pin to start the phone. IT used to boot to the pin then stop there forever until you entered the pin. Now, it continues to booth "through" the pin screen and will take you to the (locked) main home screen. When you swipe up to unlock, the phone hangs and has to be hard rebooted - every time. They only way past this is to immediately enter your unlock pin when it first appears during the boot process, before the full system is up.
this happened to me as well but not from 5.1 from the Google Play Services update. And yes it seems to be more of a problem with your Google Maps places vs custom set ones. A temp fix i found was to turn it off and back on (along with trusted agents) but it doesn't stick forever.

+1 Thanks! This got it working. I turned off the previous place and added new and all good.
My trusted places seem to be working after the 5.1 upgrade, BUT it only seems to want to automatically pull my home address now. It used to allow me to use home and work. I can't seem to get work to show up unless I manually add it. I think my OCD is just bothering me about it more than anything.
5.1 on AT&T.
Both the built-in (Home, Work) and custome locations are failing for me.
Mine works better than it did on 5.01.
Update:
4 hours later and stopped working again.
Another play services update is coming out. Can't tell if it works yet. Still only gives the option for home.

I was having this same problem myself and I have finally fixed it. For me, it looks like it may be caused by street names in the smart lock address mismatching with what Google Maps has. In Google Maps my street name changed from two words to one (from River Creek to Rivercreek) and once I updated my Home location in the "My Places" section of Google Maps the smart lock worked for that location correctly. When I did all of this I was running Google Play Services 6.7.74. I just upgraded to 7.0.96 and the smart lock function has stuck (although it didn't seem to stick initially after the upgrade until after I manually went to Maps and pressed the location target).
I have no idea why my street name was changed from two words to one in Google Maps. I listed a complaint with Google. I am wondering if they somehow knew the name of my home street changed before I did. Google knows best I suppose.
Mine works, then doesn't, all without leaving my house. Borked.
Nexus 6
I have the same issue on my Nexus 5 with 5.1.
Trusted devices and trusted faces do work.
Trusted places do not work, even adding an address manually.

Trusted places are based on Location Service objects like longitude and latitude. Not labels (names). You can pick any spot on the map. They don't work in 5.1 with Google Play Services 6.5 or 7.0 (as of 7.0.96).
Before testing make sure any Trusted Devices are off.

Disappearing home icons/widgets, spotify music and contacts on MI5 Pro

My wife got her new MI5 Pro on Saturday. Since then she's been having all sorts of issues which we feel are probably related.
She installed the Google Play Launcher and gave it auto start permissions etc. She also installed Spotify and downloaded music for use offline, as well as installing the "Nine" email client which she's used for ages on her old phone. The following morning she noticed missing home icons/widgets, offline music had gone and not all of her contacts from Nine were showing in the inbuild Contact App.
We've done some digging around. Initially I turned off the scheduled cleaner in the security app, thinking this was the culprit but the following morning the above items were gone again. She let me know yesterday that she'd found a post somewhere saying to turn off the Mi backup, which she did. This morning I got a message from her saying the stuff had disappeared again and she thinks the backup has run again despite her turning it off (I'm working away so can't see the phone).
These issues, combined with the Android Pay not working (all card readers say "unsupported card type") means the first 5 days with the phone have been nothing but frustration and it's likely to end up being launched through a window.
Has anyone any ideas?

Are they being uninstalled or made invisible/hidden?
Have you tried with a different launcher at all?
The icons are simply being removed from the home screen, and the Spotify downloads disappearing.
Still no luck with android pay either, which she's annoyed about as she bought this phone as people said android pay was working.
When I get home I'll see how she's got on.

Sorry, I honestly thought I'd put that in my post. She's on global stable 7.5.2.0 (MAAMIDE)

We've found the cause of the missing icons, music etc.
In settings, additional settings, backup and reset there is an option called local backup which was running at 02:30 every day. She's just manually run the backup job and immediately all the aforementioned items disappeared.
She's now disabled the auto backup and we'll see what happens in the morning, but it looks good so far.
This, from what she's described, is different from the Mi backup that she disabled yesterday (which didn't fix the issue)
Now all we need to do is fix Android pay and she'll be happy

Good news,
Is her bootloader unlocked? As this will stop Android Pay from working I believe. Or are you saying she can get the cards on to the Android Pay app but when she tries to use it in a shop it's not working?
Bootloader is not unlocked. Running stock 7.5.2.0 global stable.
She's added the card ok, and got a letter off the bank confirming it's activated, but it doesn't work when she tries to pay.
When she used it Sunday the payment terminal said "unsupported card type". When she tried it today she said she just got two beeps from the terminal.

Just tried again and the card reader gives a double beep (instead of the long beep I get with my contactless card)

Same problem with Mi Mix2 with Google launcher and android 7.1
This problem is still present in both the Mix 2 and my wife's Mi Note 2.
Both fully up to date, both using Google launcher.
Both using Global Stable ROMs,
Both not modified, no root, basically stock, with only difference being the launcher.
For android pay, you should probably update to the latest ROM-version. If you don't see an update in the updater app, you can download the zip here: http://en.miui.com/download-299.html#443 , go to the updater app, click the 3 dots, click on 'choose update' and click on the file you just downloaded.

How to guide: Enable 'ok Google' to work from ANY screen

This guide will work on both the HD 7 and HD 8. **EDIT, NOTE:** It will probably be better to make sure you have all the core Google Apps and services updated to the latest versions BEFORE you start this guide. Please see this post before you start the guide.
First download and install the Google App, which is required. Also download and install Gboard (this is only required for voice typing).
From the Google app , tap the three bars at the upper left > settings > voice. Set your default language, set speech output to on and download an offline speech set. Then tap 'ok Google' detection and switch ON 'from the Google app'. You can try to turn on 'from any screen', but you won't be able to...yet. Now open the Gboard app and tap voice typing. Select your languages and decide if you don't like bad words. Then go to settings > keyboard and languages > show/hide keyboards > make sure Google voice typing is set to automatic. Now swipe everything closed.
1) Now you need to download and install Activity Launcher. Open it and tap the three bars at the top left and select 'all activities.'

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) Scroll down until you see settings. Tap it and scroll until you see 'voice input'. Then tap it.
3) After tapping 'voice input' a screen will pop up with two settings; 'Basic Google recognition' and 'Enhanced Google services.' You need to select 'Enhanced Google services.'
4) When you completed that, stay on that screen and tap the gear to the right of Enhanced Services. Now it brings you back into the voice settings screen.
5) Tap the 'ok Google' detection. Now tap 'from any screen.' Another screen will come up which will allow you to train the Google App with your own voice. Tap next at the bottom right.
6) Now all you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions. You''ll be asked to say 'ok Google' three times. It's best to be in a quiet area so your microphone doesn't record any weird sounds, aside from your voice.
If you use Nova Launcher, go into Nova Settings > gestures and input > and turn on 'ok Google' hot word. Now you should be able to do a voice Google search from ANY screen on your tablet...except the lock screen The app will detect your voice, but the screen has to be unlocked unfortunately. You should also download Google text-to-speech as well. Though you will have to access it using Activity Launcher which will allow you to create a shortcut to it. First you need to bind 'appwidget' to your custom launcher using the steps here. Once you've done that, go into Activity Launcher > all activities > scroll to Google text-to-speech and tap it. Then tap on 'Google TTS voice data' to select your languages. When done, long press on that same item and create shortcut. Yay you're done
I rebooted to recovery, wiped cache, powered down and powered back on. I had to go back into Activity Launcher and re-select 'Enhanced Google services.' This might be due to Amazon apps: SpeechInteractionManager or SpeechUI. Maybe both, but I haven't tried to uninstall them yet because I'm not ready for a reset. If someone could kindly test this for me?
I cannot uninstall or disable Amazon's text-to-speech as it's inside settings and not an APK/package, unless I missed it.

Nah. I've had that long disabled. But perhaps that's right. Perhaps all this needs to be done prior to uninstalling the Amazon/IOVANA apps and services.
You can go here to download the Google Assistant launcher shortcut. Though it's missing a tab called 'your stuff.' So this might be fixed by downgrading to an older version of the Google app. Somehow you have to be able to set a reminder with that missing tab, which would add the Google Assistant in the settings menu of the Google App and supposedly fix this issue. I haven't been able to get that to work, even when launching the Assistant app > productivity > reminders.
Also, some of the stuff I read says to try and keep the Google app ALWAYS on. I have white listed it in my 3rd party optimizer app. Also, it won't hurt to install the Nova Google Companion, which allows the Google App aka Google Now to be integrated into Nova Launcher. This should force the Google app to stay open/running.
I think I got it, but I don't really like it. I had a sneaky suspicion this would end up being the case. *sigh*
Before the I get to the 'bad' news, Please make sure ALL Google related Apps, Play Store, Google Play Services, and Google App are ALL updated to the latest stable versions. You will have to install each update manually. Use App Inspector to check the version numbers of all of the below packages. If you have the latest updates, you're good to go.
Google Play Services: Version 11.5.09 (240-164803921)
Google Play Store: Version 8.1.73.S-all [0] [FP] 165518514
Google App: Version 7.9.21.21.arm
Google Assistant launcher shortcut: Version 1.0.4
Nova Google Companion: Version 1.1 (Make sure to turn on 'ok Google' in Nova settings > Gestures and Inputs).
Once you've done that, you should reboot. When your tablet is powered back on, you should do a walk through of all the steps in the OP. If you want to start at step 3, you can use Activity Launcher to create a shortcut for 'voice input'. Make sure to select 'Enhanced Google Services' then tap the gear to the right of it. If the 'from any screen' is in the off position, switch it back on and go through the steps to retrain your voice.
Now for the bad news. The only way I was able to get all this to work, it is a MUST to download and install Google Home :crying::crying::crying: I'm not a fan of Google Home. As of the moment, aside from this guide, it's really quite useless for me. Don't bother trying to get your devices to be detected. I have yet to be able to have it detect anything at all.
Now 'ok Google' will work from ANY screen. It will activate on the lock screen, but the screen will not unlock automatically. I've successfully activated it from the screens of various apps and from the tablet settings. So far I haven't found a screen, app or function where it doesn't activate.
I'm so happy I got it all to work, I haven't rebooted yet because I don't want to get mad in case it fails when booted back up. If it does fail, you'll definitely have to create a shortcut to 'voice input' for easy access.
Ok so I rebooted. It did not hold. However if you made a shortcut for 'voice input', all you have to do is tap it and reselect Enhanced Google Services. I think @savvytechwinner might be right. All of this will probably work like a charm if all installed and activated BEFORE uninstalling the Amazon IOVANA apps and such.
For some reason, this stopped working when downloading and installing the Google App APK. So i went to the Play Store, and it's NOT updated to the version available via APK. I downgraded and reinstalled from the store and it works. No idea if it will after reboot though. If not, all you should have to do it reactivate it via the shortcut described in the last post.
Any News on OK Google on Fire?
I've tried to enable Ok Google in the App but when I enable it, it tryes to connect to something and then says error connecting.
If I retry several times I get to the screen some times where it says say Ok Google 3 times, but it doesn't react to speech at all like get no input.
I've tried this activity manager thing now but no change on described behavior.

You need to use a Launcher that allows shortcuts, like Nova. Create one for the 'voice input' activity and place on desktop. You have to set voice up through shortcut. Select 'enhanced services'. Tap on the gear. Set it up. When you reboot, you have to re enable enhanced services through the shortcut, then tap the gear.
But isn't that short cut thing only for quick reenabling after reboot?
Or is it needed in general to get it working at all, also when manually enabling the first time?

Unfortunately you need to use the shortcut after each reboot. Tap on it, select enhanced services, then tap the gear, tap the ok Google option, then say out loud ok Google. Should work every time. Though since the last update to the Google app, I've had some difficulties. I would suggest not letting it update until I can figure out why. It's likely Google is preparing to roll out it's assistant on most Android versions, as they plan to do sometime soon.
EDIT: I have nougat on my new phone which has assistant already in the Google app. It's very cool but I have to relearn how to use it because it does a whole lot more than 'Ok Google.' Siri will have some massive competition when it rolls out completely.
But I have taped the gear from inside the activity manager an tried to set it up but it can't connect to whatever.
Do you think it matters the activity manager is called by that shortcut isn't that for quicker access only?

Just for quicker access. Did you train a voice yet?
I managed to get the assistant running on this device.
Pressing home button doesn't works! But OK Google brings up the assistant.

Like I said it allways hangs a while and then says can't connect and don't come to the screen to say OK Google 3 times.
BTW my Fire 7 got also very unresponsiv / slow some apps installed, may be 1 GB Ram just not sufficient, can't recommend, but got it for 27 Euros.
May be I just use it as music player at the stereo, off course voice controll would be nice also.

How To Guide How to fix "Access denied" screen randomly appearing on rooted devices

A couple of days ago my S21 Ultra running G998BXXS5CVIF automatically opened an "Access denied" screen. It was impossible to show which app cause it as it disappeared once you got to the app switcher menu.

I could force the screen by rebooting or by changing the device's language. Using:
Code:
dumpsys activity activities | grep "mFocused"
via adb showed it was com.android.samsung.dkey which opened an activity of com.samsung.android.carkey (com.samsung.android.dkey/com.samsung.android.carkey.ccc.ui.IntegrityCheckFailDialogActivity)
Apparently there was a Samsung Wallet Digital Key update (probably v1.0.08.11) which causes it after a reboot as well as randomly every couple of hours. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixed it for me.
Uninstalling the update isn't a good permanent solution and you can't disable the app without root (meaning you probably don't want to disable it as it maybe could cause other issues). It can affect any device that has a tripped Know. Even formerly rooted devices running stock with a locked bootloader.

Had this error on my rooted S21 Ultra as well, i went back to stock but this error appeared. Thanks to this thread i solved it. But you can delet it without root.
Thers an Windows App called ADB AppControl. there you can simply uninstall Samsung Wallet Key app.
You are unable to use it, so delete it. Nitification never appeared again

You actually can fix it without root: "appear on top" can be toggled which fixes the problem. No need to disable or uninstall it. I tend to not deactivate or remove apps that are non-user removeable as I had bad experiences with spammed logs and high CPU usage due to Java errors
Good point with the Error logs
You can fix it by removing Digital Key app from system/priv-app folder. If you're rooted of course.

Yes, but just disabling "Show on top" is easier and safer. From my past experience speaking: removing system apps that often talk to each other and require certain frameworks inside apps, it may lead to permanent log spam and high CPU usage due to dozens of system calls that go unanswered.
The stock system often isn't designed for core apps being missing. That's why disabling apps is imho better as it hides apps from the system but still allows other apps to use their existing frameworks.
The benefits of "removing" apps e. g. via debloating with Magisk is not worth the issues that could arise. It's especially not worth it if the solution is to not let the app show that message at all
Thank you so much! Had this issue since a few days on my S22 Ultra after updating all Samsung apps via the Galaxy Store and these random popups were driving me crazy.
Freeze samsung wallet digital key from titanium backup is work for me
i have the same problem, i don't know which application is causing this error, how can i remove this error screen. my phone is s21 ultra and i have knox triggered but no root device
Cihazım rootlu değil.
please help me this access denied error keeps popping up on the screen and i can't find which app is causing this error i reset the phone but the result is still the same my phone is android 13 without root solution and help please
You are a lifesaver!
I'm on stock, but I have rooted my phone before so my Knox is tripped. I got this message every time I tried to do anything Samsung-software related. It was worst when trying to use my camera, popping up all the time.

You can follow the instructions without being rooted. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixes it.
@Macusercom i love people like you when sharing even a little bit of knowledge that makes so difference! thanks man!
I just rooted my newly bought Note 20 Ultra 5G today, this message kept popping up. Actually, it started happening as soon as I unlocked the bootloader, even before rooting. It seems that just doing that is enough to trigger it. And no matter what you're doing, it will hijack it to show this message. It was driving me crazy for a few hours until I found this thread. Disabling "appear on top" works 100%. But in a few days it won't matter anymore, I'll be moving to an open source GSI ROM. Then I won't have to deal with messages like this spamming the crap out of the phone.
Samsung just needs to f off, at least we're still buying their devices. They're ours, we should be able to use them how we want. The bastards already have our money, yet they still want to do things like this to us.
Hey guys, please i am having this error since I upgraded my S20 Ultra to Android 13. Plus the Phone des not recognize my sim card anymore. I don't have this Samsung Wallet app neither. Can someone help please ?
Yup same for me, cant find this app.
