I need some help... I have been trying to upgrade my Hyperdrive ROM to rls19 from rls10 (I think, last updated about a year ago) but no matter what I do I cannot get wifi working on my phone.
Here is what I did
1) Used Sunderwear's method with PwnedKitKat to upgrade to 4.4.2
-Wifi did NOT work after switching to 4.3 & ML2 bootloader
-Wifi WORKING on 4.4.2, NC9 bootloader
2) Followed safestrap install instructions for Hyperdrive rls19:
SAFESTRAP USERS MUST UPDATE TO BASE 4.4.2 FIRMWARE BEFORE FLASHING RLS16
1. Download latest Hyperdrive Rom version
2. Reboot into Safestrap
3. Must flash on stock slot with SS 3.72 (I actually used 3.73, could this be the problem?)
4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
6. Install Rom (picking options for AT&T install)
7 Flash super su root zip
7. Flash Modules.zip in found safestrap thread(if needed) (not needed on rls18) [??? So only the Rom & SuperSU are flashed correct?]
8. Reboot (First Boot may take up to 10 mins)
9. Let Phone sit for 10 minutes
10. Reboot again
11. Enjoy!

Problem?: after installing ROM I had no choice but to reboot (phone actually shut off when I tried to say "no" to the reboot), so immediately went back into recovery and flashed SuperSU before phone actually started up
I then had to enter correct APN for AT&T Mobile Data, but my wifi STILL is not working. I cannot even toggle it on, it slides to ON but immediately slides back to OFF
Could someone PLEASE help me out??

You need to flash the NC9 modules before you reboot your phone. The modules are needed to get WiFi and some other things working. I would delete your ROM slot and start over.
With SafeStrap on the S4 Active you will always have to flash modules, even if it says you don't. There are no ROMs built specifically for the i537, so modules are always required.

Well something worked! I got it all working after upgrading to Safestrap 3.75 and creating a new rom slot and letting it settle for almost 2 full days. I kept switching between the stock and HD and tried flashing the masterpatch and maybe a module or two and suddenly today I switched and everything is working!!!

I purchased a Note 3 N900A back in March, and it came rooted running Knoxraid and Safestrap. I felt no need to switch ROMs until a few days ago, when Knoxraid started having issues with me logging into Google services (Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, etc). I decided to install the AT&T S5 ROM port and it's working fine, other than it draining my battery more than it was on Knoxraid. To get Knoxraid off the stock ROM slot in Safestrap and to get the S5 port on, I followed these directions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521899
However, even after reinstalling the Safestrap app and reinstalling the recovery, I cannot boot into it (v3.72). When I rebooted the Note 3 when it was running Knoxraid, there would always be a screen before the boot animation asking if I wanted to boot into Safestrap. However, this doesn't happen anymore. The app says the recovery is installed, but the safe system is not active. When I click reboot to recovery, it doesn't reboot and only says "Safestrap has been allowed permissions from superuser" or something like that and then it says "reboot now". I am unsure of what that means, but when I do reboot, it just reboots the phone normally.
My Note is running 4.4.2 and the model number is SM-G900A (the S5's model number). The baseband version is N900AUCUCMLG and the build number is KOT49H.G900AUCU1ANCE.
Can someone help?

Maybe you should try upgrading your modem to NC2.
Here is a link to the modems. Just follow his instructions and you should be fine.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698464
After that, head here
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572978
And download Safestrap 3.75 and follow his instruction on doing so on that. Here are the step I used
1.Have SU
2.Have BusyBox installed
3.Install Safestrap 3.75 app then install the recovery
DK 4.1, GPE Orange, Xposed, xgel, and other great extras
Thanks, I'll try that.
Just realized that since recovery doesn't work, I can't install the modems.
Since I couldn't install the modems without Safestrap, I only updated the apk to 3.75 but I still can't boot into recovery.

Sent from my SM-N900A
You dont need a recovery to flash modems. You can flash with a custom recovery but since we have a locked bootloader we cant have custom recoveries. But You will use odin to flash it. Meaning you need to hop on your pc and download odin put the files (NC2 modem file) where specified and be sure to have your phone in download mode (holding power, home, and volume down buttons) then you would click the start button
DK 4.1, GPE Orange, Xposed, xgel, and other great extras
Sorry, I'm kind of a noob, where do I put the modem files? Also, can I check what modem I'm currently on? Thanks
Sent from my SM-N900A
You're on MLG as you have specified with the info above, and here are the steps:
1. Download the desire modem from above. (NC2 in your case)
2. Extract the .zip
3. Boot phone in to download mode by holding Volume Down + Home + Power
4. Open Odin3
5. Click on CP
6. Select xxx_modem.tar.md5
7. Click Start.
DK 4.1, GPE Orange, Xposed, xgel, and other great extras
I updated the modem to NC2 through Odin and now the SS version is 3.75 but I still can't boot into Safestrap, do you have any other ideas? Thanks for your help thus far
Did you actually install busy box by opening the app and click install or just download it from the play store
It's actually installed
I would suggest you go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715 and go back to jb and start over or you can go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54179016 to get as close to official kk with root and try safestrap agian
Do you have busybox installed?
DK 4.1, GPE Orange, Xposed, xgel, and other great extras
Yes
Hi Guys,
My 900A was running with S5 (Update 4) ROM and Safetrap 3.72 but I decided to try Biggins ROM. I didn't like the interface so I tried another one, RenMar's ROM 1.22.
Wiped my data as usual, loaded the ROM. Successfully updated. Restart the phone and... nothing. I don't see the usual screen from Safestrap but instead, Android recovery with the little android on its back.
It's giving me choice only to apply updates or to wipe data/cache. Odin doesn't work. I can connect to it for about 5~6 seconds by pressing Volume Up at startup but then, it restart and goes back to the little android.
At the top of the screen, I have :
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H.N900AUCUCNC2
What I did wrong? Reading the posts, should it be because I tried to "downgrade"? I tried to upload back the S5 (Update 4) ROM. But, of course, it didn't work since you are reading this.
I still have my backup from Safestrap but... can load to Safestrap. Is there a genius who can help me asap. You know what it's like without your phone.
Thanks for any help.
Your on nc2 so that mean your on kit Kat rom n you should install safe trap 3.75 which is for kit Kat rom
FireKat V14 infuse with MegaPower
Knowing that, what should I do to reactivate my phone?

If you had read through the posts in the renmar thread then you would have noticed that there was an issue with the ROM and that many other people ended up in the same boat as you are in now (including me).
You will need to ODIN NC2, then root with towelroot and install safestrap (and busybox I believe). Then you can reboot to safestrap recovery and use your backup.
Here is the link to get to ODIN NC2.
Happy flashing.
Thanks A LOT SAPPS to get me back on track. Those files made the trick. Really appreciated.
FlashFire - Play BETA - PREVIEW
1. Join the G+ community using the same Google account as you're using for Play on your phone/tablet Here.
2. Sign up to receive the BETA versions from Play Here.
- Use the link provided after sign-up to download the app
With the amazing work by @Chainfire we are blessed with a what seems to be almost perfect replacement for SafeStrap. Yes, this is still in Beta and you should go into this expecting to soft brick your phone every time when flashing something with this. That's why we need some brave souls to test the limits of FlashFire for our poor device.
If you would like to help contribute to see what we can flash with this application here are a couple tutorials on flashing by @muniz_ri
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-update-to-g900aoca-5-0-keeproot-t3076803
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...-to-enable-native-tethering-g900aoc4-t3078561
If you come across anything that you can flash from the smallest things or even ROMs that you have found compatible please share the knowledge here and I will try to put it in an index that others can see through this beta testing and early phase of Android Lollipop for the G900A.
ROMs that have been confirmed to be flashed and working:
G900A_OC4 5.0 Stock Rooted Android Lollipop by @muniz_ri
Miscellaneous things that have been confirmed to be flashed and working:
Native Tethering by @muniz_ri
300 Fonts for Lollipop and KitKat by @nitol
Titanium Backup's update.zip file
Remote Play Installer
Notes:
If your device stays at the black screen when you try to flash something simply pull the battery out. Then, boot into recovery and wipe the cache partitions. That should allow you to boot your device again after failure.
If you find yourself in a boot loop and downgrading back to NCE you can restore your 5.0 backup while on 4.4.2 (if you made one like you should have) by following my tutorial in the following link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60095108&postcount=21
Here is what I know so far about FlashFire's capabilities on locked bootloader devices:
- Will run on Android v4.x.x/5.0.x.
- Will not trip your Knox Warranty Flag.
- Will flash ROM's (use "flash .zip or ota" option).
- No AROMA installer ROM's.
- Caution! FF flashes to the boot partition, i.e. flashing custom kernels will result in soft brick!
- You can drop a Full Odin .tar or .zip file containing the raw images onto your device and it will flash system, kernel, cache, and recovery (will not flash modem, non-hlos, or bootloader) (use "flash firmware package" option).
- You can flash the remaining partitions via a .zip at the same time or via your PC using Odin.
- Flashes .tars with unsigned images, e.g. system.img.ext4, modem.bin. (use "flash firmware package" option).
- You can also flash individual (un-.tar'd) images, e.g. recovery.img, boot.img.
- Flashes .zip files, e.g. mod's, SuperSu Update.zips, etc (use "flash .zip or ota" option).
- Makes Backups of and Restores all partitions.
- Wipes partitions.
- Injects Root.
I will add here as I test and learn more.
Also want to add a note of caution....if you are a noob and don't have much experience with these things don't rush in. Best to sit back until safe and responsible guides are created. I for one am not at all sympathetic to those that don't take the time to read and understand before jumping in.

One of my questions about FlashFire is will it work on encrypted phones? My work phone is Verizon GS5 and SafeStrap would not work because of my encryption, so I'd be very interested in updating that phone without losing root if it will work. Thanks for all your work!
I attempted to flash Alliance ROM 7.1 from the International Forums.
My Steps:
1. Downgrade to NCE
2. Root
3. SuperSU
4. Install FlashFire
5. Set up FlashFire in the following order;
- Wipe
- Flash Partitions and Bootloader
- Flash Alliance ROM
Everything looked to be working perfectly, but it was getting stuck on the second boot screen. Going to try it again, but after I finish installing Stock Rooted 5.0 again. Maybe it will work then. Only one way to figure out.
Great thread. I'll have a deodexed build up in the next few days then start adding mods and working on other things

Tried to flash Allience in zip/ota and after it wipes it says that it is installing the .zip file for a second then it stops and reboots. Could this be a bug from FlashFire or the ROM not compatible?
Maybe try a dirty flash of the ROM?
I grab a stock ROM directly from G900F, make G900A boot.img and system.img.ext4 into tar.md5. Flash as package in FireFlash along with G900A_OC4_Stock_Partitions_wOA1_BL.zip. Works out pretty well. Just need to disable KNOX with Titanium Backup (for some reason SuperSU doesn't detect KNOX being present) and use Root Explorer to get csc through.
However haven't figured out how to enable VoLTE yet.

Do you have SQLite Editor? Maybe VoLTE can be implemented though it.

@Nyxerosoir It's not that the option that is not there. It is just I am not able to enable it (grayed out) or it says "VoLTE is not supported by your current software version. Contact customer service for more details." if I try to enable it on quick settings.

A general principle to keep in mind is when flashing ROM's at the very least the kernel needs to match the system, i.e. 5.0 system requires the G900A Stock 5.0 kernel, 4.x system requires the G900A Stock 4.x kernel. The matching G900A Stock non-hlos will likely also be required in order for the ROM to work correctly.
I finally managed to get the font package by @nitol to work. The first time I ended up with a bootloop, but then I tried wiping dalvik and cache and flashing. Worked like a charm! Updated it in the OP for the index.

Greetings, all. I'm a big fan of using Xposed modules for my phone, especially YouTube Adaway but since I upgraded via kdz to 5.0.2 this evening I can't get Xposed to run even after reboot using the apk found in the Xposed lollipop thread. I tried to check the log files to be able to post the output here but it won't read those either. Has anyone been able to get this to work and if so, how? Any help is greatly appreciated as the main reasons I root is for ad blocking and titanium backup

My bootloader is still locked so to my knowledge there's not a way to flash a zip without a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM and the like). Maybe I read the thread wrong and you had to both flash the zip and install the apk
Edit: Yes, that is correct, I read it wrong. The zip must be flashed for the framework to install. Is there a way to flash a zip without a custom recovery? This is the first phone I've had with a locked bootloader, all the other ones I just installed a recovery from here and ran/modded it

The L90 of D415 has a unlocked bootloader by deafult, I never unlocked mines and flashed recovery, Just flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/recovery-twrp2-7-1-0lgl90w7xxshoxx-t2826150 using Flashify, download the img and open Flashify and select flash recovery then select that image and in that app you should be able to reboot to recovery to flash the xposed zip. Since I've never tried it I dont know how well xposed runs on stock lollipop remember to backup.

Thank the gods for that then! I am leaving tomorrow on a trip and need my phone fully functional for the duration (hooray GPS) so just to be safe I'm going to hold off on flashing the custom recovery until I get back on Monday and will also flash the Xposed framework then as well and report back. Thanks for the help! I will update this thread after flashing just in case others are looking for this to say whether or not it worked.
Hello,
I was able to get xposed running well on 5.0.2. However i didnt flash stock kdz, I flashed a modified stock ROM found in the development section (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/rom-l90-d415-lollipop-xtreme-v1-0-4-25-t3092813)
After flashing the ROM as described in the link above, i rebooted to recovery. I then flashed the xposed zip file. After that, I wiped cache and dalvik cache (VERY IMPORTANT to avoid any storage errors). Finally I did a normal boot, and it installed perfectly. Hope this helps! Best of luck my friend
Sorry for late response
Turns out my boot loader was in fact unlocked. TWRP through Flashify and then install the zip through there, then install the apk and reboot again. Thank you both so much for the information!

While Xposed installed and worked it also soft bricked my phone in that I kept getting "unfortunately com.android.phone stopped working". Not sure if it's the program itself or the fix memory leak module I installed. Thankfully I had a backup right before I flashed that zip and it appears my phone is working again. Not sure if I will try to install it again without the memory leak patch or not. Thoughts?

Sadly, this also led me to restore my stock, modded KK backup. What I found to be a temporary fix is to wipe cache/data for the phone apk as well as the SIM Toolkit, then reboot. It appears fixed for some time, but then reappears. This problem seems to arise whenever you use wifi or mobile data, and goes away when you switch them off (at least that was my experience).
I think that the main culprit is the Xposed framework itself. I was told by others it's not fully compatible on stock LP for the L90, but still tried it either way. I got too many mods I like to not use Xposed, so I rolled back to kk. If you can live w/o Xposed then try LP with no framework and see what happens. Best of luck!

I think that the main culprit is the Xposed framework itself. I was told by others it's not fully compatible on stock LP for the L90, but still tried it either way. How sad I will continue to monitor the Xposed threads then to see if/when it's fully functional with stock Lollipop.
I was in panic mode with my phone yesterday not working because it happened right when my car decided to also quit working so I saw those possible fixes as well and neither worked. Thankfully I backed up through TWRP right before I flashed the Xposed zip so that save my butt,
Hey guys,
I know I know, I was stupid to try to get this working but I tried and failed. Now I'm just looking to get my old phone back and just leave it at being rooted (with custom recovery installed) and a custom rom. All 3 of these I had successfully done before I installed the framework zip which is where the problems arose.
I'll give you as much information as possible:
Phone: SM-G935F (UK version and on EE network)
Rooted with: CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f
Custom Recovery flashed: twrp-3.0.2-2-hero2lte.img.tar
Other things flashed: UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip
no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip
Custom Rom flashed: KryxxOS-R1.3-G935F.zip
All of these were working and I should have stopped here but with the new Pokemon craze I really wanted Xposed installed to use the modules for it however massively regret it. I wish to get back to this point.
Zip used for Xposed: xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip
Phone initially wouldn't do anything apart from show a battery (not charging (grey icon with lightening in it)) icon when connected to power. And it would ONLY do something when booting into download mode allowing me to go into it. It seemed the custom recovery was no longer working. I then tried everything, flashing back all Stock firmware for my model using ODIN and correct files for my phone (G935FXXU1APF2_G935FEVR1APE2_EVR), that didn't work. Even when installing only AP, all 4 using first HOME_CSC in the CSC and then using all 4 using the CSC file in the CSC. Then I tried using Smart Switch's recovery system, this failed also. Then I remembered hmmm, I can try to reflash my custom recovery using Odin. That WORKED. I thought great now I can do something and sure enough I could wipe my phone and access my files on my phone again when rebooted. After the reboot I tried just re-flashing the SU, the no-verify and the custom ROM thinking it would take me back. It still didn't boot. Black screen nothing. The last thing I attempted was to flash the Xposed Framework uninstaller and used this zip : xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64. I didn't know what this asci files were so I didn't flash them? After flashing the uninstaller, I again flashed SU, no-verify and the custom ROM. Nothing. Still nothing. However...whilst I was typing this, because my phone was connected to my PC and not stuck in DL mode or anything, it's now randomly come up with a battery charge. 3% so far but I want to wait until its higher before I risk trying to turn it on. Could it have been a dead battery all along whilst trying to fix?
I'd appreciate your help even if its to clarify that the battery seems to be the problem. I'll keep you posted with it throughout the night but if it gets sorted tonight it means I don't have to go into the city tomorrow to buy a fix. Thanks to all who post. Ask if you need anymore information.
Chris
