I'm having issues with this app. I tried almost everything. I had an older version months ago that use to work. Can someone help me out?

It depends on the Rom Build version you have in your device. Try Saferoot here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
If you succeed then you have to use Safestrap available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441441
DO NOT INSTALL custom rom over the stock rom after rooting because it will trip Knox flag.
I have succeeded in rooting my S4 i9505 4.3 with Saferoot, and then Safestrap to install a custom rom alongside the stock rom.
Good luck!!

I don't think so. It think you have got one of the newer builds. You should ask the forum members in the Saferoot thread.
I used this - www.kingoapp.com - seems to have worked so far. I was quite impressed with how easy it was, it's a one click kind of deal.
Had "SuperSU has stopped" pop up once, but updated it and has been all good so far.
Have installed Root Browser and CWM and both work as they should.

[Q] KK 4.4.2 update

Hello everyone,
With the recent root method on 4.4.2 for the note 3 would it be possible for me to preform a factory reset on my device and take the OTA 4.4.2 update and then towelroot?
My device has xposed framework and was rooted with kingro.
Thanks for any input
If you're on 4.3 and were previously rooted, you will have to do this or else the update will fail at ~27%:

It's not worth it. Even with root Jellybean blows KitKat out of the water. Stay on Jellybean.

What makes you say that?

1. There are more ROM options for Jellybean
2. I ran the official OTA NC2 rooted with a ton of stuff frozen/removed for a few days and battery life was nowhere near as good as stock rooted MJ5/NB4 with the same amount of stuff frozen/removed
3. The Jellybean version of Safestrap supports ROM slots and seems more stable in general than the KitKat version
4. With Jellybean you have the option of jumping back and forth between Jellybean and KitKat

Alliance v8.1 back to Stock Rooted Lollipop

Hey guys, I think I've made a huge mistake. I manually swapped some files in order to get AllianceRom v8.1 from the international forum working on my ATT S5, but it didn't contain root. I flashed the rom the same way that I would have flashed Twisted Lollipop as the discussion in the general section is going. Can I still get root back/ flash to rooted lollipop?

Never mind guys, I fixed it. I Odined back using the NCE version that muniz_ri posted. So happy right now.
So alliance is working on att s5 now as well? I just flashed twisted today but I'm a flashoholic. What needs to be done to maintain root?
If I had to guess, just flash the SuperSU binaries from Chainfire's post through Flashfire and it should work.
I'm at work (for att lol) but I might try and flash it tonight. I'll post back on my results
Sounds like you still probably had root, if you had installed superSU from the playstore you wouldve been fine.

Lollipop upgrade?

I'm still using Kit Kat bc last time I checked Xposed and Nova Launcher weren't working properly on lollipop at the moment. Does anyone know if those issues are resolved? Is there anything else I should know about?

There are a few things to keep in mind. To keep root you need to use flashfire from rooted kitkat and flash the oc7 files. Also you have to use the xposed custom built for samsung lollipop by arter97. Make sure to get the snapdragon version. Xposed is working great for me no issues. I use nova prime and also have no issues ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE USING ODIN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Luckily you can flash back to kitkat and start over if you have a problem.

Flash Galaxy S5

Hi, I'm from Argentina. I just bought an AT&T S5 second hand. The fact that I'm from Argentina means I can't update the freakin' phone. My firmware version is G900AUCU2ANG3. So, can I downgrade to the version in sammobile (G900AUCU1ANCE) to root? I think so, but please, enlight this poor idiot who didn't now this version had so much tweaks (the damn locked bootloader). Then I will root (with Towelroot). After this, can I flash this version or another one and mantain root? Will I be able to update via OTA anytime or never in the lifetime? And will I be able to update to Marshmallow if it we get it? Thank you for reading and a possible reply. And damn AT&T.
PS: It's not the first time I flash a phone. I've done it a lot of times. But they were less complicated (S II, S III, Defy Plus)
I'm pretty sure you can root ng3. Just search how to root. As long as you on 4.4.2 you should be fine

Thanks, I've found the tutorial. And afterwards will I be able to get anymore updates, like Marshmallow? I think no one knows, right?

No MM available for this phone yet. If you keep root the highest you can go is Custom 5.0. There is an UNrooted 5.1 thread, I believe it keeps bootloader OA1 to allow downgrade. If you try to step up updates beyond that it will make the phone unrootable. So decide wisely. I was on NG3 and just used the Odin tar to downgrade to NCE and used towelroot to go to the 5.0 keeproot. But am now on TMS5 3.0.

There's even a 6.0 MM CM 13.0 Rom. So yes there is plenty of CM or other custom ROM but with a locked bootloader the s5, or active in your case, will not be able to accept any. There are only custom rom with OA1 Bootloader based on 5.0 or lower. A bootloader from OTA update to 5.0 or up prevents root.

Oh I've given up hope lol. But you told OP there was no MM. I figured if he's rooted, he should be able to flash CM 13.

Yeah, g900a is locked down to not allow any cm roms but also not cm 13.0. If there was a possibility I would have heard by now. Now if it was a g900v they unlocked their bootloader to change the device to a developer device. Which will allow TWRP recovery and CM, RR.

Ended up flashing Lollipop 5.1.1, despite the fact that you can't root in it. Copied my WhatsApp messages by other way. The phone runs smoothly. Thank you all for your help.
