When I try to flash any ROM that has M7SPR in the title, I get an error saying that my phone is the M7. But I have sprint and I am trying to get M7SPR becuase M7 ROM's make me lose data.
Background data:
M7_WLS
SuperCID
S-OFF
MID 20000
Basically my questions are:
1. What would cause my M7SPR to think it is a M7?
2. Is there a workaround to keep LTE with GSM ROMs?
3. If there is no workaround for the #2, how do I get my phone to flash M7SPR ROMs again where I can keep my at least my sprint data intact?

How are you flashing gsm Roms on this phone. They have different partitions.
I think you dun goofed your partitions. Try RUUing to the latest Sprint firmware and never flash a GSM ROM again.
I flashed a stock sprint RUU then while in bootloader, reflashed twrp 2.8, then flashed slimkat m7spr, now if I went back into twrp and tried to flash any other m7spr rom, I get a failure saying that this device is an m7 and this rom is for m7spr...

Your boot loader is outdated. Current is 1.57. Baseband is off, supposed to be 1.29(edit: I pulled this number from my butt, I meant 1.01) i think. Version is supposed to be 5.05. CID - set it to the default sprint, if that's not it.

Have you got a url for the baseband? This is the only one I could find for this specific phone; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406330 and they seem to be slightly outdated.

why would you super cid a sprint phone, it's pointless, because you can't flash GSM roms on a cdma phone, period.

I guess i might have overlooked it, since it was 1.xx.2 looking quickly I thought it was no change. I have not changed the cid. From what I was reading that is considered supercid, which is supposed to bypass carrier specific ROMs. Making it much more difficult to brick.

Would you considering trying to change back to SPCS_001? (I think that's the right one)
I'm pretty sure changing CID doesn't allow you to flash GSM roms. Super CID only applies to GSM phones.

I put my cid back to SPCS_001 and tried another M7SPR rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...t/5-0-lollipop-unofficial-cm12-m7spr-t2943941 this one specifically) and I get the same message:
This package is for device: m7spr, m7wls: this device is m7.
I also just tried the aokp (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268789) same thing...
This is the only rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ock-rooted-5-05-651-2odex-11-15-2014-t2941907) that actually works, rather frustrating.

@BD619 any idea how this catch meachanism works? Like, what does it read? Seems like everything is set back to default for this one.
Actually did you run the RUU.exe (as opposed to flashing the firmware)? Or try to flash the latest stock ROM (4.4.3, 6.09)?

The recovery is the latest from the twrp team straight from their site. I did try and revert back from 2.8 to 2.6 but it hung up at the htc loading recovery screen. From that hangup I reflashed the 2.8 I was using just to get something moving. I will look into the changing twrp and try something from there.
The MID 20000 is a reference to; modelid: PN0720000 to indicate that I was in fact using the sprint variant of this phone.
Thank you for the assistance.

Hello friends. First of all, I apologize if I am not very clear, but I have little knowledge of English, and to be faster I'll use a translator...
Since about a week ago, my HTC One Developer Edition is showing me errors with WiFi and Bluetooth. These are off steadily even when in use. At first I thought it was a failure of the last installed ROM (ARHD 40.1), but I've tried others such as CM11 without installing any mod and restore my latest nandroid backup, but I have had the same result.
Apart from changing the ROM all I remember doing is to update the firmware, so yesterday I upgraded to the new firmware version to see if solved, but still follows the failure. Do not think it's a hardware failure because the mobile is not second hand, has not suffered any drop and was always working perfectly, so I ask your help and attached the information that shows the phone using fastboot getvar all command if serving them for a diagnosis. Thanks in advance.

Either one will do, they're just slightly different version numbers 1.29.1540.16 and 1.29.1540.3, might as well go for the .16. You'll have to download from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
then you can follow my guide (in my signature), because you need to downgrade hboot to 1.44 separately first, before you can run the RUU. (just the first part about downgrading hboot, the rest of the guide is for people who want to return the phone for warranty)
Also keep S-Off, do NOT go S-On!!!

Yes, but I don't see changes. (Later, I change the "Keep WiFi on during idle" to Always), but just keeps running and then switching off when it want, and when it goes off, just says "activating", infinite loop until I restart.. Same for bluetooth.

Well, without ideas, I sent the phone to HTC America, for guarantee. I had to pay $ 70 shipping because I live in Dominican Republic (No HTC), but after 15 days I received my phone in perfect working (they did not even scratch), and by the way, apparently they changed my camera ... It's not purple!

1- edit your post and remove IMEI and s/n
2- ask whoever quoted you to do the same
3- that RUU is not going to work, because:
......a- you are S-On, and for a downgrade to work you need to be S-Off
......b- the RUU isnt even meant for your model !!!!!
Code:
modelid: PN0713000
cid: T-MOB010
you have MID PN0710000 !!!!
from hboot & radio, your firmware should be 2.24.111.5 (German T-Mobile right?) or close to that, recommend you get S-Off using rumrunner.
so unlock bootloader, get yourself a suitable rom, and achieve s-off using rumrunner.

well kitkat isn't out yet except for the US Dev Edition, but you can try any of the ROMs in the development section, you can use @ClydeB1 Index for a list of different ROMs (and other very useful links) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438026
Since you're now S-Off you can also use latest GPE ROMs (as they require S-Off), and also can flash different firmwares;
I usually use firmwares from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
and radios from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699
Also, at the moment the recommended recovery to use is TWRP 2.6.3.3 http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or TWRP 2.6.3.4 http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul

use at least twrp 2.6.3.3. if you can't remember the name of the rom you are flashing then you don't know what you are doing and I can't help you.
at least with s-off you can restore your phone with any ruu.

Um, there is a difference between "RUU" and "ROM"
Do a quick Google search and when you are ready come back here and we can help some more..

Yeah, still not sure we're communicating here.
If it didn't come from HTC, it's not a RUU.
Have a look at http://androidruu.com/?developer=M7
*Those* are RUU's.
You need to use the right one for your phone. (If your cidnum is unusual, such as HTC_Y13, there may not *be* an official RUU for your phone. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287505)
RUU's nuke all the data on your phone and fix all the partitions (recovery, HBOOT, radio, everything) on your phone, leaving it completely stock.
They need a Windows PC with HTC drivers to run.
What did *you* think RUU means?

i think you should slow down and start reading a bit... maybe a lot.
you have (supposedly):
(bootloader) product: m7_ul
(bootloader) modelid: PN0710000
(bootloader) cidnum: HTC__Y13
not trying to sound condescending, or anything, but if you think the ones you mentioned above are RUUs, then you should seriously do some more research.
some of those don't even look like M7 ROMs, and if you can find a real signed RUU which is deodexed... then WOW.

you can find m7 ruu on www.htc1guru.com or androidruu.com
you are s-off which mean you can flash both signed or decrypted ruu.
ruu.exe are flashed from windows OS. You plug your phone with usb cable and you launch the ruu.exe
ruu.zip can be flashed from any OS when your phone is in RUU mode (fastboot oem rebootRUU) using windows command prompt, linux terminal or mac terminal.
To flash a ruu it must be intended for your phone CID and MID
With S-ON (not your case) you also need a ruu that is signed and same or higher version of your phone. + bootloader must be locked/relocked
With S-OFF (your case) you can flash any ruu that match your CID/MID even if its a downgrade and bootloader can be locked/unlocked/relocked
Now the ruu you should use is this one: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_k44_sense55_mr_htc_europe_4-19-401-9_r_radio_4a-23-3263-28_10-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
This is the latest version for your phone and it match your MID (PN0710000) and your CID (HTC__Y13)
stays s-off and bootloader unlocked unless you send your phone for warranty repair.
I need a T-Mobile or international stock rom sense 5.5 KitKat to to flash on my M7. I now have the AT&T unlocked and rooted but I want to make it a fully functional tmobile device with ota updates and mms and stuff (cause as of now mms don't work, but everything else does. It's a well known issue)
So of you could point me in the direction of a stock sense 5.5 KitKat rom I'd be very great full.
PS: I don't want lollipop. I don't like it. Personal preference.

Is your APN correctly set? Most of the time, MMS issues are only caused by bad APN. Also caused by add blocking apps like AdblockPlus.

Post the output of ''fastboot getvar all', don't post your imei / serialno.
Btw may I ask you why do you want to have ota update support if you want to stay on Kitkat?

Ok. Thank you. I have tried as many apn configurations as i could find to fix the mms/group text but nothing works. I dont have ad block either. Here's the output of "fastboot getvar all":

and as for the why of wanting otas but wanting to stay on kitkat, I guess it is just for my own sanity, knowing that the rom I have has the capability of recieving an ota is something I'd prefer, but I guess I could settle for a stock rom on the latest kitkat.
Thanks for your help (and sorry i took so long to reply)

Yep, you'll need s-off if you want to flash a t-mob ruu because you will need to change your AT&T CID to T-Mobile and your MID to PN0710000. Btw why the MID (modelid) line is blank? It should currently be PN0712000...

Ok thanks. It's blank because I thought that was one of the things you told me not to post, sorry. So after getting s-off and flashing the t-mobile ruu, will I still be rooted? Also, where might I find a t-mobile ruu for KitKat? Or a similarly stock rom, because I just mainly want to get rid of the AT&T
Thank you

After flashing a ruu, you will not have root anymore, you'll have to re-flash a custom recovery and supersu binaries.
Alright so I have been wanting to change my htc one (802w/dual sim) from android 5.0.2, back to 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 though I want a full stock/htc like software of the android version.
I found some here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159
I've got a few questions though as I am a bit afraid I might harm my phone (saw some posts that some phones might break down and not function again..)
First thing about the RUU and firmware, I figured some stuff but please correct me if I'm wrong:
I will be downloading Android 4.2.2 RUU version: 2.19.401.1 - then OTA update version: 2.41.401.1-2.19.401.1 (should be still android 4.2.2 according to the collection thread)
And to be able to get to android 4.4.2 (might not need 4.4.3) I will download OTA 4.21.401.5-2.41.401.1
Well, is there anything wrong with the OTA versions or RUU?
Also, when I get to Android 4.2.2, can I just mainly check for updates over "Software updates" and will I get the updates from HTC? Or they will prevent it as I installed a *custom* rom?
And for the main thing, please link me any tutorial or guide (in-depth will be appreciated.. would like to know what I'm doing) to install the rom and any other files if needed.
Sorry for the long post, have a good day!
Regards,
Matt.

You can't do what you said above. x.xx.401.x RUU is not for your cid (HTC__J15). You can only flash RUU that are designed for your CID and MID and since your phone is S-ON, you can't downgrade using a RUU. You'll either need to S-OFF the phone so you can flash an old M7CDUG x.xx.402.x RUU or use old costom roms.

I did some searching and I found this RUU
Code:
www htc1guru com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_k44_sense55_mr_htc_europe_4-19-401-9_r_radio_4a-23-3263-28_10-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
(I can't send outside links)
According to the site it's for CID HTC_J15 and modelid PN0710000
Does it mean I can flash it even though it's x.xx.401.x? Also if I can, can you please send a guide about how to S-OFF the phone?
Thanks again.

No you can't, this RUU is simply not for your phone, not even for the same variant.
To flash a ruu on a s-on phone:
The ruu must match your CID number. Yours is HTC__J15 ---> OK
The ruu must match your MID number Yours is PN0771000 this RUU is for PN0710000 --> NO
The ruu must match the firmware base version. Yours is .402 this RUU is .401 ---> NO
The ruu must be same or newer than the current firmware version installed. Yours is 7.xx.xxx.x , this ruu is 4.xx.xxx.x so it's a downgrade, can't downgrade with s-on --> NO
The ruu must match your variant. Yours is M&CDUG --> The ruu you want to flash is for M7_UL ---> NO
The bootloader must be locked or re-locked
If only on of the above condition isn't respected, the ruu won't flash... And even if you could achieve s-off, #5 will always cause problem. You can only use RUU for M7CDUG variant
