IMPORTANT!
Things you'd want to know:
- Flashing takes a while. Up to 5-10 minutes. So be patient, it's not frozen.
- Gapps DRASTICALLY reduces performance. I haven't worked out why or if there's anything that can be done about it. EDIT: Seems to be better with the latest build.
- Booting takes an even longer while. Up to 5-20 minutes at the boot animation. So be patient, it's not frozen x2. Fixed
- Daily functions (except for what's listed below) should work fine.
20150623 Build:
- 5.1.1 now
- Fixed in-call mute
- More SELinux rules, RIL should work fine for everyone now. If it doesn't, see instructions underneath the download link.
- 3 months worth of stuff here and there in the main Omni codebase heh. Not gonna go through all of that. Sorry about the wait.
20150322 Build:
- Updated SELinux and enabled it: Please let me know if there are any issues that weren't previously present! Here's also the exact same kernel with SELinux set to permissive just in case: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByKvaiftk0pbTzM4VHh5WllEMkE/view?usp=sharing
- Fixed up long press home button for recents menu
- Add back Samsung specific camera parameters
- A/V fixes
- Added back Samsung extended AGPS support (Again)
- Security fixes
- Added silent mode
- Changed the power menu layout/style
20150316 Build:
- Updated to Android 5.1! Lots of performance improvements and bug fixes
- Note: GAPPS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. See the new GApps link. In your recovery, make sure you wipe /system, and then flash the new build, and then flash the new gapps.
- Home button wake is now put under Settings -> Buttons
20150228 Build:
- Fixed up DRM playback (Netflix should work now), huge thanks to @stargo for that!
- Performance tweaks
- Fixed Multiuser FC
- Add back Samsung Extended AGPS support
- Bunch of updates over the past month
20150125 Build:
- Bunch of updates over the past month (eg. Browser redesign, customizable hardware keys, etc.)
- Fixed cell signal display
- Updated low memory killer (LMK) and enabled KSM, should result in better performance
- Toggling flashlight doesn't kill the camera now, but flashlight still doesn't work. Looking into it
- Enabled dex pre-optimization, so I'm doing the optimizing at compile time on my desktop rather than you guys at boot on your phones. Drastically reduced boot time
- Added back STK support
20141224 Build:
- We're at Android 5.0.2 now
- PerformanceControl should work now
- Advanced reboot options
- Fixed vold and data more properly
- Bunch of other stuff that I can't remember atm. It's been a while heh.
20141130 Build:
- Fixed Mobile data
- Fixed camera
- Fixed video playback in some circumstances
- Enabled extended font support
- Mainline changes
- Latest version of SuperSU does work with this build, I checked.
- Other stuff that I can't remember
What's still broken:
- Flashlight quick setting toggle does not work
- Cell signal display is stuck at 2 bars, the actual cell signal works fine. Fixed
- Sometimes the boot animation doesn't play; Does not affect usage
- Adding an additional user triggers a soft reboot, but doesn't affect usage afterwards. Investigating. Fixed
- Camera does not work currently Fixed
- Mobile data doesn't connect Fixed
- You tell me, that's how we get things improved around here

Getting basic stuff like camera, data, bluetooth are important. You need to flash SuperSu binaries first to get root .
link: http://download.chainfire.eu/630/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.27.zip
Always have omni stable or slim stable build, in case of system wipe, transferring the file will be difficult without an SD Card..

I installed omni .... it was running ok when i flashed supersu it restarted automatically when power button is pressed (to lock) !! Just wanted to let u know!!

GAPPS: For now, open gapps unofficial, also courtsey @razorloves - DOWNLOAD GAPPS
OpenGapps: Not Supported anymore, use @razorloves gapps.
First time installing crDroid to your Pixel, or coming from another ROM:
**NOTE** As you probably know by now, marlin and sailfish are weird. You must be on TWRP 3.2.0.0 to install this! 3.2.1.0 does not allow ROM installation. 3.2.0.0 does not encrypt properly, so you must remove your PIN/password before booting to and / or installing it. These installation instructions will assume you already know and have done that.
**NOTE** You are also able to use 3.2.1.-2 (3.2.0.0 or 3.2.1.-2)(Nothing in between)
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip & vendor img to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
5) Flash TWRP ***If you do not do this, you will lose TWRP!***
6) Reboot back into TWRP
7) Flash vendor image
7a) Mount vendor partition, navigate to vendor/overlay and delete that folder
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk 16.2
If you like music like I do and want to make it better, see post #3 for instructions on installing ViPER4Android.
Instructional Video
I Apologize about video quality, but this will help get you an idea of the steps involved.
Steps are the same for Marlin and Sailfish. Use corresponding files for device.
https://youtu.be/mmxIrp7BiRk
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES
None that stand out, If you find something that is consistently reproducible, do so and pull a log. Without logs, we cannot fix the bugs. Please report any that you run into, assuming you have tested on a clean install. :good:
NOTE ON SUBSTRATUM
We currently do not have substratum commits in the ROM because they have not updated their repos on git for Oreo. As such, if you want to use Substratum, you will be doing so by allowing root and using legacy mode. you -must- make sure whatever theme you try supports 8.1. Even some that say they support Oreo may only work with 8.0, not 8.1. I'd recommend the following:
Suggestion: whenever installing themes, remove your pin/password so you can get TWRP to mount data.
If you get in a FC/bootloop situation, boot to TWRP, mount data and remove the file /data/system/overlays.xml.
That should allow you to boot and uninstall the overlays without reinstalling anything.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files
Thanks to:
- @razorloves - Without his device tree and kernel bringup to work from, crDroid for marlin & sailfish would not be possible at all. Apart from the ROM development itself (for which @neobuddy89 bears the largest burden, in addition to the great developers of LineageOS itself), credit for this ROM being able to even build goes to razorloves.

I already said it in my post above, but feel it needs repeating. HUGE thanks to @razorloves , without whose marlin bring-up this ROM would still not be built.
Also thanks to @almightysiman for confirming the ROM functions on sailfish.
Side note: You won't find BETA2 for sailfish. I skipped it so sailfish & marlin were on the same version number.
*** NOTE - We cannot actively support audio (or any other) mods. I'm posting this because it works for me and I use it personally. This is not supported by our ROM team. Only the ROM / vendor / gapps and nothing else is supported by the crDroid development team. ***
If you like music as much as I do and prefer to use Viper4Android, install it as follows:
0) This requires Magisk; install Magisk 15.x (whatever is most recent)
1) Using a root explorer (I prefer FX File Explorer), navigate to /system/system/priv-app/AudioFX and rename AudioFX.apk to AudioFX.BAK. Reboot.
2) Install three Magisk modules:
a) Magisk SELinux Permissive Script (Get it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magisk-selinux-permissive-script-t3577549)
b) Busybox for Android NDK v1.27.2 by osm0sis (Get it from Magisk downloads in the Magisk app)
c) ViPER4Android FX v2.8 by ahrion, zackptg5 (Also from Magisk downloads)
3) Reboot.
4) Enjoy your better music!
Awesome! :fingers-crossed:

You have to mount vendor (TWRP/Mount/Vendor, back), then go to Advanced / file manager/ navigate to /vendor/overlay. Choose delete, swipe right.
Gotta say, this is, so far, the perfect flashing experience in Oreo ROMs. I had no force-closes at setup, and no issues with the flashing process. So far, it has been great. Gonna use it for a few days, but as of now, this looks like my daily driver. Thanks again for this!

Are GAPPS required to avoid problems? FC's bootloops etc. Just wondering cause I don't run gapps anymore and know that some of our oreo roms need GAPPS to function properly

Did you delete the overlay folder from vendor?
The dark theme auto switcher was disabled by our Dev. It was causing issues. I'm not surprised it didn't switch for you, but definitely am surprised it was enabled at all.

Regarding RR oreo , i tried today first it was giving multiple errors as in this is made only for some devices , so i took daedrozas help and got it booted , till now i wasn't facing any issue but now suddenly the recent buttons not opening recents, lockscreen isnt showing up and i cant expand qs panel . Just providing feedback ! And a huge thanks chippa for porting RR Oreo for us .
Edit: now i dirtyflashed the rom again and seems like things are back to normal , the only thing i would like is the battery backup ,its real bad and charging just takes forever. The bootanimation is just black screen, it will make people think that the rom isn't booting.
Reporting Issues of RR oreo
I recently did clean flash of RR oreo v 6.0.0 on my Sony Xperia ZR. In addition I flashed gapps unofficial and SuperSU 2.8. The issue Currently I am facing Phone is not charging in online and offline mode. Camcorder of Google cam is not working which shows error on switch. I sent u my logcat. PL rectify above issues with addition if encounter in logcat.
Ok I reflashed again this rom without SuperSU 2.8 which fixed my charging issue but camera camcorder popup error with use of snap camera or by use of Google camera without snap camera installed. Also still camera doesn't work smoothly (hangs on first use and works on second use without phone restart). Camera doesn't give portrait view(Portrait capture shot show in landscape).
A new issue in online streaming videos showing green color on play.. watch out attachment for details.

I'm using twrp 3.2.1.1
first , i do full wipe ( dalvik cache, cache, system, data, internal storage)
then, i flash the rom and gapps 8.1 then reboot.
I always used this way to flash roms and it worked for all previous roms (5.1 - 7.1.2)
i tried the reset factory but that didn't work too.
What's the problem?

Second, before going ahead do backup of all data present on your sdcard. Press format button and type YES command in TWRP to begin complete data removal which will wipe all sdcard data too. It will show around 15mb size. Keep in mind that you shouldn't keep previous data on sdcard which is in use for daily task.
Third, Use pendrive ( SanDisk USB cum mini USB)or other sdcard storage to flash ROM, Gapps and misc zips.
Fourth, once you installed all zips, power off your phone and remove pendrive or other sdcard prior to first boot.
When you boot into rom on first setup you will find sdcard is unsupported which is need to be setup into portable or internal storage as required.
Try it..

But I have a question, does it support aptX codec? I have at home BT headphones with aptX support, but when I connect it to the phone it's running with SBC or AAC. Any recommendation? Thanks!

Thank you, gonna test tonight
Everything runs well. I always enjoy running custom ROMs based off of Lineage.
There are some skips I've noticed while scrolling in certain apps that cause the device overall to slowdown for a short period of time but that could be numerous things. Not really sure.
Pretty great battery life thus far.
Thanks for a great build!
First official custom rom ..... yes !!!
Good work
Where is performance settungs? My phone is sucking all the battery
Very good build, no lag and no rilevant bug
I have a problem that when I use dark theme in the settings, and that I try to edit the QS tiles, I can barely see the tiles below (the colors are all white). I can't attach screenshot tho, is anyone else facing this problem?

Sometimes flashing GApps again and clearing dalvik/cache fixes the problem.
Other users reported that, after flashing Magisk, the problem went away.

The problem was that I flashed Gapps after I booted up the Rom, after I reflashed the Rom and immediately after flashed Gapps, the problem was solved.
P.s Does anyone know how to activate root? In developer options it appears but only for ADB

i tried three times thinking i missed a step.. it gets you nowhere except exactly back to the same rom you started on. So, that being said and me being persistent/borderline ocd I figured out the way to flash this thing.. it's a mix between flashing 3.2 and 4.0:
- Have OOS 10.3 flashed to both slots!!
- Make sure you're running the latest TWRP
- Boot into recovery
- Flash rom.zip
- Wipe Cache
- FORMAT data
- Reboot to recovery
-flash latest NikGapps (flame gives bootloop) or just use MicroG man! Google Bad!
- Flash Magisk.zip (optional)
-FORMAT data (yes,again!)
- Reboot to system
Those instructions work perfectly.

Dear all,
I have removed and edited some posts to keep this thread on topic. Please be civil when you post your comments, no matter it is a bug report, feature request, or general suggestions. It would be much easier for both developers and users to treat the issue if the feedback was clear.
Thank you.
