Hi everyone
For a very long time I tried to upgrade my s3 mini rom but apparently the store I bought it from, was install their own custom rom so I can't automatically upgrade and also I've getting problems during the root because of the unknown custom rom.
Is there anything I can do?? I really want to root the phone and upgrade the rom but I'm afraid that it will brick my phone because of this rom...
any help???

Ok on my galaxy I9000 gt i have some problems when i plug in kies and want to update it says Name:GT-I9000
Curent version: PDA:JM1 / Phone:LM1 / CSC:KM1
And then: This divice version can not be updated.
A couple of days a go it allways said taht i ahve the newest 1 , now they give me this. I`m a noob when it comes to this so can some1 please help me?
My second problem is that after i installed allot of things on the phone ..games etc.. the latest thing it was "Igo my way" if i close the phone and open it again it stays allot with that "s" on the screen and does nothing, then the media scaner takes ages to scan, then the phone works in frames sometimes and sometimes really fast, sometimes i loose signal too,..any1 know what can be the problem ? But the moust important part is how to fix the update problem cuz that is gone fix it i think. and if i have to do it manualy how do i do it and witch version to install? please be patiance with the explinations , i`m really new to android. ty

Did you flash jm1 through odin or something? If you flash an unofficial firmware, that's what kies will tell you. If you want to be able to use kies to upgrade, you probably need to flash back to a stock firmware

no i havent the phone was stock but i mange to do it ..kies needed upgrade , now i need to sort out the other problems. ty for your reply
Hello everyone,
Just bought an Galaxy S and rooted it and install ICS. first I install the Darkrom 5.5 but after a few days my phone start with a random reboot and I lost my baseband version and he don recognize my Simcard..
then i do a full wipe and reflash the rom the he did well for a few days and now I lost it again
also tried to flash other roms but nothing helped.. someone have a fix or something I could do?

I hade same problem. No baseband , no Imei.
I got all back when I flased to; DarkyRom v 11 android 4.0.4 ICS
hey guys im pretty new to rooting and hacking my phone, and i just flashed a custom rom called Cyanogen 7...something for the p920. but the problem is that everytime i try to install an app the phone reboots itself and cancels the installation. please help!!!!

I am new to XDA-Developers . I'll cut to the chase. I bought a Samsung galaxy ace GT-S5830L. It had 2.3.4 android Gingerbread in it. As I became more interested in android I searched Google to upgrade my phone. At last I found Cyanogen Mod 9 RC1 (4.0.4). I didn't realize then that it was a themed 2.3.4 android. So I installed that ROM by formatting my original stock ROM. I was very happy to have my phone updated. But then I realized that I cant go a day without FM radio, Camera, Video recording etc. So I decided to go back to my stock ROM. I couldn't find any original ROM for my mobile. So I downloaded the MythAce2. I was also charming. But I didn't like the theme. So the I downloaded MIUI expression v1.21. I liked it very much. Even FM radio was working. But FM radio couldn't work without Bluetooth and I couldn't control radio's volume. So I again browsed internet then found a way to flash my ace using ODIN multi downloaded + cooper. I successfully flashed my phone when I used laptop. But my laptop is wasted and I need to flash my ace running on MIUI expression v1.21 Because I cant run app in it. So when I try to flash ace with my desktop, I couldn't done it. Can anyone help my how to do it? I did every steps said in instruction. But it stuck and don't proceed even if it passed half and hour.

Did you installed correct device drivers on your PC? Or Kies?...
On odin you get stuck on AMS download or something similar dont you?...

i am new to all this so please bare with me
i have dug out an old Samsung galaxy s that i want to use as a work phone but it currently has a old darkys ROM installed on it
i need to turn this phone back to factory settings (like out the box) so i can use it as a work phone
is this possible or am i stuck with the darkys ROM and have to use another phone?
i am a total newbie when it comes to phones and computers so as much help as possible will be much appreciated
