It does mention better quality and 96px, dont know what px the default facebook sync is at.
Hi any app or setting or mod to allow us taking pics while recording video like in sgs3 and HTC one x?
I seem to remember there is an app by Sony in the market that does this. Can't remember the name sorry.
Edit.
Its called frame grabber. Let's you grab individual frames and store as pictures.
Not quite what you asked for, but close.

At least on the one x this is possible due to the image processing chip.
There are apps that cqn save frames from video but i dont think its possible without such hardware improvements

But I heard they ics update for galaxy nexus has this tap to take pic option... I think nexus hardware is inferior to note...

Good afternoon XDA!
Having received my N7 yesterday, I didn't get to play with it too much until later on at night. One of the first things I noticed was that the Facebook app on the device is missing many of the main features. I'm not sure if it's a JellyBean issue (as my Galaxy Nexus is CDMA and I haven't modded it to JB yet) or a N7 issue, but there's no way to see someone's Pictures, Info, or Favorites. What I mean is that if you go to someone's profile the only thing visible is their Wall. There's no way to go into the other sections of someone's profile. The only way to see their pictures is if they post them on their walls.
Anyone else notice this? For those that have, if you also have JellyBean on another device does it do it there, as well? I just have no way of knowing if this is a JB issue or a device-specific issue. I can't seem to find any other complaints, which I'm a bit confused by...I understand that this device is extremely new, but a *vast* majority of Android users also spend quite a bit of time on Facebook, so I'd be surprised if nobody had run into this issue before me (or at least made comments on it).
Post thoughts and maybe we can narrow it down!
I'm seeing the same issue. I've heard good things about Friendcaster as a superior replacement so I'd try that.
Friendcaster is a good alternative and in many ways superior to the Facebook app - you can have multiple log ins/accounts and much more responsive than facebook

I have both the Galaxy Nexus on JB and the N7, I can definitely confirm that the FB app is lacking on the N7 especially when going into peoples profiles. However on the Galaxy Nexus it has every single feature that it had on GB and ICS. No idea what the deal is with the N7 version of the app.
Facebook app isn't set up for tablets on JB as far as I'm aware. Give them a bit to update the app and we will see.
No your wrong, its not the fact its a tablet on jelly bean, its the fact its a tablet.
My transformer prime has the exact same problem and its on ics

Early day's? The problems been there Fot every android tablet, facebook app sucks ass and they don't seem to care. Friendcaster whilst not being as pretty gives tonnes more functionality

Friendcaster is light years ahead of FB app. Try it for free then get the ad free version. You'll thank me.

Just my 2 cents, but FB apps in general on all devices are poorly optimized. One of the few things i'd rather view with a browser.
FB for Phone on Tablet
Is there a way to install the FB app that runs on smartphones on the N7?

That's what you have installed. The app adjusts itself based on being on a tablet or phone.

You can't interact with people that disable third party access on FB when using Friend caster. Just a heads up.

Is there any difference between the Pro version and the Free, other than ads? $5 is not worth it for me for ads...
The Facebook app is terribad on every platform, and every form factor. Just don't bother using it.
Was at a Verizon store yesterday played with the X, very nice device, one thing I couldn't locate/figure out, nor could the rep....
how do you change pic/video mp size before taking the pic/video?
Are all the pics taken in 10mp size (or a different default size), or can that be adjusted?
If so, where can Those settings be found?
The standard settings section had the basics, HDR, flash, Geo, tap to focus, slo mo, gesture etc. I just couldn't locate where to change the size of pics and video.
(Btw the X's they had at store were not on kit kat, so I know camera wasn't on latest firmware)
Anyone know?

The settings you found in the app are the only settings there are. They REALLY dumbed down the camera app. I hate how little you can control on it.
I'm coming from a 2.5+ year HTC Thunderbolt, and the Moto X is a real neat device.
But I think it's the only phone I know of that you can't preset the size pic/video you'd like.
Kind of strange, considering past dumb phones I had could do this.
Taking pics and video in the highest mp will definitely fill up the phone's memory fast.
Maybe future firmware will allow this, who knows.

I was a little peeved when I found out the picture/video size couldn't be adjusted. I told myself I didn't need all that crap from the S3 so I got the MotoX and then turned out that one small thing would drive me nuts.
Just go find an app in the market. Camera+ is one

That may be a possible solution... but this seems an absolutely silly omission from the stock camera app (especially the video).

Problem is, will 3rd party camera app launch with wrist flick, plus the tap to take pic and keep finger down for multiple is nice, as well as taking pics while recording a video, I don't think these features will work with a 3rp party app.
Motorola X exterior is customizable, they built a whole website for that customizable part, can even add a name to boot, but customize a photo before taking it, oh boy.
And I completely understand they wanted to create a phone that just works for the average Joe, but at the least they could have had maybe a 5mp and 2mp preset under the default 10mp. They can still keep white balance etc.
Plus I think camera would be even faster taking 2mp pics (not that it has to be).
Like mentioned, maybe they'll pick up on this and change in future firmware (which is at least possible to do).

Both my front and rear facing camera are providing horrible experiences in video chats in Hangouts. They look fine through the camera app itself but the video in Hangouts is essentially black unless I shine a light directly on my face.
Anyone else having issues like that?
Okay, I thought it was only me, especially coming from Note 3.

Yes I though it was just me, I tired skype and it works a lot better seems like a hangouts camera issue
I have the same issue...I also use it to talk to my son. Really annoying bug.
It's probably something to do with the new linux kernel because cheese in Ubuntu is doing the same thing as with hangouts

Just noticed this myself. Verified it is fine in camera app, but completely unusable during hangouts. Rear camera is a bit dark too.
I'm really hoping this is fixed soon or I'll have to return my phone.

Same problems on my Nexus 5 with Lollipop. If I toggle between the front and back cameras a couple times the camera module locks up and dies followed by hangouts itself. This new camera apk has some serious issues.
I'm on a nexus 6 as well with this issue. Not a lot of hits on Google for the issue. No fixed that I've found. I figure it's the camera or hangouts.
This also happens with face unlock, both when improving matching and when trying to unlock.
I'm seeing this with most apps that use the camera snap chat, Instagram, etc.
Glad to know it isn't just me.
I'm having the same issue. I only have noticed it within hangouts.. Although I haven't tried face unlock. Anyone have a google product forum link for this hangouts issue?
Edit: according to AP, a fix may be on the way in the next update.

It looks like this has been fixed (at least in Hangouts) starting with Hangouts 2.5.81587410. Admittedly, I upgraded that and the OS to 5.0.1 at nearly the same time so it could be the OS update as well.
I haven't gotten any update to hangouts and my camera is still dark. I'm on 5.0.1 as well.
