I apologize if thread is already posted.
I tried to flash my i9001 to stock firmware but ODIN won't recognize my device. Actually my widows XP machine won't recognize it either.
Tried with different machine and reinstalled drivers and still nothing.
I have installed CWM recovery mode and phone is rooted.
Any suggestions how to flash it to stock firmware ?
Thanks in advance

Its not only about the machines, its also about the USB cable and USB slot, you need to isolate the problem by way of elimination....get a hold of another original samsung USB Cable to isolate that is not the cause and than examine your Phone USB slot for damage/mislaigned pins ...you can try moving the usb plug to see, if connection is being established

considering the cables ... got one from Samsung and other from Nokia, also ac power adapter is yet another so we eliminated the possibility of broken cables .
Still day after I sucessfully installed CWM recovery mode with ODIN.
So I suspect a problem with firmware

Assuming you did not just buy any compatible cable, much to my regret, I myself have bought and found unusable .
and you have tried the Quick Guide
If phone is not being detected of a sudden (Quick Guide)
1. Reboot PC after a power cord pull and Reboot Phone after a Battery Pull , try USB connection
2. Try using a different Samsung USB cable (must be sumsung and nothing else)
3. Try a different USB port (use USB slots at the back of PC)
4. Try on a lap top or different PC
5. Try install nexus drivers - needed for ICS firmwares
6. Make sure you don't have fast charge on.
Trick : Putting your Phone into download mode and connecting it with USB cable to PC will do it automatically. Meaning drivers will be installed by windows If there are none.
Frankly, these works for me all the time, so I am a bit clueless as to why you are unable to. I mean losing USB connection is pretty common, happens every now and than.
You should also try switching off WIFI , reboot the phone, reboot the PC, start Odin and than plug in the phone ( this worked for some)
Since the USB is trying to connect but not recognized as to what it is, you should try again, this time using device manger as mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
thats all I can think of
Finaly solved my problem!
Thanks!

If you have not done it already, try wiggling the mini-usb cable to see if it improves anything. Is the phone charging? It might be a hardware problem, I have read in some other post that it is the motherboard. Sorry, I can not think of anything else.

Try to clean the phone's contacts with a little rubbing alcohol and/or compressed air. There maybe lint or dirt on the contacts preventing a good connection.

Unfortunately that link does not work anymore. What was on it?
Asking because I got an m7 here where USB works just fine and reliably in both fastboot and recovery. But when the system (any ROM, tried more than 10 now), there's only charging. No MTP, no nothing.
Laptop's `dmesg` says:
Code:
[150266.816544] usb 2-1.5: new high-speed USB device number 16 using ehci-pci
[150266.935189] usb 2-1.5: New USB device found, idVendor=0bb4, idProduct=0c02

[150266.935196] usb 2-1.5: Manufacturer: HTC
[150266.935197] usb 2-1.5: SerialNumber: XXXXXXXXXXXX
(1-2 seconds...)
Code:

I think I've completely bricked my HTC One, I accidentally deleted the ROM and now all I'm left with is the Bootloader. I've tried numerous USB cables and none of them seem to detect my phone when doing the adb thing, before I bricked the phone I don't think I enabled USB Debugging either .
Is there any way I can try and unbrick it?

adb commands wont work whilst your in the bootloader, you need to use fastboot commands.
if you can get into the bootloader then your not bricked, bricked is when the phone wont switcxh on at all.
read up on how to post your fastboot getavr all, once you get it, post it here WITHOUT imei and serial number, and we will be able to help you much better get your phone back up and running.
here is a good place to start for adb and fastboot files and drivers, it doesn't get any easier than this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
also, USB debugging is only required when booted into a rom and has nothing to do with recovery or the bootloader.

that's the problem then, go to the HTC site and download HTC Sync manager and install it, once its installed, goto add/remove programs and remove HTC sync only, you should see just above that, HTC driver installer, leave that one there.
when you plug your phone into the computer, you should then see it load the drivers, fastboot should work then.

try a different PC, and does bootloader change from FASTBOOT to FASTBOOT USB when you connect it to the PC?
So I'm getting into fastboot mode but it just says FASTBOOT not FASTBOOT USB even thought it's plugged in. When USB is plugged in I can't even get into fastboot mode. Any ideas?

Is your usb cable a data cable or only a charging cable? Make sure its data capable, not only charging cable, try another cable, try another port (usb 2.0).

I guess that if your phone isn't detected both in windows and ubuntu its maybe a bad usb port on the phone or maybe a corrupted bootloader.
What caused the bootloop?

Hmmm this guy seems to have the same issue. I'm guessing a screw in the wrong spot causes some kind of short? Even though each screw had a different size and thread.
