[Q] Lollipop new camera features? - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does Moto G 2014 Lollipop supports the camera2 api new features such as Per frame control, Manual sensor control, Manual post-processing control ?

It's not certain yet, but probably not.

[Q] Manual control of the camera

Hello,
I'm currently using an iPhone 4S which has manual control. I'm considering buying an Moto X phone and i want to know if it's possible to manualy control some aspects of the camera, like shutter speed, ISO and white balance in K.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Ambient Display, AcDisplay, Active Display, and other third parties

So, the IR blasters on the Moto X are pretty radical and Active Display really is perfect... well, almost.
Personally I think Active Display looks pretty bad, so I was wondering if it is possible to disable it and use Ambient Display from Lollipop instead? Will it function the same? What about third party apps like AcDisplay, are they capable of using the IR blasters?
On that note are there any other apps that can use the IR blasters for anything else, not necessarily for notifications?
According to Motorola if you use Ambient Display, Moto Display (Active Display) will be disabled meaning the gesture using the IR sensors will not work.
"The Moto Actions Approach gesture will not wake Ambient Display." -Moto X 2014 changelog
I was curious about this myself and was hoping there was a 3rd party solution for this. I too would like to use the approach gesture to turn on ambient display instead of active display.
These aren't ir blasters, they're just sensors.

+1! An exposed module would be great.
Using a Moto Maxx, but I guess it should work just the same right?
Can we reach a dev to get on board?

[Q] Camera2 API

So with the launch of the Galaxy S6, Samsung officially started supporting a lot of the manual camera controls available on the nexus 5 and 6. There are some lollipop aosp roms for the tmobile note 4 available and I was wondering if any of them support the manual camera controls in camera2 api or does samsung have to implement that

Manual Camera options (camera2 api)

Hi,
I´d like to ask:
Is there a custom rom to moto x 2014, which is possible to set manual camera control, like Iso, shutter, macro? I used the app "manual camera compatibility" and my original rom doesn´t support it.
Thanks!
Did you find anything regarding it yet??

AOSP rom with Nougat and Moto app?

I want to upgrade my Moto X 2014 to android N but without losing his functions, and with an AOSP rom (can be CM based too)
We should stick a post on this matter, because people are either unable to read or too lazy to search.
There's basically four Moto features:
TWIST TO CAMERA: working in all ROMs (however, Moto Camera doesn't work with DPI other than 480)
CHOP TO TORCH: working in all ROMs
MOTO VOICE: NOT available, it's closed source so we have to manually tweak Google Now/Assistant to recognize our voice from a LOCKED, UNPLUGGED phone (see XDA homepage for a guide on this)
MOTO DISPLAY: NOT available, there's a modified Ambient Display that uses the same sensors (including IR, of course) and it works pretty well.
However, Moto and Ambient are NOT the same thing: Moto is a dedicated app which shows your notifications in a streamlined way and it will keep them in the panel even if you swipe them out of sight; moreover, it will not wake your entire screen if you touch the black area outside the clock/notifications.
Ambient Display, on the other hand, is simply a grayscale lockscreen. It's not nearly as practical as Moto, but the sensors to activate it are the same.
Can someone please make this post a sticky so people do not ask the same questions a hundred more times?
