Can Tmobile note 4 be used on SPRINT!? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello I'm wondering if it's possible. Tmobile on my state Colorado is Horible I'm paying for unlimited yet I only get 5MBPS down ALL THE TIME even less than 2 megs and tmobile tells me it's normal...I know it's now when people are getting 3 or 5x more faster speeds than me....sprint on the other hand my uncles is blazing fast. He's 3 year old phone smashed on my 3 week old galaxy note 4...ain't that some sht? And it's 50 UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. Tmobile has seriously lost me as a customer.

Nope, different radios. You'd have to get a different device.

To me that would be a no brainer....support for Samsung's Exynos is already near the end and I hate TouchWiz. To be able to essentially get a phone and a top of the line tablet for the same price....WOW! I too toyed with getting the Note 2, but after seeing this device and the price, theres no way.
I was considering the note 2 as well, but the nexus devices are quality and for the price of them combined, i might as well get both the N4 and N10 together. Can't wait till they're ready to ship!
This is my dilemma.
Note II has LTE, expandable storage, replaceable battery, and S-Pen.
Nexus 4 has frequently updated stock Android, wireless charging, and is off-contract.
Now I have to decide whether or not to cancel my AT&T Note II pre-order.
it all comes down to "Screen Size" after using my Note II for a week i find it hard to go back to my 4.6' devices, im so used to the extra screen space i get with the Note II.. and the S Pen features..
But far as hardware i don't think your losing here.. they both have 2gb of ram, quad-core processors. But you lose your LTE speeds on the Nexus 4, (Not that T-Mobile has LTE anyway)
The question is:
Do you want to stick with Touchwiz and its features and a 5.5inch screen?
or have pure stock Android 4.2 but lose Touchwiz features and 5.5inch screen, expandable memory, and battery

You see my only problem is loosing the 5.5 screen and it does not have an expendable memory.
The main reason I bought the Note II was because I work as a Visual Specialist and I can put my concept book in it.
I bought the Note II straight out of contract for 707$ T-Mobile with the 30$ 5GB internet, unlimited text, and 100 minutes.
If I return that I can get the Nexus 4 16GB with the Nexus 10 Tablet. Use the Nexus 10 tablet for my concept book.
OMG SO HARD TO CHOOSE.
this is the same decision I am trying to make, at the weekend I ordered a sim free note ii on Amazon, as soon as I saw this announced, I cancelled my order.
with the Note ii the main selling point for me is the HUGE screen, I don't really care about the S-pen, although I guess it could come in handy when playing DrawSomething.
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy SII running Cyanogenmod 9 stable, I really like the phone, but I'm not a fan of touchwiz, which is one of the main reasons I am running CM, also it took Samsung longer to release ICS than it did the Cyanogenmod team, so for speed of updates, the Nexus gets some extra points here.
other than the size, the specs aren't that different, similar resolution (different type + size) screen, quad core CPU, 2gb memory, 16gb built in storage.
couldn't they just give me a 5.5" Nexus, than I would be happy, but am I going to notice a 0.8 inch difference all that much?
I'm trying to take price out of the equation, and decide what phone I would prefer regardless of the cost and even then its difficult!
This is my debate too but with the 3G non LTE version of the Note II...
Custom roms will be plenty on the Nexus 4 and no issues with updates...and quad core Krait > quad core Exynos A9...Samsung really should of put in quad core A15s to compete with the Krait chipsets.
If Nexus 4 had LTE I would have no dilemma.
In my country there is no 4G yet, Everything everywhere will be releasing theirs in a month or so, but its so expensive with stupid caps that I am not going to bother, and its only available in a few cities, so if I decided to go with the note it would be the 3g version anyway.
That was my dilemma sorta lol I have the gs3 and was planning on getting the note 2 but now I think I'm going for the n4 and n10. I had the gn and I loved it and the no sd was not an issue

Wow! exact same boat!!!! I just paid $710 for my Note 2 and having serious regrets at this point and thinking of returning. Only because I soon realized that $700 for a phone is sickening..
Options I considered...
1. Take back to tmobile for $50.. one manager tried to say $75 so watch out for shady managers.
2. Ebay the phone... you may get $700+ for it but expect around $20-40 in estimated fees (ebay and paypal) plus the risk of the buyer being shady and paypal pulling the money out of your account.
3. Craigslist... I wouldnt trust the money or the people looking to pay $700.
Why to sell:
$700 way to much for a phone
Touchwiz is garbage, admit it, its confusing as hell.
We are about a month away from getting the multi window support.
The phone is too large, yea it may fit in a pocket but in reality its does not handle naturally.
You can buy the nexus 4 and the Nexus 7 for the same price you paid for the note 2 (no brainer)
At this point, eat the $50 and just return it... better yet, sit on it for a few days and return it after the Nexus 4 reviews come out. I plan on dumping the phone especially since I love my smaller screen (vibrant) and always up to date firmwares you will bet getting from google.
Would you choose the Galaxy Note II with Microsoft Surface Pro
or
LG Nexus 4 16GB with Nexus 10 32GB Tablet.
No brainer. Nexus 4 all the way. Even more if you like to flash roms.

VZW isnt an option LTE or no LTE, so point seems moot.
Take back the note and get the nexi devices.
They are open devices and you can go flash crazy on them. Which is why you're on this message board, correct?
Personally, I don't like the idea and background of the phablets. They are just too big for me. Also, I'm kinda anti samsung for now. I haven't been happy with the build quality or material quality of my GNex.
but the LG build quality will be similar, or not? its all plastic.
and will this adapter for additional storage also work for the n10? just want to make sure, cause $100 extra for 16GB is just too much.
Lawls, if anyone has ever worked in a phone store, you'll know LG makes ****, to the point android can't fix their problems. Samsung was terrible too, but since Samsung went android/windows, it has been amazing. I'd get the tablet. I recently got a note 1, and put a aosp 4.1.2 ROM on it and love it(went from galaxy nexus). I want the note 2, but at $700, yeah its pretty steep, but hey, quad core, what do you expect? With that all said, I loved my g2x, but have heard many complaints that never hit me, except it killed my Sim card.
End rant.

Gorilla glass 2 is all around the N4.

I'm thinking about moving from galaxy note 2 Nexus 4

Ok I am not here to troll, im humbly asking and wanting your inputs on your most unbiased opinion.
So I have a tmobile line that is open for an upgrade.
Don't get me wrong. I am loving the big screen of the note 2, while rocking naked front massive hd display with only a tpu case. My white note gets excellent battery life thanks to its 3200 battery.
Now I can get the nexus 4 for free with my loyalty upgrade to get the nexus 4. And also free with 2 added 2 year contact with them. But this is using to contract another 2 years with them. And I must do a entire line to get this deal. (won't affect the phone upgrades tho)
Now my hesitation and dilemma here is this. I really wanna try the new blackberry Z10. Because it's new and I like being able to have something that isn't something that can be used as more unified social aspects. Nice. But I'm reading that people aren't happy with where they are now with the current buggy software to iron out over the course. I'm not too sure how long. And by that time, the new blackberry might be released. But then again, that's with every phone these days.
So in my conclusion, i've decided to go with the either note 2 or the nexus 4. The note 2 will be given to my dad for his retirement gift. Or I can just get another note 2 myself. (yes I pay for my parents and my bills)
So it comes down to this, I am a college student who is in engineering major. I love playing, moding, rom installs, and just having fun with the device. Battery isn't too much of an issue for me, because I do have a fast charger in my car and my office. So it's almost always plugged in.
My main attraction to nexus was their Google experience. Which I absolutely love. I know I can still the aokp rom to make it stock like the nexus 4. But these come at a cost of massive bugs and not stable for my daily work and play.
So my question is, can you relate to my subject and be able to decide on which device to go with? And is it even worth my time to go from note 2 to nexus 4? I don't care about the storage, because I use Dropbox anyways. I also have unlimited everything for tmobile. But I also need at&t capable phone that can be swapped for usage. (which works with my tmobile note 2, but I don't get lte) but in other hand, nexus can do both hspa+ and lte for att. And lte for future note 2 for tmo. Which I would love to use the nexus 4.
Yeah, I know nexus 4 is a hacker's dream. And that wireless charging is on my sight as well. What you guys think??
Go for the nexus 4? Or stay with note 2?
Also I do care about the quality of the screen. That's my main concern with nexus 4.
Push me one or the other to join the world of nexus 4.

Honestly, I reccomend you get a T-Mobile prepaid micro Sim, and port your number to that. Buy the n4 for 299$ and 50$ a month gets you unlimited talk text and web
And 30$ a month gets you unlimited text, unlimited 2g and 5gb 4g. 100 miniuts plus 10 cents an extra. It works good for me.
You save a lot if money on prepaid as opposed to a contract. And you get the same coverage. You could save 50$ a month eaisy by using the prepaid plan. Probably more.

hmmm, i don't know how unbiased an opinion you'll get here but anyway...
Having just come from a galaxy s2 I will never buy another samsung phone again, or at least until they work out their source code issues so that AOSP can be ported to their devices without the long list of bugs you alluded to in your post. The N4 has been a great phone for me so far, it's not without it's issues. The back's made of (non-gorilla) glass, the display isn't OLED (not an issue for me as I've come to prefer it, but some find it difficult going back to an LCD from OLED), no expandable storage, no LTE and a non-(easily)-removable battery.
None of these things are an issue for me but they might be for you. If they are then get the Note.
The perks of this device are the quick vanilla updates from google, the build quality (on mine anyway), the battery life is decent, the screen is sharp and natural, it's lightning quick and has a wide variety of ROM's that almost all run stable on the device.
As far as I'm concerned, BB10 looks nice but it's an unknown beast. Do we know if the upgrade path will be like that of Android, where devices can be upgraded to newer versions with improvements; or will it be like WP7 where the devices weren't compatible with WP8 (i could be wrong about this, memory's sketchy)?
I'd suggest going with the Nexus, it'll be consistently updated from google and you can change almost anything on it you want - let the blackberry come out, spend a year out in the wild and see what comes of it.
Whether it's free on a contract or not, you're still paying for it one way or another - no point backing a dud horse...

Nexus 4 vs HTC One (T-Mobile)

Hey guys, looking for some opinions here...
I used to be on sprint, but hated it, but it was free... Now, I am on T-Mobile, I have a chance to get back to sprint @$50/more and HTC One, or s4.
Now, to me, I rather like hspa+, I always get good speeds, vs dialup on sprint. Problem is that since I've gotten nexus 4. I've moved to DC, and am now moving again, this time to Atlanta. Lately, I get odd signal drops all over. Like I'd be at home and my phone while being in my pocket would lose service all together, or would be trying to refresh an app, and same thing. I tried many different ROM and kernel configurations, as well as radios, still same. When I was down in Atlanta two weeks ago, similar issues. Somebody I know has nexus 4 on T-Mobile in DC, and they are complaining of same thing.
Now, my buddy in Atlanta just upgraded from galaxy nexus to s4, he says it is night and day ad far as signal strength goes, quality of service. And when I was down there, I had signal drops with 3 bars to no service, didn't make sense as to why signal was dropping.
My question is, the antenna in htc one as well as s4 seems to be much better for tmo than what nexus 4 has. I've also read a lot on people have similar problems as I with the nexus 4. Will getting HTC one resolve this issue I'm having? Or is it network related and I'm better off switching just to get more consistent service?

Galaxy note 3 price

Just wondering how long it took last year for the note 2's price to drop unlocked. Price is pretty steep right now for the note 3. I remember when the galaxy s4 came our it was $900 for about a month (at least on some websites) but then it went down a lot.

I'm just glad they release all the new phones in September/October for the most part. I got my Note1 almost 2 years ago in late November a couple hundred bucks off of what it was selling for when it came out. Now the decision is WHICH big phone to get. It appears the Note3 is
in the running, but with all the other 5+ inch devices, I'll wade through them all. I just use a stock rom, but usually a custom kernel, so I'm
waiting to see what the development looks like before I made the choice.
Lol, no offense p5, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the op.
OP: I don't know the answer to your question..but it's odd. The note 3 is 700ish off contract right now. Not sure how much cheaper they'll get.
sEnt from thE noTe 3
I'm not seeing it get much cheaper than what it already is. (Not that it's cheap now)

Upgrading Phone: Note 3 or Note 4?

I am a Sprint customer and currently own a Lg Optimus G. I am ready for an upgrade and am gonna go for a 2 year contract, my question is should I go for the previous Note 3 for only $99 ? Or get the new Note 4 for $299 ? I was also considering the G3 but with the problems I had with the Opimus Im not sure if I want to go back to LG, plus the Note seems to offer a lot of cool features I am interested in. Also is there any new news on the Note Edge? Ive only heard of it not seen it. Thanks for any help.
the note 4 is a great phone just go with the latest and greatest! The edge is coming out on the 14th for ATT and i know that because i work for ATT but idk about the other carriers.
If you can wait another 3 to 4 months with upgrading, the Note 4 will probably drop another 150 in price. Honestly the difference in price between the 3 and 4 is not really justified.
You would not be disappointed with either choice but the Note 4 is definately a noticeably better phone. If you're going to keep it for two years, you're probably better off going for the newer phone if you Can afford it.

For me its not even close. Some say the Note 4 isnt enough of an upgrade over the Note 3, for me its a HUGE upgrade over it. The pen alone is far better on the note 4, but even the multitasking and the screen and the feel of the phone, and the faster Android L and so on and so forth... Id say go for the Note 4. Im currently using the Note 3 while my 4 is in the repairshop and I really miss a lot from the Note 4...

The Note Edge looks interesting, how much will it be?
I am thinking I will go with the newer Note 4 or Edge since I will have it for the next 2 years. It just sucks having to spend the extra $200 for it. Will there be a lot of developement for it? And any other phones (Sprint) that I shoyld take a look at before deciding? As I am still nit fully decided.
Note 4 without question, best phone I've had in years
Consider the Huawei Mate 7, and the Nexus 6. They are closer in regard to screen size, but for me they are merely big phones, lacking what makes the note 4 a great phone; spen, multitasking, the screen etc.

We need development? This phone is pretty close to perfect out of the box, it's the first phone I don't feel like I even have to root.
