Help! Stock Note 3 BRICKED, cant recover. Expert needed. - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an AT&T Note 3. I was rooted using the KINGO app, but returned my phone to stock several weeks ago and the rom shows official and the knox count is 0. I am running the stock AT&T Note 3 Android 4.3
The other day, an official AT&T android update was pushed to my phone. The update bricked my phone and now I am unsure if I can even recover what was on my phone...or at the very least get it running again. For now, I am without a phone.
When I can get the phone to power up, the phone attempts to "Recovery Booting" (this is displayed in blue letters in the top left corner with the galaxy Note 3 Logo in the middle). It tries to install this AT&T update following the recovery wording when powering it on normally and when using Volume UP/Home/Power . The update progresses towards 100% then "completes" sometimes, but then the screen goes black and the phone does not start back up. I have to remove the battery for a period of time and replace to get the phone to do anything
I can get the phone to go into download mode (Volume down/Home/power), but my phone did not have USB debugging turned on the last time I was able to access the options, so it is not recognized by kies/odin, etc!
Even though their update caused the problem, AT&T wont help me (over the phone or at the store) as my phone is over a year old...their solution is to buy a new phone and plan as they say they can't do anything to fix the phone.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Can you get into recovery?..if so try to factory reset then maby you will be able to power up get to developer options and turn on debug so you can use odin...other option..I have heard of some doing this..go to Bestbuy Samsung counter..ask them if they have the odin tool. If they do they may be able to get you up and running.

Don't worry bro.
Just follow this post to put your phone back to stock and get it rooted again. My phone used to brick and I went through it.
Follow the steps carefully, and you'll get your phone back.

g1 help, cant get past triangle screen.

Ok so i got this g1 for free. I dont have t-mobile im on att. Im also nostranger to HTC ive been using the Diamond and TYTAN 2 for years now!
So when i first turned the phone on it would boot into android and tell me i needed a t-mobile sim. Well my plan was to get an unlock code and use the phone with ATT. Anyways for some reason i turned the phone on and and it started booting to the triangle screen... Id treid alt l then wiped the phone and reverted back to stock settings but it still boots to the triangle screen. I have no idea why the phone just started doing this. I also have no idea the history of the phone if its ever been rooted or anything. I need to get this phone working again so i can attempt to unlock it.
I tried to follow the unroot article to get back to stock but when i put the spl on an sd card named update.zip it wouldnt install it says no signiture found verification failed. I also downloaded rc29 and renamed it to update tried to install but that failed with a diffrent error.
Im not sure why im going straight to the triangle screen like i said i never screwed with the phone at all i just turned it on and it started doing that. Im turning the phone on by taping the end call button.
I know you said you tried to follow the steps to root the phone but it sounds like you didn't do it the correct way.
If you have the RC29.zip you need to unzip it and move the Dream.nbh file over to the root of your SD card. Then press and hold the camera button while powering on the phone. It will go to a gray screen where it SHOULD say "Press power to install update" you do that....DO NO INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS! and then once that is done you should be back to the very bare bones stock G1. Problem is you need to do more than that to get Root access, and the rest of the steps would require being signed in. There should be a thread on here somewhere about signing in w/o a SIM card which you need to search for and follow.
here is the best root guide if you haven't found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
ya i havent tried the above article yetl i tried to unroot the phone, not root it. Becuase it saidit would revert back to stock settings and im not sure wether the phone has been rooted.
.
I will work through this a little bit later but like i said the phone goes straight to the triangle exclamation point screen where you press alt l or whatever alt combo you want. So there is no way i can tell if its below rc30... Also screwing around earlier i held down the camera button and tapped end call it still went to the same screen with the triangle. Maybe that becuase theres no spl installed? Like i said this phone was working fine and then it just stoped booting into android and started going into this recovery mode or whatever it is, so im not even sure if rooting is what i need to do. As of right now i jst want it to boot up again and tell me no sim card found so i can work from there.
The triangle screen is stock RECOVERY.
You have set the boot recovery flag.
Try pressing home-back when you're in there.

[Q] Yellow Triangle Issues

I was using the instructions from here to remove the yellow triangle from my Note N7000, and found that other people have had similar issues to what happened with mine (on page 34 of thread). I flashed the 1.tar and get the complete black screen as the instructions state (step 6) ... but from step 7 onwards, I have no response at all from my phone. I have 2x Jigs, and have attempted to use both to get this fixed, but I am not able to get phone to reconnect to ODIN. People have reported the same issue, but to no response.
I had a Galaxy Note N7000 on Telstra (Australia) but unlocked from network, running CM9 4.0.3 and was trying to flash to 4.0.4 when I got the yellow triangle. Can't check any other the other stats at present as obviously, my phone is a brick. Anyone got any super secret squirrel tricks that will get my phone back so I don't need to take it back to Telstra to get them to fix it.
Further to the above, answering some questions already asked in original forum, battery had a charge, but when I attempt to connect to charger to confirm, get no battery charging symbol on screen, get nothing at all.
When connecting the phone to Odin 1.85, and 1.87 for Steps 7-9 and the Jig Bought from here as well as making one myself, still no joy.
Any assistance will be appreciated, or am I going to have to revert to the devil to get a repair due to a hardware fault?

At points 7-10 the screen will not work!
Follow the rest of instructions and your phone will be all set..
My Point was that even after steps 7-10, nothing happens. Follow them to the t, and don't get my screen back, still just have a brick.
No feedback from device, device won't connect with Odin at step 10 (No COM:XX comes up) ... and device doesn't even register with PC as being connected. Different USB Slots used everything tried, and I have scoured every post pertaining to a yellow triangle in XDA, still without having any joy in getting this fixed. :crying:
Further to the above, it was step 5 that lead to this result. From step 5 onwards, I haven't been able to use my Note. Which makes me a sad panda.
Just trying to find a way to fix it rather than sending it back to Telstra to try and get a warranty repair ... if I can.

Just to make sure that I wasn't doing something wrong, got the stop watch on my G15 out, and timed everything to the T, making sure that the battery wasn't in for longer than expected etc, and this was after having the phone on charge since my last message. Still to no avail. Follow the prompts of taking battery out etc, boot into download mode, push volume up to accept the download mode, connect to PC with Odin Loaded, and then without Odin Loaded, and no response from PC, so Phone isn't responding to the Unbricking, or the computer isn't responding. This was tried in my 3 free USB ports tonight, with no luck.

[Q] Help screen wont respond after root mishap

Hi All,
Australin Optus GT-I9305 (4G/LTE Ver).
Android 4.1.2
Download mode: Binary dowload 3 - Current binary Official - System status Official
I tried to root my SGS3 today with Odin however I used the wrong root from my old Note 2 which caused the screen to do weird things and then the screen would not boot up or respond. I have reinstalled the stock software on it with Odin and now the phone starts up but still does not respond to my touch's.
I can boot into recovery and download mode no problem. I have cleared the cache and performed a factory reset still no response from screen. I am stuck in the first set up screen atm the menu key, back & home key all make sounds when I touch them.
If I unroot the phone will it fix this issue? if so how?
Is the phone gone/dead/unfixable?
Or can I use USB OTG to control the phone so I can use triangle away and return for warranty?
I also think USB debugging is off as well as I cannot get into the phone.
Any help will be really appreciated thanks guys.
Although extremely similar in hardware the screen's digitalizers are different causing issues like this instead of a plain brick that you would get if you tried a I9300 firmware. Try using Samsung Emergency Restore on Kies.
If that doesn't work then you may have to send it into a repair center as you could have, put bluntly, ****ed it.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda premium
I've read of several cases where people have used Roms or recoveries intended for the Note 2 on their S3 and it literally fries the screen.
It allows too much current through or something like that.
I think you will need to get a new screen mate.

Issue with Note 4 possible bad memory?

(While I was in a rooted DOK2 FW - Tmobile SM-910T3)
So heres the deal, trying to walk around I wanted to mock my location but was interrupted and placed my phone in my pocket which "locked" the bootload.
I managed to flash the stock image and unlocked the bootloader loaded TWRP and restored from my backup
Now this is where hell starts. It looked fine until I rebooted my phone.
Symptoms:
On a reboot the phone will not turn back on after I opt to reboot my phone
At this time the phone will not turn back on (i noticed this when i rebooted while plugged in the charging light was not on) I pull the battery for a few minutes to turn it back on
When I power the device back on sometimes it is stuck in the Bootloader Screen (unable to get into recovery and download) so I need to pull battery wait and turn back on
When the device does boot I can get into recovery and download mode on when it boots properly
Sometimes its stuck on the tmobile screen and I need to reboot it.
When the phone is operational it will occasionally lock up and I will need to wait a few minutes before the device is able to respond.
Any ideas what I can do? I had thought flashing a stock rom (from sammobile) would fix the boot issues
As of now:
I've recently flashed to the new Tmobile marshmallow stock via odin. I am still seeing these symptons. I'm currently installing the Maximum Overdrive Rom hoping it will fix some issues
Still seeing some of the same issues. Stock romantic and a deflated romantic did nothing. Is there a way to reflash a bootloader?
I'm having the same issues....I have odined back to stock dok2 twice....I think the pe3 bootloader files are floating around the forums somewhere...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67514260&postcount=4
When my N4 boots up I occasionally get the emmc boot error...I brought it to tmobile and explained the issue to the rep. She brushed it off as being my battery. I know its not my battery as its a 3 month old 10000mah zerolemon. So I'm going to just limp this phone along until its time to jump to the Note 7. I've been flashing roms since the golden era of windows mobile/palm os days and on android since my G1...And some rookie rep who doesn't even know how to put a phone in recovery or download mode tries to brush it off as the battery.... My girl has the sprint note 4 and hers did the same thing, she took it to a store the rep ended up giving her a fully functional refurb... (which is the right thing to do if the phone has emmc failures) Anyways I hope you have better luck than I've had
i had the exact same issue as you guys started 2 months ago got worse overtime now my emmc is dead it wont write anything or even go into recovery or download i had tried all types of roms stock firmwares even took the phone apart swapped the power button and bought a new battery now my memory is dead and i can actually say its the emmc chip, seems to me these note 4s are starting to die i bought mine when it first came out in 2014 kind of feel ripped off but best phone i ever had imo

Upgraded to Nougat - Phone froze on reboot, forced to wipe data. HELP!

I have a stock AT&T G6, got it when the phone first came out, and I haven't touched the firmware. Update after update, no problems.
Finally this morning my phone had enough - I performed a system update. However during the reboot, the phone froze for 30 minutes on the AT&T logo. Nothing changed.
Reset phone, nothing changed, 15 minutes no change. Reset phone to recovery mode - wipe cache - reset phone. Same thing - stuck at AT&T logo.
Finally I had enough - I did a full Factory reset. AT LAST! After 8 painful minutes stuck at the AT&T logo, my phone came to life and welcomed me to my new phone (FML).
So here I am with a freshly loaded copy of my new Nougat 7.0 software on my AT&T Build ( NRD90M.G920AUCS6EQF1 ) and I am desperately trying to run every possible data recovery option possible.
I WANT to recover my photos and SMS messages before I start using my phone. But I can't - every app I've run shows no results. Everything I'm seeing shows I need to root this phone to make it work.
Unfortunately I have no clue htf to do that. Every instruction I find online does not include my build version. My phone is turned off and not used until I recover this data. I would appreciate any help I can get in recovering this data!

No known root for current builds to my knowledge. Don't know if anyone is still picking away at it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Development on this device has been almost silent for many months.
