Use titanium backup and backup Touchwiz Home......some widgets may have to be manually replaced.

TBackup will restore LG apps ?

Hi,
I have a stupids question, as i am going to flash a custom Rom (Fear edition F19) I did a backup with Titanium, I just have noobie question, when i will restore after flashing, will it restore all those LG apps too ? like car home , sns etc ? I only want the Apps that are provided in the Fear edition + Apps that i have installed myself + data
What should i do if it will install LG apps ?
Also another noobie question as Fear edition come with a launcher, will be backup replace that launcher if it is same ? Go launcher for example ?
Thanks for your help
Yes it will restore the LG apps.
But at the restore function in titanium backup you can check/uncheck which apps you want to restore.
You can always cook it in the modaco kitchen so you can choose what you want.
Or you can easily uninstall them easily with titanium backup even if they are system apps.

No, it will NOT restore the system apps from you backup. If your new ROM contains the same system app as a previous backup, it will restore the data for it.
TB does not backup system apps, only system data. Your user apps will be restored.
I'm not sure I understand the launcher question. Anyway, if TB restores a launcher, the next time you press HOME you will be asked which launcher to use.

One is saying Yes and other No who to believe lolzz I jsut installed the Custom Rom so i need the answer please before i mess up with restore lolzz

Noob question on CWM backups

Hi all,
A question regarding backups:
I am currently on CM7 MIUI.US and am thinking of switching back to GB roms. If I do a backup on CWM now, and flashing stock GB + roms over, and if I so happen to not like the ROM and wishes to go back to MIUI, I can simply do a restore on my old backup is that correct?
Now backing up, do I need to do a factory reset? I am okay with cache + dalvik wipes, but factory resetting will reset all the customisation done on my MIUI rom and it is a nasty thing to do all over again (dragging and sorting all the apps into respective folders )
And I would have to use TiB to do all the restoration of my apps! and I would have to choose what apps to backup etc etc..
Thanks for any answers xda folks!
well you can maker a nandroid backup in CWM this is like an ISO image of the whole ROM, whether you will have issues restoring it on GB roms i dont know.
You could make a backup using the MIUI backup (which backs up settings and screen layouts and so on) but this would only be able to restore on MIUI ROM (if you decide to go back)
I would make a backup using MIUI, and make a backup using Ti Backup (if you have the paid version its all automated, No need to press DONE after each app has backed up)
Hope this helps.
EDIT: you could make a nandroid backup too, what the hell, if your flashing anyway, Im just not 100% sure it will work.
Yea i was asking if backing up nandroid will help when i want to revert.. But thanks for the heads up on the miui backup! And yeah I have tib pro so restoring isn't a pain, the tough part is the choosing of the apps to restore..

Well restoring a nandroid backup of a MIUI ROM and restoring it on a Different ROM MAY cause problems (ive never tried this)
Restore all your apps !! if you need to choose you obviously have too many and dont use them.
Delete the junk, Keep the good save yourself some space too !!
(im also an app collector lol)
There are those files from like 162939594 years ago that I use TiB to backup and never restored

[Q]Nandroid Backup

Hello guys,
I bought SGS1 a while ago and changed some roms it was annoying losing my apps then my friend told me to use titanium backup it was more annyong cuz i had to backup one program at a time
then i heard about Nandroid Backup , so my question is:
if i change ROM lets say from MIUI to Darky or something and i used Nandroid Backup, all my apps will be there after i restore?
Your phone will shift back exactly where it was when you nandroid backed up ! And any progress from their will be lost !

Titanium Backup offers the option to backup all your apps at the same time, in case you didn't know. This may be only for the paid version though, I'm not sure. But considering it's the most useful app I've come across, it's definitely worth the money.

Actually if you try to restore a nandroid backup after switching to cm7/miui, your phone simply wont work as the file systems are completely different.
To go back to a Samsung ROM from miui you would need to flash a stock Samsung ROM via odin, and THEN restore the nandroid.
Anyway, beyond that remember the following...
Titanium backs up apps and app data, use after changing ROMs to regain apps.
Nandroid takes a snapshot of the entire ROM, use in case of problems to repair your phone.

Correctly said rschenck!!
Basically if you are on CM7 and want to give a try to MIUI just make a NANDROID backup for full ROM backup and try MIUI ,if you don't like it then flash back CM7 first and then restore the NANDROID backup!!
when it comes to Titaniuim backup , it backs up your app data, freezes them and the apps you want (only in pro version) on any ROM and restore back after flashing any other ROM, if you are on free version then you must select manually which apps to backup that's a pain in the ass !!
Use these according to your requirements....and dont ever restore one rom's nandroid with another as the Kernels,Filesystems,Modems,Bootloaders are entirely different and that could mess up your phone !!
i would prefer NANDROID over Titanuim !!
Thanks guys for this wonderful explanation...just one more query:
I'm currently using samsung Stock rom, CF root kernel, with lagfix(ext4), and some "framework" tweaks..and am thinking of trying CyanogenMod. So if i do a Nandroid backup now, and later decide to come back from cyanogenmod, can i just use Odin to get to ANY Stock rom so that the partitions, file systems, modem etc get back to a similar old format, OR do i need this exact Stock rom version, Kernel, lagfix etc before i can restore the nandroid?
is "kernel" included in a Nandroid backup? also, are Types of filesystems included (or "Lagfix" has to be repeated)?

[Q] Stock Samsung apps on a custom ROM?

Hi, I wanted to flash Slim Bean 4.2.2 ROM but I want to keep the stock samsung apps that came with the phone, is it possible to install them somehow? If not all then could you please tell me what ones I can install?
Thanks in advance,
Nik

you can extract the apps apk files from your nandroid tar backups of your original samsung rom, then try installing some of them.
make a full nandroid backup of your current stock rom first. make a full nandroid backup of your slim rom before trying to install old stock apps.
some of the apps have no odex component and are compatible with JB 4.2.. those are the ones you can install.
I run stock quick office, for example.
you can find some of the apps in the captivate themes and apps forum.
be careful about installing any system apps that will overwrite a newer version on you current rom, e.g., camera, email, contacts, etc. this is not a good idea.
