Hello, i'm writing this thread because i have been getting this annoying wifi bug for a while now, the problem is that when i'm using the "Keep Wifi on during sleep" option on Always, when i put the phone to sleep sometimes the wifi stops working and i stop receiving notifications from any app that requires an internet connection, when i unlock the phone and pull down the status bar i'm still connected to the wifi network but the icon is in orange color which means it's not getting any data, and in order to fix this i need to turn off and on the wifi and it starts working again but it's annoying because sometimes the phone is locked and someone sent me a whatsapp message and i don't receive it until i notice that my wifi is bugged.
This bug happened to me when i was using cm 11 and after that i changed the rom to slimkat (fresh install of course) and the bug appeared again. Anyone experienced this bug before and could help me out please? Thanks!

Hi,
I noticed a problem persisting over the last versions of Zeus.
When you reboot the device with WiFi on, WiFi will be turned off after the restart.
I just updated with 6.28 and there, the behavior is as follows:
1. WiFi connected with full reception
2. Reboot via menu after long press of the power button
3. Device reboots
4. After reboot WiFi symbol is there indicating full reception
5. Symbol disappears a couple of seconds later as WiFi is apparently turned of automatically.
This is also the case when you have to pull out the battery when the device freezes. So I guess there is something resetting the WiFi status, possibly the new power widgets?
I'm still not able to post in development section, so I hope someone will read this and forward the info to the right place.
Thanks
Jo
are you sure your wifi is set to never sleep? wifi settings / menu - advance.
I never have had wifi issues since I updated to 6.28
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Yes, Wifi is set to never sleep.
However, the other long known Wifi-bug is also still present. The one, where the device does not automatically reconnect to a wifi network, if the connection is lost, even only for a short time. Maybe these 2 issues are connected.
Hi there everybody,
a few days ago my P970 started to go crazy a bit. It suddenly lost Wifi connection and won't reconnect. The Wifi symbol in the status bar looks like it is connecting, but nothing happens. Additionally, under the wifi settings, the on-off switch of the wifi is light grey (greyed out) and does not react anymore on my input.
As I could not find any further information on this topic, I decided to do a factory reset followed by a reflash of the V30B (Europe open; Android 4.0.4) and another factory reset as well as format of the SD-card. After that I did not encounter any problems until I finally wanted to customize my phone again with apps etc.
Last night again I lost the connection to Wifi and just decided to see what will happen. Until now (16 hours later) the Wifi icon is still kind of showing a connection attempt and is flashing non-stop and under settings the wifi-switch is still grey.
Anyone got an idea what could be wrong with my phone? Hardware or Software problem? If I leave Wifi switched off, there is no problem with the phone, but it sucks if one cannot use the wifi...

Well maybe think about, what MODs (like PimpMyROM) and apps you installed. Maybe one of them causes the strange behaviour... If you say it works, till you start to customize it, it probably is a problem with any customization...

Make sure something will trigger Wi-Fi AP. If yes, Wi-Fi will not turn on, and the button is greyed out.
Excuse my bad English.

i got the same problem..
can anyone help us...
Wifi Mac Address goes unavailable...
Plzzzzzzzz
I have been having this issue for a bit now, it hasnt been like this always but only recently.
I also noticed that there was another user who was complaining of the same issue on a KK rom as well.
I have had this issue on Dirty Unicorns and Spirit Rom
I am going to give SlimSaber a try and see if it persists on that as well.
I know it could be network issue but I have never had this problem until recently and I did not change residence etc.
It shows connected in the status bar but there is no is absolutely no data transfer till i turn it on and off. And sometimes even that doesn't work and I have to turn of airplane mode. And this happens every 10 mins so I am sure it is no some sort of connection time-out issue
APN settings seem to be fine and such and I am out of ideas.
Could it be a ROM issue? Any suggestions as to what could help?
I am sorry for the horrible typos!
Tried slimsaber but issue persists
Updated the modem to the one for my country and it might help? idk
When ever I'm connected to Cisco or DD-WRT AP's regardless of WPA/WEP/WPA2 I stop getting whatsapp notifcations after a while when the phone is in sleep.
WiFi is on always on mode.
As soon as I wake the device up and go to WhatsApp the notifications appears
or
As soon as i switch WiFi off and 3G connects, the messages in whatsapp appear.
Im running unlocked boot loader, rooted 5.0.1 and decrypted. The problem was there when I was stock too.
Push notification fixer did not help.
Any other suggestions out there?

I'm facing the same exact issue... when i'm connected to the WIFI at work after a while my notifications stop arriving... when i'm connected at home everything works flawlessly... have you found any solution?
Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if I do something wrong^^
First of all, I have a Moto G 2014, Dual Sim which is running on 5.1.1, to be more specific, this ROM. I was using this ROM for about 4 months already so that shouldn't be the issue. My problem is that after my phone connects to the internet, usually using H+. The connection to the internet is working perfectly fine, but after a while of not using the phone it loses the connection. It still tells me that it got a strong H+ connection, but nothing (browser, apps, anything) is able to connect to the internet. Enabling & disabling airplane mode usually fixes the problem. From time to time it also happens, usually when I lost some sort of wifi connection (regardless if I disabled wifi or I got out of range) it happens that it shows full connectivity but with an exclamation mark. This only goes away if I reboot or enable & disable airplane mode again.
Is this issue known/is there any solution to
I have been experiencing the exact same thing as of lately. I thought it was a byproduct of downgrading from (Stock) Marshmallow to (Stock) Lollipop (yes! it's happening even on stock ROM) where at times the WiFi losses connectivity when the phone had been sleeping for awhile...even though I have the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option on under WiFi's advanced settings. I had no idea that it also happens with data connections ! ...as I don't use it (too expensive for me), now I'm uncertain what could be the cause. I can see how this would be an inconvenience if you use a lot of social media apps as I sometimes do not get my WhatsApp messages when this happens and sometimes I don't even receive my Hangouts messages until I open the app manually.
It's strange, at times when my phone sleeps for awhile and it losses connectivity and I wake it, it will reconnect just fine and other times it just goes into this state where it reconnects with full signal strength but with an exclamation mark next to the WiFi icon in the notification bar. When this happens, no matter what I try it stays in this state, I tried turning off WiFi and turning it back on, also forgetting the network and entering the info and reconnecting to it but none of that works. I didn't know that turning on and off airplane mode can help....I'll have to try that one, rebooting the phone was the only solution I found which is just inconvenient and somewhat annoying.
I too, am interested in a proper solution. I don't know why the phone ignores the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option or why at times it connects but have not internet access! It should be noted that it's not a problem with the network, It's not due to an incorrect password or anything like that as I am the one that administers those things and when it happens other WiFi devices such as my Tablet PC, Laptop etc can connect and access the internet just fine and it only happens sometimes on the phone (Moto G 2014). This doesn't seem to happen in Marshmallow...but I hate Marshmallow and I can't remember having this issue on Lollipop post Marshmallow update (how I wish I had never tried out Marshmallow!!!), which is why I thought it was related to downgrading, .......did you downgrade ?
