when inside the hangouts app, or inside the facebook app, or inside the photos app..... or almost any app really...
when I want to go back a screen, I notice sometimes i press the back button, then press the back button again before I go back one screen.
has anyone else noticed this?
Ideally the phone will just push you back one screen fairly instantly when you press the back softkey.
However, I must admit this is not ALWAYS........ i just tried it again, and after pressing back, the phone did indeed go back a screen fairly instantly... I dont understand why sometimes yes and sometimes no.
Has this happened to anyone? also, do any of you think its because of the always-on encryption?
Yes this has been reported and it does it to me randomly but not often. I believe there is a thread already covering the topic

Well I've had my Tilt for a week now and I have been frustrated completely with the Phone App.
First of all, when I am calling a tone prompted location where you have to press the keys to get somewhere (611, corporate voicemail, etc), some of the time the phone will go into "hold" when i press the keys.
Secondly, after a call that i have pressed the keys for tone operation, the phone app will not completely close. the screen will stay half dim and the start bar and task panes are locked out. i can't access any of the icons at the top of the screen. the only button available is the task manager which shows no programs running.
i can pretty much replicate the 2nd problem consistently. does anyone else have this problem? Please try to call into a company say even 611, go through all the tone prompts and see if the phone app closes appropriately afterwards. make sure you are on the phone long enough for the screen to automatically dim.
the only way for me to get past this is to softboot so i can get access to the start menu again. but i'd rather not have to softboot after every phone call =T
Thanks!
Same problem here, any help would be great.
Massiv
disable the lock thing where you have to enter a pin - i think its a bug in the rom
Same problem - but if press the on/off button for the screen twice I do have again access to all icons. Not nice but ....
yeah i was messing around with the phone last night and realized that it has to do with phone lock and figured out if you press the power button to put it to sleep and press it again to wake it up, everything is normal again. it was just a fluke how i found out but i'm glad to know that this isn't only my problem. i was about to do another hard reset on the phone.
i called ATT techsupport and they told me it might be the simcard. can other Tilt owners chime in here. is this a ROM problem or could it be related to a faulty sim?

[edit: can't change the title!! obviously, it should say "keypad NOT showing in phone".....]
a very major, annoying problem.
when i press the call/send button to bring up my phone, phone does come up, except without the number keypad.
so i have to press the button in the bottom center twice to make it come back up. now this is very annoying and makes it pretty much impossible to use the phone with 1 hand on the go (walking or whatever).
now this problem only happens sometimes, other times the keypad does show up as it should. reboots do not always fix the problem.
i'm not sure if it's an issue with the rom or a general phone issue that's common.
any help would be great, if no one else has this problem, i'll try asking the rom cooker.
hey all,
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but the other day I accidentally managed to take a screen cap of my desktop on my phone running xxJPK.
After some experimenting, I noticed that it was the combination of holding BACK and pressing HOME that actually takes the screenshot and stores it in /ScreenCapture on the SD card.
Anyone know if this is a standard feature of the Samsung firmwares? Also, any idea how to CHANGE that combination of keys? Because it's silly; as soon as you touch BACK, you head back to the desktop. You therefore cannot take a screenshot of anything other than the desktop!
Hold down back and then press home. Takes a screenshot (photo click sound) and leaves you where you were. Works perfectly without hassles.

Lol yeah thanks... As I said, I figured out the key combination. However, it doesn't work without hassles. In some applications, pressing BACK instantly executes whatever action BACK is meant to execute. More often than not, this changes the screen that you are attempting to capture.
Example: Handcent SMS. It's impossible to take a screenshot of your Inbox. The instant you press BACK, you are returned to desktop.
These are rare issues I have but I just thought I'd pose the question and see if anyone has any fixes. I have workarounds but still a nuissance and could be an indicator of a deeper problem (perhaps).
Back Button Looping
Sometimes when I hit the back button i begin looping and never get to the homescreen. It usually loops Go SMS --> Go SMS (again) --> Widget Locker in edit mode) then back to GoSMS. If i hit the home button then it brings me back to LauncherPro but does this mean the Launcher crashed? Why does it do this same sequence every time? (It has happened when leaving Plume, Camera, Titanium Backup...basically random apps, always does the same loop sequence when hitting the back button). Anyone else see this issue?
SOD
I had this issue on my TP2 and no one found a definitive solution. Random people experienced it no matter what, some saw it stop, some never saw it at all. Well it seems to have plagued my D3 in a much rarer form. After owning the phone for a few months it has only happened 3 times, and I have to battery pull for things to come back to normal. However the other day it happened while on a phone call...when i moved the phone from my ear the screen wouldnt come back on no matter what. I waited for the call lost tone and still the power button had no effect. Of course i still had the notification LED for an unread SMS which was more taunting me at this point, so again battery pull.
Everything I read dealt with Underclocking or Undervolting but I haven't installed any apps for this. Does LibertyROM or MonsterROM include any of that in their scripts? Are there any other causes out there?
Every once in a while, my recent apps button starts to go crazy. I will be reading a book or playing a game, and suddenly the recent apps will start pressing itself. I have even held the phone in the opposite landscape with nothing near the button and this still happens. Is this a software bug, or do I have a malfunctioning unit?

I would bring it back and return it for another device. You don't want to ignore it thinking it might be a software issue then end up having to get a refurbished replacement if it eventually becomes a problem. Seems like this is one of the hazards of getting one of the first run of devices off the assembly line. Besides, it's not like you've rooted and messed it up with "unauthorized firmware"

I have the exact same problem. I went to return it to an ATT store, but they didn't have any black ones in at the time, so I'll go back after they get black ones in. I have not idea is it is software or hardware (or both) but it seems the recent apps button is hypersensitive and can go off if you have a finger anywhere near (even though not touching) the button, even when your finger is only on the chrome part.
The problem seems worse if "Touch key light duration" is set to "Always on"
