[Q] Cyanogenmod Voice Recording Level - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there,
until now i've tested many kernels and many aosp based custom roms.
So on AOSP Roms the Microphone Level on voice recordings (like whats app voice messages, sound recorder and video camera) is very low.
Low means in this case that the voice recordings are so quiet and noisy that nobody is able to understand any word of it.
Has anyone a fix or solution for that?

Not rrally, you have to tweak mixer_paths on your own. There is a fix (zip) on XDA but it won't work on actual ROMs. Only on KitKat and lollipop

Hi! Thanks for your response. Do you remember where is that fix? I'm still using CM 11 so if it's for KitKat it should work I think, right?

[Q] Call recording?

I was wondering if devs know if it is possible to implement call recording on our X8s. Is it hardware limited? I've been reading about this and it seems that almost no android phones can do this
Good question I'm exciting to the answer
Questions go to the Q&A section!
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
You can find many apps that can record your call conversation, just look at the market.

AllCallRecorder is one of them, and it worked like a charm when I use it . I don´t know if it still working on my current ROM, but as it is free, everybody should try it

Most of them, if any, don't work.

It doesn't work. It only records my voice and not the other party's.
Try 2-Way Call Recorder,
It's free and it record both sides during the call. It working fine on gingerDX

I've just tried it. It doesn't seem to be able to record without using the speakerphone
Hey Dexter,
thought you knew that [Q] threads are for Q&A forum
Thread moved
I kind of thought it would fit better in the dev forum as this is not something that can be done through apps.
I have already let stay in development forums 2 other [DISCUSSION] threads from you because i thought that they have inside somewhat of development but i cannot leave there any kind of thread only because they speak about dev, Q&A is the right place.
My orders as a moderator are to move every thread to Q&A that doesn' implement anything but development, such ROMS, Modules; scripts.

ok, gotcha.
I get a strange way to record phone conversations with the application vRecoder. I think that the loud sound of my voice dynamics falls into the microphone. Companion heard bad at writing, but audible. Better anything than nothing.

can you upload the application ??
Hi!
I've tried several programs and does not work, only my own voice recorded.
But! The original Sony Ericsson 2.1 ROM is fully able to pad sharp 2-Way recording, even with the headset as well.
The 2.2 ROM and the rest is not working
The solution I am also very interested because this function does not only want to stay at the 2.1 ROM.
Sorry for knowledge of English, but translation

Just use market...
search call record..
and try it yourself..
U'll find which one better!
try an app called total recall
If you find an app that can record both sides please post here.
I've tried a few of them but only the one app from market, that said is made for xperia, worked. And only on stock ROM.
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
I am still looking for it but so far I did not find anything
i also tried many but none of them worked perfectly. all recorders failed to record. the listening speaker voice. just records my voice. in stock 2.1 i didnt had this problem.

search on apktop,i think i saw it there the other day
I believe it's a ROM issue.
or perhaps kernel.
It worked with stock ROM and stock kernel, but it didn't work with custom ROM and stock kernel.
but even with stock kernel and stock ROM only one app (among all apps I tested) managed to record both sides with no problem.
What I want to say is, if we want to have working call recording, some of our great devs should have interest to make it possible in kernel/ROM building.
But this is not something a lot people use and call recording is forbidden in some countries (as I understood), so there is not a big interest to get it fixed.
I personally would like to have that option but I don't think I would use it if I had it.

2 Way Call recording on HTC One?

I have been playing around with all sorts of Call Recording apps including the one from Skvalex with Alsa mixer installed and so far i have not been able to get a satisfying result with any of these. Most of the apps don't record the other person and i only hear myself or in best case scenario it records the other person but with barely audible volume.
I have been playing around with settings from direct line recording to mic and also with the API settings etc but no luck so far.
I know there was a fix for the HTC One X that worked apperantly for many people so i am wondering is there something that can be done for the HTC One to have clear conversations recorded via some app?
On my previous phone HTC ONE S i used to be able to record calls just fine before JB and after that it stopped working there as well so i would really like to have this ability back somehow.
So my question: Is there any mod, kernel fix etc that can achieve this?
Any tipps or ideas would be appriciated!
Thanks
So looking at the lack of responses i guess that means there is no solution for this or simply that noone else misses this function :/

Requires a kernel mod and ROM side support (through an app or baked into ROM)
I patched it into the kernel of the incredible S but it looks like there's very little interest.. I haven't seen it for newer devices, or maybe this chip set doesn't support it I don't know
Even if it does support it, its not easy
Thanks for the info even if its not too comforting
Sucks that this feature was working flawlessly on my old One S with ICS and now its imposible to get back for some reason.
Is there already a solution?

I'd donate if someone got it working!
Status ?
Still nothing about 2-way call recording ?
Working well here with soul rom
Sent from HTC One 802w Dual Sim with my hand...
I am interested disperatedly also about call rec kernel mod, but seems to be nothing happen for it.
+1
I came from Htc One X, there was a patch, but for One there is no solution yet, as I know.
EDIT:
I anybody interested, new version of Skvalex Call Recorder (1.5.8.) works flawlessly! Have some new CAF option, and with that recordings are better then on One X with the rec patch. There is trial version on Google Play.

Low volume on AOSP custom roms

Hey guys, I just want to ask a quick question about the volume on our GS3 mini. Do you guys notice the speakers to be much quieter when using AOSP roms such as novafusions cm 11 or cm 12? For me, when i use stock roms i get a much louder sound from speaker so i was wondering if any of you guys have this issue.
Yeah but it doesnt really bother me

Thanks for the reply. Do you know any methods like editing the rom or something to increase the volume.
EDIT: i found some info about a file called mixer_paths.xml where you can edit the volume but i couldn't find the file on our GS3 mini. Is there a similar file that do the same thing?

Nova's releases are quite buggy. the have a lot of reason.. but the are stable for daily use.
the "low in call bug" or low earphone volume bug is one of them. but there is a easy work around.
if you call or get called, FIRST press volume down, then up. volume becomes magically +100% xD
peace.

Call recording For Redmi 4x(India)

I am aware that MIUI 9.2.5 supports native call recording which records all calls but I was looking for the same in the custom ROM like RR6.0 or Pixel experience 8.1 .. etc or any root module which can be flashed on any custom ROM without any problem and achieve what I am looking for because I have tried with multiple apps but nothing works properly failed to record the other person voice. any help will be much appreciated.

I was looking for same for a quite long time, finally found a solution.
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.axet.callrecorder/
First install F-Droid, then install Call Recording app.
and dont change default settings, leave them as it is. then it wil; also record voice of other person on the far end.
