I finally decided I am paying way too much for AT&T and made the switch to Net10's "family plan"
The way it works, is if you activate on auto-refill you get $5 off the first phone and $10 for every phone after that up to 4 so for my 2 lines it's only $85 a month. You can have up to 4 for $165.
I bought the BYOP SIM pack at Dollar General for $15. It comes with an AT&T compatible full sim, AT&T compatible micro, and a T-Mobile compatible full. I used the 2 AT&T sims for my N4 and daughter's GNex (saves $15 for another kit) you have to buy 2 $50 PINs up front to activate. The credits will come for subsequent months but I am sure I can call in and demand the $15 credit through customer service.
Speeds have been the same for my area that I was getting with AT&T with no drop off in coverage at all. I did have an issue "porting" my number but my daughters went through immediately.
Anyone that has multiple lines on ST, Simple Mobile, or anywhere else may benefit from this plan and save some extra cash every month.

As with all Tracfone owned companies it is unlimited* with no real policy set in stone for the true limit.
I know at least 2 people who have used 5+GB in a month without issue.
what speeds would i get with this?

To bad they don't have a set in stone data limit. I would rather it say 5gb then throttled, than leave me wondering.

That's the main issue with all prepaid carriers that offer unlimited. They have a policy but it's not set in stone. Most believe that ST, N10, Tracfone don't actually have the ability to throttle because they don't control the network so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
So net10 works through Tmobile & AT&T? What about APN's.. Does it use the stock ones or its own APN.

5GB on AT&T? Lol..not even close.. Net10 is the same thing as Straight Talk but ST is $5 less per month..not sure what the OP is going on about, probably because I only pay for myself which in that case ST is less expensive..AT&T gets better coverage in buildings due to lower frequency they use than T-Mobile but their data policy is more strict than T-Mobile prepaid and T-Mobiles data is faster.
Think I'll be sticking with T-Mobiles $30/month prepaid plan due to better data and being $20 cheaper than ST is a nice touch.

AT&T also has much better coverage in many areas. Even in dense metropolitan areas like Northern VA and Washington, D.C. I get stronger signal on AT&T, and when going on long car trips, I don't drop down to EDGE or even GPRS, like I did with T-Mobile. It all depends on coverage in your area and your typical usage. I get great in-building coverage on AT&T - often better than Verizon.

OK guys so I've been working in wireless back to the Airiel days. Then voice stream.
I've seen plans come and go. I've seen companies come and go.
I've seen limited data. Unlimited data, and limited data again.
This thread is to post your experience with plans on the nexus 4 to give people the information on what's out there.
Now as a wireless consultant which this is what I do.
I rate and create projects for customer feedback.
Go smart was my last job.
One word..... Sucks!!!
Now if you want to pay $35 for your iPhone on edge its a great deal.
Beyond that its a crappy deal.
I've personally used. Straight Talk... Ehhh OK.
Simple mobile ..... False advertising.
Net 10..... Data issues galore.
Att unlimited prepaid..... With imei hack... Still throttled to 500kbps...
Then we come to TMobile prepaid plan.
Out of everything prepaid I've used.
And this includes Solavei. Don't get me started on mlm wannabes.
The T-Mobile $70 plan directly through T-Mobile is the best plan hands down.
And for the solavei person who will say but ours is unlimited.... I did your consulting affiliate... Its only 4GB of data. And they are having massive billing issues, and not to mention losing people in there customer base.
I give them six months before imploding.
Did you know they are amassing a massive roaming bill.
Back on track.
I get true unlimited data. Everywhere in the u.s.
The new unlimited plan "includes roaming"
I have used 25GB of data this month see screen shots.
If you are a smart wireless consumer for your nexus.
Get this $70 plan and then here is how you save.
Find someone on eBay there are hundreds folks.
Selling $100 prepaid card credits for $69.99
Or even $50 cards for $40
Its all over eBay.
Right now im on the $70 plan and I pay about $45 a month average because of where I buy the refill cards.
So if you have a nexus 4.
This is the best plan on prepaid for power users.
I've achieved speeds over 30mbps and average 25mbps
That's better than Verizon lte and AT&T LTE postpaid plans.
This very well could be the best plan in wireless post paid or prepaid in wireless.
Tell me what you think.
And your experiences with other companies on the nexus 4.
There is a cheaper business plan.
$54.99 total cost I'm looking at but its post paid.
On the Dev side. I'm looking to try to improve the radio issue.
Using a optimus g hack.
Stay tuned
Screen shots attached.
Oh one last thing.
$7.00 a month insures your nexus 4 on prepaid.
No other mvno does that.
Sounds awfully like an advertisement. Try to be less biased from the start and condense your information.

Sounds like it. And I looked at the T-mobile option and most aren't going for any measurable discount. As for comparing them to straight talk. Im on T-mobile directly, my girlfriend is on ST. Both of us on Nexus 4s. Our service and speeds are identical (and I can attest to LTE speeds on T-Mobiles network). Straight talk is nothing more than a virtual operator that either uses AT&T or T-Mobile's network.
There's just one problem with you post, T-Mobile's coverage sucks balls. Yeah its cool to get 20Mbps but if your not getting that you're usually on edge, which is at least half the time. I'll stick with straight talk att.
Source: I had T-Mobile before straight talk.

There's already a T-Mobile discussion thread.
The intricacies of cell phone plans aren't really specific to the Nexus 4, anyway.

Good news if you're a Sprint customer. Expect big changes within the coming 1-2 years. If you follow the stock market then you may have just heard that Sprint was recently purchased by SoftBank. The FCC has officially approved the deal now. In another transitional move, Sprint has purchased the entirety of Clearwire.
The big news is that SoftBank will be giving Sprint $5 billion this year to expand its 4G LTE network to compete directly with Verizon and AT&t.
Add that to the fact that Sprint now owns the Clearwire technology and can acquire all of their towers and things are looking pretty positive for Sprint customers all in all. Obviously this stuff doesn't happen over night, but give it 1-2 years time and you will see Sprint leading the way.

No worries.. That thread saying the plans are more expensive are incorrect.
If you have a SINGLE line with Sprint then you're more than likely on the 'Everything Data 450' plan, which costs $79.99 a month before tax. To stay at the same monthly price you should just switch to the 'Unlimited, My Way' plan which costs you $50 for unlimited talk and text, and $30 for the unlimited data. $50 + $30 = $80.. which is what the Everything Data 450 plan costs right now.
It's actually a BETTER option, because now you get unlimited calling. With the Everything Data 450 plan, you only get 450 anytime minutes. With the new plan at the SAME price you get unlimited EVERYTHING. Or, you can choose the 'My All-in' plan for $110 month and get unlimited data, text, and calling PLUS a 5GB hotspot add-on for your phone.
The price scheme is the same for 2 phones as well. The only people who are gonna end up paying MORE are the ones who have 3 or more lines on their accounts. But remember, not ALL phones will require unlimited data, and some phone may be basic phones. So the plan will be cheaper.
If you have multiple SMARTphones with Sprint and want unlimited data, here is a breakdown of what you'll be paying with the new plans:
2 phones currently on the 'Everything Data Share 1500' plan = $149.99
2 phones on the new 'Everything, My Way' plan = $150 per month but now you get unlimited calling
3 phones currently on the 'Everything Data Share 1500' plan = $179.98
3 phones on the new 'Everything, My Way' plan = $210 per month but now you get unlimited calling
4 phones currently on the 'Everything Data Share 1500' plan = $209.97
4 phones on the new 'Everything, My Way' plan = $260 per month but now you get unlimited calling
But like I said, everyone with only 1 or 2 lines of service will NOT notice price differences unless they switch to the "My All-in" plan, but that's totally up to them.
Hope this helps.

Believe me...the grass is not greener in the other side.
Verizon service may be the most reliable but they lock their devices down to the max. They're always the first to up their prices too. I had the Verizon S4 and it lacked some of the basic features on the S4 that other variants have, like blocking mode.
I was with Sprint like 5 years ago before I switched to ATT and then Verizon. Based on what my family members told me about Sprint being better than before, I switched back to Sprint yesterday. And to my amaze they have 4G here and they're 3G is not as bad as it was years ago. Heck, ATT still doesn't have 4G here where in live.
I'm gonna try and wait it through to see what big changes Sprint comes out the gate with.

Well for my kids lines, I normally buy their phones off Craigslist, so I don't have a etf on their lines. As far as my wife and my lines, I pay the etf... But I cancel my line first then my wife's line in the next billing cycle. That way both etf's don't end up on the same bill.
Then I resale the phones my wife and I was using and recoup some of what I have to pay on the etf.

I love my sprint service after network vision. The data speeds are great. The question is how is sprint going to fix the large roaming areas. I hope softbank can fund sprint to fix this. Look at floridas map.
The ONLY thing that concerns me is the throttling of data speeds. They have long touted not throttling. And now they are. I've been telling everyone thatnsoftbank was a very bad idea. It was obvious but people just seen the couple billion to be spent on LTE. Problem is, Sprint is no longer Sprint. We are Softbank and Softbank ONLY. Don't expect anything to be how it was. All new business strategy and leadership. Verizon prices with slow speeds and far less coverage.
Sent from my SGS4. Go Blue!! Buck the Fuc keyes!!
Actually id go so far as to say that a single line plan for myself would cost a good bit more with the new plans. i have a 25% discount that gets applied to my first line, with the new plan that discount is dropped to first line for mins etc then i have to pay the full amount on data.

Larger markets will get LTE first. We only just NOW are getting enhanced 3G where I live. But, realistically, thanks to the SoftBank deal I predict most markets will have LTE within the next 1 1/2 years. It's definitely not an overnight switch.
Remember the EDGE network, a.k.a. 2G? Remember how long it took for everyone to get 3G when you first heard about it?

Ok, not sure where you got that information from.
The LTE roll will eventually be nationwide, but you can't expect the whole nation to make the switch overnight. LARGER markets will get LTE first which makes sense. Who do you expect to have LTE first... New York City, or some little town in northern Washington?
The switch will take place piece by piece and step by step with priority going to markets with a higher demand for 4G LTE. Like I said in my previous post, I expect 90% of all markets to have LTE within the next 1 1/2 years.

I hope so, 2 years ago.... a lady from Sprint swore to my bf that we would have 4g at the end of the year........nope nothing....I hardly even get 3g (in some locations)
I don't care what anyone says and no one will convince me otherwise. Sprint's network upgrade vision has been/is terrible. They should of been doing LTE like others instead of wasting time/money on WiMax. T-Mobile has done in a year what Sprint should have been able to do years ago. I've been with Sprint for a while and am really getting fed up with it all. I'm lucky to have LTE (about 50%) where I live but we never got WiMax and the 3G speeds suck and always have. The new pricing better not mess with my corporate rates or I'm jumping ship.

Let's just say I know people. They are not doing upgrades based on population. New York and LA would have been the first places to get LTE if that was the case. Not to mention there is different LTE providers per region of the country. Such as Alcatel/Lucent, Samsung, Ericsson. It is by whole markets not cities. Example the whole Upper Central Valley of California is a market. Which goes from Oregon to Stockton to Reno and beyond. Sacramento will be upgraded last because it is harder to do work in a major city and get building permit approval etc. So smaller suburbs such as Rocklin and Roseville already have LTE going and the city of Sacramento has nothing.

Lycobile prepaid, they have a 23 dollar unlimited talk text and data plan (100 mb LTE speeds). This is the cheapest plan I could find and they have pretty good service. Not as good as Verizon in my area but much better than att. They just recently added picture messaging and it'll be perfect if that can add some sort of Wi-Fi calling because when in my basement service is bad but not a big deal

4 lines
1000 shared min (minutes never get above 200)
Unlimited texting on all lines
unlimited 4g (truly unlimited with no slowdowns on 2 lines)
All for $120
Will be buying off the Play Store
Gonna be using my N6 on my prepaid $30 T-Mo 5GB/100min plan.
Same here, TMO 5GB LTE /100min Walmart plan. Last month i used 2 minutes... A lot more on hangouts though.
Its already a nano sim so i don't have to change SIM(the new kits provide 2 converters to micro and standard sim)

Yes it is unlimited data/messaging with 100minutes of talk and you have 5GB of 4G data, then its slowed down to 2G speeds. Plus you can use the hotspot feature if you have an unlocked phone(now iam using an unlocked iphone 4 until my nexus 6 arrives)

I'll be using mine on Verizon since I already have service there. But I also own a metro pcs family plan and I may put myself on there when I get tired of Verizon prices. Although I have unlimited data on Verizon.

Just those 2 for real unlimited.
Not on one of the big 4 here in the USA with your shamu? Since the Nexus 6 is mostly not carrier subsidized, I'm thinking this is a good place to find out what MVNO's people are using to save money If so, please tell us who your with, what plan your on with them, and why your with them!! And anything else you care to share both good and bad...
In the last year I have been on the following MVNO's...
Ting - Sprint
Ting - T-Mobile
Straight talk - T-Mobile
Straight talk - Verizon
Straight talk - AT&T
Google Project Fi
Cricket - AT&T
Page Plus - Verizon
Verizon Prepaid
AT&T Gophone
And have signed up for Harbor Mobile AT&T and Red Pocket Mobile Verizon. Haven't received the Sim's yet for the last 2.. Let me know if you have questions on any of these. Will be happy to report my results
In addition to that, I was in contract with the real big red dollar sucking Verizon and also was on the real big Orange AT&T on a company business plan.
I used to be on ting, then straight talk, then project Fi, then Verizon prepaid, now I'm on post paid since my wife gets a state of California employee discount and California now taxes prepaid. I liked ting and project Fi until I moved up to an area being ruled mostly big red only. I enjoyed project Fi, but had issues when I forced it to roam on Verizon. My phone number would change to a whole different area code!

I can say the same for FI. I am still on FI with one of my phones and I like that fact that I can, with a little doing have 1 SIM card that I can make work on all 4 of the big carriers here in the USA in the event of really needing it. I also noticed that when roaming on Verizon that the outbound caller ID was different... Not sure why. I also really like Wifi calling and texting, it works so well. It also works great when traveling internationally and has very good rates. At least in Europe where I have tested it.
I started out on H2O Wireless because it was cheap, but low data cap and slow speeds sent me looking elsewhere. I am now on Straight Talk (AT&T) $45/month 5gb LTE and it's awesome. It was between that and the Verizon ST plan, but Verizon throttles MVNO data speeds, so AT&T won out. Just gotta remember to remove the sim card when I update so I don't get AT&T's stupid app on my phone.

Ha, been there done that with Straight talk.. Your right on!! Did you know that Straight talk now has a 10gb plan for 55$? Pretty cool.
I'm currently on Sprint Framily postpaid- $45 (actually around $52 with taxes) for unlimited data + talk/text with Verizon roaming. Over the years I've used everything from Virgin Mobile, Straight Talk, T-Mobile prepaid $30 5GB data plan, T-Mobile postpaid, MetroPCS, Project Fi and Verizon Prepaid.
I'm on Google's Project Fi. Love everything about it - switching between T-Mobile and Sprint, occasional Google's automatic VPN when connecting to open Wi-Fi, low monthly bill (staying under $35 p/month) with heavy Wi-Fi use, Wi-Fi calling and seamless switching to cellular, etc.
I've used freedompop off and on, great service and you can't beat free

Woah that sounds like a great plan. I'm currently on Fi, I might just jump to Straight Talk. Now do I go CDMA with VZN or GSM with AT&T..hmmmm.

Yeah!! Its brand new and works great!!! Def go with AT&T. With that you get simultaneous voice and data and uncapped data speeds. With the VZW one, you have no data while on the phone and your speed it capped at 6x6 up and down.

FI is truly great! With root access you can force roam to all USA carriers. If you live where Tmo and Sprint have good coverage and aren't a heavy data user, its a no brainer!!

it's sprint based so take that as you may.
it's truly free (i haven't been feed at all after activation like 8 months ago ) however for free you only get 500MB data, 500txt and 200 minutes. you will get nickle and dimed at every turn and that's their bussiness model so if you understand the charges is fine.
here is the low down: they say 200 minutes and 500 texts, unlike others with which you can assume some other things you can't here: no voicemail, that's extra, calls are over data through VOIP, infrastructure calling and texting is extra, mms isn't included, that's extra, so on, you get the picture, 200 min 500 text 500 data. that's it.
that said, their fees for "the basics" are pretty reasonable: 7.99 gets you voice-mail, mms, infrastructure, tethering and data roll over. and unlimited minutes+text is only 10.99 so for $19 you get a pretty decent grandparent phone with 500 megs, 2gigs is $20 and 4 gigs is $35. which is sill cheaper than some...
i love using freedompop for my "leftover" devices, i use sprint ($45/mo for unlimited through framily) as my main phone but since I'm a phone geek i like to have extras, so once i upgrade i keep them alive on freedompop, i also have a "free" tablet from sprint that once the contract ended i put on freedompop. great experience so far.
i just realized I sound like a sales person lol but i promise I'm not. (and a sales person wouldn't say nickle and dime)

Pretty sure no LTE roaming. Just 3g or 1x. Luckily where I live Sprint has a great LTE footprint.
I am on Metro PCS. It is $60 a month with taxes and fees included for true unlimited data for the phone. No cap and no throttling. It also includes 8gb of hotspot data. It runs on tmobile towers. I have had att and verizon through straight talk, but I really like the fact that I dont have to worry about my data usage anymore.
T-Mobile's $80 unlimited high-speed, 7gb tethering. For a while I was angry with this because when I signed up I was on the $70 unlimited/5gb tethering plan, but for the first couple weeks I was borrowing a phone that I couldn't root (not because it was borrowed, but because the USB connection was effed and couldn't USB tether), so I exceeded the plan and had to change it. And that's when they decided to eliminate the $70 plan and go with the $80 one. But now the same plan is $95, so I'm considering myself lucky. And frankly 7gb tethering suits me better, because I like to play a lot of games and sometimes exceed the 5gb from watching videos for free gold/gems/energy/etc (I keep my SIM in my S4, USB tethered to my computer, with my "main" phone on wifi).
I've thought about switching to MetroPCS. But at this point, with the price increase in T-Mo's plan, I don't want to "risk" switching to save a few bucks because if it doesn't work out it'd cost me more in the end to switch back. I'd probably use Google Project Fi if I had "proper" internet at home, but right now, my phone is my internet. PdaNet was the best $8 I've ever spent.
So can any one please confirm that with the Nexus 6 on Metro PCS... Does WiFi calling and VoLTE both work OK?
