Hey Everyone,
It's become kinda obvious now that i really need to change out all my old 1A chargers for 2A chargers now.
The one that comes with the phone is nice - if I didn't need the adapter to go with it. Now it's huge and chunk.
I'd like a pretty small charger, like the wonderful 1A TC U260 I got with my mytouch 4g.
I'm considering the following:

That first wall charger looks like something I'd buy. The charger and adapter I got from handtec is just so huge and ugly

Can I use another USB cable with the original note 2 charger and still get 2A from it? I feel like the USB cables for my sgs2 fit better in my note 2 than the one that comes with it.
none of those car chargers will work if you plan on using the phone

I have done a lot of research on this. If it is compatible with ANY apple products then it will not charge with your cable due to the USB standard not being the same. You will have to either mod the product or the cable to get the full 2a charge. Plus I believe the Powergen and the griffin are only 2a total output so if you are charging 2 devices it will only be 1a and 1a ports. You need to look for a 4a total output. I have yet to find any that work. If anyone can find one please let me know. Charging with a 1a charge and using a GPS you will lose power as it does not charge fast enough. You need a full 2a. p.s. had to remove the outside links because I havent posted 10x yet.

This is not quite true.
I believe Apple only has high speed charging if you don't use an 'apple' USB port, similar to how you don't get high speed charging if you use a USB data cable versus a charging cable.
To be 100% I don't understand how it works exactly.
I can tell you, however, the following:
1) My Griffin charger happily charged my galaxy note even going full blast (GPS/bluetooth/screen on), and I bought some iphone chargers to help my friends out, and they charged their phones (slowly) with my charger too.
2) The powergen 10W charger I put above also happily (and quickly) charges my Note II going full blast.
It actually has a different 'Apple' vs 'non apple' USB port. Non-apple stuff may not charge in the apple slot, but that's not a big deal to me. I have only one phone. My iphone friends are usually the ones running out of power anyway, so it's kind of nice one side is applely.

I have many 2a carchargers that worked great with a gs3 even an iPad that won't provide enough juice to the note to actually charge it while doing intensive tasks like mhl out in the car.
if anyone finds a car charger that actually works post it out we need a fast charge custom kernel.
I have a thread in the general note Sprint forum thatwe are discussing this as well and it seems no charger will work but an adapter I'm waiting on May

One Car Charger that works

Whether a charger works or not depends on what DCP (Direct Charge Port) modes it supports.
I suspect the GN2 uses Shorted DCP, where the USB data lines (D+ and D-) are shorted. Apple chargers sense 2.4Vdc on these lines to allow the charger to ramp to full current. Asus and some Sammy TABs use 1.2Vdc to enable full current. This is to distinguish real USB ports from chargers, and to "encourage" you to use the manufacturer's provided charger.
It would be nice if someone can confirm what DCP mode the GN2 actually uses. Not that the charger manufacturer's publish what modes they support.... However, the charger IC manufacturer's (TI, Maxim) are beginning to get good at DCP autodetection which is going to make it much easier for us consumers.
As far as finding chargers that work,
I bought a 2.1A dual car charger at Walmart, model "i-xt" that works well with the GN2 and is listed as "on AC" when connected. Implying full current.

You don't have to worry about your phone being damaged. Phones have built-in protection for over-voltage and over current. 5Vdc is proper voltage for USB devices anyway (Output 5V, as listed in the specs). The catch is if the phone allows full current charging. That depends on the DCP mode of the charger. I'm not positive what mode the GN2 truly supports. If you already have the charger, you can determine if full current is being used by checking under settings -> battery while connected to the charger. If you see the "On AC" verbiage, the phone is in full current mode. If not, the charger is limiting to 500ma and acts like a standard USB port. You phone will still charge, but it will take longer.

So I understand the shorting D+/D- internally or via charging cable to enable "AC" charging. I understand that Apple and apparently Sammy/Asus use voltage on those lines to signal the requirement for full current. Here's my question: if my Note2 is connected to brand X charger and it says AC charging in the settings under battery, does that mean I am theoretically pulling the max current of that brand X charger. This of course assumes the battery is empty enough, temperatures of the battery and charger are low enough, etc...
What I'm getting at is does having a shorted charger or cable with an android on an iCharger give us full iPower? Gawd that sounds horrible doesn't it! :silly: Or, if you're getting "AC" from the iCharger is it really only 1.1A or 1.6A (just tossing those numbers out there) vice the 2.1A it would be charging an iPad at?
Greetings! I was wondering what is the maximum rated input current of the Xperia Z. There's no indication of it's rated input current anywhere on the phone. The supplied charger is rated at 1.5A and I was wondering if a higher amperage charger above 5V 1.5A (such as of those catered to tablets/ipad) would charge the battery at a faster rate before investing in one.
Anyone with any experience using a higher amperage charger on the Z could advice on any notable improvements in charging time as well.

Used a Nexus 7 charger rated at 2A and it charged fine with no detrimental effects. Charging time is about 1.5, hours from 10% to full.

While increasing the Amps will result into fast charging... the bad part is that it kills your battery life overall.
I've tried Sony charger rated output 1500mA
and Galaxy tab charger 2A
phone on, screen off
in 10 minutes charge, both added , just the same, 10% juice.
may try it longer next time.

Great findings! I guess it's safe to say that there is no notable reduction in charging times even with the provision of higher amperage chargers, and that the Xperia Z's power management IC can only take in 1500mA at max.

Charging at higher amperage would generate more heat and this increase in heat would degrade the battery cells at an increased rate, thus reducing the lifetime of the battery in the long run
Well unless you value your charging time (or loss of usable time) more than the cost of premature replacement of battery, then quick charging is for you. Personally, given a choice, I'd rather not charge at a higher current unless necessary, especially when time is the essence. (;

Erm I'm fairly sure that whatever amp you use the phone will only draw a set amount I used a 2500mah charger with my old phone for two years no difference in charging time nor degraded battery life or iverheating , just meant I had one charger for everything lol
That's correct, it's impossible to over-charge or charge too quickly a device by using a charger with a higher current rating than the original charger. Current flow is a RESULTING property of a particular voltage applied across a particular resistance. Applying too much voltage will usually be detrimental, but you cannot SUPPLY too much current. The device will draw as much as it needs unless it is limited by the charger's maximum current rating first.
I've been using an old Blackberry charger rated at much less than 1000mA. It might take a bit longer to charge, but I love the long, supple lead that comes with it.

My Xperia Z came with (1) Power plug-adapter with USB port + (2) USB to Micro-USB cable + (3) Docking station.
The (1) has Output = 1500 mA written on it, the (3) has 1800 mA on it.
Questions:
Can the USB cable transfer more than 500 mA? From reading USB page on Wiki, looks like it can do 1500 mA - 5000 mA when not transferring data so I should not worry about the cable?
What is the point of including a 1800 mA docking station + 1500 mA power plug? Does the station only charge at 1500 mA when connected with that plug or am I missing something?

The charging chip it self support higher current by default, but the manufacturer chooses the charger depending on different factors, design of the phone, capacity of the battery and also their stock chargers available... they will choose the best charger to match... in most cases it will be rated lower than what the charging chip is capable of...
the charging chip has it's limits also... using regular USB cables will only provides the standard current... I've used same amperage chargers as the orignal but with different cable and charging was slower... when I switched to the original cable charging was faster and had the same time as original charger ( same amperage )
When you use the original cable and higher current charger then you will have faster charging...
My Xperia arc came with socket charger rated at 950mA and a car charger rated at 1200mA... and the car charger is really faster but only when I use the original cable, when I used a longer cheap cable the charging was actually slower... even when I'm charging non-Sony devices ( like my Note 2 ) when I use original cable ( wether Samsung or Sony one ) charging is always faster... I don't know why it might be a way to protect the standard usb cable from over-current as the standard USB current is 500mA, so the charger will normally send the usual current unless the device requested higher current then it will negotiate with the charger to send higher current the original cables might have something like impedance between some pins so the phone will detect them as original then they will negotiate the charger to send higher current or the charger might actually use the other pins to send higher current but the phone will only use these pins when it detect the original cable... if not then it will not use these pins and will have regular 500mA charging... I've always faced this when dealing with other cables... now when I want longer cable I just use USB extension cable with the original cable and it will work !

- Yes, the cable can easily transfer more than 500mah. No worries.
- It means the docking station is rated for a maximum of 1800mah - so if you buy a 2100mah charger, the docking station may get warm and if it fails Sony won't cover it under warranty. If you use the 1500mah power plug, then the docking station supplies the 1500mah - it's just a pass-through. The docking station itself doesn't really have additional circuitry.

Not sure why the dock would be rated at 1800, unless they've fitted it with some circuitry, a simple micro usb to prongs would do.
I charge mine using the adapter that came with my note tablet which is 2a and also with the 2a output of an external battery pack.

Yes, they're right to write the 1.8A there.
because, not all microUSB survive to deliver more than an amps. They maybe melt. especially the cheap one that have very small and loose contact area.
the pogo pins too... Not so easy deliver 1.8A with pogo pins...
that's why intel processor, have 1000+ pins, but almost 300pins are for power supply only (GND and VCC). Although the chip is only 1.25volts, but the current sometimes about a hundred amps (Core 2 Extreme, Core i7)

Wrong. If you connect a 2.1A supply, you'll see no difference.
Charging rate is set by the phone, as long as the power supply feeding it doesn't "brown out" under the load.
2.1A, 3.1A - doesn't matter, the phone will draw less (I'll need to drain my battery down a bit to determine how much less, it's often less than whatever the wall charger is rated.)
There is a possibility that when it sees voltage on the pogo pin connectors, it increases charge current to a different value than on AC via the USB port. The ext charger handling in the pm8921 driver is really convoluted and difficult to read.
I've managed to find some chargers (both car and wall) that will charge with 1800mA (according to Galaxy Charging Lite app).
I have not managed to find an aftermarket cable that will charge at more than 1amp. Anyone know of an aftermarket cable that actually is capable of 1800mA? I've tried nGear and monoprice, and while they are very well constructed cables, they will only charge at 1amp or less with the n7100

I'm breaking your rules (gasp) but as far as I'm aware, it's not the cable that manages the charge, it's the power adapter that feeds the usb, right? I've used all sorts of random cables on my travels for work, but always sticking to my 2+ amp output charger, and they've always worked.

Find a very short cable and you'll see rates up to 2100 ma (as measure by battery monitor widget). I use the short usb cable that came with my jambox combined with the the phones stock charger. The charger gets so hot due to the high current that I worry if it might burn out. The cable is very short, like 6 inches. I use this one when i need a quick bump before going out.
At this low of voltage plus high current, the shielding on most cables is not enough to protect against the voltage fluctuations caused by the high magnetic field. The longer the cable the more shielding is needed. Additionally, the cable shielding gets less effective as the cable gets older due to general wear. My original usb cable can only due around 740 - 1250ma, where it used to do 1800ma when new nearly 2 years ago.
If you could find a cable where there the positive and negative wires are separated in parallel strands like traditional AC power cords, it would also help. I have a cheap charger with built in cord like this and it charges consistently fast.

Most USB cables will work with the charger, but some cables (usually longer or smaller gauge wires) will restrict the charge to a lower amperage. I still haven't quite figured out how the phone knows what cable is being used, because, realistically, in a simple DC circuit, the consequence of using a cable that is too small is heating up or burning out. A cable that is too small alone will not prevent too much amperage from going through itself. This is why they invented fuses. Somehow the phone detects the gauge/length of cable being used and restricts the amperage being pulled from the charger by changing its own resistance on the circuit.

Find a very short cable and you'll see rates up to 2100 ma (as measure by battery monitor widget). I use the short usb cable that came with my jambox combined with the the phones stock charger. The charger gets so hot due to the high current that I worry if it might burn out. The cable is very short, like 6 inches. I use this one when i need a quick bump before going out.
At this low of voltage plus high current, the shielding on most cables is not enough to protect against the voltage fluctuations caused by the high magnetic field. The longer the cable the more shielding is needed. Additionally, the cable shielding gets less effective as the cable gets older due to general wear. My original usb cable can only due around 740 - 1250ma, where it used to do 1800ma when new nearly 2 years ago.
If you could find a cable where there the positive and negative wires are separated in parallel strands like traditional AC power cords, it would also help. I have a cheap charger with built in cord like this and it charges consistently fast.

I suspect you're right. The impedance of a cable is the only thing that would change over a period of time that would result in a cable that could once pull 2A to start pulling less than that. Still, it would be nice to have a list of chargers/cables that consistently pull 2A before dropping $15-$30 on one of them. There exists such a list on this forum, but it is filled with comments like "It's good enough for me", without any real data as to what performance they are getting. Hence my rules above.
The charge rate depends on your kernal not the cable. I use Agni and get over 2 amp charges from a USB cable I paid 12 cents shipped for on eBay.
I purchased this cable about two weeks ago and it delivers!! I can charge my 9300mah Zero Lemon battery from 0-100 in just under 4 hours. Stock battery in about 1.5-2hrs. Of course I'm using a 2.1 amp charger, but NONE of my other cables come close. I'm averaging 1800-1900mah charge rate with it. Next highest rate cord only gets about 1200 max. I plan on ordering 2-3 more. $5 and change with PRIME.

My 6ft one has a ferrite end and printed on it: 28agw/1p and 26awg/2c. It could handle 2A just fine, but this requires any wall outlet adapter that can output that amperage. The oem outlet adapter that comes with the phone says 2.0A output, but you can fine any 'reliable' one that has 2.0A output.
if the original cable is not 1800mA, there must be a reason

Got similar problems as the OP. I wanted to charge my phone in my car and using the phone as a navigation device without depleting the battery (which occured a few time).
Tried several usb cables, even did some mods like shorting the white and green data wire in the cabel at the phone side, but that all didn't help.
Then i came to Kopi who sells usb cables which can deliver a full current.

Download galaxy charging lite from the play store and check the incoming current. It's the same for microusb 2.0 & 3.0.
Maximum of 1800, usually charges at 1200 w/ screen on.
If you claim that charging is faster with the multipurpose cable, show screenshots.

I have both s5 and note3, tested with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 charger. It's just same output, time or charging current. Transfer speed, I didn't know because my PC not have USB 3.0 port

Of course, it should go without saying that if you use a power cable with a conventional USB 2 port, you are circumventing the safety protection and may damage your USB port.

This is interesting, my phone will recognize my (2 amp) AC charger as AC, yet with data cable it'll only go 550 ma according to that app (450 if recognized as USB). If I switch to a charging cable it'll take 1.2 amp from the same charger. Strange logic.
Well maybe its just me but my phone actually DOES seem to charge faster with the new 3.0. Like a lot faster.
Maybe it is "placebo" as you say but for me it really is faster. Just my 2cents.

It's the charger that should be shorting out the data lines, not the cable. I would think that a cable that did this would pose a risk that, if inadvertently used to connect a phone to a regular USB port instead of a charger, could cause the phone to think it can draw more power than the port can safely provide, and subsequently overload and damage the USB hub.
Whereas a charger that shorts out the data lines can be used with any standard USB cable.
Maximum power ratings are a different matter, though. AFAIK, standard USB 2.0 connectors only need to be rated at 1.5A current to be compliant, but charging ports and cables (i.e. those compliant with the Battery Charging Specification) need to be rated to handle at least 5A - although, this is in spite of the maximum draw of 1.5A anyway.

This is about what I get with my supplied wall charger and cable. Its nice being able to use the phone and still get a charge at the same time. My Nexus 5 would only maintain a charge level and not gain any charge when being used.
One day last week I forgot my spare battery and had to use my mini USB cable I have at work connected to my computer and it took most of the day to go from 15% to full charge. The S5 has the best battery life out of any phone I've had so far but I wish they would release 4.4.4 for us as I saw a noticeable improvement in battery life with my Nexus 5 when i put 4.4.4 on it.
USB 3.0 Charging
So as most of you have come to realize, there is no difference in the basic way that USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 cables carry current to the device. The extra pins in a 3.0 cable are for full duplex, (bi-directional data transfer) at really fast speeds, up to 4 GB/s.
USB output is rated at 5V. The output current from different brand computers might reach 600ma. The current is regulated to avoid overheating the cable and computer power supply. The extra twisted pair of wire in a USB 3.0 cable enable a bit more current handling... up to 900ma.
The reason your newer Samsung charges the device faster is that the new power adapter (mine is white) has a current output of 2.0 Amps. The older power adapters had a rated output of 750ma, 3/4 of an amp. Result.. The new power adapter system facilitates fast charging.
I'm guessing that they spec'd the higher output charger to match the higher power usage profiles of the latest Samsung Galaxy products. I remain a fan of slow to medium charging rates to preserve the life and charge cycles of the battery. High rates yield more heat which can shorten the life of the cell structure.

Take heed of this response - it's the most useful one here. There is no difference between charging via a usb 2 and usb 3 cable as long as both are decent quality (recommended 23awg gauge minimum for 2amps).
The extra usb 3 pins don't carry any additional power wires.
Ensure you're using good quality cables as mentioned above - look for 23awg (gauge of the wires within the cable) printed on the cable (all original and genuine Samsung cables are rated at this) and a 2A charger (again, recommended to use original and genuine Samsung charger) and there will be absolutely no difference between usb 2 and 3 cables.

Usb 2 cables max amp is 450mha and I have tried 3 different cables a Motorola ,my HTC one X and a plain usb 2 cable that I have .All 3 of them gets 400 or 450 mha.
But when I use the original Samsung usb 3 ,a cheap China usb 3 or my black usb 3 from my external drive the Samsung let's 1800 mha to pass by.
All test are done with the original Samsung charger and a cheap 5 dollar one which I don't use much because when the phone is not charging it makes a weird sound.
And the only way what I say is not true is that my s5 detects the kind of usb I have and limits the charge which in result is the same thing.

There is no limit and this guy has no idea what he's talking about. There are no extra power wires in the usb cable - in both a usb2 & usb3 cables there is a positive and negative wire which provides power to the device period.
FYI, voltage and amps are 2 completely separate measurements which only compounds the stupidity of his response...

Tronsmart 3 Port 42W Quick Charge 2.0 Wall Travel Charger
Overview
I have accumulated a lot of devices that for better or worse need to be charged during the day sometimes all at once. For this reason, I usually carry a small battery pack or multi-port wall charger, along with some cables, adapters, and various other things. Tronsmart made a nice compact wall charger that is ideal for people who travel or on the go. I usually have a mullti-port charger or two at home (Tronsmart Titan 90W 5 port hub on my desk), and another multi-port hub on my nightstand. I always need more ports for one reason or another hence why I like having the most compact, powerful chargers that I can.

Tronsmart makes one of my favorite looking chargers out there. The edges have a glossy finish to them that leads you into matte colored body. On one side you will see Tronsmart’s logo along with a small LED light that will light up to indicate when you’re charging. If you look at the opposite side the rated inputs/outputs for each port are specified along with a label for which ports have VoltIQ, and QC 2.0. One of the best features of this charger besides its 3 ports is the folding plug which makes it ideal for traveling/on the go.
Charging
The Quick Charge 2.0 port will allow you to charge any compatible QC 2.0 enabled device at a range of voltages/rates depending on how low the battery is. I was able to charge my S7 Edge at 9V/1.67A just like the stock Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger does. Since the S7 Edge is only rated for 9V/1.67A (15.03W) it won’t charge at a faster rate than that no matter how powerful the charger. The other two ports use VoltIQ which is another way of saying it will tell the device to charge at it’s maximum 5V rate up to 2.4A. I tested this with my S7 Edge and was able to get ~5V/1.7A which is the same output as the factory charger at the battery level I tested. Since this charger is rated for 42W which means each port can output its maximum rate simultaneously for maximum charging efficiency with multiple devices.

QC 2.0: 5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
2x Standard Port (with VoltIQ): 5V/2.4A each
Summary
This is yet another great charger from Tronsmart (I have a lot of others that were reviewed as well) that has a nice overall design. This charger has a lot to offer in a small package coupled with a solid build that should last for a long time.
Tronsmart 4 Port Quick Charge 2.0 54W Car Charger
Overview
There is always a time that I need to charge things as I mentioned above when outlets are limited. I have a dash camera in my car that occupies one of my power outlets, so I only have 1 other easily accessible place to plug in a charger. When I go on road trips it’s nice to be able to charge my phone as well as my wife’s along with a tablet or two thanks to the wide array of ports offered with this charger.

The charger is made from plastic, but it has a nice texture to it just like the tri-port wall charger. I’ve owned and used another Tronsmart car charger (Type-C/Type-A) since December without any issues. It has really come in handy over the past couple of months thanks to its versatility, just like this one will. While this charger is quite large it packs a punch with its 4 ports while still compact for what it offers. It’s not easy to fit a large number of ports in a charger that has to fit in a confined area, but I like the overall way Tronsmart designed this one. I had no issues fitting the charger in my car, and using all of the ports, but that depends on where your outlet is located.
Charging
I tested each of the ports simultaneously with 3 of my phones, and a battery pack to ensure the charger worked as intended. I had no issues charging all 4 devices from the charger making this ideal for anyone that needs to make use of their car charger.

Summary

Tronsmart 36W Dual Port Quick Charge 2.0 Car Charger
Overview
This charger is a much more compact, but still versatile dual port QC 2.0 enabled (on both ports) car charger. The overall quality/materials remain the same as the previous 4 port car charger which is a good thing. I switched from my Type-C/Type-A 33W car charger to this one in order to see how it works, and because I can still charge both my S7 Edge and Nexus 6P from it. So far over the past couple days of using this one I haven’t encountered any issues, but I will update the OP if I do.

Build & Design
The ports are colored (green or blue usually indicate QC 2.0 on Tronsmart chargers) while the back ports are the standard VoltIQ. For this particular one, both ports are green which is indicative of a QC 2.0 charger. There is ample spacing between both ports to accommodate any size cable that I have including: Tronsmart, Choetech, Aukey, Samsung, Google, i-Orange, Asus, Anker and many others. I haven’t found a set of cables that won’t work side-by-side in this charger. Unlike other chargers, this one doesn’t sit flush with the outlet which to me is a good thing. I always find it hard to remove the chargers that don’t protrude slightly, so I appreciate that part of the design.
Charging
Each port is capable of a 18W output which is the maximum you will ever need on a QC 2.0 enabled device. The S7 Edge can only take 15.03W (9V/1.67A), so this charger will fast charge it at the same rate as the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger. I tested both ports with my multi-meter to ensure they lived up to their ratings.

Summary
I have no issues with the overall design or build of this car charger, plus with the added versatility of a second QC 2.0 port it has a lot to offer. Not all chargers offer their full power output while charging multiple devices, but thankfully this one does. I don’t see any reason not to recommend it because it’s been great.
Tronsmart Micro USB Cable 6 Pack (20AWG)
Overview
I always need more cables because for some reason I either misplace them, or forget to bring them with me. I like how Tronsmart offers a large pack of cables (6 in this set) in varying sizes depending on what you might need. I usually keep the shortest one (1[ft]) in my backpack to go along with an external battery pack I carry with me. The longer ones usually find their way onto my desk or night stand because it’s nice to have the extra length so I can keep all of my devices separate & not clustered together while charging.

Build & Design
These cables have a larger gauge wire (20AWG) which should decrease the resistance thus allowing for less current drop in the longer variants. The connectors work well with any of my 10+ S7E cases, and they are slightly smaller physically than the Samsung one. You won’t have any issues bending these like some higher gauge cables which makes wrapping them up for storage easy.
Charging
I tested each cable length via my multi-meter to see if there was any current/voltage drop while charging my phone. I did not see any measurable drop even for the longer 6[ft] cable, so you should be able to fast charge your phone with any of them without sacrificing cable length.
Summary
I’ve actually owned a pack of these for a while now before receiving this set, and I’ve enjoyed using them. I haven’t had any of them break, fail, or otherwise suffer from flaws during my 5 months using the previous set. I enjoy the large variety of sizes offered because it allows you use a cable that suits your needs rather than one that’s too long/short.

It is unfortunate, and as much as I would like to post them I can't without having the OP get locked like some others I've written up. Even when I buy products and link them it raises flags for some reason, bht thags neither here nor there
The input rating if the charger is different than the output. I charged a AC 2.0 batter pack at 12V/1.5A which is the highest 12V rate that the charger is rated for. I have a Power Partners 30W single port QC 2.0 charger somewhere that will output somewhere around that in terms of the 12V but I've never tested it.
so when used in a car with 12v sigarette lighter plug it will never get higher then 1.5A or is it only this one? Are there other chargers that get more amps though that 12v port then this one?
The reason I ask is because when my phone is connected to the 12v car charger it does not get charged while using it with max brightness, gps, 4g, 2 or 3 apps at the same time, ...

As I mentioned the input current will be at 12V from the car, but it can also output at 12V via the QC standard. I can charge 2 phones (1 on each port with multimeters connected) to see he max current I can draw which should be the rated 33W if I recall correctly.
