[Q] Google play spam policy violation - App Stores

Yesterday i received a message from google that my app that i released about a week ago violates the google play spam policy. So my question is, i have edited the app title and description, but will i somehow get a message if my app is now compliant with the policy? Or will i have to sit and wait whether the app gets pulled after 7 days

We received a similar notification, we changed it and the app got removed...forever...you can have a look here about what happened: http://themunsonsapps.blogspot.com/2014/04/mtg-wishlist-pro.html

Hm weird, mine wasn't removed when i changed the description. I guess it was the keyword collection that google didn't like

Phone: Nexus 4
OS: rooted Lollipop LRX21T

stock Recovery

Lucky you!

Soo i got the same message, i think the problem was the extra keywords i had, but for the sake of it i changed every thing and suspended all other apps that were simliair to it(waiting on what happens to the inital app).
Changed the description and title to this:
Title: White C-Circle Neon Clock
Short: A neon colored clock widget.
Description:
White version of the double C circle's.
The small circle is the hours
Big one is the minutes
The background is transparent and the only things that are visible are the circles.

[Q] Revolution 11 ROM and Facebook persistent Notifications

It took me a bit to actually like it but before I flashed the new Revolution ROM I had started to enjoy the persistent Facebook notification bar on my HTC One from AT&T. Being that I'm a newly (registered) member I can't post on the development thread unless I spam the forum with ten useless posts first. So, instead of being a jackass and doing that I figured I'd come here and ask if anyone has a way to re-add that notification bar? I looked in Facebook's settings and didn't see anything about ongoing notifications or anything. I updated to the newest FB app off the play store, so I'm not sure if I have the wrong version or what.
Thanks in advance!
I can't find what you mean, are you sure it was persistent, got a screenshot? Googled for a while
rvirochu simple
Here's a picture of the bar and the option that's "supposed" to be there. It's called Ongoing notifications, sorry.
Don't have ten posts so I can't post the link.

You've got me. I unlocked my phone and kept the stock ROM for about a week then finally found Revolution (wasn't looking hard) and saw that it was exactly what I wanted. I went from 4.1.2 where it worked to Revolution 4.2.2 where it's not an option.

Kernel build date is different too. Mine says October 22nd

Still interesting. Whats the build number on that phone? Sounds like you have one that either missed getting updated before being shipped, or an old one from the back of the store room. Who knows, might have the code for "Always listening" Google now hiding under all the bugs?

its all up there in that one screen shot i put in build number and everything.
I emailed the seller waiting to either return it or just update it myself.
Well, I came into this thread expecting completely different results.
OP, do a system dump and upload it. Maybe there are some goodies on there that we can use. It seems you've got your hands on a test/debug build of Android. Does the phone hardware look like it should? "nexus" printed on the back, area where the IMEI sticker should be, etc.?

yup its legit sticker on the screen IMEI sticker on the back i switch it on and the boot animation was from the first build of ICS only it was cropped in the middle of the screen then to my surprise i'm running Keylime pie. Ive never done a system dump before i'm on this other thread now figuring out how to flash stock kit kat. It's frustrating. You're like "this is not what i paid for" you know?

Maybe don't buy a brand-new device second-hand.
That's always a bad sign. Either the device had issues and they're too lazy to return it or it's fake...possibly they don't like it but there's probably reasoning behind that to merit immediately selling a $400 phone a week max after receiving it.
That's REALLY strange. Kinda cool. I think you got a test device.

Interesting. Under "Model Number" it also says "AOSP on Hammerhead". Also why would it say "KeyLimePie" instead of an actual number like "4.4" under Android Version. Something odd is going on here.

Hold up on that. At least do a system dump first.
If you don't know how use this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380797
If you don't have the android SDK go here and download the platform tools attached in the 8th comment and open command line there then follow that guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33510112
Also you need to enable android debugging.

Going to also say "Do a system dump" simply because A) You seem to be one of the very "lucky" few to have an older device and B) Who knows what kind of things are hiding in that system image.
I mean, its your phone and you paid for it so I don't blame you for wanting to just flash KitKat onto it. However, that system image could benefit the development community somehow. Either way, this is really interesting.
Looks like a test build for sure - if you google sangjoon84.lee you'll find that kernel build referenced in all the FCC info and prior N5 leaks.
Don´t update it for Pete´s sake, that might be a treasure! "Early Development device" ...in 10 years that´s gonna be worth something on ebay!

I just checked that aswell. It's weird though because other mentions of it have KyeLimePie whereas this screenshot shows it spelt correctly.

This isn't the first time a non shipping build came with a nexus phone.
In fact, all of our N5's shipped with key lime pie. It just forced an update at setup.
The reason why this didn't update is its not in an OTA path. Its a test build.

OP if you are willing to dump the system image for us here are some easy steps on doing that.
Download the Android tools here
All you have to do is dump the contents of the zip onto your C: directory. Enable USB debugging on your phone and plug it in via USB. Then open CMD prompt and type:
CD C:\
You should then see
C:\
Now just type:
adb.exe pull /system/
This will dump the image which you can then zip and share later if you wanted. I would advise doing a dump seeing as how this is extremely rare. Again though, its your call.
Is it already unlocked? Would be wild if this was just some Google employee's test device for a couple weeks or simmering!

Yup, my device as I am sure everyone else's here aksed for an immediate update once it booted up so who knows what was there before.

[REF] Gear manager downloads, current version: 1.7.031004 | 2014-03-16

Please read first:
I have moved on to the HTC One M8, I don't own a galaxy phone anymore, and have sold my gear. I won't be keeping this thread updated anymore, but please refer to Brendo's thread (link below) which he appears to be maintaining. Cheers. ps, i really miss the gear, but am just sick of samsung phones for the moment. can't wait for the moto 360!
Brendo's gear manager thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573200
Hi All,
Here's some versions of the Gear manager APK I have managed to collect. Hopefully the historical versions might be useful to some, and the current version useful to people wanting to run Gear manager on a non Samsung/Touchwiz phone/ROM.
Latest version, 16th March 2014
1.7.031004 - poor watch battery life? I would stick with 1.6.132701 right now.
Historical versions
1.6.132701
1.6.131003
1.6.111801
1.5.123002
1.5.121601 - this version was a bit buggy
1.5.120903
1.2.131013
If you have other versions feel free to send me a link and I'll host.
For those running non-TouchWiz phones, you might be able to get the Samsung Apps app working by having a look HERE.
HTH.
Changelog
As usual with Samsung, we don't often get real changelogs, but occasionally people work it out or Samsung's PR team let it slip.
2.0.14031004
Watch manager that comes with the Galaxy S5
1.7.031004
Unsure, but I have gotten pretty bad watch battery life with this version. I went back to 1.6.132702 and battery mostly went back to normal.
?? initially I thought this would be for 1.6.111801, but I installed it and it doesn't feature these updates. So possibly this is a future changelog of an unreleased version
Improved pedometer accuracy
Add setting menu “Motions”
Change motion menu for wake up gesture
When connecting to device again (example: after powering on), send notification of all unread messages
Changed to send notification only for new message
Fix to add popup message for BT connection without GM in setup wizard
Implemented standalone alarm
Add additional PIN lock
Changed and improved notifications menu
Implemented more notifications
Gear shows the messages of the notification of quick panel displayed on the phone
1.6.132702
First official 1.6.x release.
1.6.131003
Optimised for KitKat phone ROMs
1.6.111801
Fixed GMail notification repeats
Applies new functionality when used with ML1 firmware (eg native alarm)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573200
cool, you need to advertise that better, maybe put some search terms or something? Make it obvious that older versions are there too.. i searched a lot when i first got my gear (for Christmas), and i didn't come across your thread
Mods, feel free to delete this thread.
I don't think that we should delete this thread. I think that we should take all the apk's for gear manager and put them in this thread for reference and keep this thread going because it is very clean. thank you Mods and thank you Omni wolf

Yeah, from what I read it seems to be groundwork for the KitKat OTA update. I got mine this morning. I plugged in my Note in the car and noticed it automatically rebooted several times.

There are several threads about the update. It was a minor update with several theories about the updates, but for the most part, it appears to have added google drive, fixed a few minor bugs, not fixed GPS and is preparing our devices for a Kitkat upgrade in the near future. Please note that one of the threads had a listing of the update components and these are what I remember.

[Q] Unable to unlock bootloader at 4.4.2, any solution?

I know there are threads on this problem with other Transformer pads, but I am wondering if anyone had this problem with the TF701 (WW)?
I just get the message about "Unknown error, might be network connection..."
Of course my network connection is fine, and I am using the unlock tool found at ASUS support site for the TF701. That is version 8.
I have tried this a couple of days, many times per day, it just gives me the same error.
I have read people with other Transformer models who contacted ASUS and gave them their serial numbers and MAC-addresses, which seems to solve the problem in some cases.
Others are refering to ASUS devicetracker (devicetracker.asus.com) which seems to be taken down, or is it just available in US?
I called ASUS, they never heard of the problem.
I am thankful for any help!
I think you ended up downloading the unlock tool for the TF700, not TF701. The latter only has one tool, version 1.
The former has the v8

Thanks, but version 8 is the right one. It's just called v 1.0 on ASUS TF701 support site.
Ok, in that case just keep trying. For some people it literally took 40 -50 tries and it worked all the sudden.
At the same time register your tablet on Asus VIP service, then conatct them and explain your problem.
The mismatched database entries was a big problem for many TF700 owners - haven't heard anything like that for the TF701 ever.
Send them a screenshot of your About Tablet page with each mail and ask them to check their database and correct the entry for your tablet.
Good luck

Thanks, I will do as you suggest and contact them via the support form instead of calling.
And I will continue hitting that button.
I just wanted to put in my two cents here. I've been having the same issues with the bootloader unlock tool for the last 3 months. I've called customer support numerous times and been told too bad. We don't support that. We don't care. I bought this tablet for its vast power but I am not even allowed to experience its full potential. I am deeply disappointed in Asus. It has been nothing but problems with this thing but through patience some have resolved themselves.
You're suggestion may have been the light at the end of my tunnel. I have never hears of the VIP support until now. I have done the same, registered and sent them a ticket request. I uploaded a screenshot of the screen saying password incorrect.
Here's hoping this can finally be resolved. If this fixes it, I'll be sure to tell everyone that's still having problems with the tool.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, officially Asus does not provide any support as soon as yu mention "unlock". That's why people were telling them thry could not get registered for Asus Device Tracker (same problem: no s# in Asus database = no device tracker).
The VIP service people seem to be a little more receptive than general support. But it really depends on who happens to read your mail...
That's why you want to be persistent. Turn yorself into a polite and friendly PITA and don't forget to attach a screenshot to each mail you send.

I think you have to turn off two factor login on your Google account. You may also have to log in to your Google account website and turn on "allow unsecured apps".

I am not talking about the "Unknown sources" in Android.
I don't know the exact description since English is not my first language, but if you log in to for an example Gmail, then go to your Google account up to the right, you will find an option for allowing "unsecure apps".
I hope it was understandable.

I think I found what you're referring to. It's in the Google account management section. It's the area where you can make your internet experience immune to Google's pull. You can edit adsense settings, see your entire Google history, YouTube videos you've viewed all sorts of stuff. It's really cool, but unfortunately the boot loader unlock tool doesn't come up in that list of apps. That list consists of third party apps that have all already gained access.
If you're referring to yet a different screen, maybe a screenshot would be helpful?

Yeah, this looks like the classic database mismatch problem. Keep trying to use the app and contact Asus.
It really depends on who you happen to talk/email to. So don't give up. Just read about someone who bought an unlocked TF701 on ebay which was totally messed up and he/she got an RMA approved without any problem...
Ask for a supervisor, escalate it... If you're willing to give up your warranty - why should they care?
So I walked away from it. Came back and for sh**s and giggles I hit the button and BOOM the lock on my bootloader was blown wide the freak open.
